She was born May 1, 1918 in Orderville, Utah to Hester Jane Payne and Jonathan Esplin Heaton. She married Marson James Young on May 17, 1936 in Orderville, later solemnized in the St. George Temple. He died July 15, 1952. She married Murray Frances Masterson on August 15, 1957 in Flagstaff, Arizona. He died May 15, 1999. Iris was the perfect mother and grandmother. She was always loving, kind and serving of others. She enjoyed taking care of her family, and was an excellent cook, seamstress, quilter and gardener. After losing her first husband, she worked outside the home to earn a living without ever shorting the important task of raising her children. She continued to work outside the home after marrying Murray. They owned Western Auto which later became a grocery store, and also owned and operated Kanab Sheet Metal, Heating and Air Conditioning. Iris was an active member of the LDS Church. She held many callings and served faithfully in all of them. She was also active in many civic groups, including Daughters of Utah Pioneers and the Kane County Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Store. As she faced trials throughout her life, she was always positive and cheerful, never complaining about what she faced. Her smile and spirit will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. Survivors include daughters Elaine (Talife) Siufanua of Laie, Hawaii and Darlas (Clifford Sr.) Hitchcock of Kanab, Utah; sisters Everetta Crofts of Orderville, Utah and Kathleen Reese of Provo, Utah; six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was born at home on August 7, 1979, in Ogden Utah to Shane Draney and Patty Enos. Spring was a true child of nature, and was at her happiest enjoying all the beauty of the trees, wildflowers, and little creatures of the earth. She found wonder in everything she touched. Spring was a gifted poet and writer. She had recently been published and was proud of the response she received from the readers of her work. All of us who knew and love her appreciate the way she always tried her best to do the right thing and show us her love and appreciation in return. Through her many struggles she never lost faith that Jehovah would give her the strength to endure to the end. We will miss her giggle, her smile, and her great, big hugs. Spring will be missed by her parents, Shane & Pat Draney, of Hurricane Utah, Patty & Kris Enos, of Mantua Utah, her big sister Melaney (Chris) Corey, of Hooper Utah, her little sister Aleigh Enos, and adopted brother Brian Greene of Mantua, Utah, and her favorite nephew Conner, son of Aleigh and Brian. Spring also leaves behind a large extended family and many friends who were touched by her love and kindness. There will be a celebration of Spring's life on October 12th in Brigham City Utah for all her family and friends. From all of us thank you for being such a wonderful tender daughter and friend to many. He was born October 30, 1902, in Escalante, Utah, the son of Washington and Margaret Sorten Rogers. When he was a child, Bert's family moved from Escalante to Oasis, Utah, and later they moved to Spring Valley, Nevada, where his father homesteaded and ranched. Bert spent nearly his entire life ranching in Spring Valley. He was especially talented mechanically, and he kept all of the farm equipment in excellent condition. Writing poetry came easy to Bert, and blessed with a photographic mind, he never forgot a verse. He had a keen mind and loved reciting poetry and telling stories. He thoroughly enjoyed riding the bus to the Senior Citizens' Center for lunch and having conversations with his friends. A special thanks to Kirby, the bus driver. He loved the dances at the Center, especially dancing to the music of the Quinton Nisson Band. In his later years, Bert enjoyed traveling, particularly taking cruises. For those who knew Bert, they would recognize him as being a most charitable man. He sponsored women's softball teams and called the teams "Bert's Girls" or "Rogers Ranch." He always supported the Senior Citizens' Center with generous donations. He loved people and it showed. He was a member of the Ely Elks Lodge most of his life. Bert never married. His philosophy was "I'd rather make seven women happy than one miserable." He left a lasting impression on the lives that he touched. He is survived by his: caregivers, Natalie Andrus and Barbara Berrett, both of St. George, UT; cousins, Jay Rogers and Daisy College, both of Fillmore, UT, and RuJean Brunson, of Salt Lake City, UT; and many, many friends.
