Terry was born June 22, 1941 in Ogden to Oliver and Delores D. (Horrocks) Adams. On June 19, 1967 he married Marsha Maughn. She died August 22, 1969. He later married Irene Millet on December 26, 1976 and they were later divorced. Terry didn't have a religious preference but he did believe in the Bible's promise of a resurrection; John 5:28, 29. He was a long time member of AA. Terry was big hearted and he especially loved children. They fondly called him Uncle Terry. He was dearly loved by many family members and by many of his friends. He would have liked to be remembered as very dependable, immaculate and always keeping his word. He is survived by his daughters, Shauna Adams and Shanna (Brian) Hughes both of Ogden; and his siblings, Marlene Young, Franceen Sears, Dixie (Edwin) Fournier, Rene (Joe) Shultz, Tammy (Trisha) Adams and Stacy Adams. Allen, 81, died Wednesday, January 26, 2005 in Ogden of causes incident to age. He was born April 20, 1923 in Layton, a son of Joseph Archie and Emma Cecilia Evans Allen. On July 3, 1943, Max married Ruth Obray in Colorado. They were later divorced. Max married Vonda Wahlen on July 29, 1977. He was raised and educated in Layton graduating from Davis High School. Max was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served his country during World War II with the U.S. Air Force. He worked in management for many years before retiring after 37 years of service from Hill Air Force Base. Max loved sports and was an avid bowler and loved to golf. He loved to watch the Utah Jazz Games. The family expresses special thanks to the staff at Crestwood Care Center for the loving care given to Max. Surviving are his wife, Vonda, of Ogden; three daughters, Kris (Louis) Richardson, Mt. View, CA; Suzanne Thorne, and Peggy Allen, both of Ogd en; one stepdaughter and three stepsons, Cindy (David) Scott, Midway, UT; Kerry (Julie) Wahlen, North Ogden; Bret (Tracy) Wahlen, Bountiful; Randy (Suk) Wahlen, Sandy; 23 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Bivins, Howard Vernon VIRGINIA - Howard Vernon Bivins, U.S. Navy retired, passed away Jan. 19, 2005. Born Nov. 12, 1938 in Santa Anna, Texas, he leaves behind his wife Mary McCarthy Bivins and three children, Suzanne and Ronald Meyer of Rowlett, Texas; Howard and Amy Bivins of Friendswood, Texas, and Christine and Jin Kim of Houston, Texas; along with four grandchildren, Brenda, Ashley, Ian Howard and Alexandra. He also leaves behind his mother, ZeWilla Bivins of Clearfield, Utah; a sister, Golda Ann Mazzella of Chino Valley, Ariz.; a brother, Joe L. Cottam, Rebecca June MARRIOTT-SLATERVILLE - Rebecca June Cottam, age 21, was born September 10, 1983 in Ogden, Utah to Elmer Donald and Sandra June Albiston Cottam. Becca returned to her Heavenly Father on Monday, January 24th, 2005, in an automobile accident having completed her mission here. She graduated from Fremont High School and Seminary in 2002. She earned her Young Womanhood Award. She attended Dixie College for one year then transferred to Weber State University where she was a junior majoring in accounting. She was an accountant and server at the family restaurant, Melina's Mexican Restaurant in Farr West. She was an honor student and excelled in everything she tried. She loved snowboarding, line dancing and traveling. She was a joy to be around and loved everyone she met. She had the most wonderful, vibrant smile in this world. She especially loved her 19 nieces and nephews. She is survived by her parents in Slaterville; seven brothers and two sisters: Donald, Seattle, Washington; Terri Strand, Harrisville; Thomas, Slaterville; Maree Heaton, Slaterville; Joseph (Alicia), Pleasant View; Dr. David (Holley), Durham, North Carolina; Benjamin (Joni), Mountain Green; William (Misty), Pocatello, Idaho; and John (Dallas), Mountain View, Wyoming. She is also survived by one grandmother, June Albiston of St. George, Utah; and 19 nieces and nephews. Evans, Daphne Dorothy OGDEN - Daphne Dorothy Flora Marsh Evans, 78, passed away January 26, 2005 in Ogden, UT. She was born July 5, 1926 in Cambridge, England to Albert John and Dorothy M. (Sorrell) Marsh. Daphne married Nelson Alfred Evans on December 16, 1944 in Bottisham, England. From this union two daughters were born. She was enjoyed reading, gardening and knitting. Daphne is survived by her two daughters, Karn D. Cox and Marsha D. Evans-Mielke; a brother, Colin Albert Arthur Marsh of England, three grandchildren, Melissa D. Graham, Evan Evan Graham SOUTH OGDEN - Evan Graham, 81, returned to his Father in Heaven Wednesday, January 26, 2005 following a sudden stroke. He was surrounded by his loved ones. Evan was born July 13, 1923 in Fairview, Utah, to James Richard Graham and Ellen Eliza Checketts Graham. Evan spent his youth in Fairview and Mount Pleasant, Utah. He graduated from North Sanpete High School in 1942. Evan honorably served his country in the South Pacific during World War II. He loved serving his country and was a very patriotic man. After returning from the Army to Ogden, Utah, he met and married his beloved wife LaRene Hale in the Salt Lake Temple, where they were sealed for time and all eternity on June 9, 1947. Evan worked for Boyles Furniture for 30 years, and spent 38 years managing the North Star Drive-In Theatre. Family and friends loved the time they spent working by his side. Evan was a perfect example of an honest and hard working-man. He was always the first to lend a helping hand. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in numerous church callings. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, LaRene, his son Mark (Pam) Graham, his daughter Annagay (Casey) Shorten, his sister Loa Armstrong, nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Hamby, Rayda Rayda Evelyn Winterrose Hamby, 86, formerly of Clearfield, Utah, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, at her home in Chandler, AZ. She was born May 15, 1918, in Heber City, Utah, to John Gustave and La Preal Mitchell Winterrose. She married James Fred Hamby of Ellington, MO, on Sept. 6, 1938, in Heber City, Utah. The marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on March 14, 1957. He preceded her in death on March 25, 2000. She graduated from Wasatch High School in 1936 and attended LDS Business College in Salt Lake City. She had worked at the bank in Heber and Beaver, Utah, She retired from Hill Air Force Base in 1974 where she worked as an administrative assistant. She served faithfully in the LDS Church as a visiting teacher, a Sunday School and Young Women teacher, and as a member of the Relief Society Presidency. She was a member of Daughters of Utah Pioneers and American Business Women's Association where she served as president. She was an expert seamstress. She l oved to read, do ceramics, and collected dolls. She is survived by three children: James Kent (Jane) Hamby of Burley, ID, Wayne D. (Nilva) Hamby of Brazil, and Susan Kay Jacobson of Chandler, AZ. She is survived by 18 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers: Albert Winterrose (Jacqueline) of Heber City, Utah, and John D. (Audrey) Winterrose of Clearfield. She was preceded in death by two sisters: Dorothy W. Gordon and Geneva Winterrose. EDEN - James Alexander Heazlett, 56, died Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at his home in Eden, Utah. Jim was a native Californian who spent most of his life in the Palm Springs area. He was a graduate of Palm Springs High School and attended Cal-Poly, Pomona. Jim began his law enforcement career with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department in 1970. In 1971 he began working for the Palm Springs Police Department and after 31 years of service retired as a Commander in January of 2002. In addition to his law enforcement career, Jim retired after 25 years with the California Army National Guard as a Major. Jim loved both his law enforcement career as well as his service in the Guard and felt that the information he shared from both jobs was beneficial to all. Jim was a teacher at heart and taught law enforcement classes at College of the Desert. He also taught both officers and civilians for the Police Department. Teaching was one of the things he loved best. In additi on to his other jobs, Jim excelled as a husband and father. He is survived by his wife Mary, his son James, both of Eden; and his son Mathew currently serving a tour of duty with the Army in Iraq. OGDEN - Helen Wayment Hollingshead, 69, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 26, 2005 due to an extended illness. She was born November 18, 1935 in Ogden, UT. She married Sterlin Hollingshead on October 26, 1962 in Rawlings, WY; their marriage was later sealed in the Ogden Temple on December 30, 1972. Helen was an Associate Professor of Nursing at Weber State College, receiving her degrees at Weber State College, and Bachelor of Nursing at U of U. She was a member of the North Ogden LDS 8th Ward. She served as a Young Women's Advisor, Primary teacher, Cub Scout Den Mother, Relief Society teacher, Canning Coordinator, and became a Golden Gleaner in her youth. Helen was active in the community as a Red Cross and a Hospice volunteer. Surviving are her husband, Sterlin Hollingshead; sons and daughters, Jon W Hollingshead, Ogden; Cara (Bryce) Jones and granddaughter, Bradie Jill Jones, Henefer; Amy (Ray) Lopez, Ogden; adopted son, Hamid (Wendy) Janversan , and adopted grandsons, Holden and Chasse Janversan, Cottonwood. Also surviving are brothers and sisters, June Orton, Connie Rhees, Mildred (Robert) Bird, Lorna (Carl) Barker, Jenae Shupe (William T-Bill) Wayment, Gene (Diane) Wayment. Lewis, Gisela Schulmeyer Our beloved Mother, Gisela Schulmeyer Lewis has passed to a better place. A native of Langen, Germany she loved to entertain, travel and cook. She was an avid gardener. As a military wife for 20 years she was able to see many new places and experience many new things. She put a smile on everybody's face that she met. She leaves behind her two sons, Allen (Sharon) Lewis and Tim (Bernadette) Lewis; her grandson, Shaun Lewis and niece, Bianca (Thomas) Keating. McCracken Jr., Luther Luther S. McCracken Jr., died on Wednesday, January 26, 2005. He was the beloved husband of Susan Gonzales McCracken, loving father of Kevin Chapman, Meredith McCracken, Jacob Chapman and Jason Chapman; son of Delsa Hebdon McCracken and Luther Scrowther McCracken; brother of Henry McCracken, LaRaine McClure, Michael H. Nusz, Sr. passed away peacefully on January 25, 2005 at Rocky Mountain Nursing Home surrounded by his family. David was born on July 10, 1907 in Nischen-Dobrinki, Russia to George Friedrick Nusz and Catharina Elizabeth Feil Nusz. In 1909 David, his parents and two sisters, Molly and Julia, immigrated to the United States at Galveston, TX. David grew up in Okeene, OK and Dorrance, KS. He joined the Army Air Corp. in 1927, finally retiring from the Air Force in 1950. In 1934, while stationed at the Presidio in San Francisco, CA David became a citizen of the U.S. He served in Hawaii, the Philippines, Alaska and several stateside bases. While Dave was stationed in Denver he met his wife, Rosalie on a blind date. They were married on May 17, 1941. After retirement he worked as a groundskeeper at Bethany College in Lindsborg, KS before entering civil service at Schilling AFB, Salina, KS. When Schilling AFB closed in 1965 Dave and his wife, Rosalie, moved to Layton, UT. Dave continued his civil service work until his retirement in 1970. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Rosalie, who resides at Chancellor Gardens in Clearfield; one son, David, Jr. (Joyce), Fallon, NV; one daughter, Beth (Bill) Yoder, Clearfield, UT; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, and one grandchild. Pitchford, Allie Meacham ROY - Allie (Lee) Meacham Pitchford, wife, mother and grandmother, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2005. She was born April 25, 1914 in Logan, Cache County, Utah, a daughter of Darwin E. and Lilly May Rogers Meacham, the eighth of ten children. Allie married Robert Benjamin Mudd, February 18, 1931. They were later divorced. On July 23, 1936 she married Malcolm Elwood Pitchford in Green River, Wyoming. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple May 18, 1942. Allie loved art, theater and music. She was an accomplished musician and played the piano, organ and marimba. She wrote a piece of music that was performed at the Hill Comorah Pagent in New York. She played professionally for weddings, parties and church, etc. She also spent many years teaching piano and organ. She touched many lives for good and taught her own daughter and many of her grandchildren to play. Allie was a paralegal secretary and worked for an attorney in Idaho. She was an e ntrepreneur deluxe. She owned a women's and children's ready to wear store in Nebraska and Utah. She promoted her business on the radio and had professional models at her stores. She was a master sales woman and became an executive for Relax-a-Cizor and then went on to build an organization that was unparalleled with Con Stan Industries and Nutri Metrics International. She earned every award available in Con Stan including Presidents awards, trips all over the world, Ford and Lincoln Continentals and gorgeous home in the prestigious hills of Hayward, California. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various capacities including the Young Women's Program, organist for all organizations, and Relief Society President. Surviving are her children, James Lawrence (Karen) Pitchford, Roy; Beverly (Travis) Weaver, Hooper; daughter-in-law, Pauline Mudd , San Antonio, Texas; sister, Hazel (Bob) Wilson, Alta Loma, California; three sisters-in-law, Genieve Meacham, Kaysville; Maude Meacham, Ogden; June (Alan) Green, Tennessee; 14 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Allie was preceded in death by her Husband, two sons, William Lewis Mudd and Warren David Mudd, five brothers, three sisters, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Lindquist's Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South, with Bishop Brett Weaver, a grandson, officiating. Pulido, Roger 1948 - 2005 OGDEN - Roger Pulido, age 56, died January 12, 2005, in Ogden, Utah. He was born October 5, 1948, in Los Angeles, California, son of Frances and Manuel Pulido. He grew up and resided in Ogden, Utah. He graduated from Ogden High School and attended Weber State College. He worked at Hercules, Inc., and then Hill Air Force Base until he retired. While there he became a Union Rep and helped many fellow employees. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. While serving in Germany, he became the 119 lb. 3rd armor division, boxing champion in 1969. Serious health problems marred his latter years to live life to its fullest. In the years prior to his illness, Roger enjoyed boxing and later became Boxing Coach at the Marshall White Center and started the Inner City Boxing Inc. He was a Golden Glove State Champion in the early 70's. In his early years he devoted his time to teaching young boys the art of boxing and helped to lure them away from joining stree t gangs. Roger was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. He will always be remembered for his smile, love, and time for everyone. He was loved and will be missed by all who had the opportunity to know him. He was preceded in death by his father, Manuel, and one brother, Anastacio (Tacho). He is survived by his mother, Frances, Ogden; brothers Danny (Jeri), Layton, Richard, Ogden, Ernie (Connie), Roy, and sisters Cecilia Teeter (Kim), Ogden, and Antonia R. Treseder, North Ogden. Weaver, Helen Edena Smith NORTH OGDEN - Helen Weaver, 85, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2005 at the home of her daughter. Helen was born on October 4, 1919, in Cedron, Idaho, to Albert Alvin Smith and Maud Ann Elizabeth Miller Smith. She graduated from Teton High School and L.D.S. Seminary in 1938. She completed her nurse's training at the Idaho Falls Hospital School of Nursing in 1941 and later completed an Obstetric Nursing post-graduate course at the University of Chicago Lying-in Hospital in May 1948. Rex E. Weaver married Helen on February 19, 1942, in Tacoma, Washington, while serving in the U.S. Army, WWII. Rex died in 1977. Rex and Helen built their home and resided in Ucon, Idaho, to raise their family. After her retirement, Helen moved from Idaho Falls to Farr West, Utah in 1993 to be with her family. Helen was a devoted obstetric nurse until her retirement in 1985 after 42 years. She practiced nursing in Idaho, Illinois, Washington, Texas, Oklahoma, and Alaska. Knitting, crocheting, tatting, needlepoint, quilting, embroidery, and oil painting were her favorite hobbies. She was a master at needlework, oil painting, and generously gave to her family, friends, and neighbors. Temple work at the Idaho Falls and Ogden Temples were her great joy, and she valued her testimony of her Lord and Savior. She enjoyed quilt making for the L.D.S. Humanitarian Service. Her natural ability to serve others and make friends will long be remembered. Everyone who knew her loved her. Helen was what you would call a true friend. She was a very loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed. Surviving Helen are her two sisters: ReNeen (Andy) Andrews and Crystal (David) Hillier; two children: DyAna (Dennis) Longhurst, North Ogden, UT; and Rick (Minnie) Weaver, Eagle River, AK; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Williams, Frank Nathan LAYTON - Frank Nathan Williams 78, our beloved Father, Grandfather, Brother and Friend died Jan. 23, 2005 at his home. Frank was born in Newark, New Jersey December 24, 1926. He was married to Lucille Campbell for 35 years, and stood by her side taking care of her for another 13 years. He served as a Merchant Marine, served in the Army for four years and was in the USAF Resv. for over 25 years. He was proud of having the honor to serve his country. He also worked and retired from HAFB Civil Service. Frank loved the Green Bay Packers and New York Yankees. He collected cards, coins, stamps, and antiques. He enjoyed playing cards with his friends at the Senior Citizen Center. Frank was most known by his friendliness to others. He welcomed people with open arms and loved to share stories about his life and family. This made him loved and adored by many. Surviving are six children: Frank K. Williams, Larry P. Williams, Debra W. (Izatt), Mike S. McDill, Barbara Wallac e, Judy Profaizer; brother, John Gus Williams; sister, Johanna Marie Williams; Grandchildren: Dustin, David, Kimberly Izatt, McKayla, Haylie, Davis Williams, Natasha and Jessica McDill, John, Brandon and Cassie Montgomery, Cheri Norton, Mark Schow; and 14 great-grandchildren.
