She was born June 8, 1928, in Minersville, Utah, to Lorin Elisha Goff and Ethel Louise Booth. She married Quentin Gunn in 1943 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were later divorced. On June 23, 1951, Colleen married Van Hiriam Arrant in Las Vegas, Nevada. The marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple. Van died December 30, 1996. After moving several places around the country, they settled in Sunset, Utah, and raised their family. Colleen was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings, with her favorite serving as Primary Secretary. For 30 years she enjoyed tending many children and was like a mother to them all. She loved cooking, canning and loved working in her garden and spending time with her family. Colleen is survived by five sons and five daughters, Gene (Marva), Richard, Tom, Jim (Ma ry Jane),Michael (Cheryl), Connie(John) Easterbrook, Susan, Mary Anne, Becky, and Heather (Robert); 28 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Flagg, Rolling Prairie, Indiana; and a brother, James Goff, Boulder City, Nevada. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and a daughter, Colleen Marie. The family would like to express their appreciation for the compassionate care provided by Hospice for Utah, Lisa H., Lisa P., Andrea, Maggie and Donna. Blake, Wayne Smith BRIGHAM CITY - Wayne Smith Blake was born 22 January 1926 in Hinckley, Utah to James and Clarissa Cox Blake. He graduated from Hinckley High School in 1944 where he was an active participant in football, basketball, and track. Wayne worked for his uncle Orville at the Cox Honey farm in Idaho one summer and learned to love the bees. Later, he always kept a few hives in his yard. His last summer of school Wayne drove a TD 18 tractor and leveled land on Utah's west desert. In 1944 he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served 21 months during World War II. He attended Utah State Agriculture College and received a two year completion certificate in Automotive Technology. Wayne married his high-school sweetheart Cherol Reeve on September 20, 1946 in the Salt Lake Temple. They returned to Hinckley where he and his friend opened a service station and garage. It was great until a new highway bi-passed the town. He moved to Orem, Utah and worked as a welder for Consolidat ed Western Steel. In 1962 the family moved to Brigham City where Wayne worked at Thiokol 27 years as a millwright where his duties included managing the air shop. Wayne was always active in scouting. Growing up he belonged to the Hinckley Sea Scout Ship and earned his Eagle Badge. Later he served the LDS church in many capacities including ward and stake explorer leader, twelve years as membership clerk, and twice as counselor in the High Priest Quorum. Wayne and Cherol served a temple mission in the Ogden LDS Temple. In 2000, Wayne was diagnosed with Multiple Myaloma. He received excellent care from the Huntsman Medical Center and Dr. Kushner. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the dedicated professionals both in Salt Lake, at the Ogden Regional Medical Center, and Dr. Markeson of Brigham Medical for their attentive care in Waynes time of need. He is survived by his wife, Cherol Reeve Blake of Brigham City and children: Richard Blake of Mesa Arizona; Bruce (Deborah) Bla ke of Bear River City; Linda (Ron) Larsen of Providence; Evelyn Shoell of North Ogden; Carolyn (Curtis) Anderson of Plain City; Connie (Scott) Bohn of Syracuse; and Carl (Carol) Blake of Ogden. Wayne and Cherol have 35 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Wayne died January 31, 2005 at the Ogden Regional Medical Center. OGDEN - Our loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, 74, passed away with many loved ones by his side, peacefully on Saturday, January 29, 2005 of complications due to cancer. He was born January 27, 1931 in Wellsville, Utah, the son of Hugh Clark and Zella Hoskin Clark. He graduated from South Cache High School. He honorably served an LDS mission in Ontario, Canada. He attended Utah State University before meeting his eternal companion, Lola Gemar. They were married November 14, 1958 in the Logan LDS Temple. After retiring from Hill AFB in 1986 Rulon started a furniture manufacturing business with his son Doug, named The Pine Factory. Rulon loved the opportunity to talk to customers and was very proud of the business. He worked until three weeks prior to his return to God. Rulon's first love was his family and friends. He enjoyed music, playing the piano, cooking, gardening, fishing and laughing, and was an avid Weber State University Wildcat fan. He served as assistant ward organist and in various other callings. He attended North Ogden 16th Ward. He was most happy helping others; wanting nothing in return. He was like a father to all who crossed his path. Rulon is survived by his wife Lola; four sons, Richard, Steven, Douglas (Wendy) and Mark (Victor); nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Lila Rae (Bill) Jones, Dean (Norma) Clark, twin brother Calvin (Arlene) Clark, Carol (Doyle) Hansen, Linda (Terry) Barnard; and many other adopted sons. He was preceded in death by his parents and a niece. Dalton, Tracy Lindsey HARRISVILLE - Tracy Lindsey Dalton, 41, returned to her Heavenly Father on Saturday, January 29, 2005 after a long and courageous 3 year battle with brain cancer. She was born December 21, 1963 in Ogden, Utah the oldest of six children of Kent Lindsey and Brenda Davis. She graduated from beauty school and became a beautician and makeup artist. Tracy taught dance at the Dance Shoppe of Roy, Utah. She loved dancing, music, reading, and children. She loved making professional quality crafts. Though Tracy had no children of her own she loved and cared for her brothers, sisters and her nieces and nephews. All children could find a warm place in Tracy's heart and home. Tracy married Rodney Dalton on June 1, 1991. This was a classical May - December romance. She loved to travel with her husband, and redecorate her home. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Harrisville 4th Ward. Herrod, Kimball G. 1970 - 2005 Kimball George Herrod, 34, died January 30, 2005 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was born September 4, 1970 in San Diego, CA to Dr. Niles W. and Janet Edmunds Herrod. He grew up in Provo, UT where he graduated from Timpview High School in 1989 and was an Eagle Scout. He served in the Oklahoma Tulsa Mission from 1989 - 1991. He attended Brigham Young University where he graduated with a degree in Economics and a Master of Business Administration. He worked as a healthcare consultant in El Segundo, CA from 1997 - 2003 and was working as a hospital administrator at Ogden Regional Medical Center at the time of his death. He married Catherine Parkinson on November 16, 1995 in the Salt Lake Temple. They are the parents of four children: Scott (7), Taylor (5), Matthew (3) and Elizabeth (9 months). He was a loving and adoring husband and father. He expressed his love to his wife and family each day and for that gift they are truly thankful. He was a wonderful son, brother, friend and colleague. Kimball was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His life was filled with service to others. He had a pure heart and a kind spirit. He was an example to all of faithfulness in keeping his covenants and in living the precepts of the Gospel. LAYTON - Robert Allan Kay, 57, died Sunday, January 30, 2005 peacefully in his sleep. He was born May 20, 1947 in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of Keith E. Kay and Nadine Robison Kay. He married Gloria Laws Kay, June 7, 1974 in Layton, Utah. Bob grew up in the Air Force and lived in Nebraska, Texas, Georgia, and Michigan, graduating from Mt. Clemens High School in 1965. He served in the Army from 1970-73 and was stationed in Germany. After the military he worked at Hill Air Force Base for 37 years until the time of his death. Bob loved classic movies, television, books, and sports, especially boxing. Some of his most cherished times were spent playing golf on the base, chasing his grandsons around the house and yard and watching movies with his family. Bob is survived by his wife Gloria of 31 years, his brother David, his two nephews Dustin and Marty, his sons Robert and Ronald Glover, Matthew (Denise), Mark and Marcie Kay. He is also survived by his grandsons and playmates, Je sse Glover, Austin Cawley, Jaden and Elwynn Kay. Bob's wit and sarcasm will always be missed. In his own words the bank is now closed. Lambert, Mary ROY - Mary Josephine Barnett Holmes Brogna Lambert, 84, passed away Monday, January 31, 2005 at Crestwood Care Center. Mary was born December 6, 1920 in Malad, Idaho to Joseph and Lola House Barnett. She married Arthur A. Holmes on October 31, 1937 in Brigham City, UT, they later divorced. She married Bernard A. Brogna on March 20, 1943 in Boston, MA; they later divorced. She then married Donald Lambert and later divorced. She was a member of the LDS church. She retired from the IRS after many years of service. Mary was an artist in her younger years, a seamstress, and was avid at cross-stitch. She loved to play pinochle, and also enjoyed family gatherings and working with her hands. Surviving are her children, Wilson A. (Rebecca) Holmes, Ogden; Bernard R. (Betty) Brogna, Louisiana; Loraine (Parlie) Alton, Florida; step-daughter, Janet Rossi, Utah; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers and one sister, Myron (Nola) Jones, Ida ho; Grant (Helen) Jones, Idaho; and Carrie (J. Clair) Robinson, Plain City. Reed HOOPER - John Reed Naisbitt, 94, died Sunday January 30, 2005, surrounded by his loving family, from causes incident to age. He was born May 22, 1910 in Hooper, a son of John Henry Naisbitt and Florence May Singleton. In 1933, Reed married Lois Palmer in Plain City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was reared and educated in Hooper and Weber High school where he was a member of the 1928 graduating class. Reed was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a man of great service to his fellowman. He was a High Priest, chairman of the building committee for the Hooper 1st Ward Chapel, and a faithful home teacher. Reed was the superintendent of the Hooper 1st Ward Sunday School and of the Lakeview Stake Sunday School. He and his wife faithfully served as Ordinance Workers in the Ogden LDS Temple for almost 20 years. Reed will be remembered as a man who loved his wife and family. He was employed for a short time as a fireman. The majority of his life his chosen and loved profession was a farmer and cattleman. Farming and cattle meant hours and hours of hard work but Reed always found time to help anyone in need. He and Lois had major responsibilities in the raising of eight of his grandchildren following their mothers' death. Reed was a member of the Hooper, Weber and Utah Farm Bureau. He held many leadership positions and was willing to help the organizations whenever he was needed. He was also a member of the Hooper Lions Club. He was a charter member of the Weber County Mounted Sheriff's Posse. He served as a lieutenant in the posse. He rode and performed community and charitable service with the posse for almost 50 years. He rode with the posse in two historic Pony Express Races and rode with the posse across the Council Bluffs- Mormon Pioneer Memorial Bridge after it was dedicated by President David O. McKay. When he retired from the posse he was given a tribute and recognition at the Ogden Pioneer Days Rodeo. Surviving Reed are two sons and one daughter, Reed Junior Naisbitt, John Palmer (Julie) Naisbitt, and Diann (Larry) Davis; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Kathryn Westmoreland. Reed was preceded in death by his wife, Lois, one daughter, Emma Janeen, two daughters-in-law, Myrene Naisbitt and Connie Naisbitt, a granddaughter, Sherri and three sisters, Mayre Nielsen, Ilah Giles and Ruth Knight. The family expresses sincere appreciation to the staff at Heritage Park Care Center for the loving care given to their father for the past 20 months. Regan, Lillian Alice LAYTON - Alice Regan, 90, passed away Friday, January 28, 2005 at her home. She was born August 30, 1914 in Kadoka, South Dakota to Albert Sigfred and Josie Duba Nelson. Alice lived in Kadoka for 20 years then moved to Los Angeles, CA where she lived for 49 years. She lived in Layton for the last 22 years. She married John E. Regan October 17, 1942 in Los Angeles, CA. John passed away in May 2002. Alice was a member of Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI), and was the owner of a Scuba Dive shop. She also enjoyed china painting. Alice is survived by her three sons Gerald E. Regan, Layton; Michael J. Regan (Mary Ellen), Laguna Nigal, CA; and Thomas A. Regan (Patricia), Layton; four grandchildren, one great-grandson, and her sister Ethel Woodruff, Huron, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John Regan, one brother and two sisters. He was born May 2, 1930 in Clifton, Idaho to Parley Alvin and Florence Angeline (Rollins) Sears. He married Maxine LaVon Newbold on December 13th in the Salt Lake LDS Temple; they later divorced. He married Arlene Nelson on October 7, 1972 in Ogden, Utah; their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple. Blayne was a member of the Mound Fort 2nd Ward. He was active as High Priest secretary and was finance clerk for several years, and a home teacher. Surviving are his wife, Arlene E. Sears, Ogden; children, Daryl Blayne Sears, Coldwater, MS; Kerry Dean Sears, Salt Lake City; Parley Lewis Sears, Salt Lake City; Susan (Kevin) Brown, Ogden; daughter-in-law, Judy Sears, Ogden; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was born on May 1, 1942 in Brigham City, Utah, a son of Paul William and Beth Larsen Stumm Burrup. Steven was reared and educated in Brigham City, where he graduated from Box Elder High School in 1960. He attended Weber State College and Utah State University. He married Claudia Guynn on February 5, 1966 in Ogden, Utah. They were later divorced, but they remained friends. Steven worked for the Utah Dept. of Transportation from 1961 to 1965. He then became a Utah Highway Patrolman from 1967 to 1982 when he retired. He was a member of the Brigham City Golf and Country Club, Elks Lodge 719 and the Eagles Lodge 2919. Steven loved to play golf, hunting. He also enjoyed going with his son, Brandon to the High School football and basketball games at Box Elder. Bruce was born August 4th, 1951 in Enid, OK, the eldest son of Robert Bruce White and Nadine Marie Warren. He was raised and educated in Ogden, UT. Bruce has been a resident of Las Vegas, NV, for the past 8 years. His occupation has been in the construction business for 30 years as a certified welder. He is survived by his loving wife, Vicky of Las Vegas, NV; his children, Troy (Dori) White, Tracy (Brandon) Bennett, Brody White, Travis (Emily) Thein of Utah and Teresa Ward of Newport Beach, CA.
