Reva A. Barrow Together Again UINTAH - Reva Argen Penrod Barrow, 87, died Sunday, May 29, 2005 at Ogden Regional Medical Center. She was born April 20, 1918 in Ogden, a daughter of George Marion and Sara Mariah Hodson Penrod. She was raised and educated in Ogden graduating from Weber County High School where she was Salutatorian. She also attended Weber College. Reva married Jesse Thomas Barrow on April 28, 1937 in Logan. Jesse preceded her in death on February 12, 1987. She lived on a railroad outfit car traveling between Oregon, California, Nevada and Utah until the early 1940's. She lived in Vallejo, California until 1947; Tracy, California until 1980; Campbellsville, Kentucky until 1980 and in Uintah until her death. Reva was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in various callings including Young Women's President, Relief Society President and wife to the Bishop. She worked with both the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts organizations. Reva's hobbies an d interests were art, stitchery, sewing, crafts, creative writing and poetry, bird watching and horticulture. Surviving are one daughter, Klee Barrow (Wayne) Marchant, one son, Donald J. (Carol) Barrow, eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Dale Penrod and Gary Penrod. She was preceded in death by one sister, Freda Penrod, four brothers, Ross, Marion, Joseph and Marlin Penrod, and a grandson, Ross Barrow. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., with Bishop Glen Biddulph officiating. Chavez, Juan Andres Juan Andres Chavez1910 - 2005 LAYTON - Juan Andres Chavez, 95, passed away Monday, May 30, 2005 at home surrounded by his loving family of natural causes. Juan was born March 6, 1910 in Carracas, Colorado to Manuel and Antonia Chavez, where he helped operate the family farm. As a teen he also worked for the railroad, his income was brought home to help his parents. During this time he also worked in the building of the Sacred Heart Church in Durango, Colorado, made of stone. It's still in use today. He left home at age 20 to make his own life. During the next few years he traveled throughout the country working in various jobs. With prior service in the U.S. Army he was again called back to service in 1941. After extensive training he participated in combat during WWII in the Mediterranean Theater, North Africa, Sicily, and Italy where he was awarded two Purple Hearts, Campaign Medals, two Bronze Stars for valor and his most prized Combat Infantry Badge (C.I.B.). He married Melita De luvina on February 25, 1946 in Durango, Colorado. They lived in Colorado, California, and here in Utah since 1951. Together they had five wonderful children; Carlos, Keller, TX; John (Valene), Layton, UT; Lewis (Melody), Nampa, ID; Ray, Clinton, UT; and Loretta (Neil), So. Weber, UT. He enjoyed his 16 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren, they were his pride and joy. Juan was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, and helped with church maintenance after retirement. Juan worked as a warehouseman at Hill Air Force Base until he retired. His hobbies and interests included lapidary, jewelry making, leatherworks, and he loved to fish and hunt with his sons. Preceded in death by; parents, three brothers, four sisters, three daughters-in-law, Linda, Holly and Kathy, grandson, Chad and great-granddaughter, Shaylynn. Dietrich, Rhonda K. Rhonda K. Dietrich RIVERDALE - Rhonda K. Dietrich, 59, died Monday, May 30, 2005 at Salt Lake Regional Hospital from complications of an automobile accident. She was born June 10, 1945 in Hollis, Oklahoma, a daughter of George R. and Redonda Maxine Martin Staton. Rhonda married Danny R. Olson in Hollis, Oklahoma. They were later divorced. On May 9, 1987, she married Neil A. Dietrich in Ogden. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Layton. She served as a Sunday School Teacher at Calvary Baptist Church and also loved to sing in the church choir. Rhonda enjoyed reading, cross stitching, sewing and making her own clothes. Surviving are her husband Neil, Riverdale; two sons and one step-daughter, Gregory D. (Stacy L.) Olson, Moore, OK; Brian K. (Amanda S.) Olson, Wilmington, NC; Alicia K. (Justin) Dietrich- Dahl, Springville, VA; and six grandchildren. Also surviving are her parents, one brother, Terry L. Ellertson PLAIN CITY - Cody Wells Ellertson, 21, died Tuesday, May 31, 2005, West of Rock Springs, Wyoming from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born November 28, 1983 in Logan, a son of Clyde Leslie and Phyllis Jarrett Ellertson. Cody lived most of his life in Plain City and was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Plain City 2nd Ward. He served a mission to the Dominican Republic Santiago Mission. He was working in the construction industry as an iron worker for C.K. Construction Company. Cody was a member of Fremont FFA and competed in many contests. He was also a member of VICA Automotive Team and loved to work on his truck, "Rusty". He enjoyed spending time with his many friends, especially his special friend, Ashley East. Surviving are his parents of Plain City; four brothers and one sister, Clyde Ellertson Jr., Plain City; Jesse (Heidi) Ellertson, Farr West; Michael Ellertson, Tyler Ellertson, and Deyette Ellertson , all of Plain City. Heiner, Thelma R. Thelma R. Heiner MORGAN - Thelma Rich Heiner died June 1, 2005 at the age of 87.She was born May 8, 1918 in Paris, Idaho to Milando Pratt Rich and Clara Elnora Kofoed. She graduated from Fielding High with the class of 1936. She loved to sing and participated in many school contests, graduations and church affairs. She married Dee Belliston; they were later divorced. On April 4, 1970 she Married Milo D. Heiner. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple. He died in 1987. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, and the great granddaughter of Apostle Charles C. Rich. She was a member of the Morgan 4th Ward and an endowment name extractor. She loved music and nature, especially her flowers. Surviving are her daughter, Deean Belliston Hicks and four grandsons of Layton. Also surviving are her sister Ora Bunderson of Montpelier Idaho and her brother, Dr. Owen S. Rich of Provo. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Blaine K. Rich. Kilgo, Jill Michele Jill Michele Bornstein KilgoJill Michele Bornstein Kilgo finished her valiant battle with cancer on Wednesday, June 1, 2005 and went home to Heavenly Father. Jill was born on September 27, 1947 to Helen and Bernard Bornstein in Long Island, New York. She was the oldest of three children. Jill moved with her family to Tampa, Florida in 1960 where she went to and graduated from Chamberlain High School. She met her soul mate and best friend George P. Kilgo III and they were married August 12, 1967. They had three children, Cheryl Diane, George Patrick IV and Erik Brian Kilgo. Jill and George opened their own business in Tampa and ran that for nine years when they sold it in 1986, and moved to Utah to be close to Jill's sister Gail. Jill was a very hard worker and at the time of her diagnosis she was an Assistant Store Manager with Travel America. Jill loved to travel with her husband and has been all over the United States, her favorite place was Yellowstone National Park. She loved spendi ng time with her five grandchildren and three children. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and grandma. We will miss her tremendously. Surviving Jill is her husband, George (Pat); daughter, Cheryl (Brent) Hart; son, George and Erik (Jen) Kilgo; sister, Gail (Roger) Yost; brother, Craig Bornstein; grandchildren, Brent Hart Jr., Olivia Hart, Vivian Hart, Khalib Kilgo and Sereniti Kilgo. Miller, Roger Todd Roger Todd Miller SOUTH OGDEN - Roger Todd Miller, 37, was called home by God on Wednesday, June 1, 2005 from a brain tumor. He was born January 19, 1968 in Ogden, Utah, the son of Jack and Gloria Miller. After graduation he followed in his fathers foot steps and joined the U.S. Navy. On December 12, 1986 Roger married the love of his life and his best friend Lisa M. Honneywell. Whether he was known as "Roger" or "Todd" we all knew him as a good man. "Roger" "Todd" was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. He is survived by his wife Lisa M. Miller; children, Jeremy, Calvin, DeLynda, Tyler, Kaila, Nathaniel and granddaughter Ayla, both parents, Jack and Gloria Miller, and his brother Bill Miller. He was born December 30, 1933 in Uvalde, Texas the son of Leonardo M. and Juanita Castillo Ortiz. Salomon served in the U.S. Air Force for eight years. He married Melba Ortiz, November 18, 1955 in Layton. He retired from HAFB in 1993. Solomon was a member of HAFB Officials Assoc., DAV, coach and official for the ASA (Amateur Softball Assoc). Salomon was a faithful member of the Valley View Stake, Layton 8th Ward. He served in many callings, High Priest, MIA Presidency and Athletic Director. Surviving are his wife, Melba M. Ortiz, children, Yolanda (Curtis), KayJean (Tom), Sheldon (Melissa), Leslie, Cindy, Wendy, Angela (Ron), foster children, Mark McDonald, Amy Ortiz, Kriston Asbury, 18 grandchildren and one great-grandson. She worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Tuba City, Arizona with Hopi and Navajo Indians; was a home demo agent for Mountain Fuel Supply in Salt Lake City and Ogden; and taught Home Economics at Davis High and Elementary Education in Davis County. She married Wallace B. Rampton on August 26, 1955; they have three daughters. She was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. She was loved by everyone and always tried to help others. Anderson Ransom ROY - Our loving wife, mother and grandmother, Clytie Elizabeth Anderson Ransom, 80, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at the The Residence Care Source in Murray, Utah. As a result of a stroke, she had been living at Country Pines in Clinton, Utah for the past three years, where all who cared for her loved her. She was born on November 5, 1924 in McGill, Nevada, a daughter of LaVere C. and Clytie Leota Robb Anderson. She was reared in Elwood and graduated from Bear River High School along with her husband in 1942. Clytie married William Irving Ransom on March 6, 1946 in Elwood, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on April 15, 1968. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in various callings. Clytie earned her nursing degree from the University of Utah in 1945. Her career included working in various hospitals, and working with physicians in obstetrics and surgery. She ended her career with Utah County Public Health as a school nurse administrator until she retired in 1992. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Altrusa Club and the Eagles. Clytie enjoyed painting, cleaning, reading, traveling and handiwork, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren. Clytie had a great sense of humor and was loved by all. Surviving is her husband, Irving of Roy; two daughters, Marti (Michael) Ransom-Andrew, Salt Lake City; Jill (Kit) Workman, West Point, three grandchildren, Candice (Niel) Ekberg, Lehi; Elder Kristopher Workman, Arizona Mesa Missions and Justin Workman; one brother, Neil C. Todd was born with a love of music, played the piano and had an amazing singing voice. He had a winning personality, loved children and had a tender heart. His daughter was the love of his life. Vaughan, Glen Edwin Glen Edwin Vaughan Born February 18, 1920 OGDEN - Our loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather went to his heavenly home on June 1, 2005 after a struggle with cancer. Glen was reared and educated in Malad, Idaho and attended Snow College. Glen was a Veteran of WWII who proudly served his county as a Gunnery Sergeant in the Marine Corps from 1940-46. He was a great athlete in his younger years and boasted that he was the oldest man to ever bowl a 300 at age of 76. He married, Mary Ekins, who passed away in 1963 and later married Larene Clark in 1967 and were sealed in the Ogden LDS Temple in 2001. Glen is survived by his wife, Larene Clark Vaughan, his three children Eric, Buzz and Donna, his 12 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Glen, we all love you very much and are grateful for the things you have taught us all. GEORGE, Utah - Arthur "Bud" Walker, 78, passed away on May 8, 2005 in St. George Utah. Bud was born January 19, 1927 in Owanka, South Dakota to Dewey and Anna Walker. He married Loretta Sutherland on November 20, 1955 in Nelson, BC. After marriage, they lived in Coeur d'Alene Idaho. In 1963 they moved to Utah where Bud was employed for 30 years at Hill Air Force Base until his retirement. For several years he also worked as a part-time car salesman at Jack's Auto Sales in Layton and Neil's Car Sales in Ogden. He loved his family dearly, especially his granddaughters Amanda and Sydney. He is survived by his wife Loretta, of St. George; a daughter Sheri of Layton; two sons, James (Carole) Walker of Atlanta, and Gary of Clearfield; granddaughters Amanda and Sydney of Clearfield.
