The hole is still in our hearts, and the sorrow is still there, and always will be there until we are all together again. When I look at your daughter, I see you in her actions and her expressions and she looks just like you. And she is just as crazy as you were. Beck, Veriel C. OGDEN - Veriel C Beck, 84, died Friday February 11,2005 peacefully at home after a long illness. He was born June 1, 1920, in Montpelier, Idaho to Leon Anders Beck and Jennie Louise Porter Beck. He attended Idaho schools, graduating from Fielding High School in 1938. He then worked at Consolidated Aircraft in San Diego building B-24s. He served in the Air Corps from November 1941 until October 1945 and was stationed overseas for 22 months. After the war he married Lorna Clark in Ogden on November 3, 1945. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS temple. He was an employee of Chevron Oil for 38 years, working as a wholesale distributor for most of his life. He was active in the LDS Church till his final illness. He especially enjoyed working with the youth in the church and taught many of them how to water-ski. He also enjoyed playing golf. He liked to garden and could fix anything that was broken, including all the family cars. He loved his family very much and looked forward to all family gatherings. Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers (Sherril and Dale), and an infant sister (Phyllis). He is survived by his wife Lorna; one daughter and two sons, Anne, Salt Lake City; Steven (Wendy), Logan; and Dave (Ogden); and six grandsons (Andrew, Joseph, Adam, Brady, Jason, and Geoffrey). Also surviving are one brother, Junior (Paris, Idaho); two sisters, Noreen (John) Hansen and Maxine Dustin, both of Garden City, Utah. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 14, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th Street. Busboom, 83, died Thursday, February 10, 2005 at her home. She was born February 16, 1921 Bridgeport, Indiana, a daughter of T. Cecil and Elva Emmaline Newberry Billings. Leatha married Edward August Busboom on December 24, 1942 in Pocatello, Idaho. He preceded her in death in June of 1986. She was raised and educated in Kansas and moved to Pocatello, Idaho where she lived from 1937 to 1964. She lived in the Ogden area from 1964 to 1995 before moving to Las Vegas, Nevada. She recently had been staying with her daughter in Francis, Utah. Leatha was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She loved to read, listen to music, and was an excellent seamstress. Surviving are one son and three daughters, Carl (Relda) Busboom, Roy; Carolyn Mertens, England; Peggy (Larry) Pitkin, Francis, UT; Cynthia (James) Olona, Denver, CO; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband, three brothers and one sister. Gardner, Chad Michael Kelso Chad Michael Kelso Gardner 1973 - 2005 Our beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend left this earthly existence on Tuesday, February 8th, 2005. Chad died of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Irving, Texas. Born August 28th, 1973, Chad was never at a loss for energy or for something to say. He graduated with the class of 1991 from St. Joseph High School in Ogden, and married Meggan Dupuis on July 7th, 1996. Chad's short span of years was packed full of vibrant living and infused with passion. All who knew him appreciated his generosity, compassion, infectious laughter and beautiful smile. He was devoted to his wife and children, and enjoyed sharing his interests in cooking, music, movies, and literature with them. Chad was a talented musician, and loved to play the blues on his saxophone, harmonica and piano. One of his favorite activities was to dance in the kitchen with Meggan and the kids. Chad worked tirelessly to ensure the happiness and well-being of his fam ily, and was employed in various sales and computer-related fields including his most recent position with Quickcare in Dallas, Texas. Chad is survived by his wife Meggan; Parents Debbie and B. Greg Gardner and Gary and Mary Clare Kelso; children Devin, Breanna, Michael, Isaiah, Bailey and Ethan; brothers and sisters Gina Barberi, Mikelle (Brent) Weil, Kelly (Rob) Kelso, Kerry (Keith) Hankins, David (Fawn) Kelso, Aaron (Anne) Gardner, Beth (Ryan) Dickson, Katie, Jake and Nikki Gardner, grandmother, Ferne Kelso, and many other friends and family members who loved him dearly. Halverson, James Roger OGDEN - James Roger Halverson, 63, rode down his last trail on February 8, 2005 at his home. He was born August 30, 1941 in Ogden to Amos and Ruby Halverson, the fourth of seven children. Jim graduated from the school of Hard Knocks and became a successful chef in the restaurant industry including, Finer Foods, Park Drive Inn, Snowmass Colorado, and Sizzler Restaurants. Jim was the life of the party and was loved by everyone who met him. He loved camping and fishing and enjoyed scenery and traveling. He loved horses and dogs, especially little bear. James married, then later divorced. Surviving are three children, James, Debbie (Bob) Peterson, Teresa (Rick) Birch; 11 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; three brothers and three sisters, Janneane Shupe, Sharon Kister, Diane Warner, Joel Halverson, Jerry Halverson, and Randy Halverson. Harris, Jennie Hadfield OGDEN - Jennie Hadfield Harris, 90, returned home to her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, February 8, 2005. Jennie was born August 26, 1914 in Elba, Idaho, a daughter of George Wells and Sylvia Abigail Beecher Hadfield. They later moved to Utah and she graduated from Davis High School. She married Mellry Layton Harris on January 11, 1932 in Logan, Utah. They were later sealed together for eternity in the Ogden LDS Temple on July 2, 2002. Jennie was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had great faith and a desire for good. Jennie always put others first and believed we need to help each other to get through life. She owned and operated the Malted Milk Donut Shop and also a Chinchilla Ranch in Ogden, where she won many ribbons and trophies. Jennie later worked for Shaver Mart. Jennie was a loving mother of two sons, Nolan (Luana) and Roger (Sharon) Harris (deceased) and a loving grandmother of nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildre n and three great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Norma Mumford and sister-in-law Sylvia Hadfield. Jennie was preceded in death by her husband Mellry, son Roger and grandson Randy. Jeppson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, passed away Wednesday, February 9, in Ogden, Utah of causes incident to pneumonia after courageously battling Alzheimer and Parkinson diseases for several years. He was born March 10, 1919 in Brigham City, Utah to David Fernando and Anna Zelnora Fuller Jeppson. He grew up in Brigham City, graduated from Box Elder High School and attended Bakersfield Junior College for one year. He served in the U.S. Navy in San Diego during World War II. He began his professional career at Box Elder County Bank and retired as vice president of Commercial Security Bank after 40 years of service. On October 11, 1940, Boyd married his high school sweetheart, Ilene Carlson, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were blessed with five children. As a couple, they set an example of mutual devotion, service, generosity and faith. Boyd served faithfully in many church callings in The Church of Jesus Ch rist of Latter-day Saints including Stake Young Men's President, High Counselor, Bishop, and Counselor in a Stake Presidency. He and Ilene also served in the Ogden Temple for seven years. Boyd spent most of his life engaged in civic affairs including two terms in the Utah State Legislature, various positions in the Republican Party, President of the Kiwanis Club, Knife and Fork Club, and Ogden High PTA; Officer in Utah Bankers Association, and member of the Lions Club and Sons of Utah Pioneers. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ilene of Ogden; children: Judy (Winslow) Hurst, of Layton; Doug (Nancy) of Centerville; Linda (Dean) Carver of Fairfax, VA; Janis (Stephen) Ronnenkamp of Layton; Jeri (Paul) Laird of Ogden; 25 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, a brother, Keith (Cozette) and a sister, Ruth Jansen. Boyd was preceded in death by his father, David (1937), and mother, Anna (1981), four brothers: Lamar, Earl, Glen, and Max; three sisters: Erma, Pearl, and Alene; and a great -grandson, Carter. Olsen, Lillie PROVIDENCE, Utah - Our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Lillie Saunders Olsen, 85, passed away peacefully Feb. 9, 2005, at the Sunshine Terrace in Logan, Utah. She was born March 2, 1919 in Hyde Park, Utah, the daughter of Willard Gimbert and Kirstiana Andersen Saunders. She married H. Russell Olsen on Nov. 23, 1938 in the Logan LDS temple. They were delighted and proud to have served on an LDS Spanish speaking mission in the Corpus Christi region of Texas. They enjoyed many loving years together. Russell passed away in 1995. Lillie owned a home in Quartzite, Arizona where she enjoyed the winter months until suffering a stroke in 1998. She enjoyed all types of crafts but was particularly talented in knitting and crochet. Lillie loved her family and cared for them in many kind unselfish ways. She will be greatly missed and remembered for her countless thoughtful deeds. Surviving are her children Kay (Dallan) Day of Richmond, Utah, Cherry Case of West Jord an, Utah and Dee Olsen of Nibley, Utah; her brothers and sisters LeRoy (Helen) Saunders, Dorothy (VerNon) Petersen, Donna Naylor, Merlin (Venna) Saunders, Carroll (Allen) Wayman, and Willard (Rosalie) Saunders; her brothers and sisters in-law, Clara Barlow, Reta (William) Fyffe, Caroll Orton, Doyle (Catherine) Olsen, Gerald (Pat) Olsen, Jesse Chandler and Janet Saunders. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was born on September 21, 1914, in Clinton, Utah, the fourth of nine children born to Abiah Wadsworth and Emma Clydie Olmstead Child. She lived most of her childhood and adult life in Roy, Utah. She married our father, John Thomas Weir, on November 9, 1933, in Logan, Utah. They were sealed for eternity in the Logan Utah Temple on December 27, 1962. He passed away on June 28, 1961. Mother was a member of the Roy 8th Ward, of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mother was employed in the Bakery Department of the American Food Store, and Mayfair Market, and retired as the Bakery Supervisor of Smith's Food King in Roy. She enjoyed her co-workers and her association with the public very much. She enjoyed crocheting, making quilts, afghans, and beautiful dolls to share with her family and friends. She was a master at gardening and loved to care for her plants and flowers and kept a beautiful yard. Her greatest joy and happiness came from spending time with her family. Mother's fun personality and sense of humor endeared her to all. She is survived by one son, Jack (JoAnne) Weir, Coalville, Utah; one daughter, ReNae (LaMar) Barker, Roy, Utah; son-in-law, Leon (Marcia) Walling, Ogden, Utah; 14 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Fern (Udell) Kearl; three brothers, Ellis H.
