Kynaston 1914 - 2005 Beth Pace Kynaston Christensen, 90, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed away February 10, 2005, in Roy, Utah. She was born November 14, 1914, to Harold E. Pace and Iva Stoddard, in Farmington, Utah, where she spent her youth and final years. She married Elgin Kynaston, January 28, 1931, in the Salt Lake Temple. He died in 1954. She then married Kenneth Christensen in 1956. He died in 1985. She worked for the telephone company for many years, Ken's Auto Parts in American Fork, and The Wight House until she retired 15 years later. Beth was an avid orchid grower with her own greenhouse and grew her beautiful flowers to give as gifts for the enjoyment of others. Beth's greatest love was for her family. She was never too busy to attend plays, ball games, recitals, and church events. Weekly family get-togethers were not uncommon. She was always baking and cooking to share with those she loved. Beth was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Serving in many positions. Beth lived an exemplary life to her family and all who knew her. Beth lived with her daughter Olive for many years until the time for more critical care became necessary. She is survived by a daughter, Olive (Richard) Hodson, Farmington, 3 sons, E. Dean (Cleone) Kynaston, Kaysville, Richard (Alice) Kynaston, Roy, and Udell (Shar) Kynaston, Kaysville. Stepson Neal (Lois) Christensen, now serving a mission. Sister-in-law Pearl K. Hilton. 35 grandchildren, 79 great-grand children and 12 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Dube, Hazel Violet SYRACUSE - Hazel Violet Dube, 86, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Saturday, February 12, 2005 at the McKay Dee Hospital. Hazel was born November 19,1918 in Holyoke, Massachusetts to Leon and Elsie Cousin Keeler. She lived her whole life in Massachusetts and moved last year with her daughter and son-in-law to Syracuse, Utah. She loved to sew, garden, and feed her birds and squirrels. She collected stuffed bears. Our time together here was much too short but we thank God for every day we had. Mum, we all love you and will miss you everyday. You have left behind wonderful memories for us to cherish. Hazel is survived by her son Robert (Carolyn) Paul and her daughter Hazel (Patrick) Walker, 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was born Nov. 20, 1938 in Wellsville, Utah to Fred Parker and Mary Hall Glenn. He married Sharon Crockett and later divorced. He then married Sharon Benson and then later divorced. He had no children from either marriage. He graduated from the twelfth grade and served four years in the Air Force as a fire fighter. He was a diesel mechanic, heavy equipment operator and master mechanic. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Carlos was a past member of the American Legion and Fraternal Order of Eagles. Carlos loved to fish and was successful most of the time. However, he would not reveal his favorite spot. When asked if he caught any fish he would reply, "That's why I go." Carlos had many friends and called them by nicknames. Survived by one brother, Phillip (Trudy) Glenn of Young Ward, two sisters Norma (Thomas) Otteson of Roy, Carolyn (Michael) Hirst of Hooper, and one brother-in-law Ray (Marilyn) Hulse of Logan and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews, and friends. Preceded in death by both parents and a sister, Marilyn Hulse. Hadley, Carl SOUTH OGDEN - Carl Donald Hadley, 82, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away February 12, 2005 at his home in South Ogden. He was born February 2, 1923 in Marriott, Utah to Alonzo and Iretta Butler Hadley. He grew up in Kanesville, Utah and graduated from Weber High School. He fell in love with and married his honey, Ruth Johnston, on August 17, 1942 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They shared 62 years of dancing, loving, serving and raising their wonderful family. Shortly after their marriage, Carl served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II for three years, including time in Okinawa. After the war, he was employed at Hill Air Force Base, working in procurement. His leadership abilities and his warm personality endeared him to the people who worked with him. He retired as a procurement analyst after 28 years. Carl enjoyed many quiet hours fishing and hunting. He was also an avid reader and sports fan. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many positions and he and his wife had the opportunity to share their talents with people of all ages as dance directors in many wards, stakes, and regions and on the Mutual Improvement Association General Board. He also served in the High Priest Group as a leader and a gifted teacher. Blessed with a beautiful voice, Carl sang with various quartets and choirs from the time he was 17 years old until his health prevented him from continuing. He had many unique opportunities while in the military to use his musical talents, and was proud to have led the singing in every Ward in which he lived. He especially enjoyed singing with choirs and special groups such as the Sounds of Music. Carl's dedication to his wife, and his love for his family and the gospel guided him throughout his life. He was a strong, gentle peacemaker whose quick wit and Cheshire Cat grin will be missed by all of us. Carl is survived by his wife, Ruth; one so n, Michael J. (Stephanie) Hadley, Glendale, AZ; and four daughters, RaNae (Dan) Harrop, North Ogden; Nadine Hanson, South Ogden; Christine (Michael) Norseth, Harrisville; Jill (Gaynard) Linsley, North Ogden; 15 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers, Dean Hadley, Roland (Murna) Hadley, Gordon (Maxine) Hadley; and three sisters, Dorothy Cole, June Heiser, and Joan (Ronald) Schultz. A great lady has left this earth to be with the ones that went before her. She passed away in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of Kenneth and Ruth Eastman Brown. She was also the grand daughter of Captain William A. Brown (1st Ogden City Police Officer killed in action). She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 49th Ward. She enjoyed working in the Relief Society. Evelyn will always be remembered for the 22nd Ward fund raising fair she put on in 1978. The proceeds went to a building fund. She was educated in the Ogden School system and graduated in 1940 from Ogden High School. Evelyn was a very hard worker and took everything in life as a challenge. She followed a statement given to her by her father, "You can do anything you want, the impossible just takes a little longer." Her children were her life. There is nothing she wouldn't do for them. Evelyn i s survived by her husband, Walter Duane Jones of Ogden, two sons Kenneth Aaron (Sharon) of Salt Lake City, Darwin K. Jones (Patty) of Farr West, and one daughter Linda Sauer (Chris) of Croyden, Utah, and one brother Karl Kenneth Brown, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Morgan SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Ida Nedra Morgan, 82, died Monday, February 7, 2005 in San Diego, California. She was born January 30, 1923 in Ogden, a daughter of Ralph Woodmansee and Artimesia Woolley Farr. On November 7, 1949, Ida married Hugh Raymond Morgan in Los Angeles, California. Hugh preceded her in death in April of 1982. Ida was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She worked for the San Diego County Area Agency on Aging for 15 years. Ida's greatest joy was spending time with her family. Surviving are two sons and two daughters, Hugh Andrew Morgan and Ronald Bradford Morgan, both of San Diego, CA; Cathy Dawn (Michael) Barrow, North Ogden; Judith Denise Morgan, San Diego, CA; and six grandchildren, Matthew, Garrett, Andrew, Ryan, Leah and Jenna. Ida is also survived by her brother and sisters, Artie Yeakey, Shirley Moore, Claudia Paradis and Gordon Farr. Nelson, died February 4, 2005, in Downey, Idaho. Born June 14, 1942 in Ogden, Utah, he graduated from Weber High School. Ralph worked as a jet mechanic at HAFB. After retirement, he moved to Lava Hot Springs, Idaho, where he became a friend to everyone there. He was loved deeply by both friends and family. He loved the outdoors, and was an excellent fisherman. He spent many years helping others fight the tragedy of alcoholism, traveling far and wide teaching for AA. He was known for his many kind acts for those in need, both friend and stranger alike. Surviving are his sons Robert (Susan), Rod, and Scott Nelson, stepson Cliff Laughter, his grandchildren Tiffany, Cody, Shade, Mikayla, Casey, Jessica, Nikita, and Sarah, and a great-granddaughter, Jayden. Also surviving are his siblings Ken (Kuki), Judie (Jay) Ward, Sheldon (Vicki), Tom (Debbie), Dennis (Donna), Jerry (Linda), Rocky (Brenda), and Connie (Rod) Ha nsen. Rock, Loraine Brooks Garfield Loraine Brooks Garfield Rock Coalville - Our loving mother and Grandma Raine having lived an exemplary life, passed away peacefully at her home on February 13, 2005 at the age of 82. Born July 15, 1922 in Coalville Utah, the daughter of William Earl and Nettie Crittenden Brooks. Loraine grew up on the Brooks family farm in Hoytsville, Utah where she and her 14 siblings learned the value of hard work. She married Ralph Laurel Garfield in 1940 and together they raised four children; Kent, Linda, Karen and Kerry. Although work moved them to several locations, Coalville was where they finally settled and it became their home. Upon Ralph's retirement they spent their winters in Quartzsite, Arizona for 18 years and made many friends while there. After Ralph's passing in 1991, she married Winn Rock of Mackay, Idaho. Their short time together was spent traveling and enjoying the expanded families. He passed away in 1997. Music was a passion to her, the accordion and organ were her favorites to p lay and she was always looking for a good music program to attend. Loraine was actively involved in the Senior Citizens organization and enjoyed participating in the band there. As a lifetime member of the LDS Church she served as Relief Society President of the Coalville 1st Ward and a faithful visiting teacher for many years. Loraine enjoyed any kind of sport, but softball was the sport she enjoyed playing herself. Year after year she followed her children and grandchildren to all of their games or activities, each time with a compliment or encouraging word. Traveling the world and country with her family or just to take the ladies for a little ride was an enjoyment for her. The next trip was planned before the current one was completed. She had many special friends who will miss her companionship, She would always extend an invitation to those she thought needed to get out or seemed lonely. Never to just sit idle, she was always crocheting another project, only to give it away to family or a friend in need. Her posterity have many beautiful afghans adorning their homes. What she had and you needed, she gave. Loraine was a woman of great strength, resilience, and accepted others just as they were. She was truly a woman that saw being a Mother as her most important role here on this earth. Mom has left us with a legacy of unconditional love, we will miss her. We cannot see her, but she is with us still. A mother like ours is more than a memory... she is a living presence. She is survived by two sons and two daughters: Kent Tink (Linda) Garfield; Linda (Leroy) Grant both of Coalville; Karen (David) Richins of American Fork; and Kerry Tub (Marla) Garfield of Henefer. She was a member of the Ogden Pioneer LDS Ward. Arlene loved cats and was active in many Internet communities. Her lifelong dream of seeing John Fogarty in concert came true last spring. Surviving are one son and one daughter, Curtis A. (Lesslie) Gibson of Ogden; Kristen (Shane) Sweet of Nampa, Idaho; six grandchildren; and one brother, Jim Sewright of Nyssa, Oregon. Tindle, Ronald Emmett HOOPER - Ronald Emmett Tindle, 67, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, February 13, 2005. He was born September 5, 1937, in New Albany, Indiana to William Walter and Mary Crawford Tindle. Ron was raised by his mother and stepfather, Gus Rager. On June 17, 1963, Ron married the love of his life, Gloria Esparza, in San Antonio, Texas. After his graduation from high school, he later obtained his Bachelors Degree from Southwest Texas University. Ron served his country as a Senior Master Sergeant in the Air Force during both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He had a very extensive military career and traveled worldwide. Ron is survived by his wife, Gloria; two daughters, Gina Marie Wetz, Kingsbury, Texas; Tracey Ann Mullenax, San Antonio, Texas; three grandchildren, Anthony, Taylor and Dakota; his mother, Mary Crawford Rager, New Albany, Indiana; two brothers, Charles Tindle, Hawaii; Billy Rager, New Albany, Indiana; and three sisters, Emma Jean Tama la, Hawaii; Barbara Karsner, Milltown, Indiana; and Mary (Sissy) Katherine Brewer, Milltown, Indiana. Vallier, Keo Keo Louise Auble Vallier OGDEN, 95, passed away February 13, 2005. She was born December 28, 1909 in Ord, Nebraska to Lewis James Auble and Mildred Louise Kemp. She spent her early life on a homestead near Winner, South Dakota. Keo graduated from Ord High School in 1927, and attended the University of Omaha where she received a Bachelor of Science degree, and later did graduate work in the field of Elementary Education. Her teaching career lasted 44 years. She met and later married Dale Clifton Vallier on June 10, 1940 in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. They made their home in various locations of the United States during Dale's term in the U.S. Army during World War II. After Dale's discharge from the army the couple settled in Bellevue, Nebraska in 1946 and resided there until 1973. Keo worked as a teacher in the Bellevue Public Schools during those years. Both Dale and Keo retired from their careers in 1973 and then moved to Ord, Nebraska. Dale passed away on June 13, 1975. Keo move d to Ogden, Utah in February of 1981. She became active in the Weber County Retired Seniors Volunteer program, donating much of her time in the field of music. Keo was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Ord, Nebraska. She attended the Washington Heights Baptist Church in Ogden and was active there in phases of church work. Keo was preceded in death by her husband Dale Vallier her parents, two brothers, Lewis Jay Auble and Elwin Lewis Auble, two sisters, Zola Mildred Schudel and Ruth Eleanor Swopes. She is survived by her sister, Myrnie Timmerman and many nieces and nephews. Private family services were held at Leavitt's Mortuary. Cremation was under the direction of Leavitt's Mortuary.
