Bingham, Avon T.
ROY - Avon Tubbs Bingham, returned to her Father in Heaven and her beloved
husband on Saturday, March 19, 2005. Avon was born October 3, 1922 in Ogden,
the daughter of Thurman H. and Johanna "Annie" VanDyke Tubbs. She married the
love of her life, David L. Bingham, on October 21, 1942 in the Salt Lake LDS
Temple. He passed away July 24, 1988. Avon was a very active member of The
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in the
Primary, Junior Sunday School and Relief Society. She also sang in various
church choirs. Surviving are two daughters and one son, Coleen Combe, Twin
Falls, ID; Marlene Kennedy, Roy; David (Shonna) Bingham, Elwood, UT; 17
grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brothers, Roy
(Marilyn) Tubbs and Richard (Ireta) Tubbs, both of Bloomington, UT; Ron (Lynn)
Tubbs, Clinton; and two sisters-in-law, Leah Tubbs, Roy; Doris Tubbs,
Slaterville. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two bro thers,
Thurman "Tubby" and Durlin, sister, Betty Sevy, son-in-law, Ken Kennedy,
grandsons, Joseph Kennedy, Steven Kennedy, Mathiew Bingham, granddaughter,
Annie Pearl Bingham, and great-grandson, Tevin Kennedy. The family would like
to thank IHC Hospice for all of their love and support. Funeral services will
be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Bunn, Blanch Marie Piper
OGDEN - Blanch Marie Piper Bunn, 97, passed away peacefully, Monday, March 21,
2005. She was born December 7, 1907 in Ogden, to George Piper and Anna Marie
Pignon Piper. She lived in Ogden, Nevada, Idaho, California, Oregon and
Washington. She married Eugene E. Bunn on July 21, 1927, in Rupert, Idaho.
They were the parents of three daughters and two sons, Marjorie, Varian
Worwood, Idaho; Maxine Ekker, Vancouver, WA; George, Glenda Bunn, Ogden;
Walter, JoAnne Bunn, North Ogden; Rose Marie, Glen Wylie, Roy. Blanch was a
member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She and Eugene were
sealed in the Ogden Temple. She faithfully held several positions in both the
Relief Society and Primary. She enjoyed traveling, reading, music, crocheting,
parades, fireworks and the circus. She is survived by her children, 19
grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great-grandchildren, one
brother, Lester Piper, Burley, Idaho. She was preceded in deat h by her
husband and three brothers, George, Roger and Clinton Piper, three sisters,
Eula, Florence Dogget, Elizabeth Kreller, several grandchildren and a
son-in-law Gerald Ekker. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Wasatch
Care Center. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at 11:00
a.m. at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden. Viewing will be held one
hour prior to the services at the Mortuary. Interment at Leavitt's Aultorest

Chugg, Lorna K.
OGDEN - Lorna Karen Donnellon Chugg, 70, passed away in her sleep on Saturday,
March 19, 2005, at the Harrison Regent Retirement Residence. On December 1,
1934, Ernest and Wilma Anderson Donnellon welcomed her into the world. Born in
Ogden, Utah she had lived in Evanston, Wyoming; Grace, Idaho; Logan: Ephraim:
Eugene, Oregon; and Rexburg, Idaho. She graduated from Ogden High School and
Utah State University where she majored in Foods and Nutrition. On June 15,
1955 she married M. David Chugg in the Logan LDS Temple. Lorna was an active
member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she taught
Mutual and Sunday School and served as an organist and Blazer Scout Leader.
She was a leader in both 4-H and the Girl Scouts. She was a member of the
Daughters of Utah Pioneers, the Cantabile Singers and enjoyed music and
theater. Lorna is survived by her husband; her children, David D. (Julee),
Pleasant Grove; Darrell C. (Jeanine) Hinesville, GA; Darren M. (Ste phanie),
Boise, ID; Nancy K. (Russell) Rolfe, Sammamish, WA; Carolyn (Alan) Trowbridge,
West Valley, UT; Dana (John) Sullivan, Boise, ID; and 22 grandchildren. She
was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son, Donald Chugg. Funeral
services will be held Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary,
3408 Washington Blvd. Friends and family may call at the mortuary on Friday
from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m. Interment, Ogden City

Graham, Pete J.
Pete J. Graham, age 92, died of natural causes with his daughter at his side
in Ogden, Utah on Monday, March 21, 2005. He was born in Missouri on August
19, 1912; the same year, he loved to point out, that the Titanic sank. The
youngest son of five children born to the late Fred and Sarah Reed Graham, he
married the late Pearl A. Turnbeau in 1934. He retired in 1977 from a career
as a warehouseman in the Teamster's Union. In 1972, Pete married the late
Agnes Speakman in New Madrid, Missouri. He was a lifetime member of the
Fraternal Order of Eagles, and an honorary member of the American Legion.
After his wife's passing, he moved to Ogden, Utah with his daughter, Sue,
where he lived out the rest of his life. He was a down-to-earth man who
enjoyed simple things; he loved gadgets, jokes, and good conversation. He will
be remembered fondly and deeply missed. Pete is preceded in death by his first
wife, Pearl, their daughter, Patricia Fay Graham, a grandson, Patrick Allan Gr
aham, and his second wife, Agnes. He is survived by his children: Tom and wife
June Graham, of Salem, MO, Sue Shrum-Hiatt and husband Allan Hiatt of Ogden,
UT, Keith and wife Pat Graham of Fredericktown, MO, and Dan and wife Brandy
Speakman of New Braunsfel, TX. Pete leaves behind seven grandchildren, seven
great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, to whom he was known
as "Poppity". Funeral services for Pete Graham will be held at 2:00 p.m.,
Saturday, March 26, at Wilson Funeral , 101 N. Mine La Motte St.,
Fredericktown, Missouri. His family would like to thank the staff of Infinia
Healthcare of Ogden for their care and support.

Hadley, Renell
ReNell Hadley Our Angel Wife, Mother and Grandmother ReNell passed away on
Sunday March 20, 2005 at 6:50 p.m. at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center
after a long courageous battle with breast cancer and other complications.
ReNell was born to Reynold and Eliza Robinson on November 30, 1937 in Afton
(Star Valley) Wyoming where she spent her growing up years bucking hay,
driving the tractor and feeding the livestock on her parents cattle ranch in
Freedom, Wyoming . She graduated from Star Valley High School where she was a
cheerleader and Rodeo Queen and then moved to Provo, Utah to attend Brigham
Young University where she was involved in many student activities. ReNell
graduated from BYU in 1957 in Elementary Education and accepted her first
teaching assignment in Tarzana, CA. It was here that she met Ron Hadley who
had also graduated from BYU and was working there with Qantas Airways,
Australia's overseas airline. They met at the Hollywood and Wilshire LDS wards
and later court ed cross country after ReNell had accepted a teaching position
in the Washington D.C. and Virginia area. In 1963 ReNell and Ron were married
for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple and spent their honeymoon in
Ron's beloved South Africa and Zimbabwe where he had served his LDS mission.
Everywhere they traveled and lived from Africa to Europe to Japan, California,
Ohio and Georgia. ReNell made friends who were immediately attracted to her
physical beauty and her most beautiful spirit. She was a woman without guile.
For the last 35 years ReNell and Ron have lived in Bountiful but due to
ReNell's health condition they moved to Alpine in 2004 to be closer to
children and grandchildren who were helping take care of her. ReNell was a
devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and showed
her deep love of the Lord by her daily acts of Christ-like love, charity and
thoughtful service to her children, grandchildren, friends and strangers. She
is survived by her h usband Ron, daughter Alisha (Terry) Ferrell, son Sharif
(Danielle) Hadley, daughter Sherina Hadley also nine grandchildren. She is
also survived by her sisters June McGavin and LaNea Adams and her brother Dean
Robinson. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 24, 2005 at 12:00 noon
in the Mueller Park Stake Center Chapel, 1800 East Mueller Park Road, (1800
South) Bountiful, Utah. Family and friends may attend a viewing Wednesday
evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Warenski Funeral Home, 1776 North 900 East,
(located four blocks north of the Mt. Timpanogos Temple), American Fork, Utah
and an additional viewing at the Stake Center on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to
11:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment will take place at Lake View Memorial
Estates, Bountiful, Utah.

Hess, Cody
LAS VEGAS - Cody Eugene Hess, 6, passed away March 19, 2005, at Sunrise
Hospital in Las Vegas. He was born March 19, 1999, in Ogden, Utah. He attended
R.E. Tobler Elementary School. A spirit of pure love and joy, he has taught us
the truth of unconditional love. He lived not for yesterday nor tomorrow, but
for the now, and with no regret. We love you and thank you for allowing us to
spend even a moment with you. He is survived by his mother, Misty Hess;
father, Brian Hess, both of Las Vegas; grandparents, Richard and Marie Loper
of Ogden, Utah, Frank and Linda McFarland and Bruce and Carolyn Hess; and
grandmother, Adel Hess, all of Las Vegas. Funeral services will be held
Saturday, March 26, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th Street,

Leavitt, June K. Rhodes Muir
WASHINGTON TERRACE- June Leavitt, 80, died Sunday, March 20, 2005 at her home.
She was born June 1, 1924 to Mae Smith and Jack Koning. On February 7, 1949
she married Eugene Rhodes, they were later divorced. In 1977 she married Paul
Muir he passed away in 1981. In 1982 she married Wayne Leavitt and he passed
away in 1983. She enjoyed spending many winters in Yuma, Arizona and weekends
in Wendover with Cliff. She was a member of the Roy Eagles and the American
Legion. She is survived by one son Randy (Pat) Rhodes, her loving companion
Clifford Cloke, one sister, Mildred (William) Beeler, three grandsons, two
granddaughters, seven great grandsons, two former daughter in-laws, Chris
Brown, and Cherie Rhodes, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in
death by her parents, her sister, Myrtle Leavitt, one son Rick Rhodes, Paul
Muir, and Wayne Leavitt. The family would like to thank the staff of McKay-Dee
Hospital and all those that helped care for h er through hospice. Graveside
services will be held Thursday, March 24, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Washington

Loertscher, LaReeta
LAYTON - LaReeta Loertscher, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and
friend graciously slipped the bonds of our earthly presence on March 18, 2005,
to return to the embrace of our Heavenly Father. Her journey in life began in
American Fork, Utah, on August 2, 1938, where she was born to William Abraham
and Clara Arvilla Olsen Patrick. On September 9, 1960, she married her
life-long love, Gerald Russell Loertscher in the Salt Lake Temple. She enjoyed
her travels with her family, which took her to several states. She also found
pleasure in bowling, crafts and doll collecting. She blessed her family and
friends with her talents in drawing, sewing, and crocheted gifts. Her laughter
and care also touched the hearts of those she worked with in her many church
callings. LaReeta is survived by her husband, three sons and three daughters:
Jeffery (Claudia), Russell (Kimberly), LaMonte (Amy), KayLynn (Cory)
Lindquist, Jaylene (Edward) McAbee and Dawnell Loertscher. Her sixteen
grandchildren Kami, Patrick, Griffin, Jessie, Jayden, Ashley, Amber, Cameron,
Caleb, Nathen, Alura, Amanda (Brandon), Ben, Kara, Sebastian and Vincent will
also miss her caring ways. She is preceded in death by her son Sheldon,
Father, Mother and brother. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 24,

Munn, Shirlee Irene Owen
Shirlee Irene Owen died March 11, 2005 in San Francisco, CA. She was born in
Ogden, Utah, May 28th 1933. Since moving to the SF Bay area in 1960, she began
her career at Fairchild Semiconductor as an executive secretary. After six
years she began her life as a highly motivated independent business woman,
starting in Real Estate. She entered the fast-paced world of advertising
garnishing numerous accolades and awards along the way. It was said that she
was born twenty years too late. It seemed that way with her youthful
exuberance and the younger people she seemed to attract. They regarded her
with awe and inspiration, and the invaluable experience she was always willing
to share. Although her illness forced her into retirement in 1995, she was
still busy working on accounts at home digitally. She died peacefully at
Californian Pacific Medical Center after her lengthy battle with cancer. She
is survived by her son Richard and daughter-in-law Diane, sister Linda and
brother Donn. Funeral services will be held the Saturday, March 26, 2005 at 11
a.m. at Lindquist's North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd., North
Ogden. Friends and family may call at the mortuary from 10 to 10:45 a.m.

Palmer, N. Charlene
OGDEN - Nettie Charlene Palmer, 74, died Sunday, March 20, 2005 at her home in
Ogden. She was born June 13, 1930 in Ogden, a daughter of Clarence Glen and
Ella Belinda Wall Jackson. In 1948, Charlene married Keith W. Palmer in Ogden.
She was raised and educated in Ogden graduating from Ogden High School. She
also attended Weber State College. Charlene was a member of The Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was active in the PTA and served as
President of the local chapter of the Women's Auxiliary of the Disabled
American Veterans. Charlene was a champion roller skater in her younger years.
She also competed in many championships with the Women's Bowling Association.
She was a seamstress, poet and artist, and always enjoyed going on family
vacations and picnics. Surviving are her husband, Keith, of Ogden; five
children, Scott (Myrleen) Palmer, Henderson, NV; Kristie (Ralph) Dixon, Ogden;
Leslie (Ronald) Martin, South Ogden; Kathie B. Tiger, Ogden; Ja son Palmer,
South Ogden; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Charlene was
preceded in death by one sister and one brother. Funeral services will be held
Thursday at 1 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Thursday from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

Payne, Rocky Dennis
HOWELL - Sergeant Rocky Dennis Payne, 26, was killed while serving his country
in Iraq on March 16, 2005. He was born on May 19, 1978 in Brigham City, Utah
to Dennis William and Percilla Marie Abbott Payne. Rocky was a member of the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Howell Ward. He served a
stake mission, was a seminary graduate, an Eagle Scout and received his GED.
He excelled in playing the piano and played by ear. He was mechanical,
especially in auto mechanics and electronics. Rocky loved animals and was
drawn to children of all ages. He is known for being a practical joker. Rocky
served in the Marine Corps for four and a half years. While in the Marines he
served humanitarian missions in Africa, Yemen, Australia, Philippines and was
involved in the initial assault on Baghdad. Rocky was honorably discharged
from the Marine Corp and then he re-enlisted in the Army and was sent to Iraq
in June of 2004. At the time of his death, he was serv ing with the 497th
Transportation Company out of Ft. Lewis, WA supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom
in Baghdad, Iraq. He was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze
Star Medal. Survivors are his parents; four brothers: Randall William (Cindy)
of Tremonton, Utah, Rory D. (Lisa) of Sandy, Utah, Ricky Gene (Janalee) and
Russell Warren (Marcy) both of Clinton, Utah; one Grandmother: Percilla Abbott
of Malad; and he was the favorite Uncle of four nieces and seven nephews. He
was preceded in death by his Grandparents: John Lawrence and Verda Louise
Whitaker Payne and Jacob Clifford Abbott. Funeral services will be held on
Friday, March 25, 2005 at the Garland Tabernacle located at 140 West Factory
Street, Garland, Utah at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends may call on Thursday
evening, March 24, 2005 starting at 6:00 p.m. and also on Friday morning from
9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Garland Tabernacle. Interment will be held at the
Howell Cemetery. While Rocky was eligible to be buried i n the Arlington
National Cemetery his family's wish was to bring him home to be buried in
Howell with full military honors provided by the Utah Army National Guard.

Phipps, Charles Clifford (Memoriam)
IN LOVING MEMORY OF CHARLES CLIFFORD PHIPPS March 23, 1905 - April 26, 1981
Born in Evanston, Wyoming, the 12th of 15 children of Albert William and
Martha Wagstaff Phipps. Father of Doris (Mickie), Colleen, Dean, and Alan;
grandfather of Diane, Dawna, Dennis, and Denise; Sebrina; Jodi, Jeffery, and
Kurt; Holly, Michael, Maija-Liisa, and Scott. Many great-grand children and
great-great-grand children. He married Norris Gooch, Glenna Owens, Pearl
Halls, and Vaudis Holdaway. Cliff started work for the railroad in Evanston at
age 13, running errands and waking train crews for their shifts, but moved to
Ogden in 1922, where he worked until age 65 for the OUR&D, tracking rail
freight as a clerk. He loved dancing, gardening, fishing, and keeping his
house, yard, and cars immaculate. Always a hard worker, he worked two jobs to
pay off his mortgage early, hanging it on the Christmas tree. He was always
generous with his means and time, including that box of cherry chocolates
always in his top dresse r drawer. After retirement he loved traveling the
west by train and car. Happy 100th birthday, Dad.

Ricketts, Milton W.
SOUTH OGDEN - Milton William Ricketts, 71, died Friday, March 18, 2005 at the
Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake City. He was born May 11, 1933 in Hiawatha,
Utah, a son of Emory W. and Flora Warren Ricketts. Milton married Toni Godwin
on January 20, 1990 in Ogden. He was reared and educated in Hiawatha and lived
most of his life in the Ogden area. He received his B.S. degree in sociology
from Weber State College with a minor in gerontology. Milt was a faithful
member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a veteran of
the Korean War serving with the U.S. Army and Air Force. He retired from Hill
Air Force Base after 42 years of service as a parts controller. Milt always
loved music and played the piano and organ. Surviving are his wife, Toni, of
South Ogden; two sons and three daughters, William Ray Ricketts, Australia;
John Ricketts, Park City, UT; LuAnn Jones, Taylorsville, UT; Denice Ricketts
and Diana (Jim) Bolinger, both of Ogden; thre e stepsons, Eugene Stevenson
Jr., Ryan Lee Stevenson and Perry Robert Stock; numerous grandchildren and
great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother, Norman Ricketts, and his
aunt, Wanda Lund. Preceding him in death were his son, James Ricketts and his
brother, Galen Ricketts. Memorial services will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at
Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Cremation under the
direction of Lindquist's Crematory. Inurnment will take place at Lindquist's
Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd., at a later date.

Rowland, Robert L.
OGDEN - Robert Lester Rowland, 89, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March
19, 2005. He was born July 3, 1915 in Ogden, a son of Ivan and Mae Morrison
Rowland. Robert married Eva Betteridge on May 5, 1941, in North Ogden. They
were happily married for 64 years. Robert volunteered for military service in
1941 and he served in the United States Army Medical Corp during World War II.
He served in Alaska after completing Officer Candidates School, eventually
reaching the rank of Captain. He was honorably discharged in 1946. He then
attended Weber State College and the University of Utah. Before World War II
Robert worked for the Forest Service and Dee Memorial Hospital in Ogden. After
WWII he returned to Ogden, where he operated an x-ray lab and worked at Hill
Air Force Base. He eventually returned to the Forest Service where he was
employed for more than 20 years as a computer programmer. He retired in 1978.
Robert loved nature and the universe. His hobbies included geology, rock
hunting and collecting, astronomy and photography. He also enjoyed creating
useful things for family and friends in his workshop. Robert is survived by
his wife, Eva; one daughter, Judy Gordon, Honolulu, HI; and one son, Robert
Rowland, Portland, OR; and extended family, Jerry and Kathy Lemon, Kristin and
Ben Bean, Josh and Jill Lemon, and Brook and Simon Greathead; dear friends,

Saunders, LeRoy E.
NIBLEY - LeRoy Elmer Saunders, 88, devoted husband,father and grandfather,
passed away due to causes incident to his age, March 20, 2005. LeRoy was born
January 3, 1917, in Greenville, Utah, the fifth of fourteen children born to
Willard Gimbert and Kirstiana Andersen Saunders. Raised in Benson, he
graduated from North Cache High School, and later married Helene Elizabeth
Olsen in the Logan Temple, November 23, 1938. The parents of seven children,
they have spent nearly all of their married life living in Nibley. LeRoy was
known to all as an industrious worker. During World War II, he supported the
war effort by working at the Ogden Arsenal. After the conclusion of the war,
he joined with a brother in a farming operation, raising a variety of row
crops, a small dairy herd, and later developing a successful mink ranching
operation. Many Cache Valley youth earned their school money each year picking
beans in the Saunders pole bean fields through the 1960's and early 197 0's.
He also worked for the U.S. Postal Service,where he served as a rural route
carrier to the farming communities in the southwest part of the valley until
his retirement. He was an accomplished gardener, and raised a large and
abundant garden, which he shared with all the neighbors. He loved to fish, and
truly enjoyed the time he spent fishing in local rivers, streams, reservoirs
and irrigation canals. He also served as a "Santa's Helper" for many years,
bringing joy to the faces of little children each holiday season. LeRoy was a
faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in
a variety of callings, including bishop's counselor, priesthood presidencies
and group leadership, and for many years as Scoutmaster of Nibley's Troop 28.
In 1984, he and Helene fulfilled a life-long dream when they were called to
serve in the California San Diego Mormon Battalion Visitors Center Mission.
After the conclusion of their mission, they gave many years of service as offi
ciators in the Logan Temple. LeRoy is survived by his wife of 67 years,
Helene, and six of their children: Yvonne (L.R.) Earl, River Heights; Kathryn
(M. Don) Larsen, Smithfield; Karren (Richard) Farnsworth, Boise, Idaho; Janet
(Quin) Pinson, Farmington; Vincent (Ann) Saunders, West Jordan; and Victor
(Kelley) Saunders, Providence; a foster son, Rod (Jo) Velarde, Dulce New
Mexico; 23 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by
five siblings, Dorothy (VerNon) Petersen, Smithfield; Donna Naylor, Logan;
Merlin (Venna) Saunders, Benson; Carroll ( J. Allen) Wayman, Brigham City; and
Willard (Rosalie) Saunders, Hyde Park. His parents, siblings Aletha, Gilbert,
Earl, Mary, Lillie, Ruth, Donald and Wendell, a son, Randall, and three
grandchildren, Catherine Earl and Brady and Matthew Larsen, preceded him in
death. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 24, 2005 at noon, at the
Nibley 6th LDS Ward, 3200 South 350 West, Nibley under the direction of Bishop
Brett Broadhe ad. Friends may call Wednesday evening at Allen-Hall Mortuary
from 6 to 8 p.m., and 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. before the funeral service at the
ward house. Interment will be in the Logan Cemetery. Condolences may be sent

Stewart Sr., William A.
William A. Stewart Sr. passed away March 15th, 2005. William was 76 years old,
born May 23rd, 1928 in Denver, CO to Alfred and Roberta Stewart. He was a
retired Air Force veteran and a loving and caring father, husband and friend.
He will always be remembered. He is survived by Clifford Stewart, Angie
Thurgood (Mike) David (Julie) Houchins, Sheryl (Darrell) Helbert; Carl
Stewart, Mark Stewart, Evelyn Stewart, 12 grandchildren and
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva and five
sons, William Russell, Charles, Michael and Paul. Graveside services will be
held Monday, March 28th at Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500
Washington Blvd. Funeral arrangements under direction of Lindquist's Ogden
Mortuary.

Stringfellow, Dale A.
Dale A. Stringfellow, Ph.D. 1944 - 2005 On Friday, March 18, our wonderful
father, brother, uncle and grandfather passed away in Walnut Creek, California
after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Dale was born September 13,
1944 in Salt Lake City, Utah as the second child to Paul and Jeane
Stringfellow. He earned his Undergraduate & Masters degrees, and Doctorate in
Microbiology at the University of Utah. Dale married his sweetheart Jean
Racker, June 17, 1965 in the LDS Salt Lake Temple. Dale was the loving father
of three children: Jennifer, Wendy and Ashley. He was the proud and adored
grandfather of eight grandchildren who will miss him terribly: Nick, Madison,
Hayley, Jack, Hannah, Erik, Will and Ella. He also considered his daughters'
spouses, Jeffrey and Ralf, as his own sons. Dale was the founder of three
successful biotechnology companies, Myraid Genetics Inc., Cognetix Inc, and
Acacia Biosciences. He was most recently CEO and President of Berlex
Laboratories. Prior to these roles, Dale was Vice President of Pre-Clinical
Cancer Research at Bristol-Myers Squibb. He was Vice President of Collagen
Corporation and also spent ten years researching cancer and virology at the
Upjohn Company. He had served as adjunct faculty member at SUNY Upstate
Medical Center and University of Connecticut. Dale cherished spending time
with his family at his home, cabin and on family trips. He was an avid
fisherman and had many fond memories of fishing and backpacking trips with his
brothers Jerry and Jeff. Dale had a great sense of humor and loved joking
around with his grandchildren. Working in his garden was a favorite pastime
and last fall he was successful in producing several varieties of 250-pound
pumpkins. His most important mission was to teach the values that he held
dear: respect, integrity, and honesty. The last several months were difficult
for him, but he endured and never complained. He could always be found wearing
his baseball cap with the motto "Life is Good ". Preceded in death by his
parents. Survived by his beloved wife of 40 years Jean, daughters and
sons-in-law, and grandchildren. Also survived by his brothers Jerry (Barbara)
and Jeff and sister Paulette (Dave). Funeral arrangements by Magleby's Family
Mortuary. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 24, 2005 at 11:00 a.m.
at the LDS Alamo Church, located at 2949 Stone Valley Road, Alamo. A viewing
will be held from 9:30 - 10:30 prior to service. Internment at Oakmont
Memorial Gardens in Pleasant Hill, CA. In lieu of flowers the family suggests
contributions in honor of Dale to the UCSF Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund,

Wagstaff, May T.
PERRY - Maud May Thomson Wagstaff, 93, died Monday, March 21, 2005 in Brigham
City. May was born January 28, 1912 in Salt Lake City a daughter of Benjamin
John and Charlotte Augusta Thomas. She married Arthur E. Wagstaff on November
28, 1934 in the Salt Lake Temple. He died February 2, 1996. She was a member
of the LDS Church and had served in many ward callings throughout her life,
with special love for the primary and great admiration for the relief society.
She and her husband worked as officiators at the Ogden Temple and they served
a mission in Tulsa, OK in 1978 to 1980 Surviving are her children, David
(Letha) Wagstaff of Ogden, Gary Wagstaff of Nibley; Barbara (Lamoine) Jensen
of Florida; Caroline Anderson of Arizona; Richard Dick (Jean) Wagstaff of
Perry; Stephan Steve (Roxanna) Wagstaff of Park Valley, 33 grandchildren, 64
great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will
be Saturday, March 26, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. the Willard Stake Center, 658 West
2250 South, Perry, Utah. Friends may call Friday 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers
Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City and Saturday 12:00 to 12:40 p.m. at the
church. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers May
