He was born on July 25, 1934 in Cedar City, Utah to Archie Edmond and Mary Isabella Stewart Beatty. He is survived by his wife Mary Jo Beatty and three children, Rusty (Cynthia) Beatty, Lanice (Dan) Dietz, Justin (Kim) Beatty and daughter Kathy (deceased), step children, Debbi (Rick) Lund, Janiece (Mike) Swanson, Richard (Sheila) Barton, Jeff (Karman) Barton, twenty-one grandchildren and one great grandchild. Brothers and sisters include Stewart LaVon (Velva) Batty, Iris (Adrian) Fredericks, and Evelyn (Keith) Foster. He is preceded in death by his parents Arch and Mary Beatty, brother Archie Beatty, sisters Isabell Beatty, Pearl Beatty, Zelma Beatty and LaGene Beatty. William was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a Bishopric counselor twice, a counselor in the High Priest Group Leadership, and many other positions. He was also an active member of the Utah Trail Riders where he served as President. William loved to garden and do metal work. He also enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and his family. He also enjoyed working at the St. George Temple. He graduated from Hurricane High School, and joined the Army, serving our country in 1957. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. in the Cedar 4th Ward (400 North 500 West). Viewings will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Southern Utah Mortuary and Thursday, October 6, prior to services 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at the church. GEORGE - Bernice Bauer Reber returned to her Heavenly Father on Monday, October 3, 2005, surrounded by family at her home in St. George. She was born May 31, 1922, in Cedar City, Utah, a daughter of John A. and Nola Martineau Bauer. Bernice met the love of her life, Burdett Reber, in Mesquite, Nevada, and they were married October 15, 1941, in the St. George Temple. They lived in Littlefield, Arizona, until just a few years ago when they decided to make St. George their home. Born in Cedar City, Bernice was raised in Cedar City and Mesquite, and graduated from Bunkerville High School. Some of her fondest memories were that of going with her father to the saw mill on Cedar Mountain. Bernice always cherished her membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served faithfully as a visiting teacher and in various other callings throughout her life. A positive person, great listener, and wonderful giver were words that Bernice's friends and family use to describe her. She was a loving and caring wife who was always there for her husband. Bernice loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed. Surviving family include her: son, Douglas Burdett (Kathy) Reber, of Palmdale, CA; daughter, Audine "Dena" Harting, of Mesquite, NV; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Ellis Bauer, of Mesa, AZ; and two sisters, LaRue Gardner and Lynn Bryant, both of Cedar City, UT. She was preceded in death by her: husband, Burdett; parents, John and Nola; children, Beatrice Aloma Reber and Nolan J. Reber; brothers, Rondo Bauer and Brent Bauer; and sisters, Laura Mae Bauer and Doris Bauer. Originally published October 5, 2005 Vera Klungervik, 'Far Mor' Vera Klungervik, known as Far-Mor to 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, had her prayers answered and completed this turn on earth on October, 3, 2005, due to causes incident to age. She was born on January 30, 1915, in Trondheim, Norway, She married Jorgen E. Klungervik on July 30, 1939; the family was later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She is preceded in death by Jorgen and her daughter, Sylvi. She married Earl V. Hansen on April 24, 1992. He passed away two months later. Vera was instrumental in obtaining the clearances needed for the family to immigrate to the United States after World War II, arriving on March 30, 1949. She obtained her nursing degree from the old Salt Lake Area Vocational School, and worked at LDS and Cottonwood Hospitals and as a private duty nurse for many years. She lived in St. George for several years before moving back to Salt Lake. She was an active and faithful member of the LDS Church throughout her lifetime. She is survived by three sons and their families; Jarl (Beth), St. George; Jorgen A. "Bud" (Karen) West Yellowstone, Montana; Gorm (Bev), Sandy. Services commemorating her life will be held at Cannon Mortuary, 2460 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 S.), Salt Lake City, UT on Friday, October 7 at 12:00 noon. Originally published October 5, 2005 Willard Giles Humphries "Together Forever" ENTERPRISE - Willard Giles Humphries was reunited with his eternal sweeheart, Emmarene, and his Heavenly Father on October 1, 2005. Willard was born on March 8, 1923, in Hurricane, Utah to John Allen and Emma Bleak Humphries. He graduated from Hurricane High School in 1942. On April 13, 1943 he enlisted in the United States Army. He served 165 days on the front lines. While serving his country, he started writing to a young lady from Enterprise, Utah. When the war ended, he returned to Hurricane, and made a trip to Enterprise where he finally met and fell in love with Emmarene Staheli. Four months later they were married, on May 22, 1946, in the St. George LDS Temple. They lived in Hurricane and Salt Lake City before moving to Enterprise in 1948, where they have resided since. Willard was a hard worker. He worked on his farm and ranch, working side by side with his family members, teaching each of them the value of work. He has always been very active in the LDS Church, serving in many positions including, teacher, High Councilor, Bishopric member, President of the Enterprise Indian Branch, Home Teacher and choir member. He is survived by his children: Vernon (Vicky) of West Jordan, Jean Smith of Provo, Allen (Melanie), DeLaun (Tereasa) both of Enterprise, Marlene (Clive) Bunker of Las Vegas, NV., Ronald (Teresa) of Enterprise, 30 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Irene Sumsion of Orem, Ruby Jennings of Hurricane and Eleanor Stephens of Salt Lake City. He was preceded in death by his wife, son-in-law Robert Smith, and his four brothers and nine sisters. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 7, 2005, at 11 a.m., at the Enterprise LDS Stake Center, 88 S. Center St., Enterprise, Utah. GEORGE - Dorothy Elena Lee, age 63, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2005, at Kolob Care & Rehabilitation Center in St. George. She was born July 15, 1942, in LaVerkin, Utah, a daughter of Elword Albert and Roena Spendlove Lee. Dorothy was raised primarily in St. George. She attended school in Hurricane and Woodward High School in St. George. In the '80's, she worked as an EMT in Southern Utah for a period of five years. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. An extremely talented seamstress, Dorothy sewed for her family, and they loved her for it. She enjoyed doing many kinds of crafts, especially scrapbooking. She was most content when she was outdoors, whether it be camping, deer hunting, fishing, gardening, or simply taking in the beauty of Southern Utah, she treasured those times. Bingo was one of her favorite pastimes, genealogy being yet another. Dorothy was known for her "green thumb," and her flower and vegetable gardens were second to none. She always planted more than her family needed so she could share with her friends and neighbors. She was always a loving and giving woman who will be missed so very much. She is survived by her: children, Ron (Tracy) Stout, of St. George, Albert Stout, of Oregon, Carla (Chad) Brennan, of St. George, Charles "Chuck" (Tracy) Gardner, of St. George, and Alivia (Jarron) Fox, of St. George; daughters-in-law, MaryAnn Moser and Julie Foster, both of St. George; 14 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Ardella (Val) Carpenter, of Middleton; and brothers, Ward (Cindy) Lee, of Washington, and Joe (Sally) Lee, of St. George. He was born February 1, 1952 in Milford, Utah to Benjamin E. & Vera Tomsik Price. Ricky was a life long member to the Beaver County Fire Dept. In Milford. He was involved with the Milford High School Sports and was one of their biggest supporters.He loved to be in the outdoors especially hunting and fishing.He has spent the last 15 years in the Long Term Care Center.He was dearly loved by the Milford residents and was a beloved son and brother and an uncle and great uncle. He was baptized in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Jan. 11, 1998 and was married on April 27, 1999 to Tamara Saulsbury (formerly McCoy). Loving father of his four children: Kaylor, Klay, Rebeka and Brooklyn; son of Jeaneatte and Donald Saulsbury; brother of John, Chris, and Susie. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. He has touched hundreds of people throughout his life. He leaves 2 sons, Dr. Alan Young, his wife Theresa and their 5 children, Larry Young - all of Salt Lake City and Marty's devoted wife for the last 15 years - Liz and her extensive family.
