He was born April 15, 2005 in Salt Lake City to Luke Samuel Adams and Danielle Marie Boirum. Kayden was so perfect that he only needed to stay a short while before returning to his Heavenly Father. Surviving are his parents; his grandmas, Dona Peterson and Shelly Adams; and one brother, Karsen Adams. Also surviving are his aunts, Kathryn, Susan, and Samantha; and uncles, Chris, James, and Aaron. Bingham WEST HAVEN - Merlin was born August 6th, 1923 in Wilson, Utah, son of Erastus and Hilda Bonnerud Bingham. He died at home in West Haven, Utah, on Monday April 18, 2005 after a lengthy illness. Merlin was raised in Wilson, Utah, graduated from Weber High School in 1941, and attended Weber State College. On October 28th, 1943 he married Arlene Ritchie in the Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple. Merlin enjoyed serving in numerous church callings; High Priest, Elders Presidency, Ward Sunday School Superintendent, and in the Stake Sunday School Presidency. He was a member of the Ogden and Provo Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Weber County Cancer Crusade, and Retail Merchants chairman. Merlin was in the retail jewelry business for 27 years, during which time he managed Schubach Jewelry in Provo, and co-owned Bennett Jewelry in Ogden. In 1966 Merlin and Arlene moved to Houston, Texas for 20 years, where he worked as factory representative for a prominent jewelry manufacturing compa ny. Merlin always enjoyed repairing and making jewelry, working at his farm, and gardening. Merlin was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and three sisters, Norman B. Bingham, Claud Bingham, Vera DeWit, Elva Elliott, and Edna Parke. He is survived by his wife Arlene, his daughter Lynette, son Roger, and grandson Tyler, whom he loved dearly. (Ted) Christensen PLAIN CITY - A Plain City Rancher/Farmer has died. Edwin D. (Ted) Christensen, husband, father, grandfather, friend and rancher, died Saturday, April 16, 2005, at his home in the arms of his loving grandson. He was encircled by his devoted family. Ted was born January 25, 1921, in Plain City, to Walter E. and Dorothy McFarland Christensen. He lived his entire life in Plain City and attended the county schools. He purchased his grandfather's homestead and began building his own ranch/farm. He raised cattle and grew hay, sugar beets and a wide variety of row crops. His determination and hard work combined to make his ranch/farm into a Plain City icon. There was nothing he couldn't grow successfully. Along with raising great crops, he would always give any boy who was willing, an opportunity to work. Many a Plain City youth earned his spending money hauling and stacking hay, hoeing beets, pulling weeds and picking vegetables for Ted. Ted has three wonderful children, Hal, Jay and Jill. Ted taught each of his children the importance of work and the satisfaction derived from a job well done. His strong work ethic has been passed on to his children and grandchildren as he worked along side of each of them. "Dad, thanks for all the life lessons." On October 29, 1981, Ted married Dona Butterfield in Las Vegas, Nevada. She became his "Asphalt Cowgirl". He quickly indoctrinated her into Plain City life. The two worked side by side enjoying the satisfaction of making things grow. Ted was a very responsible man. He served as a director of the Plain City Irrigation Co. as well as its President for several years. He also served on the Weber River Water board. In 1968, Ted received the Soil Conservationist of the Year award for Weber County. In 1990, Governor Bangerter appointed Ted to serve on the Weber Basin Water Board. In 1994, he was appointed to a second term by Governor Leavitt. He thoroughly enjoyed his service on the board. He looked forwar d to working with the other esteemed colleagues there. Ted is survived by his wife, Dona; three children, Hal (Holly), Las Vegas, NV; Jay (Debbie), and Jill (Henry), both of Plain City; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The family wishes to give special thanks to Hearts for Hospice, especially Sherry Carter, Micki, Carlos and Ellie. Clark, 91, died Friday, April 15, at home in Ogden. He was born February 26, 1914 in Logan, Utah, the son of LuEmma Cox and Louis Kidman. He graduated from Ogden High School and received a BS degree in forestry from Utah State University, where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He retired from the United States Navy following four years of active duty during World War II; he retired from the U.S. Naval Reserve with the rank of Lt. Commander. He married Marian Berg in Provo, Utah, December 18, 1938. He began his career with the U.S. Forest Service, worked as a district ranger in Utah and Idaho, and retired from the U.S.F.S. Regional Office Information and Education Division in 1974. He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Ogden, El Kalah Shriners Club and Exchange Club. He is survived by his wife, Marian, Ogden; sister, Gwen Passey, Layton; son, David (Penny) Clark, Salt Lake City; and daughter, Barbara (Dale) James, Post Falls, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Brett James. A private family service will be held at a later date. Hillebert OGDEN - "A mother holds her children's hands for a while. . .their hearts forever". Our dear mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Mildred Powell Hillebert, passed away Monday, April 18, 2005 at Infinia Care Center in Ogden. She was born May 25, 1920, in Bluebell, Utah to James William and Leah Vivian Ewell Powell. She was the fourth child of 14 brothers and sisters. Mildred married Joseph Edwin Redford on August 8, 1938. They were later divorced. She married Lee Hillebert. He preceded her in death. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mildred was a loving, giving person who loved to knit and crochet. She always had a gift to give to everyone she met. Surviving are her three children: Robert L. (Janette) Redford, Syracuse; Pearl Scothern, Mountain View, CA; Dale P. (Merlie) Redford, Farr West; a special daughter-in-law, Sharon Seifert, Harrisville; 23 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are four si sters and two brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and two brothers. Mildred will be missed by everyone who knew her. Lasa, Martin Martin LasaPORTAGE - Martin Lasa, 76, a resident of Portage and long time resident of Malad, ID, was received into his Heavenly family's arms on Friday, April 15, 2005. He was born March 16, 1929, in the town of Zabiri, in the province of Navarra, Spain, a son of Juan Lasa and Eulogia Olague. Martin grew up at the foot of the Pyrenees Mountains near the border of France and Spain. He received very little formal education and at the age of 9 went into the mountains to herd goats. He also worked at a field hand on numerous farms to help support his younger siblings and family. Martin also served in the Spanish Army, as was required of all males reaching a certain age. In December 1954, at the age of 24, Martin immigrated to the United States, becoming a citizen in 1970. During his first 10 years he worked as a sheepherder throughout the remote areas of California and Nevada with his brothers Joaquin and Florencio. Martin's second employer was the Southern Pacific Railroad. He was part of the R&B Crew (bridges and buildings) and held this position for three years. His last employer was the city of Elko, NV, where he was the maintenance division foreman for the city cemetery, retiring after 22 years of service. Martin met and married the love of his life, Norma Johnson, on March 14, 1964, in Elko, NV, where they made their home for 30 years, raising four children. Martin was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and trapping with his family (it was said he could fish in a mud puddle). Upon retirement in 1989, he and Norma moved to Malad, ID, where they made their home for the next 15 years. While in Malad, Martin continued his enthusiastic pursuit of fishing, hunting, and trapping. He also started raising sheep, Quarter Horses, a few steers, and grew an award-winning vegetable garden each year. Martin is survived by his wife, three daughters, one son, six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; Rebecca (Neal) Bryson, Middleton, ID; Woodrow Wils on, Los Angeles, CA; Tamara (John) Atencio and Martina (Mike) John of Portage, UT; three grandsons: Christopher Smalling, Las Vegas, NV; Johnny Atencio and Martin John of Portage, UT; three granddaughters: Danielle Atencio, Plymouth, UT; Kimberly Atencio and Amanda John of Portage, UT; and one great-granddaughter Meagan Smalling of Middleton, UT. Surviving him in Spain are one brother, Angel (Augustina) Lasa, and two sisters, Maria and Eulalia Lasa, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, three brothers, two sisters, and one grandson Joshua. The family would like to thank all of the wonderful loving staff from IHC Hospice for the great care and consideration Martin received during his long illness. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. He was truly One of a Kind. Long, George George Kent Long ROY - George Kent Long, 60, loving husband, devoted father and son passed away Sunday, April 17, 2005 at Ogden Regional Medical Center after a valiant battle with cancer. He was born December 3, 1944 in Franklin, Idaho, the son of George Alton and Grace Whitehead Long. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was currently employed at Hill Air Force Base. He married Virginia Beck in 1968. They later divorced. He married Sharon Pace on December 8, 1980 in Harrisville, Utah. Survived by his wife Sharon, children: Scott Long, Kathy (Troy) Wolsey, Kelly (Chalo) Lopez, grandchildren: Blade, Karyssa and Gavin Wolsey. Also surviving are his parents George Alton and Grace Long. Siblings: Mike (Gayle) Long, Janice (Fred) Edmunds, Pauline (Gerald) Miller. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Musselman, John John Musselman ROY/WEST POINT - John Alan Musselman left this life for his eternal one Friday, April 15, 2005, after a long battle with M.S. He was born November 9, 1965 to Howard and Darlene Musselman. He graduated from Roy High in 1984. He married his high school sweetheart, Kathy Hargis, in 1985; they were sealed in the Ogden Temple in 1989. They have five wonderful children, Johnathan Alan, currently serving in the Tucson AZ mission, Jeryka Rae, Jayden Thurman, Jaylie Kay, and Jenyr Jesse. John loved to camp and spend time with his family. His favorite place was Smith and Morehouse and he spent many weeks there hiking and fishing with friends and family. He loved to cook--and we loved his bread. He is survived by his wife and children; his mother; his parents-in-law, Bill and Marilyn Varner and Kay and Mary Hargis; his brothers, Jim (Jill), Craig (Susan), Dave (Kris) and Howard (Linda); and many nieces and nephews who enjoyed his stories. The family, especially Kathy, would li ke to specially thank Dr. Merkley and his nurse, Linda, for countless hours of help and a few good laughs. Myers passed from this earth the 17th of April 2005. "Bud" was born to Matha and Tom Myers the 28th of December 1923. He married Helen Hall on the 1st of July 1954 who preceded him in death on the 26th of August 2004. Bud served in the Army in World War II. He served in the state department in South East Asia. He worked for Hill Air Force Base until his retirement. He is survived by his three children Mike Hall, Deiane Holliday, and Maureen McKay, three nephews, David, Ralph and Neil Shrider, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren. She married her best friend and high school sweetheart, Daren Charles Putnam,on May 4, 1985. They made their home in Roy, UT where they had two children, Dusty Paul and Taneshia Marie; they later received Honey. Traci enjoyed going shopping, camping, playing with all the nieces and nephews and having sleepovers with her God-son, Darrion. She is survived by her husband, Daren; children, Dusty Paul and Taneshia Marie; one sister, Teri Greenwell and a brother, Nickodemus (Jessica) Herrera; and a grandmother, Silvia Herrera. She will be missed very much by her many nieces and nephews who she loved to spoil. She is preceded in death by her mother, father, and father-in-law. She was born on October 6, 1912 at East Mill Creek, Utah, a daughter of George and Charlotte M. Berner Bartholomew. She married Melvin John Roberts in the Salt Lake Temple on October 5, 1936. Grace worked many years in the Ogden temple, served an LDS mission in 1986 with her husband to the Washington D.C. Temple. She was active serving in Primary, Young Womens, and Relief Society. She loved children, gardening, the outdoors, and doing good for others. She was proceeded in death by her husband, one grandson, three sisters and one brother. Snow, Allen Lynn Allen Lynn Snow OGDEN - Allen Lynn Snow, 69, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2005, of complications due to emphysema. He was born Jan. 9,. 1936 in Salt Lake City, a son of Ellis Snow and Ramona Perry. He married Erma Flint on June 25, 1955. They later divorced. He then married Kay Youngberg on Jan. 29, 1966. They later divorced. He served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was employed at Defense Depot Ogden in Quality Control. He was a member of the LDS Church, Ogden 13th Ward, where he served as an Executive Secretary in the Bishopric. He was a member of the Ogden CB Radio Diesel Control Club. Surviving are his children: Terry L. Snow (Janice) Layton; Sharon K. Folks (John), Florida; Gary A. Snow (Karen) Ogden; Sheri K. Cunningham (Kevin), Roy; Cindy E. Patterson (Wayne), West Haven; Steven E. Snow (Stephanie) Roy. 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one Aunt, Joy Hodge (LaMar), Roy. He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson and one brother. Spader, Sharlee May Corner Sharlee May Ranck Corner Spader February 9, 1972 to April 16, 2005 Wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, Shar left us peacefully in the night while she slept. Shar loved music, to dance, the Ranch, nice expensive "things", baby pink, sterling silver and angels. Shar loved her husband, her two boys and three stepchildren with all her heart. Also her family and especially her Dad who never gave up and always did so much for her. Most important to Shar was her "little" family of seven, which she and Shawn worked very hard at bringing together. "She kept us strong". Shar will be forever missed by all, mostly her husband. . . "She is my forever love." She said, "He makes me laugh".
