Born June 25, 1935 to Samuel Roy and Edna Fern Nelson Hill. Lynn was proud to be an Eagle Scout. He graduated from South High School. He served eight years in the army reserves. Lynn fulfilled an LDS mission in the Western States Mission, and remained an active member serving the Lord in many callings. Lynn married his eternal companion Kay Turner on September 5, 1958 in the Salt Lake Temple. He was a volunteer fireman for Murray City. Lynn retired from the Williams Co. in security, greeting every employee by their name and with a smile. Lynn and Kay have lived in the beautiful city of Ivins, Utah for the past ten years. Lynn enjoyed employment at Tuacahn and was a school crossing guard prior to his illness. Lynn and Kay served a LDS mission at the St. George Family History Center. They loved to travel and took many vacations with their children. Lynn enjoyed many hobbies; his model airplane collection was admired by all who knew him. Survived by his wife Kay, children; Deanne (Paul) Freeman, Victor Lynn (Anna), Timothy (Erica), Kaelynne (Jim) Hayes, and Melissa Salamah. Also brother; Dean (Jean) Hill, Sisters; Lorna (Martin) Burnett, Annette (Paul) Hill-Onstott. Lynn was the proud grandfather of fourteen loving grandchildren and eleven beautiful great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents and brother, David. Funeral services were held in Taylorsville, Utah, March 1, 2005. Lynn was buried in Murray City Cemetery. CANNONVILLE - Edgar H Dunham, 81, of Cannonville, Utah, passed away February 28, 2005 at his home in Cannonville. He was born June 1, 1923, in Kanab, Utah, to Joseph Smith and Alice Henderson Dunham. He married Lee Ida Savage, in Las Vegas, Nevada, on March 9, 1946. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple on March 8, 1968. She preceded him in death on June 27, 1976. He married Dorothy M. Miller, in Moab, Utah, on November 23, 1976. Edgar worked in Bryce Canyon as a stone mason. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, looking at the wild flowers and spending time with his sheep. Edgar served in WWII as an infantryman. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, Cannonville; children, Edgar Lee Dunham, Cannonville; Jean Mitchell, Mt. Pleasant; Linda (Dale) Nielson, Manti; and Martin (Joanne) Hermansen, Mt. Pleasant; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sister, LaVera Moss, Englewood, CO; and sister-in-law, Minok Dunham, St, George. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lee Ida; parents; grandson, Eddie Clark Dunham; brothers, Van (Franka) Dunham, Jay (Eva Lou) Dunham, Milo Dunham, and Merwin Dunham; sister, Margaret (Earl) Braithwaite; brother-in-law, Tracy Moss; and his good friend, Harvey Mecham. Patterson August 4, 1940 in Manila, Utah.He was a tail gunner, B-17, and was killed over in Germany in World War II.A daughter, Penla Dee (Penny) Patterson Brown was born to them.Emily married Heber Gillins Jr. January 1, 1946 in Minersville, Utah.Their marriage was later solemnized in the St George LDS Temple on April 9, 1964. Emily graduated from Beaver High School, attended Weber College in Ogden, Utah and LDS Business College in Salt Lake City, Utah.Emily wrote local news for the Milford News, was correspondent for both Deseret News, Salt Lake Tribune, the Spectrum after moving to St George.She was a photographer for the Minersville History book under the direction of Avaretta Corbridge Robinson and assisted in the editing of the book.She was gifted with the ability to write and she shared this talent with the many letters, journal entries and family history stories she wrote.She belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary, participating in a triosinging contest in St Louis, MO., with Shirley Hollingshead, Enid Webb Spafford and pianist Phyllis Truman.After moving to Las Vegas she worked in Government jobs as an excellent secretary.Moving to St George in the fall of 1973, she worked for the Bureau Of Land Management, Arizona Strip District.Emily enjoyed her many friendships and belonged to a sewing Club for over 30 years in St George. She was a member of the LDS Church and served as a visiting teacher, speech director, choir member and typed the bulletin for many years.She also served a mission for the Church at the Member Locator Office in St. George.Her many kind acts of service will not go unnoticed with custards, cookies, sharing of newspapers, a volunteer at the St George carecenter, helping not only her husband, Heber who passed away on May 29, 2001, she also took out a food handler permit so she was able to help others.In 2004 she moved to Beaver Care Center following an injury.She befriended many people and left lasting memories. She is survived by her five daughters, Penny (Scott) Brown, Cedar City, Adele (Roger) Murdock, Beaver, Barbara (Mike) Parry, Karen (Kevin) Leavitt all of Las Vegas & Linda (Paul) Strole Grand Junction, CO., 19 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren.Sister Irene (Goodwin) Bishop, Cedar City.Preceded in death by two husbands, Todd Patterson and Heber Gillins Jr., one son, Samuel Heber Gillins, her parents, three brothers, Russell, Sam & Neal Gentry and three sisters, Maude Woolley, LaVerne Stock and Betty Lowe, one grandson, Ryan Brown, and two great grandsons, Payton Soderborg and Jaxon Murdock. GEORGE - Wade LeGrande Hafen, age 39, died Sunday, February 27, 2005, as a result of complications due to a 4-wheeler accident on Saturday, February 26. He was born December 14, 1965, in St. George, Utah, a son of LeGrande Graf and LuJuanna Southers Hafen. While Wade was in elementary school, he and his family moved to Enterprise, Utah. He loved sports and was a Little League All-Star. In 1974, they moved to Santa Clara, Utah, where he grew up, graduating from Dixie High School, Class of 1984. He played football with the Dixie Flyers, and in his spare time he worked for Ben Franklin. He also was active in Scouts. After graduation, Wade moved to the Lake Tahoe area and worked in construction for the following year and a half. He also worked as a talented interior plasterer in Eagle Valley, Colorado. In 2004, he moved back home to work with his brother, Derek, building homes in St. George and surrounding area. Wade loved being outdoors, riding 4-wheelers, snowmobiles, and jet ski's. He also enjoyed skiing and was part of the Ski Patrol at Elk Meadows in Beaver, Utah. Outgoing, caring, tender-hearted, thoughtful, talented, loving, creative, a good friend, and a wonderful son describe the way his family and friends remember Wade. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Surviving family include his: parents, LeGrande and LuJuanna, of Santa Clara, UT; siblings, Tina (Terry) Wilde, of Ivins, UT, Derek Hafen, of St. George, UT, Wendy (Michael) Isom, of St. George, UT, and Jayme (Meisha) Hafen, of Salt Lake City, UT; grandparents, Grant Hafen, of Santa Clara, UT, and Verna Southers, of Hurricane, UT; nieces and nephews, Kennedy, Cassidy, Kaylee, Cody, Ryan, and Kadin. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Elva Hafen. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 3, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at the Santa Clara 1st Ward Chapel, 3040 W. Santa Clara Dr. Friends may call Wednesday, March 2, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Spilsbury Mortuary, and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., prior to services, at the Chapel.
