He lived life to the fullest each moment he was here on this earth. He searched and lived for the feeling of freedom. He loved the wind as it ripped around him forcing the demons to be still and finally feel free as he rode his beloved Harley. He would also find another love that satisfied his need for adventure and that feeling of freedom - flying. He never felt more free or calm as he did when he was flying a 182 Cessna named '961 Gulf Whisky'. He had many, many friends, too many for any one person to remember except EJ. He couldn't go anywhere without running into a friend. He loved his friends so much that he spent his life giving what he had to those around him. He loved America and the freedom she provides so passionately that he chose to become a dedicated, committed, and proud United States Marine who served in Vietnam. He fought many demons in his short life, only to find the everlasting peace that Jesus Christ, his grea test love, could provide. In the last months of his life, he finally felt free and didn't need to run any more, his demons were gone and true peace followed. EJ joined the Lord on December 30, 2004 peacefully in his sleep at his home in Ogden Utah. For the past 14 years he has had an angel here on earth beside him, helping him find who he is and allowing him to be himself. This angel is his wife Patricia Ann Heck, who he lovingly called Patti Ann his Bunny. EJ has many family members who loved and accepted him. He was met in the afterlife by his son, Keith; his father, Edward Sr.; and his cousin, Peter. He is survived by his mother, Virginia Heck; daughters, Laura (David), and Naomi; his two sisters, Carol and Betty; his three brothers, Henry, Chris, and Peter; his cousin Kenny; his stepchildren, Kyle (Christel), Tracy (Craig), Luke (Danielle), Trevor (Angela); and 13 beautiful grandchildren.
