Blackner CEDAR CITY - Allen J. Blackner died May 1, 2005 in Cedar City, Utah at the age of 77. He was born November 28, l927 in Beaver, Utah to Allen James Blackner and Ethel Baldwin Blackner. He married Mary Ann Yelton in Boise, Idaho and later divorced. He then married Betty Jean Brinkerhoff on September l6, l982. She preceded him in death December 22, 2003. Allen enlisted in the U.S. Navy in l946 after graduating from Beaver High School where he took a prominent part in athletics and other school activities. His career in the Navy took him to many countries throughout the world. He saw active duty in Kodiak Alaska, Japan, the Philippine Islands and he served as the U.S. Naval Attach‚ at the Moscow U.S.S.R. Embassy. He retired from the Navy as a Chief Petty Officer in l966. He received many commendations while serving his country. After retiring, Allen spent several years in administration positions in Boise Idaho, and served as secretary/club manager of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. After moving to Cedar City, he worked as a sales representative for Century Equipment Company and was house manager for the Cedar City Elks Lodge for 2 years. He also worked as the Administrative Office with the Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah in Cedar City. His duties with the tribe included not only the managing of Government Grants and contract, but the day to day operations and management of a large tribal staff. Allen was most happy in the mountains hunting and fishing with his son Bob, and weekend camping with Betty and their friends. He enjoyed the evenings he spent around the camp fire with his brother Ken and his nephews at the deer camp. He is survived by his son Bob (Barbara) of Cedar City and his Grandchildren Cody and Alycyn, and two brothers: Ken Blackner (Carol) of Cedar City and Gary Blackner (Jane) of Tacoma, Washington, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents, a brother Ronald, and a sister Mary Lou. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 5, 2005 in the Beaver 1st and 2nd Ward at 12:00 P.M. Viewings are Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at the Southern Utah Mortuary in Cedar City from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 p.m. and at 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Beaver 1st and 2nd Ward on Thursday before the funeral. Maw / Brown 1923 - 2005 OGDEN - Sunday, May 1, 2005 Cleone passed away peacefully, at the age of 82. She was born January 7, 1923 in Ogden, Utah to Eddy Sanderson and his wife Sarah Bitton Sanderson. Cleone grew up in the North Ogden, Roy, Ogden area. She married Roland Richard Maw, Sr. on June 18, 1940. Cleone loved life and enjoyed the relationships of many extended family members who lived close and far away. Cleone and Roland had seven children: Lynda, Richard, Jim, Robert, Mary Lou, Suezun, Janet. The children were raised in Ogden, Utah; Nyssa, Oregon; Melrose and Whitehall, Montana, Moses Lake, Washington, Roy, Utah. The family enjoyed working on the farms, ranches. Roland was injured in a car accident and passed away at the prime of his life leaving behind Cleone to finish raising the family. Cleone later married Norman (Gus) Brown and they lived in the Roy, Orem/Provo area. They later divorced. Cleone was a very talented person with her hands and her children, 33 grandchildren and 66 great grandchildren have been blessed because of her life. Cleone was preceded in passing by her husband, Roland; son Jim, daughters Lynda and Mary Lou, sisters; Mabel Kreg, Lucille Nebecker, Donna Vitale and brother Emerson Stephens. Cleone is survived by her sons Richard Maw (Alaine) Kasilof, Alaska; Robert (Peggy) Pinedale, Wyoming; daughters: Suezun Hilburn (Hal) St. George, Utah; Janet Engelke (Craig) Hooper, Utah, and daughter in law, Terry Maw Wasilla, Alaska; son in law Drew Foley Renton, Washington. Cleone will be remember by her family for her nurturing love to the family and her church work especially her love of family history. Funeral services for Cleone will be held Wednesday May 4, 2005, 11:30 a.m., LDS Chapel, 295 N. Mall Dr., St. George, UT. Visitation will be Wednesday, 11 a.m., prior to the services at the chapel. Originally published May 3, 2005 Roland Naegle Warner ST. GEORGE, UT - Roland Naegle Warner passed away in St. George, Utah on April 29, 2005. He was born May 10, 1925 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Roland Lehmann and Regelia Naegle Warner. He served in the U.S. Navy as a radioman from 1943-1946. He later lived and worked in San Francisco, California until his retirement from Pacific Gas and Electric Co. Roland married Alice Bulloch Pearson in the St. George Temple on December 17, 1988. He was a devoted temple worker and member of the LDS Church. He will be most remembered for his tender care of his wife and mother, his love of movies, music, travel, art, and his wealth of friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice, his parents and a sister Dorothy Olsen Bakke. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 4, 2005, 12 p.m., Metcalf Mortuary Chapel, 288 W. St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah. A visitation will be held Wednesday, 10:30-11:30 a.m., prior to the services at the mortuary.
