James was born June 28, 1955 in Anchorage, Alaska to John and Audrey (Wherry) Bensal. James was loved and respected by his family and friends. All who knew him admired his sense of responsibility and dedication at work and loyalty to his friends. Jim loved good Jazz music, out door recreation, and traveling around the world for his work. He was employed as a radar technician for Hill Air Force Base. Della was born on November 11, 1918 a daughter to Leon & Rosetta Gilbert in Yost, Utah. Della was married on July 31, 1937 to Simeon Dale Carter, they were later sealed in the Logan Temple on June 27, 1955. She was a member of the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints. She had many callings which included Relief Society and Sunday School Teacher. She was a waitress for many years and retired from Maddox at age 70 after 25 years. She is survived by Janet Walker, Leonard (Susan) Carter, Lynn (Joan) Carter, 17 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great grandchildren. Surviving brothers and sisters, Reva Roche, Arnold (Janet) Gilbert, Veron (Virginia) Gilbert, Glenna (Max) Grunig, and one sister-in-law, Charlene Gilbert. Crandall, John John Crandall October 24, 1945 - June 21, 2005 John Crandall passed away of natural causes June 21, 2005 in Seattle, Washington. He was 60. John was born October 24, 1945 in Ogden, Utah and he graduated with honors from St. Joseph High School in 1963. John had an ongoing quest to seek spirituality. On his quest, he found joy and God's grace in serving others. He volunteered at one of Seattle's oldest Lutheran Churches, helping to provide food and shelter for the homeless. He loved deep-sea fishing and surfing the internet. John is survived by his daughters, Kim and Kay Crandall. His parents, Corine and Willard Kelley; a brother, Gregory Kelley; four sisters, Peggy (Charlie) Chukwudolue, Kathleen McBride, Anette, (Leon) Foster, Diane Kelley, and a host of nieces and nephews. Eberhard February 1913 - July 2005 John F. Eberhard passed from this earthly existence on 14 July, 2005, surrounded by his family at the home of his daughter in South Jordan. He was born 21 February, 1913, to Herman and Berta Kraemer Eberhard in Whitney, Idaho, the fourth of six children, and moved with his family to Bothwell, Utah at six years of age, where they engaged in farming. He attended Bothwell Elementary and Bear River High Schools. John married Shirley Nielsen of Elwood, Utah, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on 25 Nov, 1936, and they resided in Bothwell for the next thirty-nine years while raising eight children and engaging in the farming and dairy industries. The couple retired in 1975 and then served the next two years in the LDS Church Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh Mission after which they took up residence in Bountiful. Shirley died on 24 July, 1987. John remained in Bountiful while spending some winters in Florida and Arizona until November 2002 when he moved to O gden, remaining there until the past two months when he resided with a daughter in South Jordan. He was a faithful member of his church and active through temple work and many ward and stake callings. He was involved in various community activities throughout both Box Elder and Davis Counties that included drama; ballroom, round, and square dance instruction and exhibition; Foreign Student Exchange and American Field Service placement program; International Brotherhood and Experiment in International Living; 4-H Clubs, Boy Scouts, county fairs, and Farm Bureau; Retired Senior Volunteers, Travelers Aid Society; U.S. Weather Observer Volunteer; and the Southern Arizona Senior Olympics. He earned many awards and other recognition of participation in these organizations. John's supreme interest was meeting people, he never met a stranger. Hobbies he used to enable this interest were, traveling pen-paling with people from various walks of life including International and national political fi gures and beauty queens, and renowned entertainers; his self-styled "Golden Spike Award" program; growing fruits and vegetables that were never sold but given away; jewelry making; leather crafting; and authoring short stories, poems, and newspaper and magazine articles. Survivors are the eight children (and spouses) Donna Rae (Gerald) Thompson of Ogden; Arnold Gary (Margo) Eberhard and Becky (Bradley) Archibald of Tremonton; Arlene (Clarence) Howard of Hawthorne, California; Theron Reese (Norma) Eberhard of Bothwell; Janet (Tim) Holdstock of Centerville; Corlyss Wells of South Jordan; and Joel Craig (Carrie) Eberhard of Rose Canyon. Other descendants include 41 grandchildren (including two who are deceased); 49 great-grandchildren (including one deceased), and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Herman Eberhard, Jr, and sisters Mina Eggli Obray and Gertrude Eberhard. Evenson, Bonita June Bonita June Evenson, 83, passed away July 14, 2005 in Centerville, Utah. She was born June 22, 1922 in Lyons, Kansas the daughter of Floyd and Ella Michaelis Shumway. She married John Henry Evenson Jr. on June 5, 1942 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He later died May 14, 1970. Bonita has lived in Centerville for the past 54 years. Throughout her life she was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings including Primary president, Temple worker and Relief Society Secretary. She served a mission from 1976 to 1978 in New England. She was the world's best candy maker, and enjoyed genealogy work, canning and croquet work. Bonita loved to serve others and would volunteer at Lakeview Hospital. She is survived by one son: Michael (Ruth Ann) Evenson of Seattle Washington and one daughter: Kristine Evenson of Centerville, Utah, and Geniel Evenson daughter-in-law of Centerville, Utah, 16 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren , sister Pauline Jacobsen of Mesquite, Nevada; Twyla Mae Peters of Layton, Utah; and brother William Shumway of Layton, Utah. Oxborrow, Stanley Bryant NORTH OGDEN - Stanley Bryant Oxborrow, 69, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2005 at Flaming Gorge, a place he loved and near to home. He died of an apparent heart attack while surrounded by people he loved. Stan was born on July 30, 1935 in Caliente, NV to Joseph Bryant and Leah Oxborrow. He married Carol Sue Clements on April 18, 1958, they were later divorced. He married Barbara Louise Upp on April 24, 1992. He graduated from the University of Utah. He worked and retired from HAFB as a metallurgical engineer and later worked for Thiokol. Stan loved life and was willing to help anyone at any time. He was very generous with his time and knew the importance of helping others. He also loved to travel, play golf with his sons and enjoyed gardening, fishing and making stained glass with his wife Barbara. They were always together. His accomplishments were many, including raising four children. He is survived by his wife Barbara, his children Suzanne (Ni ck) Tovar, Sacramento, CA; Doug (Julie) Oxborrow, Roy; Melissa (Byron) Copeland, Brigham City; Jeffrey (Tonia) Oxborrow, Syracuse; Lisa Cassity, Lori (Brian) Bott, Leslie (Kevin) Farnsworth, Lance (Heidi) Perry all of North Ogden; two brothers, J. She was a lifelong resident of Ogden where she was employed as a clerical supervisor for the U. S. Forest Service. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Eagles Auxiliary. Richins, Suesann Wilde Suesann Wilde Richins HENEFER, UT - Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and loved one Suesann Wilde Richins, 63, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2005 surrounded by her family to whom she was so devoted. She was born January 23, 1942 in Coalville, UT to Fred Robinson Wilde and Ruth Smith Wilde. She was a member of the LDS Church. She married Dennis J. Richins on July 21, 1961 in the Salt Lake Temple. Suesann lived life to the fullest. She loved spending time in the outdoors; camping, fishing on the Bear River, horseback riding, hunting and four-wheeling. She was an excellent homemaker and mother. She was an accomplished artist, Some of her favorite pastimes were gardening, travel, and taking photographs. Her family brought her much happiness. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren. During her 63 years she touched many lives. Her courage in the face of adversity was an inspiration to all. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. Suesann is survived by her husband Dennis, Henefer; her children Natalie (Orrin), Evanston; Dallas (Sherie), Kaysville; Kory (Shelley), Henefer; Audrie (Todd), Henefer; Brandon (Brooke), Peoa. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, three sisters; Lynda, Kathryn, Stephanie, brother Kirk, and her mother-in-law Erma S. Richins. Saam, Joseph Harold Joseph Harold Saam "Joe", our beloved companion, father and grandfather was called home on July 13, 2005 after a long and valiant battle with prostate cancer. He was born February 21, 1922 in Scranton, Pennsylvania and raised in Binghamton, New York where he learned to love country music and play many instruments in the United States Army and fought in WWII on the central Pacific islands of Guadal Canal and New Georgia. He was a mortar gunner and received the American Defense Service Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and AR 600-68. While fighting in the jungles he contracted Malaria and spent a year in recovery. He was sent to Bushnell Hospital in Brigham City, Utah where he met a beautiful blue-eyed blonde singer named Blanche Critchlow. She had been in vaudeville and was now doing charity work entertaining our boys in the hospital. Her music touched his heart and the rest is history. They were married on August 28, 1944 and sang together in harmony for many y ears. Joe attended Weber College and worked at Browning Chevrolet doing auto body and painting. He later opened his own body shop, called Tip Top Auto Body and Painting, then worked at Ferguson Motors in Ogden, at E&M Ford in Layton, the Freeport Center in Clearfield and finally as an instructor at the Clearfield Job Corps where he retired after many years of service. He created lasting friendships with both students and coworkers at Job Corps. Joe lived in Layton for many years and went out of his way to feed and care for stray or hungry animals. He would always feed the llamas and horses across the street from the Autumn Glow Senior Center in Kaysville. His cat, Buster and Dog, Otis were constant companions and brought him much joy. He is survived by his lifetime companion Blanche, daughter Carolyn Saam Bennion, brother Bobbie Butler (WA), sister Joyce Marshman (PA), cousins Jean Marie Barton (PA)) and Donald Saam (NY), grandchildren Stephen Scott Bennion (CA), Mary Anne Bennion (CA) , Cathryn Louise Bennion (NY), Daniel Saam Bennion (CA) and Otis. OGDEN - Ida Katherine Todd Sanders, 82, died Thursday, July 14, 2005 at McKay-Dee Hospital following complications from surgery. She was born June 20, 1923 in Salt Lake City, a daughter of Webster Kripps and Lillie Sifia Reeves Todd. On August 3, 1941, Ida married Denzel Erwin Sanders in Preston, Idaho. Denzel preceded her in death. She lived in Ogden for most of her life. Ida was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved her church activities. She enjoyed ceramics, dancing, gardening, puzzles and was a great cook. Ida was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Surviving are six children, Joy Coleman, Janice (Al) Sanders, Susan (Brent) Crook, Dennis Sanders, Douglas (Barbara) Sanders, Linda West; 32 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Ann was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she worked with special interest in the Lorin Farr Stake and worked in the Ogden Temple. She was an active member of the Clearfield 7th Ward and had various other church assignments throughout her life. She loved her roses, crafts and gardening. She is survived by her four children, David Smith, Scott (Karen) Smith, Craig (Jody) Smith and Diane Hudkins. Ann has one loving sister that she was very close to, Karen and two brothers, Ray (Lou) and Gary (Fran) Hadlock. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold F. Hadlock and Vendla Swenson. Bruce was born November 5, 1951 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Herb and Norma Stoddart. He graduated from West High School. He married Donnette Dillon on December 15, 1984 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Donnette was his "Loving, Harley Riding Partner" for over 20 years. Bruce loved his girls more than life itself. His greatest joy was to watch their sporting events. He worked for the railroad for 34 years. Bruce is survived by his sweetheart, Donnette; daughters, Molly Mae, Michelle Abby and Mandy (Darren) Powell; parents, Herb and Norma Stoddart; brothers, Lynn (Lorraine), Glen (Margaret) and Kent (Valari), and grandchild, Connelly. We love and miss you, Mom, Dad, and family Published in the Standard-Examiner on 7/17/2005. Yeates, Carlos Carlos Alma Yeates Carlos Alma Yeates, 85, died July 14, 2005. He was born June 21, 1920, the eldest son of Alma and Grace King Yeates. He married Venna LaVoy Michaelis September 7, 1943 in the Logan Temple. They were later divorced. He married LaVerne Cloward Tegan in Lakewood, Colorado, February 14, 2975 and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. He was a member of the LDS Church, Morningside 7th Ward. Carlos served a mission to the Southern States from 1939-1941. His church service has been varied and included serving as the Bishop of the Logan 3rd Ward, the Denver 6th Ward and the Uintah 5th Ward and on the High Council of the Weber Stake. He and his wife were called as Temple Missionaries to assist in the opening of the new Denver Temple. He served in World War II, and attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Army Signal Corps. He attended primary and secondary schools in Cache County and graduated fro Utah State University. He also did post graduate work at Northwe stern University of Virginia and the Harvard Business School. His business career was with Mountain Bell Telephone Company. Assignments were in Logan, Salt Lake, Kaysville, Provo, and Ogden, then to Corporate Headquarters in Denver, Colorado. He retired as Corporate Assistant Vice President in 1980 after 34 years of service.Surviving are his wife LaVerne Cloward Yeates and following children; Ballard King Yeates of Overland Park, KS., Richard Alan Yeates of Falls church, VA., Anne Louise Yeates Cassidy of Glendale, CA., and Janet Yeates Lutterman (Byron E deceased) of West Valley City, UT., George Earl Tegan of Lakewood, CO., Ann Tegan Marshall of Lakewood, CO., Karla Tegan Scott of Aurora, CO., and Jan Alice Tegan Bracha (Richard Lee) of Oklahoma City, OK. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Nibley 2nd Ward, 360 West 3200 South, Nibley UT. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 19, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Millville-Nibley Cemetery in Cache County, Utah. Surrounded by family and friends, he departed from this life and stepped into the arms of Jesus Christ. He is survived by his parents Brian and Miriah Yocum, sister Alexis, grandparents, aunts, and uncles. We love you Kenneth and look forward to being reunited with you.
