Roger G. Atchison After a life richly lived, Roger George Atchison died in the loving arms of his daughters on June 17. Roger was born September 1, 1934 in Caledonia, NY. He grew up on a farm and was particularly close to his uncle, F. Edward Stone. After an early life filled with hijinks that are remembered in stories today, Roger joined the Navy in 1954. A career Navy officer, Atch particularly enjoyed the time he spent with his buddies in Japan, serving on the Coral Sea, his work as a meteorologist, and his assignment to the Hurrican Hunters. Treasured friends from the military include Sally Balkema, Richard Owens, and Jim Romano - to name a few. Roge met the love of his life, Nancy Wawro, in 1958 and married her four months later. They were blessed with two daughters, Elaine Marie and Erin Elisabeth. Nancy died too early, in 1978, leaving her family a legacy of love. Mr. A retired after 27 years in the Navy in Jacksonville, FL. He spent the years since bird-watching, woodworkin g, trail-building, traveling with his dogs, and staying in touch with friends and family. He moved to Monticello, FL in 1997 and made many new friends. The joy of Roger's life was being a grandfather, Pappa Scruffy Face to Sarah Elisabeth, age 3 and Helen Nicole, 3 months. Roger is survived by his daughters; son-in-law Brad Gause and William J. Bouthillier; granddaughters; brother, Peter Atchison; sister, Judy Wright; Uncle Eddie and Aunt Armada Stone; cousin Richard Stone; godson John Thabes; and many other relatives and friends. She was born July 4, 1916 in Bloomington, Bear Lake, Idaho to Thomas Reese Ward and Harriet Adelia Thompson Ward. She married Amos John Clements on November 22, 1937 in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived in Rigby, ID after their marriage and then in Idaho Falls, ID for 22 years before moving to North Ogden. He preceded her in death on September 12, 1991. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in the Relief Society Presidency seven times throughout her many years of service. She was also Sunday School Coordinator, Ogden Temple worker, and was a visiting teacher until she passed away. She served in the Pink Lady Auxiliary for the Idaho Falls Hospital. Surviving are her children, Leta (Arnold) Nef, Kaysville, UT; Lester Thomas (Eileen) Clements, Richmond, UT; Amy C. (the late Michel) Pancheri, Idaho Falls, ID; Donna (Gary) Pitt man, Salt Lake City, UT; John Ward (Susan) Clements; 25 grandchildren; and 42 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the North Ogden 16th Ward Chapel, 205 E. Elberta Drive. She was born Feb. 18, 1919 in Orangeville, UT to Fredrick W. and Vila Jewkes Fail. She married Leland Laramie Davis in May of 1940 in the Manti LDS Temple. He passed away March 1, 1973. As an active member of the LDS Church she served in various callings, most notably as a temple missionary in the Chicago Temple. Cleo is survived by her children and their spouses; Leland Paul and Lynda Davis of Ogden; Max E. and LaRayne Davis of Price; Fredrick Rick and Pam Davis of Salem; Rosann Fillmore of Orangeville; 19 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Also survived by sister Lorna Davis and a special sister-in-law, Enid Fail, as well as her beloved nephews and nieces. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother Vaughn Fail. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 1, 2004 at 11:30 in the Orangeville LDS Chapel. CLEARFIELD - Haruye Kosaiku Endo, 77, died Tuesday, June 28, 2005 at Davis Hospital and Medical Center in Layton, following a lingering illness. She was born March 25, 1928 in Layton, a daughter of Kaihei and Moju Nakamura Kosaiku. On April 27, 1957, Haruye married Masao Endo in Ogden. She was reared and educated in Layton and attended the Davis County Schools graduating from Davis High School. She also attended the University of Utah. She lived in Clearfield since 1957. Haruye was a member of the Ogden Buddhist Temple and the Buddhist Women's Association. She also served as Assistant Girl Scout Leader for the Ogden Buddhist Temple. She loved to spend time with her family, crochet, and travel to different places. Surviving are her husband of Clearfield; two daughters, Gaylene (Mark) Koehn, Montgomery, TX; and Linda Endo, Clearfield. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Matsumi Kosaiku Audick, Yaeko (Kay) Kosaiku Kawano Higashino and Ruby Kosaiku (infant) . Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Ogden Buddhist Temple, 155 North Street. OGDEN - Clark Ray Hickenlooper, 88, our Dad, Grandpa, Hero, Brother, and Friend, died Tuesday, June 28, 2005 at his home. He was born February 18, 1917 in Pleasant View, a son of Ray Charles and Vera Jensen Hickenlooper. He was reared and educated in Pleasant View graduating from Weber High School. On July 19, 1937, Clark married his sweetheart, Ida May Olsen, in Plain City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on March 2, 1956. She preceded him in death on April 27, 1995. Dad was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Five Spring Ward in South Ogden. He served as a Home Teacher and held various other callings. He was a veteran of World War II serving on a Naval Ship in the Pacific Theater. Clark retired from Defense Depot Ogden after 30 years of service. He was a mechanic and handy-man. Clark was an avid NBA Jazz fan with his son-in-law Blaine always by his side. Surviving are four daughters, Carol (Blaine) F urgeson, Ogden; Connie (Doug) Harmston, Layton; Vera (Mel) Wright, North Ogden; Judy (Steven) Marsh, Roy; daughter-in-law, Carole Hickenlooper, Hyde Park, UT; 28 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Ardis (Don) Ellis, Washington Terrace. He was preceded in death by his wife, son Wayne, and sisters Venna Larkin and Maxine Leavitt. Jeane Perkins KAYSVILLE - Long time resident Jeane Perkins, 82, passed away peacefully at home, Wednesday, June 29, 2005 surrounded by family. Jeane was born in Butler, Missouri on May 13, 1923 to LeRoy and Susie Stover. She married Irvin Perkins in Weiser, Idaho in 1941 and they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on August 20, 1952. Irv and Jeane moved to Kaysville in 1946 and have lived here ever since. Jeane worked at the Davis County cold storage for 25 years, as well as raising four lively boys. She loved camping and fishing with her family. Grandkids and great grandkids were a special joy for Jeane and she will be missed by all. Jeane was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and of all her callings, she loved visiting teaching the most. We know she is now with her Father in Heaven. Jeane is survived by her husband, Irv; her four sons and their wives: John (Andrea), Jack (Cookie), Ron (Donna), and Randy (Carol). She is also survived by her 11 gran dkids, 18 great-grandkids, and four great-great-grandkids. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, brother, and great-great-grandson Logan Conover. Welter, Cathie Leigh Cathie Leigh Welter On Wednesday, June 29, 2005, God called her home and released her from her broken body after a long, hard and brave battle with breast cancer. Cathie was born March 12, 1957 in Macon, GA. She graduated with honors from Rancho High in Las Vegas, Nevada. Cathie married Curtis Welter and God blessed them with two lovely daughters, Laura and Courtney Welter. She cherished her children more than life itself. She lived in Europe and traveled abroad with her family for eight years. They settled in Roy in 1998. Cathie was employed at the Ogden IRS office. She will be truly missed. Cathie is survived by her husband, Curtis and her daughters, Laura and Courtney, all of Roy; her mother, Juanita Whitley, Las Vegas, NV; a brother, Randy Whitley, Las Vegas, NV; and a sister, Janet Martin, Las Vegas, NV.
