He passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on October 6, 2005.He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force during WWII (1942-1945) He served as a cryptographer, deciphering codes.He was also an expert in Thompson submachine guns.Arleigh served in the battles of Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and in Central Europe. He received an American Theater of Operations Service Ribbon, European African Middle Eastern Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and a Victory Medal.He was honorably discharged in 1945 at the rank of Sergeant. Arleigh married Retha Mae Roper on November 24, 1951 in Pioche, Nevada.He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 43 years.Arleigh is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Lucille and Betty and on granddaughter JoDee Arlene. He is survived by his beautiful wife of 54 years Retha, sons Greg (Peggy), George (Penny), Scott and Alan (Jodi) and 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews and one sister, Dorothy. Per his request, he was cremated.There will be no funeral services held.A celebration of his life was held by his family on Saturday October 8, 2005.Many thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Milford Long Term Care Center.Thanks also to friends and family for their prayers and support. GEORGE - Our loving and dignified wife and mother, Jackine Slade McCullough passed away peacefully Friday, October 14, 2005, in St George, Utah. She was the daughter of Franklin "Jack" Slade and June Tietjen Slade. Jackine was born on November 19, 1927, as well as raised at 1018 Blaine Ave. in Salt Lake City. Blaine Ave. was also the place that she met and married the love of her life, James Elden "Jim" McCullough, on May 8th, 1946. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Jackine was a loving and caring stay-at-home Mom until all of her five children were in school, after which she began her various other careers, including the startup of the Utah Heart Association and working many years for the University of Michigan with the Survey Research Center in the Salt Lake area. She also worked for Utah Craft & Novelty on State Street and with her son, Frank, as a Manager for his storage businesses. Jackine loved the great out-of-doors and traveling with her darling Jim, and especially fell in love with Southwest Utah and the beautiful red rock deserts. She enjoyed spending time looking at beautiful gardens and scenery. She loved her Church, and spent many years in its service, including a great deal of time with the youth programs, and the Relief Society. Jackine always greeted everyone with a smile, and she will be remembered for her great kindnesses. She refused to let anyone know that she had so many different health problems and pain throughout her life. Jackine is survived by her: husband, Jim; and by her five children, Jan (Dave) Nelson, Frank (Marion) McCullough, Rand (Shauna) McCullough, Kirk (Vanessa) McCullough, and Brooke McCullough Milne; and a total of 23 grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Services will be held at the Leeds LDS Chapel in Leeds, Utah, at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 18, 2005. Friends of the family may visit from9:30 a.m. until time of services at the Chapel. For her Salt Lake friends, graveside services will be held at Wasatch Lawn Cemetery, 3400 S.
