OGDEN - Hubert Kay Crook, 90, died Tuesday, July 5, 2005 at his home in Ogden. He was born January 14, 1915 in Smoot, Wyoming, a son of Willard Hyrum and Alzada Angeline Welker Crook. On September 2, 1942, Hubert married Delsa Foulger in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Delsa preceded him in death on August 28, 2000. Hubert was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission to Texas. He served in Bishoprics, on the High Council, an Ogden Temple worker and in many other callings throughout his life. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Army Air Corp. Hubert was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. Hubert worked as a carman for the Southern Pacific Railroad retiring after 32 years of service. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Carman of America and Canada. He loved to garden, fish and spend time with his family. Surviving are two sons and two daughters, Brent (Susan) Crook, Larry (Beverly) Crook, and C onnie (Jerry) Sorensen, all of Harrisville; Nancy (Marlo) Tullis, Uintah Highlands; 22 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving is one sister, Sara (Grant) Allred, Shelley, Idaho. Preceding him in death were his parents, three brothers, four sisters and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may call at the mortuary on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday 10 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd., where Military Honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard. Fairman, Marzell "Steamboat" LAYTON - Marzell "Steamboat" Fairman, 82 passed away on July 7, 2005. He was born on January 28, 1923 to Minor and Mary Fairman in Brookhaven, MI. He married Cellersteen Smith on December 24, 1949 in Brookhaven, MI. Marzell was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved people as was known as a man of high standards. He was full of wisdom. He loved Jesus. He raised his family to respect others and to turn the other cheek. He left a solid foundation based on God's words that his family can stand firmly together on until we meet again in Heaven. Marzell served in the U.S. Army proudly during WWII. He was a member of Layton VFW Post 8307, and loved his many long time friends and fishing buddies. Marzell is survived by his wife, children Marzell, Jr., Billy Ray, Colleen, Johnny O'Neil, Terry Tojo, Gary "Bo", and Catrina. He also leaves 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Haun, Rodney David OGDEN - Rodney David Haun chose to take his own life on July 7, 2005, after a long struggle from a painful disease. He was born November 24, 1969, in Ogden, Utah. Rodney is survived by his wife, Andrea, two children, Taylor and Charlie. He is also survived by his mother, Diane Turner Howell and Darwyn Howell. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Haun and grandparents, Bruce and Doris Haun and his maternal grandmother, Grandma T (Mary Beth Turner). His beloved and devoted Aunt Margo and Uncle Rick, who faithfully stayed by his side until the end, are much in the hearts of his family. His grandfather, David Earl Turner, and many aunts and uncles and cousins remember the many good years of fishing, boating, tennis and sporting events which are wonderful family memories. Rodney was a graduate of Ben Lomond High School where he lettered in golf, tennis, and track and played many sports. All his life, he loved his many fishing trips to Flaming Gorge where he enjoyed the company of his father and grandparents who lived there each summer. In later years, he enjoyed his beautiful boat which was the gathering place for many family outings. He was a successful businessman who found great satisfaction in his business ventures. He started a good plastics business in Salt Lake City with his uncle and then was eager to have his own company which was beginning to show great success. Rodney was a loving parent who cared deeply for his children. He monitored their school progress and involved them in many sporting events. Rodney's greatest legacy is his love for his family and their welfare. Life was a voyage and an adventure for Rodney; it was an experience he valued, and a challenge he felt eager to face. In later years, he faced a serious illness which consumed him. He is deeply loved by his family and he will be missed by so many. The family puts him in their hearts and minds and sends him on his way with all their love and memories. The family will meet friends at 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13th at Lindquist' Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., at the mortuary, and interment will follow at the Ogden City Cemetery. Hawes, LaRue Rogers On Thursday, July 7, 2005, LaRue Rogers Hawes, returned to the loving arms of her Eternal Love and her Heavenly Father. She passed into peace and love surrounded by her loving family after a long and very painful illness. LaRue was born January 25, 1928, to Raley Slaten Rogers and Julia Fellows in Lewiston, Utah. She attended the schools in Cache County and graduated from North Cache High School. She fell in love with Garland Boyd Hawes when she was 14 and never stopped loving him. They were married for time and all eternity in the Logan LDS Temple on August 7, 1946. They had seven children, six boys and one girl, 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. LaRue worked as a cook in the Ogden LDS Temple for nine years and as a cashier in Deseret Industries for eight years, She made many friends wherever she was, always quick with a smile for everyone. LaRue served in many positions in the LDS Church and was a very devoted and active member. She enjoyed serving and doing good for her Father in Heaven. LaRue is survived by her seven children, Boyd Lynn Hawes, Rose Marie, Bruce (Colleen) Hawes, Don (Linda) Hawes, Rick (Tracy) Hawes, Randy (Judy) Hawes and Dave Hawes, 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, William Blaine (Pauline) Rogers and one sister, Joan Lewis. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, her parents, one sister and two brothers. She was born August 16, 1922 to Jesse and Georgia Reed in Evanston, Wyoming. She married Frank M. McKinnon in 1943; they were later divorced. She married Edward H. Maass in 1967; he died in 2000. She was a member of several nursing associations and worked as a Nurse in local hospitals. She was a member of and served 2 years with the National Health Service Core as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She was a member of the LDS church and held many callings. She truly loved all of God's creations. She is preceded in death by her husband Edward, her daughter Elaine L. Beazer McKinnon, her twin sister Darlene, her brother James, her parents, and many beloved pets. She is survived by her two daughters, Barbara L. McKinnon of Henderson, NV, and Wendy McKinnon Schmitzer of Fountain Hills, AZ. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Jodi Beazer Hess, Brandon Beazer, Kate Schmitzer, Steven Schmitzer, and great-grandchildren, Chaella Oliver and Royce Oliver. Jordan was born on September 3, 1997 in Ogden to Michael Evan Morse and Melanie Linda Pagano. Jordan was raised in Ogden, Sunset and Clearfield. He attended Doxey Elementary school. Jordan enjoyed playing video games, army games with his massive collection of water weaponary, swimming, wrestling and eating with his brother Nore. Jordan loved spending time with Daddy. He also enjoyed sleepovers at "Bamma's" house, watching TV and playing with his Timmy. Nore also taught Jordan how to ride a bike. He will be deeply missed. He is survived by his parents: Michael Morse, Melanie Pagano, and Tim Bywater. Two brothers: Nore Dusk Morse, and Tannyr Morse, and one sister Jessica Bywater. Also survived by grandparents Margaret Blakley Olson, Maureen McKay, Sharlene and Ron Morse, Gwen White, Lowell Pagano and Clifton Turek, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was born January 9, 1921 in Ogden, Utah to George Wells and Sylvia Abigail Beecher Hadfield. She married Elmer S. Mumford, March 20, 1942 in Los Angeles, CA. He passed away October 19, 2000. Norma graduated from Davis High School. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a cub scout den mother, primary teacher and member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Norma was a homemaker and was a very kind and loving person and loved giving service to all. She enjoyed gardening, making candles, church activities and volunteer work. Norma is survived by her son Steven J. Mumford, Ann Arbor, MI; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, son Craig, parents, and nine brothers and sisters. Tippett, Tina Marie Tina Marie Tippett LAYTON - In the early morning hours of July 8, 2005, wife, daughter, niece and granddaughter Tina Marie Kelsey returned home to her Heavenly Father. Born September 28, 1972 to Gary McKay Kelsey and Randie Heaps. Tina had lived most of her life in Layton. She attended Central Davis Jr. High at which a life long friendship had begun with Kim Norton and Tina's other "mom", Sharon Schocknmyer. She graduated from Layton High in 1991. She also attended Fran Brown Beauty College and the DATC. On May 20, 2005 Tina married her soul mate Charlie Tippett. She was a member of the Valley View 3rd Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She is survived by her husband Charlie, daughter Jacquelyn, parents Gary McKay Kelsey and Randie Heaps, sisters Kandy Schaeffer and Brandie Kay Kelsey, brother Brandon Kelsey, many nieces and nephew, aunts, uncles and cousins, and her grandparents.
