She died incidental to aging on September 2, 2005 in St. George, Utah. She was the third child of Ella Boshears and Mitchell Thomas. At age 17 she attended college in Maryville, Tennessee and later Bowling Green, Kentucky to obtain a teaching certificate. Riding company shuttle trains, she taught elementary school in small mining towns located in Kentucky. She married David Basil O'Bryan in 1937 moving to Corbin, Kentucky. It was in this small town, that a large decayed tree from the neighbor's yard fell on her during a wind storm. The resulting injury, surgeries at Mayo Clinic and steel braces would shape events for the rest of her life and restrict her mobility. As the effects of the accident became more pronounced, she relocated to Tucson, Arizona in 1972 to be closer to children and grandchildren living in California and Arizona. Since her move to St. George, Utah in 1994 she has had to accept a curtailment of activities and the lack of mobility. She is survived by her children, David B.
