She was born November 7, 1970 to Charles and Evelyn Rickett. She married Bruce A. Cosens on May 28, 2004 in Ogden. She had lived in Billings, MT; Miles City, MT; and Glendive, MT. She is survived by her husband Bruce of Syracuse, UT; father, Charles Rickett, Glendive, MT; mother, Evelyn Barnaby, Wilbaux, MT; two daughters, Breeanna Barnaby, Wibaux, MT; Jaci Rickett-Peltzer, Kirkland, WA; one brother Josh Rickett, Belgrade, MT; and one sister Jami Roberts, Miles City, MT. Herbert, Fredrick LeVaun Fredrick LeVaun Herbert Fred was born October 2, 1947 in Ogden, Utah. He left this earth on June 21, 2005 after a battle with cancer at the age of 57. He married Karin Hardy and later divorced after 32 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired from working with the U.S. Government and was a great carpenter. He love the outdoors and being in the mountains. He was there to lend a helping hand for his friends and family. He touched the lives of many individuals and gave of his heart. Surviving is son, Ryan Herbert, daughter, Rajathi (Nate) Noel, brothers, Rod Herbert, and Lorin (Emily) Herbert, and sisters, Cathy (Robert) Nelson, and Mindy (Rod) Maughan. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister. Thanks Fred for being a part of our lives. You were an active member of A.A. and the Alano Club Valley Camp. You reached out to every recovering alcoholic even the suffering new comer. You gave your all, we learned a lot from you. You are a great loss. Ketcham, Kathleen Layton SOUTH OGDEN - Our loving wife, mother, sister, and daughter returned to her Heavenly Father June 21, 2005 at McKay-Dee Hospital after a valiant battle with a lengthy illness. She was born February 27, 1959 in Ogden, Utah to Roy and Janell Steed Layton. Kathy married her eternal sweetheart, Jeffrey J. Ketcham on March 11, 1978. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden Temple. They were blessed to have three beautiful children; Brady, Jennifer, and Tyler. Kathy graduated from Davis High School where she was a member of the Drill Team. Kathy's life was devoted to raising and loving her children. She also had many nieces and nephews she loved and adored. Kathy enjoyed scrap booking and various types of painting and cross-stitching. She loved using her creative and artistic touch. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as the Primary and Young Women's President and also held various callings in the Primary. She is survived by her husband, Jeff, her children; Brady (Lindsey) Ketcham, Riverdale, Tyler, South Ogden, and Jennifer (Rory) Borchert, Syracuse, her parents, Roy and Jenell Layton, one brother, Craig (Colette) Layton of Kaysville, one sister Debbie (C.T.) Normington of Layton, and her aunt Jeanne Layton (Kaysville). Kathy was preceded by her father-in-law, Cliff Ketcham. Kathy's heart was fuller than life and she will be greatly missed. She loved children and the joy they brought to her life. She will be remembered for her bubbly and contagious laugh. The family would like to thank Drs. Lewis, Nora Melissia Cox RIVERDALE - Nora Melissa Cox Lewis, 90, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at Manor Care, in Ogden due to incidents to age. Nora was born December 6, 1914 in Fairview, Utah, a daughter of Austin and Roseanna Johnson Cox. She married William Oscar Lewis on April 6, 1939 at the Old Mill in Ogden and later solemnized their marriage in the Ogden Temple. William died December 12, 1990. Nora was raised and educated in Fairview and has lived in the Ogden area since 1936. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Nora was a member of the Eagles Lodge. Her working career started as the caretaker at Rainbow Gardens; Reliable furniture for three years and here is where she met her husband; Ogden Poultry for 26 years; in the Motel industry for 12 years. She enjoyed working for the Holiday Inn, Comfort Inn and High Country Inn. She is survived by her in-laws, Judd (Nona) Forsgren, West Haven Dorothy King, N.Y. Also surviving is a n ephew, David (Velma) Wells, Layton; nieces Edith (Richard) Moules, Collingswood, N.J. and Julia Saunders, Ogden. Nora was preceded in death by her husband, parents, seven brothers and four sisters. Mohr, Grace Nielson OGDEN, UTAH - Grace Nielson Mohr, 83, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at her daughter's home. She was born on April 4, 1922 in Fountain Green, Utah to Ernest Eskel Joseph and Minerva Malinda Robertson Nielson. She married Don Homer in March of l941 and they had a daughter, Karen. They later divorced. She married Dr. Alzon J. Mohr on December 3, 1958. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple. Grace's mother died when she was two years old. She was raised by her aunt and uncle, John T. and Maria Charlotte Andersen in the Bear River Valley. She graduated from Bear River High School. Grace spent her life working with her husband in the medical practice and she enjoyed going to Bear Lake. Grace has lived the last 20 years in California. Surviving is her daughter Karen Waters; two stepdaughters, Shirleen Andrews and Sandra Elder; grandchildren: Brett, Sabrina, Valerie, Matthew, Kayla, Shauna, Kim, Julie, Sean, Scot, and Casey; and 37 great-gra ndchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers and sisters: Forest "Tex", Madge, Roger, Douglas, Frank, LaVon, Lorna, Verl, Etta, Robert, Bill and Ruby. Phillips, Mildred ROY - PHILLIPS, Mildred Frances (Millie), passed away after a valiant fight of cancer on June 22, 2005. She was born November 12, 1924 to George C. and Mabel L. Forristall in Sulphur Springs, AK. She married the love of her life, Newell L. Phillips on November 5, 1945, where the focus of her life was caring for her family. She is survived by her children, Marilyn Martin, Roseville, CA, John C. (Gayle) Phillips, Bountiful, UT, Gary (Dori) Phillips, Layton, UT and her very special friend, Tony Reyna, Clinton, UT. She is also survived by brothers, James Forristall and Earl (Jackie) Forristall, sisters Donna (John) Larson and Linda Kay (Toby) Burget, 16 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. Secrist, 62, of Boise returned to the loving arms of his Heavenly Father June 20, 2005. Our beloved husband, father, "Poppy," brother and friend fought a short battle with stomach cancer with the utmost optimism and courage. Glen was born on February 27, 1943 in Brigham City, Utah to Wayne and LaPriel Secrist. He grew up in Fielding, Utah. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Gulf States from 1962 to 1964. He married his high school sweetheart, Marilyn Estep, on August 14, 1964 in the LDS Logan Temple. They are the proud parents of four children, three sons and one daughter. Glen graduated from Utah State University with a degree in Range Management in 1969. Over his 39-year career, he worked with the USDA Soil Conservation Service, the Idaho Department of Agriculture, and the Bureau of Land Management, where he was employed at the time of his death. He was a member of many professional organizations and spent his career ad vocating balance and fairness in land management issues, treating everyone with respect and dignity. Glen was a devoted member of the LDS Church and held many leadership positions. He was an avid supporter of Boy Scouts of America and spent countless hours working with and mentoring the youth. He loved hunting, fishing, backpacking, gardening, horses and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a true example of Christ-like love and always looked for the best in people. Glen was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Marilyn; children, Nathan (Shari) Secrist of Aurora, CO, Jason (Kelli) Secrist of Smithfield, UT, Aaron (Brenda) Secrist of Kaysville, UT, Sarah (Jeff) Cartwright of Murray, UT; 14 grandchildren; one brother, Jerry (Tam) Secrist; four sisters, Linda (Keith) Sieber, Kathleen Goodliffe, Annette (Ken) Adams, Joan (Scott) Sandberg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 25, 2005 at the S. Maple Grove Rd. L.D. S. Chapel, located at 3700 S. Maple Grove Rd. She was born on October 9, 1924 in Ogden to Lay Fayette Stephens and Ella May Wright. She was raised in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School. She married Melvin Baker on May 12, 1942 and solemnized later in the Logan Temple 1943. They were later divorced. She then married Ben Vigil in 1961. Velma worked as a Nurses Aid in San Francisco and doing Laundry at the Ogden Railroad. She was an active member of the LDS Church. She enjoyed traveling and singing. She spent over 14 years in vocal training. She is survived by her children; Valerie A. Baker, Dantzel K. Gonzales, Margie F. Southworth, Dean M. Baker, and Susan L. Thorsted, and one sister, Lillian S. Lickey. Velma was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Curt, and her sister, Nedra Jessop. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 24, 2005 at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden.
