He was born on January 28, 1923 to Minor and Mary Fairman in Brookhaven, MI. He married Cellersteen Smith on December 24, 1949 in Brookhaven, MI. Marzell was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved people as was known as a man of high standards. He was full of wisdom. He loved Jesus. He raised his family to respect others and to turn the other cheek. He left a solid foundation based on God's words that his family can stand firmly together on until we meet again in Heaven. Marzell served in the U.S. Army proudly during WWII. He was a member of Layton VFW Post 8307, and loved his many long time friends and fishing buddies. Marzell is survived by his wife, children Marzell, Jr., Billy Ray, Colleen, Johnny O'Neil, Terry Tojo, Gary "Bo", and Catrina. He also leaves 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Fuhriman, David Edwin David Edwin Fuhriman "Grandpa Ed" passed away on July 10, 2005 in Salt Lake City. Ed was born on December 2, 1913 to John D. and Margaret Rice Fuhriman in Providence, Utah. He graduated from South Cache High School. Ed married Belle Adams on May 29, 1942. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Ed loved the Lord and was valiant in his service to Him. In all his callings he gave the best he had. He was a High Priest in the 21st North Ward where he served in two Bishoprics. He also served on the Emigration Stake High Council under four Stake Presidents. In addition he was Elders Quorum President, Ward Assistant High Priest Quorum Group Leader, Stake Young Men's President and was a faithful Home Teacher. Professionally he was known as an honest and hard worker. He began his career at D&RG Railroad where he served his apprenticeship as journeyman boiler maker. After WWII he was employed by Eimco Corporation and retired from there after 30 years o f employment. Ed was preceded in death by his wife, a son Russell, three sisters and 4 brothers. He is survived by three children: Margaret (Warren "Butch) Latey, South Jordan, Claudia (Glen) Eliason, Ogden, and one son David H. (Karen) Fuhriman, Salt Lake City. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Ed loved working in his garden on the Avenues where he shared his fruits, vegetables and flowers with his family, friends and neighbors for many years. He was known and loved by many as a great friend and neighbor. He was most proud of the titles "Dad" and "Grandpa," and was loved and revered by those who called him such. Gardner, Betty Edna Beck LAYTON - Betty Beck Gardner, 81, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2005 at Apple Village Assisted Living Center, in Layton, Utah of natural causes. Betty was born August 30, 1923 in Riverside, CA to Clair Mathew Beck, Sr., and Mary Edna Clark. The family moved to Kansas and then Jay, Florida where she graduated from high school. Mom met Norman George Gardner in Pensacola, FL where she worked as a soda jerk. Dad was stationed at Eglin Field and fell for mom and her pineapple milkshakes immediately. They were married April 1, 1945 in Pensacola. They moved to Huntington, UT where they started their family, then moved to Farmington, UT where she joined the LDS church and served many years in the Primary organization and raised her five children. Mom and Dad were active in the Farmington Jaycees organization where she served as President of the women's auxiliary. Mom is survived by her sisters, Eleanor Green, Macon, GA; Doris Braunhardt, Ft. Pierce, FL; and her children, Harry (Linda); Carol (Ray) Rasmussen; Darlene (Norman) Robbins; Beckie (Steve) Dragon; Gary. Mom and Dad have 26 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman, and brothers, Claire, Jr., Donald and Harry. The family will remember her love for swimming. She was a Red Cross swimming instructor at the Lagoon Resort for many years. And also for her love of acrobatics in the years she spent as a drum majorette for Jay High School. Well, Mom, you finally made it after all the hardships and challenges placed in your path. We celebrate with you, your graduation to a higher calling. Your family and friends love you dearly and are grateful for our association with you. You and your sweet spirit will be missed. Haun, Rodney David OGDEN - Rodney David Haun chose to take his own life on July 7, 2005, after a long struggle from a painful disease. He was born November 24, 1969, in Ogden, Utah. Rodney is survived by his wife, Andrea, two children, Taylor and Charlie. He is also survived by his mother, Diane Turner Howell and Darwyn Howell. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Haun and grandparents, Bruce and Doris Haun and his maternal grandmother, Grandma T (Mary Beth Turner). His beloved and devoted Aunt Margo and Uncle Rick, who faithfully stayed by his side until the end, are much in the hearts of his family. His grandfather, David Earl Turner, and many aunts and uncles and cousins remember the many good years of fishing, boating, tennis and sporting events which are wonderful family memories. Rodney was a graduate of Ben Lomond High School where he lettered in golf, tennis, and track and played many sports. All his life, he loved his many fishing trips to Flaming Gorge where he enjoyed the company of his father and grandparents who lived there each summer. In later years, he enjoyed his beautiful boat which was the gathering place for many family outings. He was a successful businessman who found great satisfaction in his business ventures. He started a good plastics business in Salt Lake City with his uncle and then was eager to have his own company which was beginning to show great success. Rodney was a loving parent who cared deeply for his children. He monitored their school progress and involved them in many sporting events. Rodney's greatest legacy is his love for his family and their welfare. Life was a voyage and an adventure for Rodney; it was an experience he valued, and a challenge he felt eager to face. In later years, he faced a serious illness which consumed him. He is deeply loved by his family and he will be missed by so many. The family puts him in their hearts and minds and sends him on his way with all their love and memories. Kannegaard, Tikey Dolores Marilyn Tikey Dolores Marilyn Kannegaard Tikey Dolores Marilyn Kannegaard passed away on June 14, 2005 while exploring Alaska and northern Canada with her husband, Daniel. Tikey was born to Buck and Eva May Vroman on July 30, 1940 and grew up in the Wallace area. She married Daniel Clark Kannegaard on September 9, 1956 and traveled the world with her family while her husband was in the military. Tikey and Daniel lived in Roy, Utah since 1985. Her parents preceded her death and she is survived by her husband, Daniel, and their son and daughter-in-law, Daniel C. and Anne Kannegaard, Jr., and three grandchildren. For many years, Tikey worked as a waitress and chef in the food industry. Tikey was a devout Catholic, a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed traveling, had a fondness for bears and loved Alaska. She was born to Elmer Clark and Hazel Wright Hatton in Fillmore, Utah, one of 10 children. Opal lived most of her life in the Ogden area moving to Roy in 1998 when she married Glenn Lani. Opal is survived by her husband Glenn and daughter Marilyn (Robert) Shadbolt; seven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and her son Dennis Dixon. He loved skateboarding, listening to his music, and hanging with friends. He was loyal and had many friends. Jordan was born on September 3, 1997 in Ogden to Michael Evan Morse and Melanie Linda Pagano. Jordan was raised in Ogden, Sunset and Clearfield. He attended Doxey Elementary school. Jordan enjoyed playing video games, army games with his massive collection of water weaponary, swimming, wrestling and eating with his brother Nore. Jordan loved spending time with Daddy. He also enjoyed sleepovers at "Bamma's" house, watching TV and playing with his Timmy. Nore also taught Jordan how to ride a bike. He will be deeply missed. He is survived by his parents: Michael Morse, Melanie Pagano, and Tim Bywater. Two brothers: Nore Dusk Morse, and Tannyr Morse, and one sister Jessica Bywater. Munford OGDEN - Ann Munford, 72, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2005 to join her beloved Lloyd, who left this earth on January 28, 2004. She was born December 13, 1932 in Cumberland, Ohio, a daughter of Oscar Lyle and Clara Belle Yerian Moore. She graduated from Cumberland High School and later served with the Women's U.S. Army Corp during the Korean Conflict. Ann married Lloyd Munford on February 8, 1953 in Denver, Colorado. They had five children: Mike and Carol Munford, Ogden; Lyle and Tracy Munford, Ogden; Melanie Munford, Ogden; Maryanne and David Strain, Clearfield; Glenna and Bob Bachman, Moro, IL. She is survived by 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She and her husband had lived in the Ogden area for over 30 years. They also resided in Cedar City, Utah and Henderson, Nevada. Ann retired from Morton International in 1996 and the Internal Revenue Service in 2003. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a brother and sister-in-law, and one nephew. He was preceded in death by parents, sisters Frances Maes, Laura Lovato; brother Floyd Rivera and granddaughter Kelly Rivera. Sowerby CLEARFIELD - Eunice E. Sowerby passed away July 11, 2005 at Rocky Mountain Care Center in Clearfield. She was born October 7, 1908 in Mormon, North Dakota to William Clarance and Isabella Brooks. She was reared and educated in Ogden. She married Thomas Henry Sowerby in Wyoming he passed away in 1977. She was a member of the LDS Church. She worked as a librarian for many years and also served as the Relief Socierty President. She is survived by one son, Thomas R. (Llryne) Sowerby of Roy, two daughters, Dolores Oliver of Price, and JoAnne (Kent) Oyler of Ogden, 18 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, one brother, two sisters, and one grandchild. Tesch, Elaine OGDEN - Edna Maybury Thomas, 88, died Sunday, July 10, 2005 in Ogden, of causes incident to age. She was born November 8, 1916 in Woodhouse Mill, Sheffield, England, a daughter of Charles Abram and Alice Ann Gratton Maybury. During World War II she worked at a factory that manufactured parts for the Spitfire Airplane. On January 5, 1946, Edna married William Thomas in Sheffield, England. She lived in England for 33 years then immigrated to the United States with her husband and daughter. They lived in Ogden where they raised their five children. Edna was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and resided in the 5th Ward where she served in Relief Society. Later she was a member of the Memorial Park Ward. She was also very supportive of her husband and attended the First United Methodist Church with him. She worked many jobs from her home to help raise her family. Edna and Bill returned several times to their beloved country of England. She ha d a great love of poetry. She could still remember poems she learned as a young girl and also wrote many poems of her own. Our mother was the most giving and loving woman to everyone she met. Surviving are two sons and three daughters, Russell C. (Jeanann) Thomas, South Weber; Glenn W. (Faith, deceased) Thomas, Las Vegas, NV; Collette Murdock, and Roselie Moesinger, both of Salt Lake City; Elaine (Robert) Tesch, South Weber; 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Albert Maybury and James Maybury, both of Ogden. Preceding her in death were her husband, one sister, Gladys Smith and one grandson, Matthew Thomas.
