She was born July 26, 1927 in Garland, Utah, to Rendall K. and Roselin Draper. She was raised in Garland, and for a short time, Moroni, Utah. She graduated from Bear River High School and remained close to her high school friends throughout her life. La Dean married Udell "Bud" Hodge on April 10, 1948, in Garland, Utah. They moved to Ogden in 1951. She was proud to have worked for Mountain Bell Telephone Company as an operator and retired after 33 years of service. LaDean was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved to paint and travel. She spent many years camping with her husband and family and they had many good times together. In her later years she took up oil painting and painted many beautiful pictures for her family. LaDean was a very lo ving and giving person who loved to be with people. She loved her husband, daughter and grandchildren and loved being around her great-grandsons, Zachary and Jacob. She is survived by her daughter, Coralee (Karl) McCleary, Roy; two granddaughters, Melissa (Scott) Barton and Kristin (Korey) Searcy, all of Roy; a brother, Earliss (Bud) Draper, Roy; two sisters, Nedra Covey, South Ogden; Sherrel (Dave) Webber, South Ogden; and many nieces and nephews. LaDean was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bud, a granddaughter Amy and a sister, Connie. Mom, you will be missed very much and we look forward to the day when we will all be together again. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 27th at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. The family will meet friends from 9 to 10:45 a.m., preceding the funeral. Pacheco, Paul Anthony Paul Anthony Pacheco 02-13-63 to 07-21-05 LAYTON - Paul Anthony Pacheco 42 passed away Thursday July 21, 2005. He was born in Ogden, UT to Bernell Pacheco and Mary Garcia, they later divorced and he was raised by Raul Cabrera. He married Brenda Killian in 1981 they had two kids, Randy Ann and Paul Anthony II, and later divorced. Paul lived in Utah his entire life and graduated from Layton High. He enjoyed being around his family and always helped anyone who was in need, he would give the shirt off his back. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, working, on Sunday's while watching NASCAR drinking Natural Lite and Rock 'n Roll. Paul appreciated life and lived it to the fullest. He is survived by his two kids, six brothers and two sisters: Rudy (Dottie) Pacheco, Layton; Pete L. (Darla) Pacheco, Layton; Ramona Cabrera, CA; Jesus Pancho Cabrera, Layton; Sandy Cabrera Thompson, WA; Raul Marty Cabrera, Layton; Randy (Natalie) Cabrera, Roy, one half sister Natalie Pacheco, Ogden; half brother John Pacheco, CA. Thirty -three nieces and nephews, eight great-nieces and nephews, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Paul is preceded in death by his mom Mary Guadalupe Cabrera, 1 brother Andy Pacheco, 1 niece Destiny and his Grandma and Grandpa Brigido and Martha Garcia. BRIGHAM CITY - Irene M. Pebley, 93, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2005 at her home. Irene was born on February 23, 1912 in Shadake, OK a daughter of Clifton N. and Leota P. VanDusen. She married Ted O. Pebley in April 1928 in Fort Collins, CO. He died on June 18, 1989. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ted O, four sons, Edward, Tim, Jerry, Dennis Pebley, two sisters, and four brothers. Shinkle, Norman Keith CORINNE - Norman Keith Shinkle, 81, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2005 at home in Corinne with his family. He was born in Kelly, Wyoming on August 15, 1923 to Mable Woodward and Ray M. Shinkle. He married Ellen Preal Cheney on July 10, 1945 in Jackson, Wyoming. Norman served in the Army during WWII. He loved camping, hunting and fishing and the outdoors. His greatest love was his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of the Corinne Lions Club. Surviving are his wife of Corinne, Preal Shinkle, five children, Kenneth (Pat) Shinkle of Corinne, Joseph (Julie) Shinkle of Corinne, Carol (Kirk) Webb of Spring Creek, NV, Linda (Lloyd) Brown of Sequim, WA, Gerald (Rita) Shinkle of Germany, 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, one brother, Vern Shinkle, and one sister, Joan Hatfield. Smith, Mary Elizabeth Kuntz Mary Elizabeth Kuntz Smith, age 61, died July 22, 2005 in Salt Lake City, UT. She was born January 14, 1944, in Cleveland, Ohio to George F. and Bertha Opal Hoskinson Kuntz. She married Donald J. Smith of Pomona, Calif. She worked for the Faith Baptist Academy as a preschool teacher. Survived by her husband of Fruit Heights, daughter Colleen, son Henry (Emily), six grand children and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be Thursday 11 a.m. at the Faith Baptist Church, 2430 No. Fairfield Road, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment will be in Sugarloaf, Calif. Winchester, Marie Bybee SOUTH OGDEN - Marie Bybee Winchester, 74, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2005, at McKay-Dee Hospital. She was born May 1, 1931, in Downey, Idaho, to Glen Fredrick and Ila Rozella Rasmussen Bybee, where she was reared and educated. On June 2, 1950, Marie married Keith Duane Winchester, in Lewisville, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on June 1, 1951. She lived in Idaho Falls and Lewisville, Idaho before moving to Harrisville, Utah, where she lived for 38 years before moving to South Ogden. Marie was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served as a Mutual teacher and chorister. She was also a member of the Modratones singing group for many years. She enjoyed shopping, singing and decorating. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Despite a lifetime of ill health, she always took time to make others feel loved and appreciated. She was truly a friend to all. Marie is survived by her husband, Duane, South Ogden; three sons, Brad Duane Winchester, Alexandria, VA; Kelly Lane (Janine) Winchester, Loveland, CO; Paul Dean (Sandra) Winchester, Star, ID; and a daughter, Luann (Kendell) Kennington, Salt Lake City, UT; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Dennis Bybee, Albuquerque, NM. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 27th at 11 a.m. at the Pleasant Valley 4th Ward Chapel, 5640 South 850 East, South Ogden. Wood, Ronald Tanner Sergeant First Class Ronald Tanner Wood of the Utah Army National Guard was born in Provo, Utah on February 17, 1977. A member of the Bravo Battery 1st Battalion 148th Field Artillery in Brigham City, he was serving his country in Operation Iraqi Freedom. SFC Wood was riding in an armored vehicle that was hit by a roadside explosive device on July 16 in Kirkuk, Iraq, and SFC Wood was killed. In November, 1994, during his senior year at Cedar High School, SFC Ron Wood became a member of the Headquarters Battery 2nd Battalion 222nd Field Artillery in Cedar City. He was a member of the 222nd when they were activated near the beginning of Operation Iraqi Freedom, and shortly after his return from that activation he became a member of the l48th Field Artillery in Brigham City. The son of Ron and Jody Wood, current Canon City, Colorado residents, Ron is the oldest of five children. His younger siblings are: SPC Nathan Wood of the Utah Army National Guard, Lehi, Utah; Jul ie (Aaron) Langreder, Canon City, Colorado; Cody Wood, Canon City, Colorado; Johnny Wood, Canon City, Colorado. Ron is the uncle of Brody, Alandra, and Wayne Langreder, and the grandson of Ann Like and the deceased Jim Like, all of Canon City, Colorado. He is also the grandson of the deceased Dwane and Luise Wood of Las Vegas, Nevada. Ron Wood also has uncles, aunts, and cousins in Utah, Colorado, and Nevada. Ron liked to laugh and enjoy life. He enjoyed reading books, listening to music, bodybuilding, weight lifting, and running. Ron was always concerned about everyone else's needs, and wanted to make sure that his family was happy. He was proud to be a U. S. Army soldier, and he was dedicated and loyal to his fellow soldiers until the end of his life. SFC Ronald Tanner Wood was a true blue national hero, and he will be sorely missed by his family, friends, and fellow soldiers. Funeral Services will be held at the Cedar High School Auditorium, Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at 12 noon. Family a nd friends may come to visit Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5:00 p.m and Monday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Family will be present Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. All viewings will be located at the Southern Utah Mortuary at 190 N. 300 W.
