James (Jim) was born June 10, 1942 the eldest son of William Leo Curry and Anna LaVerne May in Lawton, OK. Jim grew up in Florida and spent time with his family in Texas and Oregon. He went to the School of the Ozarks in Paintlookout, Missouri. He had many different jobs as a young man, before settling down on a career as a long haul over the road trucker, which he did for 26 years. He married Becky Ann Brown on August 13, 1994 in the Salt Lake City Temple. They resided in Worland, Wyoming until May 2000, when they moved to St. George. He had a great love of music, but his passion being the old-style Country and gospel. Jim was a song writer, music publisher and musician, and had several songs published and two currently being played over seas. His gospel song "Give thanks to God" was ranked #2 in the Netherlands. Since moving to St. George, he has been associated with Red Rock Center for Independence where he was serving as board chairman at the time of his death. He also was a volunteer for Dixie Regional Medical Center at the 400 St. Campus at the 1st floor reception. He had a great love for children and was loved by those he came in contact with. He was preceded in death by his father and step-brother John Phillip Barker. He is survived by his wife Becky, of St. George, Mother LaVerne Barker of Melbourne FL.; brothers, Charles E. (Anita) Curry of Fairplay, MO; John Michael (Patty) Curry of Frostproof, FL; William D. (Sharon) Curry Sr. of Fosters AL, and a step-brother Myron Eugene (Kitty) Barker of Melbourne FL. and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Wed. June 22, 10:00 a.m. at the Morningside LDS Chapel on 900 S. Visitations will be held Tues. June 21, from 7-8:30 p.m. at Heideman Mortuary, and one hour prior to services at the chapel. Originally published June 21, 2005 Robert R. Teal CEDAR CITY - Our loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Robert R. Teal, 70, passed away on June 17, 2005 in The Dixie Regional Center, St. George, Utah, after a short but courageous battle with Leukemia. He was born on August 28, 1934 to Buford Richard and Murial Stockdale Teal. He married his sweetheart Jeanette Faye Eckert on January 18, 1965 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Robert loved to watch football and enjoyed long conversations about politics. He also enjoyed to travel; living life to the fullest. He was an Eagle Scout, and always supported the Boys Scouts. Robert was a Navigator and a Test pilot, and an avid fan of 590 AM. Robert is survived by his wife, Jeanette Teal, his six children; Dennis (Angela) of Big Bear City, CA, Stephen of Azusa, CA, Larry of Clairmont, CA, Kerry of Clairmont, CA, Sharon Malekow of Apple Valley, CA, Sandy Teal of Apple Valley, CA, 29 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and one brother, Morris (Virginia) Teal of Nebraska. He is preceded in death by his parents, Buford and Murial Teal, two brothers; Rosco and Don, one son; Robert Jr., and one daughter; Wendy Teal. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cedar City Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Southern Utah Mortuary.
