ROY - Florence Elba Anderson Becraft passed away peacefully Friday, February 11, 2005 with loving family by her side. She was born September 22, 1917 in Wilson Lane, Utah to Joseph and Florence Sewell Anderson. She graduated from Ogden High School. Florence met and married the love of her life, Chester A. Becraft in the Logan LDS Temple July 19, 1939. He preceded her in death on January 11, 1974. They were blessed with one son; Kenneth Broc and three daughters; Joan (deceased), Cheryl Ann Larson, and Sandra Mitchell (deceased). Before she married, she worked as a telephone operator in Ogden. She later worked at the American Food Store on Second Street. She also spent several years working with the Utah State University Extension Service. Florence was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many positions within the church including the Young Women's Organization and president of the Relief Society. She is survived by her child ren: Kenneth (Margie) Becraft and Cheryl Ann Larson both of Roy; nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, her sister Mildred Mickey (Glen) Fox, of Roy. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 daughters and brothers Lyman and Kenneth. Kynaston 1914 - 2005 Beth Pace Kynaston Christensen, 90, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed away February 10, 2005, in Roy, Utah. She was born November 14, 1914, to Harold E. Pace and Iva Stoddard, in Farmington, Utah, where she spent her youth and final years. She married Elgin Kynaston, January 28, 1931, in the Salt Lake Temple. He died in 1954. She then married Kenneth Christensen in 1956. He died in 1985. She worked for the telephone company for many years, Ken's Auto Parts in American Fork, and The Wight House until she retired 15 years later. Beth was an avid orchid grower with her own greenhouse and grew her beautiful flowers to give as gifts for the enjoyment of others. Beth's greatest love was for her family. She was never too busy to attend plays, ball games, recitals, and church events. Weekly family get-togethers were not uncommon. She was always baking and cooking to share with those she loved. Beth was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Serving in many positions. Beth lived an exemplary life to her family and all who knew her. Beth lived with her daughter Olive for many years until the time for more critical care became necessary. She is survived by a daughter, Olive (Richard) Hodson, Farmington, 3 sons, E. Dean (Cleone) Kynaston, Kaysville, Richard (Alice) Kynaston, Roy, and Udell (Shar) Kynaston, Kaysville. Stepson Neal (Lois) Christensen, now serving a mission. Sister-in-law Pearl K. Corwin, Kent OGDEN - Kent "Pappa" Corwin, 70, died February 9, 2005, surrounded by his loving children from a fatal stroke. He was born July 19, 1934, in Los Angeles, CA, the son of Virgil and Florence Corwin. Kent graduated from Ogden High School in 1953, married Patsy L. Thomas in 1954 and divorced in 1975. He married Barbara Jones in 1976 and later divorced. Kent was a sheet metal mechanic and foreman for Hughes Aircraft Co. in Los Angeles, and Hill Air Force Base in Ogden. He loved to fish, hunt and play golf. He is survived by his children: K. Casey Corwin (Denver, CO.), K. Shaun Corwin (Salt Lake City), and Tamra L. (Boyd) Hansen (Farmington); his grandchildren, Candice, Cody and Kelly and his great grandchild, Levi; his sisters Dorothy (Harlan) Gollihue (Ohio), Donna (Bob) Allington (Ogden), his twin sister Connie (Ed) Tuttle (Roy), and his brother Tom (Ann) Corwin (Ogden). Dixon, Stephen Glen LAYTON - Stephen Glen Dixon, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend died unexpectedly February 10, 2005 at the age of 37. He was born December 29, 1967 to Ray Dixon and Nannette Humphreys Dixon. He was raised in North Ogden, graduating from Weber High School in 1986. He attended Weber State and the University of Utah. He served an LDS Mission to Switzerland. He married Deanna Dearden on March 9, 1990 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Steve was a die-hard Ute's fan and loved to attend the games. He was happiest cheering for the red and white and listening to great rock and roll. He was a successful businessman and ran Dixon Trophy on Riverdale Road for several years. Steve loved being a dad. He was totally devoted to his family and loved to spoil his kids. He had a special name for each one and we know that they will miss hearing their dad call them by that special name. He is survived by his wife Deanna and their three beautiful children, Kelly (13), Cynthia (9), and Christopher (4). He is also survived by his mother, Nanette Dixon, North Ogden; and brother David (Dennise) Dixon, North Ogden; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins and in-laws. Earl Facer OGDEN - Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend returned home to the arms of her Heavenly Father on Saturday, February 12, 2005. She was born April 17, 1924 in Malad, Idaho, the daughter of Viola Delila Richards and Charles F. Earl. She married Evan A. Facer on July 25, 1942 in Woodruff, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on April 27, 1970. Mattie and Evan spent their life together traveling the world from Texas, California, Bermuda, Washington, France and then retiring in Ogden. Mattie loved people, she would talk to anyone and soon they were her friend. She loved music and loved to sing. She worked at the Defense Depot in Ogden, retiring in 1986. While she was there she sang with the Depot Aires. Mattie loved to play cards and games. She loved to go camping. Mother was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a faithful visiting teacher for many years. She loved to be in roa d shows and she sang in the ward choir. She is survived by her husband, Evan of Ogden; three daughters and two sons, LaRue (Doug) Wingest, Las Vegas, NV; Lorraine (Michael) Bowen, Hyde Park, UT; Terry (Kathy) Facer, West Valley, UT; Larry (Verna) Facer, Ogden, UT; Pam (Mark) Randall, Ogden; Charles Earl (deceased). She raised one granddaughter, Sherrie (Kenny) Pribble, Las Vegas, NV and two great-grandsons, Jeffrey (Leslie) Hurst, Ogden, UT and Christopher Hurst, Ogden, UT, whom she considered as sons. She had 13 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild due in July. Jones, Evelyn Brown 1922-2005 OGDEN - Evelyn Brown Jones, 83, of Ogden. A great lady has left this earth to be with the ones that went before her. She passed away in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of Kenneth and Ruth Eastman Brown. She was also the grand daughter of Captain William A. Brown (1st Ogden City Police Officer killed in action). She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 49th Ward. She enjoyed working in the Relief Society. Evelyn will always be remembered for the 22nd Ward fund raising fair she put on in 1978. The proceeds went to a building fund. She was educated in the Ogden School system and graduated in 1940 from Ogden High School. Evelyn was a very hard worker and took everything in life as a challenge. She followed a statement given to her by her father, "You can do anything you want, the impossible just takes a little longer." Her children were her life. There is nothing she wouldn't do for them. Evelyn i s survived by her husband, Walter Duane Jones of Ogden, two sons Kenneth Aaron (Sharon) of Salt Lake City, Darwin K. Moncada, Dino Albert Dino Albert Moncada OGDEN - Dino passed away Friday, February 11, 2005 at his home. He was born in Clovis, New Mexico on December 23, 1965 to Mary Moncada. He is survived by his two sons, D'Angelo Anthony Moncada, Gino (BooBoo) Valentino Moncada, one daughter, Caressa Martinez and his girlfriend, Melinda Martinez. Also surviving is his mother, Mary Moncada Soto; four brothers, Michael Moncada, James Moncada, Junior Soto, Anthony Melendrez; his two sisters, Lupe Ledesma, Angelica Navarrete and his grandfather, Valentino Valdez and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Mrs. Valdez and his grandparents, Mr. And Mrs. Moncada. Dino loved his children, enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and playing his play station with his boys. Born June 14, 1942 in Ogden, Utah, he graduated from Weber High School. Ralph worked as a jet mechanic at HAFB. After retirement, he moved to Lava Hot Springs, Idaho, where he became a friend to everyone there. He was loved deeply by both friends and family. He loved the outdoors, and was an excellent fisherman. He spent many years helping others fight the tragedy of alcoholism, traveling far and wide teaching for AA. He was known for his many kind acts for those in need, both friend and stranger alike. Surviving are his sons Robert (Susan), Rod, and Scott Nelson, stepson Cliff Laughter, his grandchildren Tiffany, Cody, Shade, Mikayla, Casey, Jessica, Nikita, and Sarah, and a great-granddaughter, Jayden. Also surviving are his siblings Ken (Kuki), Judie (Jay) Ward, Sheldon (Vicki), Tom (Debbie), Dennis (Donna), Jerry (Linda), Rocky (Brenda), and Connie (Rod) Ha nsen. Poulsen, Gerald H. BRIGHAM CITY - Gerald Hyrum Poulsen, 71, passed away on Friday, February 11, 2005 at the Ogden Regional Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born on December 28, 1933 in Bloomington, Idaho, a son of Clarence and Pearl Nelson Poulsen. He served in the US Army in 1955, where he received an honorable discharge. Gerald met his sweetheart, Rachael Joyce Cochrane and they were married on March 30, 1958 in Elko, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple. He was a member of the Brigham City 16th Ward, where he had served as High Priest Group Leader. Gerald owned and operated HD Transfer in Ogden and Salt Lake City. He retired after 25 years of work. He is favorite past time was hunting. His dream came true when he had the opportunity to go on a safari in Africa with his brothers and friends from Montana. Surviving are his wife, Rachael, Brigham City; two daughters, Ann Frigon, Brigham City; Diane (Gary) Gines, Salt Lake City; five grandc hildren and three great grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers and two sisters, Glen C. Smith, Richard Melvin CLINTON - Richard Melvin Smith, 61, passed away Friday, February 11, 2005 at his home. He was born July 27, 1943 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Collins DeWitt and Grace Meldrum Smith. He was previously married to Kathryn Schlendorf and later divorced. He married Crystal Sanders November 20, 1993. Richard was raised in Kaysville and graduated from Davis High School. He received his Bachelors and Masters Degrees at BYU, and received his Ed D. in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He was a professor and enjoyed a private practice as a Marriage and Family Therapist. Richard served as a pilot with the U.S. Navy, and had flown with the Civil Air Patrol. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission in Scotland. He was currently the First Counselor in the Young Men's Presidency. He also taught the Marriage and Family Relations Sunday School class, and had served as a High Priest Group Leader, Primary Teacher, and a member of the Bishopri c. Richard had a great sense of humor, and he enjoyed fixing things. He was an avid pilot and enjoyed flying. Richard is survived by his wife Crystal, three sons Richard M. Weston, Etna Margaret Richins Etna Margaret Richins Weston Etna left the gray mists of Alzheimer's behind reaching upward for the brightness of eternity on February 10, 2005, in Bountiful, Utah. Etna was surrounded by her family who cherished her, especially her devoted husband, Dwayne, who has tenderly and lovingly cared for her during the eleven long years of her disease. Etna Margaret Richins Weston was born February 29, 1916 in Henefer, Utah, to Harvey William and Sarah Margaret Calderwood Richins from whom she received a noble heritage and faith to sustain her throughout her life. She had four brothers, Roy, Leo, Delbert and Arthur, and a sister, Verda. Etna graduated from North Summit high school in 1934 and later attended Stevens-Henager College. She was working at Remington Arms when she met her sweetheart, Dwayne. Their marriage on September 14, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois, was later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Etna had three great loves in her life: her love for her sweetheart Dwayne, her love for her Savior, and her love for her family. Etna took great joy in her companionship with Dwayne; even in the depths of Alzheimer's she was able to express her love for him. Etna's love for the Savior was shown through dedication to her many church callings and service to her family, friends, and anyone she saw in need. Each day she prayed to know who needed her help. Etna's love for her family was shown through her many talents of cooking, sewing, crocheting, embroidery work, and quilting. Most of all, she expressed her love through thoughtful deeds and through her example - Etna lived what she believed, a Christ-like life. Etna was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Roy and Leo. She is survived by her husband, Dwayne, and three daughters, Sue (Mike) Burningham, JoAnn (George) Billings, and Dianne (Paul) Lerdahl, 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
