Born February 2, 1929, to Rolen Duane Jess and Nellie Miller Swan in Penfield, NY. She married William Devon Black, May 18, 1951, at the Hill Cumorah Visitors Center, Palmyra, NY. They were sealed June 21, 1951, in the Manti Temple. She lived life giving love and service to her husband, children, grandchildren, friends, church and anyone in need. Her passing has left a void in our hearts and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband; 5 sons and 4 daughters: Paul (Marlena), Gary (Debbie), Duane (Mindy), Aaron (Amy), Janell Brown, Lyle (DeeAnn), Ranee Ferbrache (Ken), Janee Shepherd (Larry), Leah Redden (Daren), 34 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; her brother and 4 sisters: Ronald Jess (Dolores-deceased), Nancy Jess, Patricia Fisher (Dave), Bonnie Hunt (Don), and Sally Hujik. Preceded in death by her parents, eldest daughter Naomi Belva and eldest son William Douglas Black (Barbara). Services will be held Thursday, October 20th at 10 a.m., Farmington South Stake Center 695 South 200 East, Farmington, UT. Viewing will be held Wednesday, October 19th from 6-8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 1941 North Main Street, Farmington, UT. Interment Farmington City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Missionary Fund. www.russonmortuary.com Originally published October 19, 2005 Loyd Eugene Hunt RICHFIELD - Loyd Eugene Hunt, 90, of Richfield, Utah, passed away October 17, 2005, in Beaver, Utah. He was born May 2, 1915, in Bluff, Utah, to Joseph Anthony and Charlotte Elizabeth Tanner Hunt. He married Donna Anderson in 1938. Born to this union were Marlan, Gordon, Marie and Bruce. He also raised Thelma Price and Victoria Fong as his own. In later years he married Marian Crane Ainsworth Humphrey. He was very ambitious and taught his children the value of work. He labored at various occupations some of which were trucking, building construction, and he retired from Kennecott Copper in Ely, Nevada. He was an excellent craftsman remodeling every home he lived in and built his last residence in Richfield when he was 65 years old. He was an avid gardener and loved to share his produce with family and friends. At the age of 80 he was still cutting wood posts commercially. He is survived by his children, Gordon E. (Carma) Hunt; Marie (John) Christiansen, both of Beaver; R. Bruce (Maryetta) Hunt, Ely, Nev; Victoria (Stephen) Kesler, Rifle, CO; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Gerald Myers, Greeley, CO; daughter-in-law, Josette Hunt, Phoenix, Ariz; brother, Berl (Juana) Hunt, Elsinore; sister, Julia Petty, Sandy; also survived by Marian's children from previous marriage. He is preceded in death by his wife, Marian; son Marlan; daughter, Thelma; four sisters and four brothers: Reva Nelson, Inez Michaelson, Ina Lee, Zella Hunt, Joseph LeRoy Hunt, John Donald Hunt, Loren Vivian Hunt and Harold Hunt. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 22, 2005, at 1:00 p.m. in the Magleby Mortuary Chapel, (50 S. 100 W. Richfield). Online guest book at www.maglebymortuary.com Originally published October 19, 2005 Geneva Ashworth Macfarlane PAROWAN - Geneva (Neva) Ashworth Macfarlane age 84 passed away on October 17, 2005 at her home in St. George, Utah. She was born on March 5, 1921 in Lund, Nevada to James Webster and Marie Oxborrow Ashworth. She was married to LaMon (Monte) Macfarlane on April 26, 1941 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He preceded her in death on February 3, 2002. Neva attended schools in Ruth and Ely, Nevada graduating from White Pine High School as the valedictorian. She was proud to have worked at Lockheed Aircraft Corp during World War II driving her motorcycle with sidecar. After working in the grocery business for many years she went to work for the US Postal Service until her retirement in 1983. After her retirement she and Monte traveled the back roads of the West and spent ten enjoyable winters in their motor home at Tonopah, Arizona. In 1992, they permanently retired to St. George, Utah. Neva is survived by a daughter Gaye Lynn (Jerry) Munford of Parowan, Utah, a son James (Lisa) Macfarlane of Salt Lake City, Utah, eight grandsons and one granddaughter, five great-grandsons, five great granddaughters, one great-great granddaughter, and sister Laurie Beckstrom of Salt Lake City. She was also preceded in death by a daughter Jan, her parents, brothers Theo, Robert and Gaylin, and sister Itha. We would like to thank Dr. Saifee and Marsha at the Snow Canyon Clinic for their wonderful medical care, Southern Utah Home Health and Hospice for the loving home care given to our sweet mother. Special thanks to dear friend Rose Blauer for always being there. Graveside services will be held at the Parowan City Cemetery on Thursday, October 20, 2005 at 1:00 in the afternoon.
