Andersen died Tuesday, February 1, 2005. He was born October 1, 1969 in Logan, Utah, the son of Robert K. Andersen and Jeanne Pierce. Brian attended school in Logan and Roy, Utah graduating from Roy High School in 1987. After graduation he joined the U.S. Army and served during the Gulf War. Upon returning home he attended Weber State University receiving an Associates Degree. He moved to Phoenix, Arizona and completed the requirements for his Bachelor of Arts Degree in psychology at Arizona State University, after having surgery for brain cancer. He worked for Bank of America in Phoenix as a Senior Collector in the corporate department. Brian was an artist, especially with a pencil. He loved renovating old houses and refinishing antiques. He had many good times hiking and mountain biking with his brother and friends. His family was very important to him. Surviving are his parents, mother, Jeanne Sanchez and stepfather Steven Sanchez of Hooper ; father, Robert Andersen of Brigham City; brother, Michael Dauby, Roy; special niece, Melinda Jo Dauby; grandparents, Jack and Shirley Pierce, Cottonwood, Arizona; and Melvin and Rose Andersen of Hyrum; many uncles, aunts and cousins. Barber, Llona Kae LAYTON - Llona Kae Barber, age 53, passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2005 in her home in Layton after a long, courageous and valiant battle with cancer. She was born July 17, 1951 in Idaho Falls, Idaho a daughter of Richard Glenn Stevenson and Illona Rae Berrett. Kae will be remembered by many people as a loving mother and grandmother, a dear sister, a sweet daughter, a great friend and a mentor. She was particularly close to her children and grandchildren. The oldest of five children, Kae grew up in South Weber, Utah and graduated from Clearfield High in 1969. She married Brad Barber in Syracuse in 1971; they were later divorced. She attended Weber State University. Kae became the manager of the Ogden City Mall, where she created the Treehouse Children's Museum. She made an impact and long lasting impression on the city of Ogden with her compassion and her desire for positive growth in the community. She served on the Jr. Achievement Board, the Downtown Ogden Association, the Chamber of Commerce, the Women in Management Board and many other committees and associations. She later managed the Fashion Place Mall in Murray. She was very successful in this arena and received many acknowledgements and awards for her outstanding leadership and business skills. She left the corporate world to open her own restaurants on historic 25th street in downtown Ogden. Zona Roja and Ev'r Greens were cutting edge innovations with their health inspired cuisine. She later worked at Enable Industries assisting the handicapped. Her talents and accomplishments in life were many. Kae loved music, movies, reading, nature and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She possessed beauty, compassion, wit, love, determination, wisdom, appreciation for life and an especially strong bond with her children. She will be remembered for being a true mentor and friend to her children and to all who knew her. She always professed a strong connection with God. Her spiritualit y and heightened awareness is an inspiration for us all. Kae is survived by her children, Brandon Barber and Mika Barber; her mother, Illona Stevenson; her brothers and sisters, Rick Stevenson, Shelli Stevenson, Brad Stevenson, and Lisa DeFriez; her grandchildren, Canyon Barber, Jackson Barber, Dalton Hughes-Barber, Brighton Forsgren and Rachel Gitlin and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Stevenson and her grandparents, Don and Althera Berrett. Kae is most grateful to her nurse Mandy Page for her nurturing care; she is truly an angel among us. Also Kae is grateful to her brother, Rick Stevenson, and her mother, Ilona Stevenson for their selfless gifts of time, nurturing, and care. Kae enriched our lives with compassion, determination, laughter, and bravery. Kae kept her family laughing even in her final weeks. Barton, Mike OGDEN - Michael Ray Barton, 45, died Monday, January 31, 2005 from a sudden heart attack. He was born March 20, 1959 in Ogden to Larry David and Margaret Hope Wardell Barton. He married Jamie Michelle Harris on June 14th, 1991 in Ogden. Mike's most treasured times were spent with his son Cody and his grandson Alex. They were the light in his life as he was theirs. He loved cooking for his family and friends and camping. Mike gave his love freely and deeply to everyone and he will be greatly missed by his wife and son, family and friends and his best friend Lucky Boy. Surviving are his wife, Jamie H. Barton of Ogden; one son, Cody Harris of Ogden; a grandson, Alex James Harris; and his mother, Margaret Wittenbraker. London and Luetta (Lou) Beasley. Lori was born and raised in Ogden. She graduated from Bonneville High School in 1974 and graduated from the School of Cosmetology at Weber State University. She married LeRoi Peterson and later divorced. Lori married Lynn Edwin Berry on December 7, 1985 in Ogden. Lori is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a Historian for the LDS Seminary at Bonneville High. She worked at Michaels in Ogden as a department manager and previously as a Cake Decorator at Albertsons in South Ogden. Lori enjoyed painting, crafts, floral arrangements, cake decorating, camping at their summer property, golfing and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Lynn Berry, So. Draayer, Lynn A. ROY - Lynn A. "Sammy Lynn" "Pops" Draayer, 53, passed away peacefully, Thursday, February 3, 2005. He was born September 1, 1951, in Ogden, Utah, the son of Adrian Draayer Jr. and Sharon Hammon. On September 18, 1970, Lynn married Carol Jean Wixom in Ogden, Utah. He graduated from Bonneville High School in 1969 and attended Weber State College. Lynn was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved his job as a heavy equipment operator at Hill Air Force Base. He owned and operated Big Mountain Video for eight years. Lynn enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, music, woodworking, working in his flower garden, fixing up old vehicles and making key chains. He especially loved spending time at his mountain property and spoiling his grandchildren at every occasion. He loved NASCAR and was an avid sports enthusiast. He is survived by his wife, Carol, Roy; two sons, Little John Draayer (Tara), and Luke Benjamin Draayer, both of Roy; three daughters, Sammie Lynne Draayer (Chad), Sunset; Sandy Lee Draayer (Chris), Salt Lake City; Adrienne Joy Draayer, Roy; five grandchildren; his parents; his faithful dog, Quigley; and two sisters, Virginia Gerrish, Warrenton, Virginia; and Connie Bish, Roy. Ellis, Silva Larsen Silva Larsen Ellis, our loving mother and grandmother, quietly passed away January 30, 2005 in Modesto, CA, at the age of 102. She was born of pioneer heritage in Castle Dale, Utah, Sept 28, 1902, to Hyrum Smith Larsen and Dora Janette Acord Larsen, the second child and oldest daughter of twelve children. She was educated at the Castle Dale Academy. Silva married Asa Lynwood Ellis on Jun 28, 1922, in Price, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. In 1929, they moved to Ogden, Utah, where they raised their family. They moved to Modesto, CA in 1984. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1992 and continued to live with her daughter and son-in-law until her death. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving for many years in the Primary and Relief Society organizations and loved visiting teaching. She served a mission at the Genealogical Library in Ogden, Utah. She was a member and past president o f the Women's Auxiliary of the Railway Mail Association. She was a daughter of the Utah pioneers. Silva loved flowers and music, was an avid reader and an expert seamstress. She is survived by two daughters, Jeanne Frost of Clinton, Utah, and Gwen Stephens of Modesto, CA; and son, James Ellis, of Valley Springs, CA; She is also survived by two brothers, Orr I. Larsen of Midvale, Utah, and Wallace Larsen of Murray, Utah, and a sister-in-law, Edith Larsen of Murray, Utah. She has 12 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and 27 great-great-grandchildren. Frodsham, Gloria Dean OGDEN - Gloria Deen Frodsham, 74, died Thursday, February 03, 2005 at Washington Terrace Nursing Home in Ogden. She was born February 4, 1930 in Ogden, a daughter of Horace and Iva Farr. Gloria married Ray Frodsham November 1948 and later divorced. She lived in Ogden her entire life and graduated from Ogden Hill School. Gloria was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and recently went back through the LDS Temple. She was a lifetime employee of the IRS. Gloria loved people and was the most caring thoughtful person. She loved to laugh. Most important to her was her family and friends. Gloria was a terrifc grandmother and was adored by her grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Milton Frodsham (Janet), Ogden; daughters, Marsha Hayden (Gene), Hong Kong and Sherrie L. Together AgainOur dad, Harvey Rasmus Hegstrom Sr., 89, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2005. Dad was born April 10, 1915 in Central, Idaho, to Anders Otto and Dora Emilie Jorgensen Hegstrom. Dad learned many life lessons during his formative years on the farm in Idaho. At the age of 12 he moved with is family to Ogden. While working at the Royal Canning Co. he met Sarah L. Stephensen. They were married August 15, 1936 in Ogden. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Sarah preceded him in death on February 28, 1994. Dad graduated from Ogden High School in 1932, and attended Weber College. Dad was an excellent mechanic. He worked for Bill Hobbs Motor Service, and was hired as an aircraft engine mechanic and foreman of the aircraft carburetor department at Hill Field. In 1948 he went into partnership with Thayle Gray. They worked together at Gray and Hegstrom Servicenter until 1976, when Thayle retired. Dad retired in 1980. Dad loved airp lanes, and learned to fly, and had served as president of the Weber Flying Club. Dad was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as Elder's Quorum president and high priest group leader. He was a bishop's counselor and Bishop of the Ogden 38th Ward. He was a member of the South Ogden Stake High Counsel for 10 years and served as 1st counselor in the South Ogden Stake Presidency. He and Sarah served a mission to Minneapolis, Minnesota, and were ordinance workers in the Ogden Temple. Dad was a sealer in the Ogden Temple for nine years and had the privilege of performing the sealings for several of his grandchildren. Dad also gave service to the community. He was a South Ogden City Councilman for 10 years, and the Mayor of South Ogden for four years. He also served as a board member of the Central Weber Sewer District and as Vice Chairman of the Weber Area Council of Governments. Dad loved to work with his hands, building furniture, model cars, and all kinds of woodworking crafts. We have all been the recipients of his many talents. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and kept current on all of them right to the end. He endured with dignity to the end of his life, and has left us with his great example and firm testimony. Surviving are his children: Lucille (Lewis) Miller, St. George; Harvey (Carolove) Hegstrom Jr., Port Ludlow, Washington; Louise (Gary) Coleman, Las Vegas, NV; Karen (Bart) Manning, Hooper; 17 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers, two sisters and one great-grandchild. Herrod, Kimball G. 1970 - 2005 Kimball George Herrod, 34, died January 30, 2005 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was born September 4, 1970 in San Diego, CA to Dr. Niles W. and Janet Edmunds Herrod. He grew up in Provo, UT where he graduated from Timpview High School in 1989 and was an Eagle Scout. He served in the Oklahoma Tulsa Mission from 1989 - 1991. He attended Brigham Young University where he graduated with a degree in Economics and a Master of Business Administration. He worked as a healthcare consultant in El Segundo, CA from 1997 - 2003 and was working as a hospital administrator at Ogden Regional Medical Center at the time of his death. He married Catherine Parkinson on November 16, 1995 in the Salt Lake Temple. They are the parents of four children: Scott (7), Taylor (5), Matthew (3) and Elizabeth (9 months). He was a loving and adoring husband and father. He expressed his love to his wife and family each day and for that gift they are truly thankful. He was a wonderful son, brother, friend and colleague. Kimball was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His life was filled with service to others. He had a pure heart and a kind spirit. He was an example to all of faithfulness in keeping his covenants and in living the precepts of the Gospel. Hull, Delbert Ray HOOPER - Delbert Ray Hull, 92, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2005. He was born November 3, 1912, in Hooper, Utah, the son of Robert and Elizabeth Rigby Hull. On January 30, 1941, Delbert married Aline Hadley in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and they have been married for 64 years. He spent his entire life living in Hooper in the same home in which he was born. Delbert was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served faithfully in his many callings. He owned and operated Hull's Grocery Store for 27 years and enjoyed farming and gardening. The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for Delbert. He is survived by a son and four daughters, Ray D. Jensen, Bertha BRRIGHAM CITY - Bertha May Christensen Larsen Jensen returned to her Loving Heavenly Father early Wednesday morning, February 2, 2005. She had lived a long productive and righteous life of service to her family, church and community. Her talents blessed her family with her beautiful oil paintings, handy-work and her love of music. She always shared her testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with her family and friends. She leaves a rich heritage of faith, devotion and charity to all her posterity. We will miss you Grandma J. Bertha was born to Mary Leah Burton and David Christensen on December 6, 1905, in Hooper, Utah, and spent her childhood in Clinton, Utah. She was married to Swen Larsen in 1924 and he passed away in 1927. She married Lafayette (Lafe) Farrell Jensen on December 6, 1929, in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were later sealed in the S.L.C. Temple. She and her husband Lafe, were owners and operators of Lafe's Cafe on Main St. in B.C. In 1936 they opened the Central Motel in downtown B.C., later changed to the Golden Spike Motel. With the help of her children, Bertha cleaned and operated the motel while Lafe did the remodeling and ran a construction company. She was active in the LDS Church, holding leadership positions in all the auxiliaries. She was active in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, the Utah Motel Association and served as President of the American Legion Auxiliary. Bertha is survived by four of her six children: Howard (Carol) Larsen, St. George, UT, Joan (Ross) Olsen, Brigham City, UT, Robert (Sharon) Jensen, Pleasant Grove, UT, and Delon (Sandy) Jensen, Brigham City, UT, 27 grandchildren, 77 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two loving husbands, her daughter June Jensen Cavalli and her son L.F. Jensen Jr, one brother, two sisters, two grandchildren and one great-grandson. Lamph, Jane Cushing August 17, 1920 - January 31, 2005 BOUNTIFUL - Our beloved Jane Cushing Lamph, age 84, passed away January 31st 2005, in Bountiful, Utah with her loving daughter and close family members by her side. Her parents James Henry Cushing and Jane Mulligan Cushing were living in Elko, Nevada when Jane was born, August 17, 1920. Jane was the oldest of five children. She was raised in New York State and Utah. She attended school at St. Mary of the Wasatch, Salt Lake City, Utah; Our Lady of Wisdom Academy, Long Island, New York; and Judge Memorial High School, Salt Lake City, Utah. The family moved permanently to Bountiful in 1936 and Jane graduated from Davis High School, Kaysville, Utah in the class of 1938. She then attended Holy Cross Hospital School of Nursing and the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. During World War II Jane joined the war effort working in the laboratory at the Remington Arms Plant in Salt Lake City, Utah, and then for Western Union in Los Angeles , California. After returning to Bountiful she worked for Mountain Bell Telephone and Telegraph Company in the Bountiful office from 1949 until her retirement on June 6, 1979. Jane married Ara Norman Lamph June 6, 1941 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They had been sweethearts at Davis High School. He preceded her in death on January 10, 1998. The pride and joy of their lives has been their beautiful and talented daughter, Jane Ann, born October 8, 1958. Jane treasured her many friendships and had a special place in her heart for cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, Associated Career Women (ACW), Delta Delta Delta mothers club, League of Women Voters, Bountiful Ladies Bowling League and various bridge clubs. She was also a member of Saint Olaf's Catholic Church, charter secretary and treasurer and past president of Saint Olaf's Altar Society, and a member of the Catholic Women's League Salt Lake City, Utah. Jane enjoyed spending time at the cab in she and her husband Ara Norman designed and built in Island Park Idaho. She also appreciated all the special attention from the children in her neighborhood in Bountiful. Jane cared deeply about her extended family and was truly interested in what was happening in their lives. Her birthday cards and remembrances always meant so much because they were signed Love and Prayers Aunt Jane, and no one was ever forgotten. One of Jane's greatest joys was attending the Elko County Fair with her family in Nevada and visiting with her sister Grace. She also loved going to the monthly family Birthday dinners at her sister Aulene's. Jane was a pillar of strength for her siblings and her sister Donna frequently reminded us Jane has always been our leader. And her dear brother wants her to Save a lunch date for me, we'll talk sports, love Jim. Jane is survived by her much loved daughter Jane Ann; sisters Grace (Bill) Evans, Aulene Egan, Donna (Bob) Thompson, and brother James H. (Colleen) Cushing. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, stepmother Lydia Ferre, stepsisters Stella Mills and Faye Rowe, and her husband Ara Norman Lamph. Her daughter would like to thank Jane's doctors, nurses, certified nursing assistants and staff at Lakeview Hospital, Vista Care Hospice, and Rocky Mountain Care for the special care they provided over the past few weeks. She would also like to express special appreciation to Dr John Dietlein and to Jean Weinberger. Jane Ann will always be grateful to her family and friends who provided her with great love and support during this time. Mangum, Lynne Lynne Meadows Mangum, age 56, passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at her home in Richmond, Utah. She was born July 4, 1948 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of Merle Reid and Leonard R. Meadows. She graduated from Box Elder High School in 1966 and married Michael Ivan Mangum June 24, 1967 in Brigham City. She is survived by her husband, Michael; four children: Kim Baugh (Victor), Logan; Leslie; Jody Facer (Andrew); and Dustin, all of Richmond and 4 grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother, two brothers: Jay (Maryann) of Suffolk, VA and Daren (Terry) of Herriman; a sister, Karen Christensen (Curtis) of Bear River and sister-in-law, Cyndi Johnson Meadows of West Valley. She was preceded in death by her father, her brother Mark Meadows, her mother-in-law, May Mangum and her father-in-law, Ivan Mangum. LOGANVILLE, Georgia - Randy Lionel Maw, 54, died Sunday, January 30, 2005 in Georgia. He was born July 9, 1950 in Ogden, a son of Lionel A. and Rhoda "Dixie" Conner Maw. Randy married JoAnne Thornton on July 9, 1971 in Plain City. They later divorced. On August 15, 1978, he married Lisa Felt in Ogden. They were later divorced. Randy married Debbie Hollis on November 29, 2001 in Roy. He was reared and educated in Ogden graduating from Weber High School. He also graduated from Weber State College with a Bachelor's Degree. Randy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Randy began working as an Emergency Medical Technician with Ace Ambulance and as a firefighter for Riverdale City. He then worked for Hill Air Force Base Fire Department retiring in 2001 as a Captain, after 32 years of service. Randy enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating and spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed attending his children's athletic activities. He had a great sense of humor that will be missed by all. Surviving are his wife, Debbie, of Loganville, GA; one son and two daughters, Lionel Joe Maw, West Haven; Jennifer L. Maw (George) Evans, Ogden; Jessica "Jecca" B. Maw, Portland, OR; and three grandchildren, Tristen, Brittney and Breonna. Also surviving are his father of Plain City; one brother and three sisters, Jody J. (Susan) Maw, Hooper; Liana L. Miller, Keith Lee "Forever Loved, Never Forgotten" Keith Lee Miller, 38, of Tucson, AZ, passed away suddenly on January 19, 2005. He was born February 15, 1966, in Clearfield, Utah, to Gary K. Miller and Mary G. Farr. Keith resided in Utah until his early 30s, at which time he moved to Arizona. Keith graduated from Weber High School in 1985, and shortly after graduation he began his employment with YESCO. He worked there for over 10 years before moving to a different company in Arizona. Keith enjoyed painting and sketching in his spare time, and he incorporated much of his artwork into his profession as a glass-bender. Keith is survived by his mother, father, one sister (Tina) and one brother (Jeff). Also surviving are two nieces, 5 nephews, 3 great-nieces, one great-nephew, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Keith was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, two aunts, his paternal grandfather, and one uncle. Reynolds, 92, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at his home. He was born February 28, 1912 in Mt. Pleasant, Utah the son of Asa Fletcher and Augusta Matson Reynolds. Asa married Faun Livingston on November 22, 1939 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a member of the LDS Church and served as Sunday school teacher, Elders Quorum President, Home Teacher, Temple Worker, a service mission for 15 years, ward clerk with five bishops, secretary for the High Priest and financial clerk. Asa liked machine work, livestock, building guns, gardening and was a very good neighbor. Survived by his wife, Faun Livingston Reynolds, children, Kathleen Hermanson, Bountiful; Brent (Kathy) L. Reynolds, Layton; Brenda (Leon) Flinders, West Wendover, NV; 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and one sister, Betty Smith, Green River, UT. (Beatty) Stauffer, 70, passed peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, February 2, 2005. She will be missed by those who knew her. Alice was born May 27, 1934 in Columbus, OH. Thorsted, Edith OGDEN - Edith Ann Richards Thorsted, 84, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at her home. She was born November 27, 1920 in Ogden to Ianthus L. and Lily Mae Barker Richards. She married Paul D. Thorsted on April 21, 1948 in Ogden; their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple. Edith always had a beautiful flower garden, and was especially gifted with growing beautiful roses. She was an active member of the Lorin Farr 3rd Ward (previously the Ogden 21st Ward), where she served in many church callings. She loved to participate in special church productions, musicals, and roadshows. She will be fondly remembered for her wit, creativity, her talks and humorous readings. Surviving are her husband, Paul D. Thorsted of Ogden; one son and one daughter, David (Karen) Thorsted, Ogden; Carole Ann (Bruce) Teeples, Las Vegas; seven grandchildren, Scott (Marci) Thorsted, Brad Thorsted, Michelle Thorsted, Matthew (Amber) Teeples, Taralee Teeples, Melinda (Peter) Andersen, Trisha (Derek) McCool; and four great-grandchildren.
