He was born February 18, 1927, in Hooper, Utah, to Harvey Belnap and Jennie Afton Skeen Cook. He was raised in Plain City, where he spent his entire life. He attended Weber High School. On June 30, 1948, Dee married LaRae Berrett in the Logan LDS Temple. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Dee was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Plain City 7th Ward, where he served in various callings. He was employed at DDO for 39 years before his retirement. When Plain City was first incorporated Dee served as a member of the town council for two consecutive terms. Dee was a lifetime member of the American Quarter Horse Association. He was also a member and President of the Wasatch Slopes Cutter Association, Vice-President of the Utah State Cutter Association, and was active in Quarter Horse Racing in Utah, Idaho, Wyoming and Nevada. He enjoyed playing basketball, baseball, softball and played in the All World Softball Tournament in 1951, 1952 and 1953. Dee always enjoyed attending and supporting every activity of his children and grandchildren. Dee is survived by his wife, LaRae; his children, Chris (Johnn) Engberson, Plain City; Scott (Marilyn) Cook, Plain City; Michael Cook, Seattle, Washington; seven grandchildren, Stacey (Chad) Christensen, Jeremy Engberson, Shane Engberson, Amy (Brad) Fillpot, Ashlee (Jake) Hannum, Casey Cook, serving a mission in Venezuela, and Aidan William Cook; a great-grandson, Kole Fillpot; and one brother, George (Charlene) Cook, Plain City and sister-in-law Dorothy Cook. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Lyman Cook and Bert Cook. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 17 at 11:00 a.m. at the Plain City Stake Center, 4630 West 2150 North. Every, Robert Lee LAYTON - Robert Lee Every, 72, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2005 at the U of U Medical Center. He was born March 28, 1932 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin to Arthur and Emma Raihl Every. Robert married Ruby Akelund on March 2, 1956 in Farmington. She preceded him in death on July 24, 1994. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Robert retired from HAFB as a supervisor in 1988. Surviving are two sons, Roger Curtis, Layton; Ronnie Curtis, Los Angeles, CA; one daughter, Roberta (Mark), Centerville; one grandchild, brother, William (Margie), Albuquerque, NM; and sister, Alice Every, Denver, CO. Keyes, Marjorie Beth Colt WEST HAVEN - Marjorie Beth Colt Keyes, 83, died Monday, March 14, 2005, at Peach Tree Assisted Living. She was born August 26, 1921, in Ogden, a daughter of Leland John and Ada Elizabeth Burton Colt. She was a member of the first graduating class from Ogden High School in 1939. On December 25, 1941, Marjorie married Henry J. Keyes, in Uintah, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on December 17, 1964. She held various positions in the LDS Church, including Primary, Mutual,Ward and Stake Homemaking leader. Marjorie and Henry served a mission at the Ogden Genealogical library. She was also an Ordinance worker in the Ogden LDS Temple. She enjoyed quilting, reading and crafts of all kinds. Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Penny (Calvin) Adams, Hooper; grandson, David (Valorie) Dodart, Ogden; and two great-grandsons, Joseph and Hayden Dodart, Ogden. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, and her sister, Dorothy T homas. Simpson, Brandon William Brandon William Simpson went back to his Heavenly Father's arms on March 13, 2005. He was born March 10, 2005 in Ogden, Utah, the son of Scott and Jodie Simpson. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Brandon was only here for a short time, but he endured courageously. We will see you soon. Margaret Mahany SOUTH OGDEN - Margaret Treasure, 99, passed away March 11, 2005, at Crestwood Care Center, surrounded by her family. She was born February 20, 1906, in Grand Junction, Colorado to John Groves and Minnie Caroline Lutz. She was the second of ten children. Margaret was raised on a farm near Fruita, Colorado and attended a little country school. She started cooking when she was twelve years old and eventually did most of the cooking for the large family. She married Ira Zina Mahany on May 13, 1923. They were the parents of five children. In 1942, the family moved to Ogden, Utah and later made South Ogden their permanent home. Margaret worked at L.R. Samuels as a seamstress for 19 years, even so she always found time for her vegetable garden, raspberries, and an abundance of flowers. She loved to cook and bake and could always fix a wonderful meal if someone dropped in. Her husband Ira died in 1950. She later married Earl Sale who died in 1960. She married aga in to James Treasure and he died in 1970. Margaret had such a kind and generous heart. She loved to host Christmas parties, working on hand made gifts from one Christmas to the next for more than eighty people. She was baptized at the age of 95 as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She attended sacrament and Relief Society as long as she was able. Surviving are three daughters and one son. Louise (Ralph) Bearce, Ogden, Irene (Robert) Gardiner, South Ogden, Jean Malan, Ogden, Harold (Carlene) Mahany, South Weber. She has 18 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great-grandchildren, making 23 five generations. Also surviving are two sisters, Tressa Tredway, Oregon and Nita Baysinger, Colorado. Margaret was preceded in death by a little daughter, Roberta, her parents, two brothers and five sisters. The family wishes to thank the wonderful caregivers at Crestwood Care Center and IHC Hospice, Kathy and Julie for the loving care they have given our mother for over a year. Watters, Keith Keith O'Dell Watters Together Again BRIGHAM CITY - Keith O'Dell Watters, 79, passed away Friday, March 11, 2005 at his home in Brigham City, Utah. He was born September 8, 1925 in Richfield, Utah the son of LeRoy and Martha Isabell Bradshaw Watters. Keith married LaDonna Lund on July 2, 1947 in Paragonah, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized on December 9, 1949 in the St. George Temple. Keith was employed as an electrician at Thiokol for 27 years and retired in 1988. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends. He was an avid RV'er, and loved his trips to Death Valley and Arizona. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed many callings in the church including being a member of two bishoprics. Surviving are his daughter; Ladell (Boyd) Jensen, Brigham City; two sons; Kerry (Linda) Watters, St. George; Randall (Chris) Watters, Brigham City; daughter in-law, Diane Watters, Brigham City; four brothers; Fay, Miles, Carlos, and R obert Watters. Five sisters; Lillie MacKay, Elaine Vanzile, JoAnn Jones, Mary Taylor, Martha Davis. Keith has 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, LaDonna, on May 27, 2000. His son Steven Keith on Feb. 15, 2005. Two brothers; George Howard and Deloy Watters, one sister, Della Vee Watters. The family would like to thank Alpine Home Care and Hospice for their wonderful assistance during Keith's last months. Webb Together Again ROY - Our loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, left this earth March 14, 2005 to join his beautiful wife. Arthur J. Webb, 81, passed away from cancer. He was born June 5, 1923 in North Platte, Nebraska, the son of Arthur J. and Melvina D. Webb. He was raised in Evanston, Wyoming and graduated from Evanston High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. On September 19, 1945, following his tour of duty, he married Violet Louise Wood in Richmond, Virginia. They shared 54 years of marriage. She passed away May 23, 2000. Dad was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad for over 40 years. He was a devoted husband and cared lovingly for Mom when she was ill. He was a member of the Roy Christian Church. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed many years of hunting, fishing and camping. He was able to travel in all 50 of the United States. During his later years, he enjoyed his walks through his neighborhood in Roy. He wa s a quiet, wonderful man filled with honesty and integrity and was an example to all who knew him. He is survived by his five daughters and their husbands, Lola (Al) Kolasch, Meridian, ID; Mary (Frank) Mark, Ogden; Virginia (Steve) Higley, South Ogden; Rose (Bob) Giboney, Ogden; Esther (Craig) Rasmussen, Roy; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Violet, and his sister Beverley Jones. We love you and will miss you Dad.
