She was born January 3, 1926 in Ogden, Utah. She was a daughter of Bessie Scott and Frederick Adam. She was a member of the Ogden Jackson Ward. A native of Ogden, she attended Madison Elementary School, Central Junior High School, graduated from Ogden High School in 1944 and attended Weber State College. She served an L.D.S. Mission in the Great Lakes Mission where she spent most of her time proselyting in Indiana. She also served in the Ogden L.D.S. Temple for nine years, taught in the mission home in Salt Lake City for six years and was a missionary instructor for the Mount Ogden Stake. She worked in the office of Congressman Blaine Peterson in Washington, D.C. She served as the treasurer of the Weber County Democrats Association. She served as a Deputy County Clerk and was the Ogden City Recorder for nineteen years. She was named president of the Utah Municipal Clerks Association. Her commitment to Ogden and the long tenure to public service have brought her recognition from her peers among the municipalities in Utah. She has the well-deserved distinction of being named Outstanding Appointed Official by the Utah League of Cities and Towns. She had many wonderful experiences traveling to different countries around the world. She traveled with a dear lady friend, Charlene Rookhuyzen, whom has been a close friend for over forty-five years. She is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. Surviving are one sister, Mary McCarthy of Ogden; two brothers, Derrell (Kay) Adam of Murray and Robert (Marlene) Adam of Ogden and many nieces and nephews. Donna was a very loving and caring person and appreciated all of those who cared for her. The family is very grateful to the staff of Emeritus Assisted Living for the tender, patient and loving care they extended to Donna during her five-year stay. Barkdull, Betty Betty Smith Barkdull passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family April 2, 2005 at the age of 76. Born in Kentucky June 12, 1928, she grew up with her parents, Geneva Simmons Smith and William H. Smith in St. Louis, Missouri, and her beloved grandparents, Cleve and Phoebe Simmons in Welsh, Louisiana. She married her soul mate, George H. Barkdull, Farmington, Utah, who passed away May 2001, just six days short of their 50th wedding anniversary. She is survived by a daughter, Carenlee Barkdull, and her husband Bret Weber, North Salt Lake, Utah and by a son, Cleve Barkdull and his wife Darlene, of Bountiful, Utah. She also is survived by her four loving grandchildren, George Barkdull, Oceanside, CA; Matt Barkdull, Bountiful; Dylan Weber, Salt Lake City; and Alexander Blue Weber, Ogden. One of the great joys of the last months of her life was meeting her adorable great grandchild, Riley Eve Barkdull, daughter of George and his lovely wife, Amy Mueller Barkdull . Our most heartfelt thanks to the dedicated nursing staff at St. Mark's Hospital and to the many physicians, technicians, and pastoral staff who also provided such competent and compassionate care. We have been deeply touched by the kindness and caring of so many, but must especially express our love and gratitude to Dr. LeGrand Belnap, Terri Neeley, R.N. and Father Lincoln Ure. He was born September 5, 1914, in Bountiful, UT, to Edmund and Lucy Garrett Barlow. He grew up in Bountiful and attended Davis High School. He worked in Santa Monica, CA, until he was called to serve an LDS mission in Australia. After his mission, Haven married Velma Elizabeth Kunzler on May 17, 1938. They have been loving companions for almost 67 years. He owned and operated Mayfair market and Family Furniture in Layton for many years. He served as the president of the Layton LDS Stake for 20 years, and thereafter as a sealer in the Ogden LDS Temple and as Layton LDS Stake patriarch for 30 years. Haven is survived by his wife, Velma; children Charles (Laurel) Barlow, Ronald (Nancy) Barlow, Gary (Patricia) Barlow, Yvonne (Brent) Halls as well as 32 grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by daughters Velma (Tom) Riley and Marilyn Barlow, two brother s and six sisters. His immediate family surrounded him. He was born to Ethel Doris Kidman and Francis Weston Bench in River Heights, Utah. He married Geraldine Leavitt which was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. He served in the Navy during WWII. After returning from the war he returned to school to earn his high school diploma. He worked at Hill Air Force Base where he retired in 1977. Tom was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he served in many positions. Donna was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed embroidery and trips to Wendover. Donna is survived by a son, Arlo D. Read, Kearns; three daughters, Linda L. Died April 2, 2005 at her home in Eden. "God saw that she was getting tired and a cure was not to be, so he put his arms around her and whispered, "Come with me." With tearful eyes we watched her suffer and saw her fade away. Although we loved her dearly we could not make her stay. A golden heart stopped beating, busy little hands to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, he only takes the best. It's lonesome here without you, we miss you so each day. Our lives aren't the same, since you went away. When days are sad and lonely, and everything goes wrong. We seem to hear you whisper, "Cheer up and carry on." Each time we see your picture, you seem to smile and say, "Don't cry, I'm in God's keeping, we'll meet again someday." Pat married Jack Bockas in July 1953 and they were together until Jack's death in January 1984. Pat and Jack were soul mates and best of friends. Pat was never th e same after Jack died. Pat loved the mountains and snow skiing. She loved sailing and the oceans. Her perfect place to live would be with the ocean at her front door and the mountains at her back door. Pat loved sunsets and sunrises. She worked at the European Health Spas in Ogden and Reno. She also enjoyed gardening, traveling, reading, antiques, fine art, jigsaw puzzles, games, walking, gambling, wind chimes and entertaining. Pat loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Pat and Jack enjoyed traveling. They especially loved the island of Hawaii and the Windjammer Cruise to the Caribbean Islands. Pat also traveled to Europe, South America, Australia and New Zealand. Pat was preceded in death by her husband, mother and father. Pat is survived by her four children and their spouses; Janet and Jim Deschaine, Sherrie and Sanford Hall, Norman Bockas, Randy and Tammy Bockas. Also surviving are her eight grandchildren, Nichole, Katie, Briana, Tahnee, James, Gus, Annie and Forrest; four sisters and three brothers and their spouses, Loretta (Putt) and Richard Nordquist, Jeane and Leslie Turner, Dick and Pat Tatro, Maxine Johns, Ronald Tatro, Don and Marilyn Tatro and Nancy and Bob Osborne. The family would like to thank those who helped take care of Pat in the last years of her life on earth. Our angels: Jan, Linda, Jennifer and Tammy. Pat is in a much better place and free from all the pain and suffering, which she endured for such a long time. Fisk, Brenda Lee Brenda Lee Fisk 1961-2005 Our cherished mother, grandmother and friend, passed away Wednesday March 30,2005. Brenda was born January 3. 1961 to Jack Hicks and Irene Lopez. She married John A. Fisk on June 8. 1979. They later divorced. This union brought three beautiful sons into her life to which she devoted her heart and soul. She gave unselfishly to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed by all. It is a comfort to all who knew her to know she is watching over those she loved and cared for. She is survived by her sons, John Fisk of Toole, Ut., Jeremy Fisk of Mesquite, Nv. and her baby boy Jared Fisk of Mesquite, Nv. She was also blessed with seven beautiful grandchildren. HURRICANE, UT - Anna Klara Gilson, 70, returned to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, April 3, 2005 at McKay-Dee Hospital. She was born January 5, 1935 in Weselberg, Germany, a daughter of Karl and Anna Bastian Hartkorn. On May 20, 1959, Anna married Richard Gilson in Pirmasens, Germany. She had lived in South Ogden, Utah for 25 years and moved to Hurricane, Utah three years ago. Anna was a charter member of Holy Family Catholic Church in South Ogden and was last a member of Saint George Catholic Church in St. George, Utah. Anna was the top salesperson in the fine jewelry department at Ogden Z.C.M.I. for over 20 years. She loved her daily walks, gardening, camping and spending time with her family and friends. Most of all, she enjoyed entertaining on her patio, appreciating the wildlife and the beautiful vistas. Anna maintained friendships that lasted her entire lifetime and spanned the globe. She never had a friend that she didn't keep. Surviving are her husband Richard, of Hurricane, UT; one son and one daughter, Richard (Katherine) Gilson, Florence KY; Carol Parsons, Roy, UT; and three grandchildren, Eric, Matt and Sydney. Anna is also survived by one sister, Rosemarie (Arno) Sehy, Rheinhausen, Germany. He was born May 26, 1919 in Syracuse, Utah to Clyde and Hannah Hansen. He was married to Lizette Stuart of Ogden on November 26, 1939 in Farmington, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They were married for 65 years. They lived in Salt Lake City for one year before moving to Ogden to open a building materials business. In 1952 they moved to his hometown of Syracuse where they have lived until now. In 1941 Morris, at the age of 21, started a building material business in Ogden with his uncle Olie. His father and brothers later joined him in the business which became Hansen Lumber Company. They retired from the business in 1987. Morris was a U.S. Navy veteran having served in World Ward II in the Pacific Theater from 1944-46. He served on the Davis County school board from 1965-79, was a member of the Utah State House of Representatives from 1981-85, a member of the Board of Tru stees of Weber State College from 1985-95 and a member of the Syracuse City Planning Commission. At various times he served as a member of the South Ogden Kiwanis, Syracuse Lions Club, the Mount Ogden Rotary and the Ogden Golf and Country Club. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Ben Lomond Golf Course and Humana Hospital. An active member of the L.D.S. Church, he served on the Y.M.M.I.A. General board, the Weber State College Stake High Council, the Syracuse Stake High Council, Sunday School President, Scout Master, Home Teacher and Ordinance Worker in the Ogden Temple for 15 years. He is survived by his wife Lizette, one daughter Judy (Chub) Meibos of Pleasant View, Utah; one son David (Kathy) Hansen of Sandy, Utah; three grandchildren, Wendy Downing of San Francisco, Claire (Bret) Mortensen of Highland, Utah, and Katie (David) Bruno of Idaho Falls, Idaho; five great grandchildren, Zachary, Jacob, Adam, Taylor, Ethan; and one brother, Norman (Faye) of Syracuse. OGDEN - Frances Juanita McAlister Heath passed away in Ogden, Utah, on Sunday, April 3, at age 86 from causes incident to age although she has suffered from multiple sclerosis for more than 50 years. She was born on October 2, 1918 in Ramona, Oklahoma, the daughter of Earl M. McAlister and Orah Ethel McIntyre McAlister. She graduated from Rawlins, Wyoming High School. She married Kenneth A. Heath on June 2, 1938 in Parco, now named Sinclair, Wyoming. Frances had two children: Catherine L. Heath Wesenberg and Frank K. Heath. She is survived by her two children, six grandchildren: Donna Wesenberg, Darrel Wesenberg, Brian (Summer) Heath, Robin Heath, David (Stephanie) Heath, and Michael Heath; two great grandchildren; Shalyn Heath and Kyle Heath; a brother and two sisters: Earl J. Chloe was born October 28, 1921 to David and Leah Huckstraser Webb at the Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah and was raised in Willard, Utah. She married Bert J. Herrick on October 29, 1945; they have been married for 59 years. Chloe is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. On December 25, 1970 she retired from IRS. Surviving are her husband, Bert; four children, Diane (Tom) Hinkle, Racine, WS, Scott (Vicki) Herrick, Clinton, UT, Cal B. Collings and Raone Rader Collings. Debbie grew up in Brigham City and graduated from Box Elder High School in 1973. She married Marc Larsen on October 25, 1974. She was a member of the Forest Hills LDS Ward. Debbie worked at IRS. She was a kind, thoughtful mother and wife. She loved reading, sleeping late, hamsters, bunnies, Mustangs and spoiling her boys. She also enjoyed spending endless hours on her computer at home. Surviving are her husband, Marc, sons, Erik M. Larsen and Aaron M. Lee, Morris Kent BRIGHAM CITY - Morris Kent Lee, 88, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2005 in Brigham City UT. He was born in Brigham City, Utah Dec. 10, 1916 to Oscar Severin Lee and Lettie Rose Lee. Kent graduated from Box Elder High School and Weber State College. Kent served as a pilot in the US Army Air Corps and in the United States Air Force from 1939 to 1 945. During WWII he was stationed in California, England and Florida. He was a member of America's Greatest Generation. Kent was later employed for 34 years by the Utah State Department of Transportation as a Civil Engineer. He married Oreta Pearl Hawks Morris on Sept. 21, 1940. They raised five children together; Jerry Morris, Janet Morris Williams, Charles, Douglas and Rebecca Lee. Kent was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served in many callings and was a faithful home teacher. Later in life, he enjoyed attending the temple regularly with his wife, Oreta. Kent is survived by his children, Jerry A. and Audreen Morris of Centerville and Janet and Leland Williams of Brigham City; Charles K. and Bonnie Lee of Campbell, CA; E. Douglas and Elisabeth Lee of Anchorage, AK and Rebecca Lee of Ogden. One brother, Scott Lee of St. George as well as 22 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren also survive him. Sorensen Manley, age 87, passed away at the Bel Aire Assisted Living home in Orem, Utah on March 31, 2005. She was born June 13, 1917 in Ogden, Utah to Peter Andrew and Lucy Smith Sorensen. She married Lorenz F. Manley June 5, 1935 in Ogden. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death July 3, 2000. In her early years Elva enjoyed sewing, crocheting and taking care of her family. She enjoyed traveling and being involved with the Airstream Trailer Club with her husband Lorenz and supporting him in his leadership positions. Dale OGDEN - Curtis Dale Marshall, 73, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2005 at his home following a short illness. He was born January 11, 1932 in Ogden, Utah to Curtis Henry and Alice Maxine Barth Marshall. He married Frances Holliday on August 29, 1951 in the Salt Lake Temple. He lovingly cared for Frances for 52 years, especially in the final years of her life. She preceded him in death on June 3, 2004. Dale was a Captain for the Ogden City Fire Department where he retired after 27 years of service. He also worked at H & D Delivery Service, Barton Truckline and Deseret Industries. He was a former member of the Ogden Utah Lorin Farr Stake, most currently a member of the Ogden Utah North LDS 3rd Ward. He was active as Young Men's president, in High Priest group leadership, Bishopric, High Council, and was a dedicated Home Teacher even in his final days. Dale didn't care how important the calling was in the church, just how well the service was rendered. Dale was a wonderf ul father and provider. Most important to Dale was being with his family. He cherished his children and grandchildren. He was happiest when his home was filled with family. He will be remembered for his example to his family and his charitable service to others. He loved to work in his garden and his home was surrounded with beautiful flowers. He loved to raise doves, pigeons, ducks, pheasants, chickens, and rabbits. Surviving are two daughters and one son, Terri L. (Lloyd) Barnett, Syracuse, UT; Cindy (Ken) Allen, Bellevue, ID; Kevin D. (Kathryn) Marshall, Ogden, UT; eight grandchildren; Kristi, Chad, Natalie, Landon, Tami, Cole, Marshall and Micay; and five great-grandchildren; Joshua, Jessica, Kaden, Connor and Alexis. Also surviving are two sisters and one brother, Artis Hicks, Ogden, UT; Eldon Marshall, Salt Lake City, UT; and Carma Bennett, West Haven, UT. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sister Arlene Peterson. A special thanks to a granddaughter Tami, who lovi ngly cared for Dale and Frances in their final years. Jean 1925 - 2005 KAYSVILLE - Terry Jean Matthews, 79, returned peacefully to her family on Sunday, April 2, 2005. She had been suffering from the effects of emphysema and lung cancer. She had resided at St. Marks Gardens in Kaysville, Utah since June of 1995, where she had many wonderful friends and close associations. She was born December 30, 1925 to Q. Thatcher and Virginia Golightly in Preston, Idaho. She attended school in Preston and later lived in Idaho, San Diego, Salt Lake City and Boise, Idaho. In her younger years, she was a talented singer and preformed professionally in Idaho. For more than forty years, she was a career chef and was well known for her extraordinary culinary skills. He was born on July 28, 1941 in May, Idaho to Claude O and Olive J Morin. His family moved to New Meadows, Idaho where he spent most of his childhood, then moved to Ogden in 1957. He attended Weber High and met his lifetime sweetheart Judy Volker. They married December 21, 1963 in St. Paul Lutheran Church. Forest received his degree in Forestry from Utah State University in 1965 and pursued his career with the Forest Service spending 26 years in various parts of Montana and finished his career in Lemmon, SD retiring in 1998. During his career he received an award in Washington D.C. for his elk and cattle study on Fleecer mountain. Forest was a devoted Christian, always serving in different capacities of the church throughout his lifetime. Being a talented handyman, he always enjoyed helping other people with any fix-it project. His interests included horseback riding and coll ecting and restoring antique cars. Forest is survived by his wife Judy, his daughter Trudie (Eddie) Kesler of Sandy; father Claude (Elaine) of Ogden; brother Claude Jr. (Bonnie) of Brookings, OR; mother-in-law Gladys Volker, two grandsons Duncan and Connor Kesler and 12 Godchildren. Myers, 82, passed away March 31st at Dixie Regional Hospital in St. George, Utah following a brief illness. She was born February 7, 1923 in American Fork, Utah to LaVerl Adamson and Sarah Rachel Carlson Adamson. Ruth married Jack Myers April 30, 1941 in Provo, Utah. They lived in Layton, Clearfield, and Syracuse, Utah and Lincoln, Montana before moving to Mesquite, Nevada in 1994. Jack passed away August 19, 1995. Preceding Ruth in death were 4 infant siblings, a teenaged brother, Harry, her parents, her husband Jack, and sisters, Mary Ricks and Ann Carlson. Survivors include sons Jerry A. (Betty) Myers, Mantua, Utah and Donald L. Myers, Lincoln, Montana; grandchildren Teri (Larry) Basinger, Brigham City, Utah and Wayne (Heather) Myers, Portage, Utah; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen Dunmire and Julia Fivas and brother, Paul (June) Adamson, and several nieces and nephews. She was born August 20, 1907 in Costonya, Italy, a daughter of William F. and Marie Perry Gigliotti. On October 7, 1922, Della married Tony Pagliaro in Helper, Utah. Tony preceded her in death on July 18, 1982. Surviving are one daughter, Helen VanHouten, South Ogden; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, one brother, Frank Gigliotti, Price, UT; and one sister, Emma Battagliotti, Washington Terrace. Roderick, Mary Emma Williams MALAD, Idaho - Mary Emma Williams Roderick, 83, passed away on March 31, 2005, of Pulmonary Fibrosis, at her home in Malad. She was born February 9, 1922 in Malad, Idaho, a daughter of Arthur T. and Nora Harrison Williams. She married Farrel Williams July 22, 1938 and their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on April 22, 1948. Seven children were born to this marriage. Farrell passed away on August 18, 1976. On December 9, 1977 she married John J. Roderick. She has spent her life in service of her family, community and church. She worked as an LPN at the Oneida County Hospital for many years. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in all of her callings. She is survived by her husband: John J. Roderick of Malad; three sons: Farrel Dale (Eileen) Williams; Bartley Edwin (Carol) Williams and Michael Arthur (Jean) Williams, all of Malad; four daughters: Marylyn (Rees) Roundy of Wellsville, U tah; Rosalee Lamb of Malad; Julie (LaMonte) Waldron of Weston, Idaho; Jeanetta (Bart) Flint of Malad; six sisters: June Jones, Dillon Montana; Lucille Olsen of Malta, ID; Nora Price of Malad; Darlene (Harold) Nielsen, Hanna Lou Williams and Barbara (Dennis) Bingham all of Malad; 39 grandchildren, 95 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren; one stepdaughter: Patsy (Andy) Bybee of Malad; eight step-grandchildren, and 23 step-great-grandchildren. Stimpson, Blake Allen OGDEN - Blake Allen Stimpson, 27, peacefully died Monday, April 1, 2005 at his home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born March 3, 1978 in Ogden, a son of Paul Stimpson and Rhonda Huffaker Joa. He was raised and educated in Ogden. Blake graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1996. Blake was active in the U.S. Air Force, Dyess AFB, Abilene, Texas for six years and was retired due to health in 2004. His hobbies and interests were NASCAR, fly fishing, movies, family, and friends. Tuck, Nolan James BRIGHAM CITY - Our father, Nolan James Tuck, 85, passed away on April 3, 2005. He died peacefully in the company of his family. Dad was born June 22, 1919 in St. Anthony, Idaho. He was the second child of Rosella Archibald and Eldridge A. Tuck. Growing up on a farm in Chinook, Montana with his three brothers and three sisters, provided lots of happy memories and a strong work ethic. He had his first paying job as a turkey herder at age six and continued working many jobs to earn money to buy his own 160-acre farm before he graduated from high school. Dad was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many ward and stake positions. Nolan married Marie Troxel on October 28, 1938 in Havre, Montana. They were blessed with one daughter before Marie passed away May 1941. Nelda Pedersen came into his life after he moved to Ogden, Utah with his daughter to work. They were married on July 31, 1942 in the Logan Utah Temple. Blessings continued with five additional daughters and two sons. Dad served his country in the Army Air Corps during World War II in a special unit training pilots. For 29 years, Dad was a well-known and respected businessman in the retail drug store industry. His career included managing stores for Payless, Sav-On and Super Save Drugs. A dream came to fruition in 1968 when Dad, Mom and the kids opened the Ambassador Toy and Gift store, and later expanded to Ambassador Drug and Gift. It doesn't happen in many families, but each child had the opportunity to work with Dad. It was during those long hours at the stores where we learned the lessons about honesty, hard work, sacrifice, kindness and charity to others. After suffering for years from cancer, Mom passed away in November 1973. Dad sold his business prior to marrying Lillith Jones on August 10, 1976. They made their home in Brigham City, Utah, where he enjoyed his large garden, fruit trees and flower gardens. He was very clever at making an d building things in his wood shop. Dad and Lil enjoyed traveling. They went to Africa, took a Mediterranean cruise and traveled with the Good Samers. They traveled all over the country to visit their 13 children and families. They served two temple missions in the Ogden Utah Temple. Lil passed away in February 2000. Dad is survived by his sisters, Lola Keyes, Ogden, UT; Shirley Beth (Dan) Stokes, Paulden, AZ; eight children Arlene (Fred) Norton, Vancouver, WA; Armelia (Gordon) Johnson, Taylor, UT; James Tuck, Helena, MT; JeNae (Dennis) Lay, Helena, MT; Carol (Tony) Smith, Helena, MT; Wayne (Theresa) Tuck, Johnstown, PA; Linda (Grant Emo) VanderVeur; Salt Lake, UT; and Diane Tuck, Brigham City, UT, and 27 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Also survived by Lillith's five children Lorraine (Ray) Court, Sandy, UT; Nora Lee (Richard) Hilton, Dillon, MT; Lester, Kevin, MT; Dallas (Sandy) Jones, New Hartford, NY; and Fern Kay (Allen) Hill, Sandy, UT.
