Louise Bills ST. GEORGE - Addie Louise Broach Bills died in St. George, Utah, on Tuesday, November 22, 2005, with her loving family at her side. She was born April 16, 1921 in Hickory, North Carolina to Charles Westley and Annie K. Hudson Broach. Louise married James Scott Bills on February 26, 1946. James preceded her in death. She worked for Southern Bell, transferring to Mountain Bell Telephone Company in Ogden, Utah in 1946. She retired from U S West in 1985 after 41 years of service. She was an active member of Washington Heights Baptist Church. Louise was a member of the South Ogden Sing Along, and was active in the Telephone Pioneers of America serving as past president. She was a former member of Altrusa Club. Louise volunteered her time for the Heritage Senior Citizens Center in Clearfield for 13 years. She is survived by a son, Michael Scott (Marti) Bills; three grandsons, Michael Scott Bills, Jr., Anthony Dean Bills and Matthew Todd Bills, all of St. George, Utah; five great-grandchildren, Morgan Lynn Bills, Monte Vista, CO; Trevor Bills, Shaylee Bills, Kaden Bills and Abigail Louise Bills, all of Ogden, UT; one brother Thomas Broach and three sisters, Ann Couch, Ruth Kirby and Jeanette Moore, all of Lenoir, NC; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Louise in death were her parents, husband, James Scott Bills, two sons, Charles Dean Bills and Steven Farrell Bills, daughter, Karen Michelle Bills, two grandsons, David Clair Bills and Dana Scott Bills, and three brothers, Charles W. Broach, William Broach and Paul David Broach. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 28 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends and family may call at the mortuary on Sunday, November 27 from 6 to 8pm and Monday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Email condolences to the family at lom@lindquistmortuary.com Originally published November 25, 2005 Marion Junior Hammon Marion Junior Hammon (Junior as he liked to be called) returned to our Lord on Nov 19, 2005 after a battle with lung cancer. He was 68 years old. He was the best husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He was born in Weber County Utah to Marion B. Hammon and Sara Rhea Thurgood on Aug 4, 1937. He was raised in Davis County and attended Davis County Schools. He also attended Weber State College. He was the youngest of 5 children. On July 14, 1956 he married his soul mate Janet Palmer. His children are Tracy (Tim) Giles of Roy, UT and Brent (Laurie) Hammon of Syracuse, Utah. He has 5 grandsons, Junior Hammon, Jed Hammon, Jake Hammon, Levi Giles, and Caleb Giles. He also has 3 great grandsons, Cole, Jaden, and Landon. He was a policeman in Roy City for 38 years and retired as the Chief of Police. He served the police force and community as President Utah Chiefs of Police, Chairman of Utah Peace Officers Associations, Executive Committee member of the Weber Morgan Children's Justice Center and many others. He was always concerned about victim's rights. He also spent 35 years in the Army Reserves and retired as a Command Sergeant Major. Of all the duties he had in the Reserves his favorite assignment was the artillery. He received the Legion of Merit award and many others. He loved to travel and together we have been to all but one state. Junior loved to hunt and target shoot with his boys. He loved to work in his yard. He loved to help neighbors and family with anything they needed. He coached little league football. Junior was always happiest when he was outside. After 44 years of living in Roy he was finally able to fulfill a lifelong dream and moved to Washington, Utah. Where he spent his time exploring the backcountry. He has made numerous friends in Southern Utah. Junior is survived by his wife, children, grandsons, great grandsons, brother, Ken Hammon of Syracuse, Utah, and sister Josie Telford of Firth, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents, his oldest daughter Kelly Anna, brother, Howard Hammon, and sister, Lola Creager. Memorial Services will be in St. George at Heideman Mortuary, 170 South Mall Drive, on Saturday Nov 26th at 3:00 P.M. Junior has requested no flowers and asks instead that you make a donation to the American Cancer Society or St. George homeless shelter. The Hammon family would like to thank all the loving family, friends and special neighbors who with their loving support and concern helped us through this difficult time. Originally published November 25, 2005 Christopher Martin Wood CARLIN, Nev. - Beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend, Christopher Martin Wood, passed away in Carlin, Nevada on November 20, 2005. Chris was born January 30, 1959 to Blaine and Wanda Wood in Cedar City, Utah. He graduated from Cedar High School and served in the 222nd Field Artillery of the Utah National Guard. A talented driller, Chris worked in various areas of the country and at Newmont Gold Mine in Carlin, NV for the past several years. Chris married the love of his life, Melody Larson, on November 5, 1988 in Basin, MT. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed many happy hours hunting, fishing and gathering wood. He learned woodworking and did many beautiful projects in their yard. Chris and Melody spent fun times on "Spot" his (member of the family) Harley Davidson motorcycle. A most treasured memory was when he and Melody recently took son Codi sturgeon fishing on the Columbia River. Chris loved all of his family unconditionally and they loved him. He had a great sense of humor and loved to tease. Chris is survived by his loving wife, Melody, beloved son William Codi Wood, currently serving in the U.S. Navy stationed in Honolulu, HI, mother Wanda Wood, sister Pamela (Boyd) Redington, brother Robert Courtney (Phyllis) Wood, two nephews, Kirk Allen (Dede) Orton, Kevin (Becky) Orton, one niece, Camille (Charles) Woolsey, brother-in-law Tom Larson and other extended family members. He was preceded in death by his loving father, Blaine Wood. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 25, 3:00 p.m. at the Southern Utah Mortuary located at 190 N. 300 W. Cedar City, Utah. Originally published November 25, 2005 Ina Gardner McQuarrie BEAVER - Beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother passed away at the age of 99, In Beaver, Utah, where she lived for 75 years. She was born September 24, 1906 in Fort Duchesne, Utah. She married Edward Snow McQuarrie, M.D. in the Salt Lake Temple on November 28, 1928. He preceded her in death in 1972. She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings in the different organizations. She loved gardening, fishing, traveling and reading. She made many items using various types of handiwork, among them many beautiful quilts for her children and grand children. At 98 she was still helping make home made chocolates for Christmas gifts. She was also active in community service. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by three daughters, Ina Marie (Rex Christensen), Joyce (Dan Joseph), and Rhonda McQuarrie. She has 10 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, all living. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 26, 2005, in the First-Ward Chapel at 1:00 P.M. Viewings will be held at the church Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. and prior to the funeral beginning 11:30 A.M. to 12:30 in the Relief Society Room.
