GEORGE - Shari Star (Sherri Jordan) Chambless quietly passed away on November 17, 2005, with her husband and her precious "Pugs" by her side. Shari 48, was born August 3, 1957, in Lynnwood, California. Her school years and younger years were spent here in Washington and St. George. She later came back and has resided here since with her husband Doug. Shari was a person that wanted to help everyone and was certainly a unique person. She was an avid Bingo player. She created unusual and beautiful crafts. She had a small boutique, "A Gift Just Because" in Cedar City, and was a Mary Kay Representative. She also drove a truck for Bundy Trucking, Riverbend, Gentry and Werner Trucking. She led a most interesting and colorful life. She proved that if you put your mind to anything, anything is possible. She is going to be missed dearly by all that knew her. She is survived by her husband Douglas Chambless, daughter; Sacha Paugh, sons; Travis Gillilan, Jon Henderson, Sunee Gillilan, eight grandchildren, her mother Jan Jordan of St. George. Her sisters; Debbie (Mohsen) Fargam of Draper, UT., Julie (John) Sullivan of Washington, UT., Julie Morton Sacramento, CA., brothers; Tom Smith of Carson, NV., John Jordan of Las Vegas, NV., nieces; Roya, Leticia, Meagan, Mandi and Alicia, nephews; Jace, Justin, Bezhan, Brooks and Michael, Aunt Jan and cousin Caroline, of CA. "With loving memories of my daughter Sherri - just because, Jan Jordan." She was preceded in death by her son, father and grandfather. A viewing will be held Tuesday, November 22, 2005, from 1-3 p.m., at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 W. St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah. Services will be held by the family at a later date in St. George. Lance was born February 8, 1978 in Cedar City, Utah, and was welcomed with love and joy by his parents Steve and Sybil Corry. In his younger years, Lance loved to visit the roller rink and became an accomplished roller blader. Lance loved music. He had played the piano, violin and trumpet and had a sweet singing voice. He was an avid reader, finding joy in books and learning. He also loved Karate. Lance loved his Savior and was faithful in his testimony of Jesus Christ. He struggled valiantly against the difficult challenges in his life. His sweet, kind, and gentle spirit radiated to all those he loved. Lance loved and accepted everyone. He was a favorite with his nieces and nephews. They will miss him. Lance is survived by his parents Steve and Sybil Corry, his brothers DeLynn (and wife Leana), Clark Corry, and sister Ember Corry. Nieces and nephews include Ciara, Seth, Kyla, Kendra, and Micah. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 25, at 1:00 p.m. in the Cedar Rock Church, 79 East Center Street, Cedar City, Utah. Friends and family may call on Friday, November 25, 11:00 to 12:30 p.m. at the Southern Utah Mortuary. Interment will be in the Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. Originally published November 22, 2005 Larry David Rogers LAS VEGAS - Larry Davis Rogers, age 64, died Wednesday, November 16, 2005, in Las Vegas, Nevada from complications of liver failure. He was a longtime resident of Henderson, Nevada. He was born July 7, 1941, to May Trimmer Rogers and David William Rogers, in St. George, Utah. He married the love of his live, Joyce Bennett, on December 21, 1972. Larry was always a free spirit and enjoyed adventure. He was affectionately known by his friends and family as Capt. Lorenzo. Miss Jo and Capt. Lorenzo spent many years together traveling and enjoying life. He loved to travel to Mexico and go deep sea fishing, where he caught many trophy fish. He also loved to deer hunt, and was a crack shot. He spent many happy hours with his dad and brothers at the deer hunting camps, and always had a good hunting story to tell. Larry enjoyed collecting coins, and was an expert coin appraiser. He was a hard worker and had many jobs throughout his life, retiring in 2004. He served his country bravely in the Vietnam War in the U. S. Army, and was awarded two Purple Hearts. He is survived by his: wife, Joyce; son, Donald B. (Michelle); one granddaughter, Mallory, of Sandy, UT brothers, Arlen Clayton, (Verona) Rogers of Pahrump, NV, and Clark Eugen, (Joyce) Rogers of Apple Valley, CA; sisters, Nancy Rogers (Dick) Davis, of St. George, UT, and Joyce Rogers (Dale) Bennett, of Las Vegas, NV; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, May and David Rogers. A Memorial Service will be held December 3, 2005, 10:00 a.m. at the Spilsbury Mortuary Chapel. Friends and family will have a gathering from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., prior to the service, at the Mortuary. Arrangements are made under the direction of Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S.
