She was born August 7, 1935 in Warren, Utah to Ernest Parley and Laura Phillips Hogge. Her mother passed away when she was two years old. Ernest then married Fern Hipwell Hales and they raised Marilyn together. She married Harold Nelson on September 12, 1952 in Plain City; their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was a dedicated wife and mother. She was an active member of the LDS church and served in many positions. She especially enjoyed her time as a temple worker. Marilyn taught as a 4-H leader. She enjoyed making birdhouses, scrap booking, traveling, and was a wonderful homemaker. Surviving are her husband, Harold Nelson; eight children, Craig (LaRae) Nelson, Blaine H. Nelson, Phil (Shelley) Nelson, Blair (Carol) Nelson, Rick (Linda) Nelson, Laurie (Doug) Maddock, Linda Hunt, and Leasa (Greg) Dingle; 39 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Kenneth (Renee) Hogge, Gary (Carolyn) Hales and sister-in-law, Colleen Hogge. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Ronald Hogge. A special thanks to IHC Hospice and Infinia Health Care for their loving care of Marilyn. The family would also like to thank all their neighbors and friends for their support and friendship. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Warren LDS Chapel, 856 No. 5900 West. Friends may call on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary in Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd. and on Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Warren Cemetery.
