Mike was 66 years old. He is survived by his daughter, Avece M. Higbee, his grand children, Jordan Sgro, Kadyn Hydar and Ashley Hydar, his sister, Bonnie Lepper, his brother, Richard Higbee and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Faun Jenson Higbee and Mark Clair Higbee, and special friend Robert "Weed" Sevy. Mike was born on August 18, 1939 with a kind heart and grew to lend a helping hand whenever he could. As any young man in the 50's, he loved cars - cruising, racing, fixing, and sometimes wrecking. Mike served for several years in the National Guard. He was an enlisted man and then progressed to the rank of Sargent First Class E7. Mike was well known by many as the friendly face behind the counter at the Post Office in Cedar City. He sorted and delivered mail and then became a clerk. He always had a quick witted comment and a good natured "Hello" for those that came through his line. Mike spent weekends and off hours on the mountain. He loved hunting and fishing and was always planning for the next hunting season. Mostly, he liked being with friends and family. Mike was also an avid gardener. He supplied tomatoes and other garden goodies to family and friends for decades. In the winter, he and his dad, brother and nephews cut Christmas trees. Many enjoyed a beautiful Christmas tree because of Mike. He was generous and touched many lives. Funeral services will be held in Cedar City on Monday November 21, 2005 at 12:00 p.m. at the Rock Church, 1st ward Chapel. Viewings will be held on Sunday November 20, 2005 at 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Southern Utah Mortuary (190 North 300 West), and on Monday November 21, 2005 at 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Cedar City Cemetery following the services. Originally published November 19, 2005 Philip Conrad Lawson Philip Conrad Lawson died November 10, 2005 after what you would say was a great run. He was born on only child August 25, 1934 in Trupsburg N.Y. His family moved to San Diego when he was 12 where he pursued several successful careers; automotive mech., radiator repairman, and accountant. He moved to Parowan in 1976 where he herded sheep, cut wood for Brian Head and finally ended up driving a hay truck until his retirement. He is survived by 2 daughters, 2 sons, 12 grandchildren and many close friends who always new they could come by to have him fix a weld or repair a car and get to much advice. Originally published November 19, 2005 Patricia Ann Morrell ENOCH - Patricia Ann Morrell, 61 passed away November 13, 2005 in Enoch, Utah. She was born June 6, 1944 in Ukiah, CA. to Alvie and Lillian (Hart) Youngblood. She married her beloved husband Steven A. Morrell August 1997 in Davis, CA. Where they retired and moved to Enoch. Pat was the type of women that would do anything for anyone. She was loved by all who knew her and she loved all she knew. She enjoyed going on trips with her husband Steve, Fishing, Shopping on the home shopping network and spending time with all her grandbabies. She adored her two living daughters Barbara and Shelly. They were the lights of her life. She is survived by her husband Steve, Daughters, Barbara (Bill), Shelly (Danny), Sisters Darlene (Dale) Ivy, Mylinda Battle, Jeanie Lepper, and Marilyn (Kenneth) Chapman. Brothers Alan (Leah) Roux, William Roux. Grandchildren, Amber, Desirae, and D.J. Great Grandchildren Kathleen and numerous step kids, grandkids, and great grandkids which she loved just as much. She was preceded in death by her Mother, Father and Step Father Jules, Daughter Kathleen and two grand daughters Jessica and Monica. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 19, 2005 1:00 P.M. in the Enoch 3rd Ward Chapel, 555 East Midvalley Road. Prior to the service the viewing will be 11:30 till 12:30 also at the church. Interment in the Enoch City Cemetery. Originally published November 19, 2005 Lowell Scott Palmer BEAVER - Lowell Scott Palmer, age 73, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2005 in Beaver, Utah. He was born on May 7, 1932 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Andrew Hinchliffe and Genieve Divine Pitt Palmer. He married Marjorie Rueckert on November 20, 1952 in Salt Lake City, Utah and later divorced. Lowell was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his children Barbara Morden of Sacramento, California, Cheryl (David) Morris of Oceanside, California, sisters Genieve King of Beaver, Utah, Diane (Lance) Peterson of Salt Lake City, Utah, brother-in-law William Moss of Parowan, Utah, 6 grandchildren and 2 greatgrandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 21, 12:00 p.m. at the Parowan 4th Ward Chapel located at 90 South Main Street. Family and friends may call on Monday, November 21, 10:30 a.m. until time of services. Interment will be in the Parowan Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
