She was born January 3, 1926 in Ogden, Utah. She was a daughter of Bessie Scott and Frederick Adam. She was a member of the Ogden Jackson Ward. A native of Ogden, she attended Madison Elementary School, Central Junior High School, graduated from Ogden High School in 1944 and attended Weber State College. She served an L.D.S. Mission in the Great Lakes Mission where she spent most of her time proselyting in Indiana. She also served in the Ogden L.D.S. Temple for nine years, taught in the mission home in Salt Lake City for six years and was a missionary instructor for the Mount Ogden Stake. She worked in the office of Congressman Blaine Peterson in Washington, D.C. She served as the treasurer of the Weber County Democrats Association. She served as a Deputy County Clerk and was the Ogden City Recorder for nineteen years. She was named president of the Utah Municipal Clerks Association. Her commitment to Ogden and the long tenure to public service have brought her recognition from her peers among the municipalities in Utah. She has the well-deserved distinction of being named Outstanding Appointed Official by the Utah League of Cities and Towns. She had many wonderful experiences traveling to different countries around the world. She traveled with a dear lady friend, Charlene Rookhuyzen, whom has been a close friend for over forty-five years. She is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. Surviving are one sister, Mary McCarthy of Ogden; two brothers, Derrell (Kay) Adam of Murray and Robert (Marlene) Adam of Ogden and many nieces and nephews. Donna was a very loving and caring person and appreciated all of those who cared for her. The family is very grateful to the staff of Emeritus Assisted Living for the tender, patient and loving care they extended to Donna during her five-year stay. BRIGHAM CITY - Dean Sterling Craghead, 77, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2005 at the Huntsman Cancer Center after a courageous fight with cancer. He was born on July 7, 1927 in Brigham City, Utah, a son of William Henry and Urania Gertrude Petersen. Dean married Shirley Jean Jensen on January 3, 1949 in Brigham City, Utah. Dean retired in 1991 as a union pipe fitter with Moss Industrial in Woods Cross. He loved fishing, hunting, was an avid rock hounder, made rock jewelry, loved gardening and enjoyed woodworking. Dean would go every day faithfully for 10 years to D.I. and was known as the wood man. Surviving is his wife, Shirley, Brigham City; four daughters, Jackie Dean (Ron) Craghead-Cevering, Ogden; Lois Jean (Dave) Reese; Ogden; Sharon Joan Skenandore, Brigham City; Deana Irene (Donald) Ross, Brigham City; 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; three brothers, Robert, Brigham City; Dennis, Logan; LeRoy, Ogden; three sisters, Marie Larsen, Corinne; Maxine Fonnesbeck, Logan; Rita Mae Jeppesen, Brigham City. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Barbara Ann Craghead, one grandson, Kerry Lynn Warren, one sister and two brothers. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2005 at 1 p.m. at the Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City, Utah. Fisk, Brenda Lee Brenda Lee Fisk 1961-2005 Our cherished mother, grandmother and friend, passed away Wednesday March 30,2005. Brenda was born January 3. 1961 to Jack Hicks and Irene Lopez. She married John A. Fisk on June 8. 1979. They later divorced. This union brought three beautiful sons into her life to which she devoted her heart and soul. She gave unselfishly to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed by all. It is a comfort to all who knew her to know she is watching over those she loved and cared for. She is survived by her sons, John Fisk of Toole, Ut., Jeremy Fisk of Mesquite, Nv. and her baby boy Jared Fisk of Mesquite, Nv. She was also blessed with seven beautiful grandchildren. She is also survived by her father, two sisters, brother, several nieces and nephews and many other relatives. She was preceded in death by her Mother, Aunt and Grandmother. A Memorial Service will be held 2 P.M. Wednesday, April 6th at 2137 No. 600 East North, Ogden, Utah. In Lieu of flowers donations wo uld be appreciated to help her boys with funeral expenses. Hansen, Morris Morris Hansen Morris Hansen passed away April 2, 2005 after a short illness. He was born May 26, 1919 in Syracuse, Utah to Clyde and Hannah Hansen. He was married to Lizette Stuart of Ogden on November 26, 1939 in Farmington, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They were married for 65 years. They lived in Salt Lake City for one year before moving to Ogden to open a building materials business. In 1952 they moved to his hometown of Syracuse where they have lived until now. In 1941 Morris, at the age of 21, started a building material business in Ogden with his uncle Olie. His father and brothers later joined him in the business which became Hansen Lumber Company. They retired from the business in 1987. Morris was a U.S. Navy veteran having served in World Ward II in the Pacific Theater from 1944-46. He served on the Davis County school board from 1965-79, was a member of the Utah State House of Representatives from 1981-85, a member of the Board of Tru stees of Weber State College from 1985-95 and a member of the Syracuse City Planning Commission. At various times he served as a member of the South Ogden Kiwanis, Syracuse Lions Club, the Mount Ogden Rotary and the Ogden Golf and Country Club. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Ben Lomond Golf Course and Humana Hospital. An active member of the L.D.S. Church, he served on the Y.M.M.I.A. General board, the Weber State College Stake High Council, the Syracuse Stake High Council, Sunday School President, Scout Master, Home Teacher and Ordinance Worker in the Ogden Temple for 15 years. He is survived by his wife Lizette, one daughter Judy (Chub) Meibos of Pleasant View, Utah; one son David (Kathy) Hansen of Sandy, Utah; three grandchildren, Wendy Downing of San Francisco, Claire (Bret) Mortensen of Highland, Utah, and Katie (David) Bruno of Idaho Falls, Idaho; five great grandchildren, Zachary, Jacob, Adam, Taylor, Ethan; and one brother, Norman (Faye) of Syracuse. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers Russell and Gordon; and sisters Maurine and Charlotte. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Syracuse Bluff Ward, 2500 S. Swayngim, Kyle Douglas FARR WEST - Kyle Douglas Swayngim, 27, died Thursday, March 31 in an avalanche while snowmobiling. He was born October 3, 1977 in Ogden, Utah, a son of Harry Douglas Swayngim and Zelda Hamblin Moyes. Kyle married his sweetheart, Jennifer Welty, on June 23, 2001. They loved spending their time riding in the mountains and sand dunes. They also loved their babies Buddy and Zuess. Kyle grew up in Ogden, graduating from Ben Lomond High School in 1996. Kyle was an Eagle Scout. He worked at Parker Hannifin Corporation. He is survived by his wife; his parents; one sister, Dena Jo (Darin) Smith, West Point and three brothers, Brian Swayngim, Farr West; Roydel Swayngim, Farr West and Shaun Swayngim, Ogden. He has his nieces and nephew that love him very much. He is also survived by his grandmother, Katy Swayngim, Hampton, VA. Kyle has his in-laws, stepparents and many aunts, uncles and cousins that he has had many fun times with. Kyle was preceded in death by his gran dparents; Parley and LeRaine Hamblin and Harry Swayngim. Kyle loved the outdoors, camping, riding the dunes, snowmobiling, the thrill of riding fast and jumping high, and spending countless hours with his friends in Apartment B. Kyle, you are loved and will be missed very much by everyone that knew you. The property and the dunes will never be the same without you. Tolman, Ruth Olsen Hunsaker Ruth Olsen Hunsaker Tolman HONEYVILLE - Ruth, at 94, passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2005. She was born on February 11, 1911, in Brigham City, Utah, to Rupert Peter and Genieve Ann Blackburn Olsen. A graduate of Box Elder High and Quish Beauty School, Ruth operated her beauty shop for 50 years. Ruth married Orvil Elijah Hunsaker in 1945 in the Logan LDS Temple. He preceded her in death in 1948. In February 1978 she was married to Ralph W. Tolman until his death in July 2000. She was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving three missions, serving also as Relief Society President, as Stake Young Women's President, and officiating at the Ogden LDS Temple. Surviving are four children: Joan Stokes, Tremonton, Utah; Orvil Glade (Judith) Hunsaker, Provo; Letty (Norm) Halladay, Brigham City; Betty (Boyd) Helquist, Provo; 22 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; four sisters, Mary Pieper; Mae Redlings; Edith Chris tensen; Roxcy Welch. She was preceded in death by two sons-in-law, Jay M. Stokes and David C. Tolman, three grandchildren, one sister and three brothers. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at 11 a.m. at the Honeyville 3rd Ward Chapel, 2620 West 6980 North.
