After an illness of 18 hours Lucretia Maria beloved wife of Wm. N. Marler, sen., and daughter of Samuel and Lydia Gates of Bingham Fort, Weber Co., Utah. Deceased was born Oct. 7th 1837, in Levan Wayne Co., Michigan. She emigrated to Utah with her parents in the year 1852; was the mother of 14 children of which 9 are left to mourn her loss. She became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints while very young, was a true and faithful wife, a kind and affectionate mother. She was First Counselor in the Relief society of Clifton and was a live and active woman in the position. She died as she lived a faithful Latter-day Saint in the hopes of a glorious resurrection with the just.
