Ericksen On Sunday March 13 at age 90 Marian Ericksen took us by surprise by leaving this mortal life before her beloved husband Mike, age 97. Together in life for 72 years, he sat tearfully holding her hand through the transition. They are a classic example of love to the end and fortunately we know they will be reunited again. Marian Leishman Ericksen was born Nov. 8, 1914 to Robert and Elizabeth Bradshaw Leishman. Marian was from Wellsville, Mike was from Beaver Dam and after they married, the majority of their lives were spent in Beaver Dam. For the last eight years they have called Country Pines Retirement Community in Clinton their home. Everywhere they have lived they have developed deep friendships. Marian is noted for her great homemaking skills. She was a fantastic cook including homemade chocolates, a great seamstress, famous for her crocheted baby dresses and the model home decorator. She has always had a great love for people and was the ultimate optimist. She was so very appreciative of the simple things in life. She served in most church positions from young women and primary to relief society but one of her favorite times in life was working with the brides in the Logan LDS temple. Remaining behind are her husband Michael Durfey Ericksen and four living children. Their first born son Robert died in infancy. Others include Dr. Corey Ericksen (Liz) of Layton, Tonia (Pete) Christiansen of Bear Lake, Karen (Lee) Johnson of Logan and Christie Ericksen of West Haven. They have 19 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters and two brothers. Marian brightened the lives of all she met with her charm, optimism, and her notable love of people and life. A special thanks to Hospice Alliance and especially Angie and Pattie. Also thanks to a tremendous and loving Country Pines Retirement staff for all their wonderful support and for providing a special home for the past few years. We will miss our Marian very much, but we rest assured knowing that families are forever.
