Daniel was the oldest child of Robert Hagenson and Shillene DeMille Hagenson. Daniel is the grandson of the late Donald E. DeMille and Alta DeMille. Daniel was born on May 26, 1993 in Phoenix, Arizona. He was a student at Heritage Elementary in Glendale, Arizona and a member of the Sahuaro Ranch Ward of the LDS Church. Daniel was a talented young man who loved music and played the piano and violin. He was his mother's helper and took care of his sisters and brothers. He was a cheerful, happy boy that always tried to do what was right. He was just ordained to be a Deacon on his birthday in May and was excited to have the priesthood. Daniel loved basketball, scouting, and also loved to work with his late grandfather DeMille. Daniel was the kind of boy that was loved by all those who knew him. Daniel is survived by his parents, Robert Hagenson and Shillene DeMille Hagenson, his sisters, Taylor and Taryn, brothers, Bryce and Carson, his grandmother Alta DeMille, and aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Donald E. DeMille and his uncle Shane DeMille. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 25, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Springdale Ward Chapel, Springdale, Utah. Viewings will be held on Friday, June 24, 2005 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Springdale Relief Society Room and Saturday, June 25, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services in the chapel. Originally published June 23, 2005 Elzyvee Segler Judd VIRGIN - Elzyvee Segler Judd, age 82, passed away Monday, June 20, 2005, at Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George, Utah. She was born November 5, 1922, in LaVerkin, Utah, a daughter of Hardy M. and Lovina Gifford Segler. She married Eugene Pectol, and to this union were born two sons, Rudy and Randy. They later divorced, and she was sealed for time and all eternity to Oscar Johnson in the St. George Temple. He preceded her in death. She later married Joe Judd on April 13, 1978, in the St. George Temple, and he also preceded her in death on May 29, 1993. Elzyvee was born, raised, and educated in La Verkin, Utah, and she graduated from Hurricane High School. After graduation, she worked for the National Park Service at Zion, Bryce, and the Grand Canyon. When she and Joe married, he owned and operated Cougar Joe's Rock Shop in Springdale. After he sold the shop, they moved to Virgin, where she resided the remainder of her life. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a devoted visiting teacher, and a former St. George Temple ordinance worker. She worked in the Extraction Program and contributed greatly to her family's records. Elzyvee was a wonderful sister, always there for Ursula, always doing for her and others as well. She was industrious, excellent at quilting and handiwork, and was canning and quilting even in the last week of her life. A resourceful and sharing woman, Elzyvee would do without if someone else was in need. She was a devoted member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She had a remarkable memory, was compassionate, though plain spoken and to the point. She will be fondly remembered for two of her favorite remarks, "Where would you be without family and the Gospel?" and "I love you..." Surviving family include her: sister, Ursula S. Beaumont, of Salt Lake City, UT; granddaughter, Emilie (Brian) Adams, of Provo, UT; stepchildren (Oscar's children), O. R. Johnson, Dennis Johnson, and Carma Cope; stepchildren (Joe's children), Theo Hadley, Nevada Lee Miller, JoAnn Hunt, Kurt Lewis Judd, and Patrick Joseph Judd; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her: two sons, Rudy Gene Pectol Johnson and Randy Pectol Johnson; husbands, Oscar and Joe; stepdaughter (Joe's daughter), Emma Colleen Busher; and stepdaughter (Oscar's daughter), Cherrell Gifford. The family would like to give a special thanks to Elzyvee's Virgin Ward family for all the special love and care that they have given her. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 27, 2005, at the Virgin Ward Chapel, Virgin, UT, with a viewing Sunday, June 26, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hurricane Valley Mortuary, and again Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., prior to services, at the Chapel. Originally published June 23, 2005 Lamar Martin KANAB - James Lamar Martin, age 82, died Sunday, June 19, 2005 in St. George, Utah. Born August 31, 1922 in Central, Arizona, to Sarah Curtis and Josiah Martin. He married Alpha Mae Brandon February 14, 1942 in Phoenix, Arizona. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Mesa Temple, March 22, 1951. She died April 23, 1997. He was a great artist working in oil painting and wood. A master woodworker and carpenter Lamar created beautiful inlay, desks, cradles, cedar chests, and homes. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Served honorably in the US Navy during World War II. Survivors include his daughter Pamela Sue Nahinu of Sacramento, California, 8 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren, Sisters-in-law Donna (Art) Rennels of Kanab, Utah, Alta Brandon, and Pat Brandon, and many nieces and nephews whom he loved. He was preceded in death by his wife Alpha Mae Martin, children Janice and Larry, and siblings; Abner, Duvall, Joy, Lawrence, Violet, Frances, Josiah, Clyde, May, and Opal. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 25, 2005 at 10:00AM at the Kanab Second Ward Chapel, 604 South 100 East, Kanab, Utah. Viewings will be held at the chapel Friday from 7 to 8 PM and Saturday 9:00 - 9:45 AM. Burial will be in the Kanab City Cemetery under the direction of Mosdell Mortuary.
