Betty W. Beal Betty passed away July 20, 2005 in her home in Ogden. Betty was born Dec 3, 1928 in Idaho to Orval and Georgia Winkler. She is survived by her son John Beal of Ogden. Ferguson, Ruth Mae Collins Ruth Mae Collins Ferguson, our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away in peace on the morning of July 22, 2005. She was born February 13, 1915 in Milledgeville, GA. She married Samuel Gordon Ferguson May 19, 1933. She was a lifelong faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and it was often said that she had a hotline to Heaven. She came to Salt Lake City in 1954 and raised her children through much sacrifice and hard work. She returned to Milledgeville in 1970 where she and Gordon owned a retail store. She moved to Odgen, Utah in 1989 where she remained until her passing. Ruth was an industrious person, having learned the value of hard work and thrift on the farm early in life. She supported and sustained many besides just her family. She used to say that it is better to wear it out than to rust it out. She was also a fountain of wisdom and common sense. She will be remembered for her undying testimony and love o f the gospel. In her later years she served for 17 years as an ordinance worker in the Atlanta and Ogden temples. She loved serving in the House of the Lord and found great joy therein. The legacy of her faithfulness has blessed and will continue to bless generations after her. She is survived by 6 children-William C. (Beverly) of Blythwood, SC; Gordon L. Ferguson of Salt Lake City, Utah; Ora (John) Hurst of Ogden, Utah; Fred (Gayle) Ferguson of North Odgen Utah; Connie (Denny) Roberts of Kaysville, Utah; Patricia Miller of Wendover, UT; her step-daughter, Carolyn (Charles) Smith of Milledgeville, GA; 29 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren; two younger sisters, Jessie Blount and Carrie Pounds of GA. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her daughter-in-law, Carolyn Ferguson. A viewing will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2005 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, in West Jordan, Utah. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens-Baldwin County, GA next to her husband. She has always said to give her flowers while she was living so she could enjoy them. LaPlante, Dorothy Rae AVONDALE, Arizona - Dorothy Rae LaPlante, age 52, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2005 in Phoenix at the Banner Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born May 24, 1953, the daughter of Raymond and Marian LaPlante. Dorothy spent three years attending Weber State College. Dorothy married Ronald LaPlante on March 25, 1993 in Brigham City. Ronald served in the U.S. Air Force until retiring. She belonged to the Y.W.C.A. Ogden, the L.A.M.P.S. group, and the P.T.O. She lived in Utah, Oklahoma, Spain, Florida, and finally Arizona. Dorothy is survived by her husband Ronald LaPlante Jr., her children Eric, Regina, and Michael LaPlante. She is also survived by her father Raymond Lopez, her mother Marian, and her brothers Perry and Ronald Lopez. OGDEN - After a wonderful journey here on earth, I was called home to live with my Heavenly Father Thursday, July 21, 2005. My mission began Friday June 23, 1920 in Malad, Idaho. I was the third child of Basel Alexander Toponce and Janey Fanny Fisher. I attended Weber State College and graduated from Malad High School where I participated in sports, basketball, track and high jump. I married my sweetheart Clifton Blaine Larson in Salt Lake LDS Temple on August 29, 1939. We shared 55 wonderful years together and were blessed with five children: Kaylene, Dean, Trudy, Terry and Ila Jean. We served a United States A.I.D. assignment at Haile Sellasie I University in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia , where I assisted in setting up a library for the blind. We served together in the Ogden LDS Temple, and a mission at the Johannesburg, South Africa Temple. We traveled extensively around the world. On October 21, 1994, I lost my sweetheart Clifton. I had the opportunity to serve as Preside nt: Weber College Faculty Women; Patio Springs Ladies Association; Child Culture Club; Weber South Company Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, at the time we placed a monument for Malan's Peak on the Ogden East Stake grounds, and Captain of Camp Wasatch. In 1997 I was honored to be Utah Centennial Ogden Pioneer Days Queen. I served in two LDS Stake Primary Presidencies, Farr West and Ogden East, and wife of a Bishop, and many other church callings. I was preceded in death by my husband, one brother Emmett Toponce, and two great-grandchildren. I am survived by five children: Kaylene Lott (Val); Dean Larson (Pat); Trudy Firestack (Tom); Terry Thiel; Ila Jean (Jeanie ) Hansen (Clay); eighteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren; one brother Ivan R. Toponce; my dog Skeeter, a loving companion. A special thanks to my family and friends for their love and care. In my last days, a special thanks to Jeanette Kubricky and Vista Care. Pacheco, Paul Anthony Paul Anthony Pacheco 02-13-63 to 07-21-05 LAYTON - Paul Anthony Pacheco 42 passed away Thursday July 21, 2005. He was born in Ogden, UT to Bernell Pacheco and Mary Garcia, they later divorced and he was raised by Raul Cabrera. He married Brenda Killian in 1981 they had two kids, Randy Ann and Paul Anthony II, and later divorced. Paul lived in Utah his entire life and graduated from Layton High. He enjoyed being around his family and always helped anyone who was in need, he would give the shirt off his back. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, working, on Sunday's while watching NASCAR drinking Natural Lite and Rock 'n Roll. Paul appreciated life and lived it to the fullest. He is survived by his two kids, six brothers and two sisters: Rudy (Dottie) Pacheco, Layton; Pete L. (Darla) Pacheco, Layton; Ramona Cabrera, CA; Jesus Pancho Cabrera, Layton; Sandy Cabrera Thompson, WA; Raul Marty Cabrera, Layton; Randy (Natalie) Cabrera, Roy, one half sister Natalie Pacheco, Ogden; half brother John Pacheco, CA. He was born to Robert L. and Florence Willson Stickler in Lander Wyoming. He married the "Love of His Life" Karen Morford on September 26, 1958 in Fort Worth, Texas. They were later divorced. He married Nancy Collins on July 16, 1966. They were later divorced. Tom was preceded in death by his father and his "special" Great Grandma Wilson. He is survived by seven children; Charles Thomas, Kevin Roy (Stacey), Keith Leray (Debbie), David Robert (Diane), Kelly Sue Parkinson, Linda L. Stickler and Brady Stickler (Jennifer). Also surviving are twelve grandchildren : Julia, Maygan, Brandi, Amber, Jodi, Alicia, Jennifer, Tabitha, Austin, Kaitlyn, Colton, Josh and two great-granddaughters: Hannah Marie and Rylee Ann. Tom was a professional truck driver for several years. He drove coast to coast many, many times. Driving was in his blood. It was his livelihood and his life. He truly loved th e "Big Rig" Tom is now loaded and driving to his final destination in the sky. Winchester, Marie Bybee SOUTH OGDEN - Marie Bybee Winchester, 74, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2005, at McKay-Dee Hospital. She was born May 1, 1931, in Downey, Idaho, to Glen Fredrick and Ila Rozella Rasmussen Bybee, where she was reared and educated. On June 2, 1950, Marie married Keith Duane Winchester, in Lewisville, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on June 1, 1951. She lived in Idaho Falls and Lewisville, Idaho before moving to Harrisville, Utah, where she lived for 38 years before moving to South Ogden. Marie was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served as a Mutual teacher and chorister. She was also a member of the Modratones singing group for many years. She enjoyed shopping, singing and decorating. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Despite a lifetime of ill health, she always took time to make others feel loved and appreciated. She was truly a friend to all. Marie is survived by her husband, Duane, South Ogden; three sons, Brad Duane Winchester, Alexandria, VA; Kelly Lane (Janine) Winchester, Loveland, CO; Paul Dean (Sandra) Winchester, Star, ID; and a daughter, Luann (Kendell) Kennington, Salt Lake City, UT; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Dennis Bybee, Albuquerque, NM.
