Homer was born April 30, 1917 in Paragonah, Utah the son of William Horn and Betsy Jane Topham Boardman. He grew up in Paragonah, where he attended elementary school and worked on the family farm. Homer graduated from Parowan High School. He was a Veteran of World War II. Homer married Leah Jean Robinson, 1950 in the St. George Temple. She preceded him in death on July 24, 1972. He worked at Southern Utah Dairy, where he was the Cheese Maker for 30 years. People still talk about his delicious cheese. He also worked for Utah Construction. Homer was a humble man, making friends with all he came in contact with. He was a high priest and an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many capacities. Homer was always dependable. He loved Bear Valley and the Deer Hunt. He greatly enjoyed family trips and family get togethers. He will be missed, never forgotten, and always remembered as "Unc." Homer was preceded in death by one brother Bill Boardman and two sisters Ada Adair and Romola Fretwell. He is survived by one sister Orlean Roundy and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday March 23, at 11:00 am at the Paragonah Ward Chapel. Friends and family may call Tuesday March 22, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at the Parowan Southern Utah Mortuary, and Wednesday one hour prior to the services at the Church. GEORGE - Darren Edward Fassio, age 36, passed peacefully into eternity on Saturday, March 19, 2005, at Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George. He was born October 9, 1968, in Salt Lake City, Utah, a son of Ed and Lucille Caldwell Fassio. Darren was born, raised, and educated in Salt Lake City and graduated from Granite High School. He attended L.D.S. Business College in Salt Lake City and Dixie State College in St. George, majoring in graphic arts. Classical music, fine art, stage plays, swimming, and NASCAR racing were among Darren's hobbies. His passion was reading. Darren's favorite holiday was July 4th. Surviving family include his: mother, Lucille, of St. George; and sisters, Gloria (Charles) Martin, of St. George, Sherry Fassio, of Los Angeles, CA, and Karren (Douglas) Christie, of St. George. "Darren, we love you and you will truly be missed." He was preceded in death by his father, Ed. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 22, at 11:00 a.m. at the Spilsbury Mortuary Chapel. There will be a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., prior to services, at the Mortuary. Interment will be at the Santa Clara City Cemetery. Originally published March 22, 2005 William John Hamilton PRESTON, Idaho - William John Hamilton, 60, of Preston, Idaho, our loving husband, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend died March 18, 2005 in Ogden, Utah. John was born July 6, 1944, the youngest child of William Jack and Therma Matilda (Hadfield) Hamilton in Perry, Utah. He was raised in Brigham City, Utah with his older twin sisters, LeAnn and JoAnn. He attended Box Elder High School, where he played the sousaphone in the marching band. In 1962, John married Alice McNealy, they had one son, and were later divorced. In 1964 John married Sheila Sperle. They were sealed in the Los Angeles Temple in 1970. In 1991 they parted as loving parents to their five children. In April 1992 John's favorite niece, Chrissy, introduced him to Karen Nash McKay. He often said he knew he found the love of this life on their first date. They were married December 31, 1992, adding two more children to their family. John joined the Navy as a teenager, and he served as an Oceanographic Technician with top secret clearance until 1976 when he crossed over to Chief Master of Arms in charge of Base Security on Midway Island. He retired in 1980 at Keyport, Washington. He also worked as a reserve Police Officer and Security Officer while serving in the Navy. After retiring he worked for Pan Am for a short time in Security and volunteered with the Red Cross. This led to a position with the Red Cross as Safety Director in Lake Oswego, Oregon and then to Executive Director of the Northern Utah Chapter in Ogden, Utah. John was responsible for the Chapter relocation to the Harrison Boulevard sight. After leaving the Red Cross, John moved to Klamath Falls, Oregon to work as the Executive Director for Cascade East Area Health Education Center. He moved to Preston, Idaho and started his own Home Inspection Business. He also was the Executive Director of the Preston Chamber of Commerce. He worked as the Executive Director of the Iron County Care and Share in Cedar City. He was working as the Neighborhood Improvement Coordinator for Logan City at the time of his death. John was an active member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Preston, Idaho 11th Ward. John served in many positions over the years, but received his greatest joy as the Gospel Doctrine Teacher. John loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, he had a love of cooking and enjoyed barbecuing. He was happiest sitting next to Karen and watching the USU Aggies play football, basketball and all other USU athletic events either live or on TV. He was also a professional remote controller. John is survived by his wife, Karen, children Daniel M. (Konni) Hamilton, South Weber, Utah; Corky D. (Nathan) Kawamura, Ogden, Utah; William J. Hamilton Jr., Portland, Oregon; Telsie A. (Brandon) Nay, Brigham City, Utah; Theodore Jack Hamilton, Portland, Oregon; Tae Marie Hamilton, Ogden, Utah; Todd (Jennifer) McKay, Dillon, Montana; Tiffany (Erik) Williams, Twin Falls, Idaho; his sisters; 19 grandchildren; five great grandchildren and many additional family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and three grandchildren, Tiffany Aki Kawamura, Davin Jaden Hamilton and Nathan Michael Kawamura. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 24 in the Preston Idaho South Stake Center, 55 East 1st South in Preston, Idaho. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at Webb Mortuary and on Thursday from 11:30 to 12:30 at the church. Interment will follow at the Franklin Idaho Cemetery. Twitchell 1921 - 2005 CANNONVILLE, Utah - Desmond Loren Twitchell, 83, of Cannonville, Utah, passed away early in the morning of March 21, 2005. He was born July 20, 1921 in Cannonville to Loren Elroy and Ethel Tyler Twitchell. He married Gretha Henderson on April 25, 1942 in the St. George LDS Temple. Desmond served his country in the Army during WWII in Europe. He was an active member of the LDS Church and served in various church callings. Along with his wife, he was an ordinance worker in the St. George Temple for 8 years and they served a mission together in the Toronto Canada Temple from 1994 to 1996. He loved his family and enjoyed farming; he had a great love for animals. He managed the Escalante Stake Welfare Farm for 8 years. He is survived by his wife, Gretha of Cannonville; children Mary Lou (Darreld) Neilson of Henrieville, Cheryl (Lonnie) Pollock of Tropic, Ethel Kae (Martin) Rich of Bryce Canyon Pines, Desmond Lamonte (Rita) Twitchell of Cannonville; son-in-law, Evan Chynoweth of St. George; 22 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister and brother, Glenda Feltner and Vaughn Twitchell; half brothers, Kerry Campbell, Roger Campbell and Clifton Campbell. He is preceded in death by his parents; children, Judith Ann Chynoweth, Christine (Ronald) Adair; sister and brother, Vivian Reid, Bernell Twitchell; grandson, Russell Hatch; three great-grandsons, Swade, Dace and Kason Miller.
