Revalee was very precious to each of us and much loved and will be missed by her family immensely. She touched our lives in different ways down through the years in ways that we will never forget. Mary Revalee Carmichael, 71, passed away on May 6, 2005. Revalee was born on June 12, 1933 west of the Pecos River, NM in an earth dugout home to the parents of Welsey Allen and Allie Mae Frazier. Revalee along with her husband owned and operated a landscaping business and Revalee was a waitress. Revalee retired when she came to Utah, but in recent years Revalee provided childcare to her great niece. She is survived by her children, Debbie (Bob) Early, Coantha (Richard) Smith, Ted (Chonghui) Carmichael, Arthur Carmichael, and Tony Carmichael. Revalee had seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and extended family. Revalee is preceded in death by her husband, James Alfred Carmichael, her parents, Allie Mae and Wesley Allen Frazier, her sister Venita Yates, and one brother Carlos Dale Frazier. Cunnington, Apache Junction, Arizona, passed away May 4, 2005. He was born February 10, 1928, in American Falls, Idaho. He spent his childhood in Idaho Falls, Idaho and moved to Ogden, Utah in 1942. He and his sister Dorothy moved to Berkley, California, where he graduated from Berkley High School. After graduation he joined the Army. He returned to Berkley and attended the University of California. He married his wife, Joyce, June 24, 1950. He lived in Ogden and was employed by the State Dept. of Highways in the Engineering Division until 1961, when he joined Pettijohn Engineering of Portland, Oregon and relocated to the Pacific Northwest. He was primarily involved in Hydro Electric, Coal and Nuclear power projects and power lines in the Pacific Northwest. After his retirement he and his wife Joyce moved from Bellevue, Washington to Arizona, where they spent the winters in Apache Junction and summers in Dewey. Don loved life, his friends, golf, ice crea m, traveling and a good party. He was brave, courageous and touched many lived with a special kind of humor. Many people pass through our lives but some stop and linger. Don shall live in the hearts of many with wonderful happy memories. Rest in Peace in our condo and watch the Antelopes play. His father, Loren Cliff Cunnington and his sister, Dorothy preceded him in death. DeJong, Dorothy Francis Shrope Dorothy Francis Shrope DeJong1915 - 2005 Dorothy Francis Shrope DeJong (90) of Farmington, Utah returned peacefully to her Heavenly Father on Mother's Day, May 8, 2005. Dorothy was born the oldest of five children on May 1, 1915 in Kemmerer, Wyoming, to parents John Andrew and Amelia "Molly" (Kink) Shrope. The daughter of a Union Pacific railroad worker and a midwife, she lived in Wyoming, Idaho and Utah. Dorothy attended Davis High School in Kaysville, Utah, where she played the saxophone in the band and was on the softball and basketball teams. She loved to dance and was a regular at Lagoon's dance hall where she met her husband, Adrian DeJong. They were married October 16, 1933 in Farmington, Utah and were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on August 24, 1945. That same year they purchased and ran a dairy farm in Farmington where she lived until her death. Ade and Dot were married for 71 wonderful years. Dorothy was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Sai nts on April 1, 1934. Dorothy had a long life of service and commitment to her country, church, community and especially her family. During World War II, she worked at Remington Arms making artillery shells and at Hill Air Force Base. She was a wonderful cook and worked for many years at James Lunch in Salt Lake City, Larkin's Cafe in Kaysville, and Servus Drug in Bountiful. She held numerous church callings including Primary Teacher, served in the Relief Society Presidency and put in countless hours at the Welfare Cannery. Her hobbies included cooking, crocheting, taking trips to Wendover and in her younger days, she loved camping and fishing with her family. She is survived by her husband, Adrian; her children, Paul (Jo) of Syracuse, Utah; Patricia of Farmington, Utah; Barbara (Bernard) Hammer of Oxnard, California; Gary (Debbie) of Farmington, Utah; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents; one sister, Lucil le Shrope Miller Caps; three brothers, John Jr., Lawrence, and Carl; and two children, Adrian Jr. and Richard. Hall, Edna Ione Edna Ione Hall OGDEN - Edna Ione Hall died peacefully at her home in Ogden, Utah on Sunday, May 1, 2005. Ione, as she was known to her friends, was born May 25, 1921 in Santa Fe, New Mexico, daughter of Lawrence E. and Edna M. Elliott. She spent her childhood years in Santa Fe and Roswell, New Mexico, graduating from Roswell High School in 1940. She attended the University of Oklahoma until her studies were interrupted by World War II and marriage to the love of her life, Ora R. (Dick) Hall, Jr. They were married January 1, 1942 and celebrated 54 years together as partners, parents and friends until his death in 1996. Following the war, she and her husband founded and managed the Federal Abstract Company of Santa Fe, New Mexico. They continued as partners in a variety of business ventures in Roswell, New Mexico from 1958 to 1970, when they "retired" to Ogden, Utah. In Ogden, they pursued additional business endeavors through the establishment of Elliott-Hall Company with their childre n as partners. Over the years, Ione and Dick maintained homes near Vallecitos, New Mexico; Litchfield Park, Arizona; Jackson, Wyoming; and Island Park, Idaho where they enjoyed their passions for golf, bridge, fishing, cooking, gardening, horse racing, savoring the wonders of nature and sharing good times with family and friends. A gifted cook, Ione could put a delicious meal on the table on short notice for all who happened to gather. Ione raised her children in the Episcopal faith and volunteered much support to St. Andrew's Church in Roswell, New Mexico, Church of the Good Shepherd in Ogden, Utah and St. Peter's Church in Litchfield Park, Arizona. She instilled in her children values of tolerance, patience, acceptance and generosity of spirit, and she encouraged them to choose to march to the sound of their own drummer. Aside from her own children, throughout her life she thoughtfully mentored teenagers and adults too numerous to count, earning their trust and easing their burdens wit h wry humor, a quieting voice and timeless wisdom. She shared with her children and grandchildren a deep love of animals of all kinds, but especially horses, dogs and cats. Ione lived a life of community and civic service. From Cub Scouts to Girl Scouts, library boards to public arts organizations, she was always willing to volunteer her time and talents. As secretary of the Pecos Valley Horseman's Association she was the heart and soul of horse shows and rodeos for many years. She often served as a volunteer election judge and was proud to have voted in every election since 1942. She is survived by three children: Mary Ann Miller (Ken) of West Haven, Utah; Patricia Ione Weckel (Billy) of Deming, New Mexico; and George Elliott Hall (Mary) of Ogden, Utah. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Elizabeth June Fry of Pleasant View, Utah, and a son, Lawrence Jackson Hall of Austin, Texas. The family wishes to express their heart-felt appreciation for the incredibly tender care provided by Bea Shupe, Sesiu and Tony Moeaki and to the healthcare professionals of McKay-Dee Hospital and IHC Hospice. Illum, Gail Hamblin Gail Hamblin Illum SYRACUSE - Gail Illum passed away Sunday May 8, 2005 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. Gail was born August 3, 1951 in Ogden, Utah the daughter of Lowell and Elizabeth Hardy Hamblin. She attended Kaysville public schools and graduated from Davis High School in 1969. Gail married Kenneth Illum in 1984 and their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She has lived in Kaysville, Layton and Syracuse her entire life. She was a member of the LDS Syracuse 4th ward and served in various callings. She worked for many years for the IRS. Gail enjoyed sports and was an avid Jazz fan. She was fascinated with butterflies and collected ceramic ones. She loved her flower garden and working among them. Her special love and companion was her little dog TeeBoo. Gail is survived by her brother Lamar Hamblin of Cedar City; sisters, Joann (Darrell) Jones of Coalville, Gerry Barton of Centerville, Joyce (Ronald) Brooks of Syracuse; and many nieces and nephews. She grew up in Arroyo Grande, CA. She married L. Russell Jansen on November 7, 1987 in the Salt Lake City L.D.S. Temple. She was a loving daughter and sister, as well as an adoring wife and mother. Sharon was known for her kindness and generosity to all. Calvin was raised in Roy and had lived in the area all of his life. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Calvin had been married and divorced twice. He had been employed as a truck driver for Geneva Rock. He loved golfing, fishing, skiing and motorcycle riding. He is survived by his father, Calvin B. Floyd was raised in Davis County and graduated from Davis High School. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Dad was a Merchant Marine during WWII. He had many jobs including fireman, Christmas tree salesman, and meat cutter for Homer's Market. Later he became a Real Estate Broker and owned and operated South Davis Realty. He and his partners built many beautiful homes in Davis County. Dad enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and spending time at Bear Lake and his cabin in the Uintahs with his family and friends. He spent the last two years of his life taking care of his wife during a serious illness with selfless love. He is survived by his wife Eldora Parkin; four daug hters, Sharon (DeVere) McKay, Janice (Tim) Brink, Debra (Bob) Renie, and Susan (Joe) Shanklin; two sons, Dave (Cheryl) Parkin and Gary (Kaye) Parkin; 26 grandchildren and 28 great- grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Jean (Lewis) Provstgard, and Colleen (Jack) Hansen. She was a Sterling Scholar in Foreign Language. Meghan was a junior at USU majoring in Math education. Meghan was one of Heavenly Father's choice daughters who touched the lives of all she met. (North) Trease BRIGHAM CITY - Marjorie P. (North) Trease, 81, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2005 at the Brigham City Nursing Center. She was born June 24, 1924 to Joseph and Hazel Pulsipher North in Brigham City. She married James H. Trease September 8, 1942 in Malad, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on February 24, 1990. Marjorie graduated from Box Elder High School in 1941. She was a waitress for 40 years at the Ringside and Pheasant Cafes in Brigham City and the Cross X in Tremonton. She loved to square dance and belonged to the V.F.W. She is survived by one daughter, Margie Lynn Povlov, and one grandson, Konstantine Povlov both of Colorado; one brother Rex North, Ogden; four sisters, Ruby Clawson, Syracuse, Helen Behnke, Great Falls, Montana, Wonda Bodily, Layton, JoAnn Bagshaw, Salt Lake City; two brothers-in-law, John Trease, Hooper and Floyd Trease, Buhl, Idaho, four sisters-in-law, Larene North, Brigham City, Norma North, Willard, Renea North, Grantsville and Grace Price, Payson. She is preceded in death by four brothers, Joseph, Robert, Donald, and Clifford North and one sister Nadine Conger. Marjorie was a loving and caring person and loved and tended many nieces, nephews and neighborhood children throughout her years. She opened her home to special nephews (Kent and Harry Trease) that spent a number of years living with Marge and Jim. She was called "Grandma" by all. She will be missed and was loved by all she came in contact with. Tsujimoto, Satoye Satoye Tsujimoto Satoye Tsujimoto, age 83, passed away on May 5, 2005, from complications due to a stroke. Born on September 24, 1921, in Port Blakeley, WA to Kaichi and Matsuno Kojima, she was the eldest of four children raised on Bainbridge Island, WA. After settling in Salt Lake City and completing business college, she married Floyd Tsujimoto on February 2, 1946. For many years, she worked as a bookkeeper. She and Floyd raised four children: Richard (Lynne Marsenich); Karen (William Lee); Janice (Steve Miura); and David (Jennie Tyndall, fiancee). In addition to her children, Satoye is survived by three siblings: Tatsuyoshi (Esther Yamada) of Seattle, WA; Takiko (Mike Nakamura) of Salt Lake City; and Yuriko, of Renton, WA. She had three grandchildren: Andrew Marsenich Tsujimoto; Carlin Tsujimoto Lee; and Ryan Masato Satcher. Wagner, Thomas Frank Thomas Frank Wagner LAYTON - Thomas Frank Wagner slipped peacefully into heaven at his home on Saturday, May 7, 2005, after a courageous two-month battle with cancer. Tom was born August 29, 1917, in Frackville, Pennsylvania to Theodore and Mary Brosius Wagner. He graduated from Frackville High School in 1939. Tom joined the Army Air Corps August 8, 1942 in Allentown, PA. During WWII he was stationed in the European African Middle Eastern Theater. He was honorably discharged, February 28, 1946. After completing his military service, he became a volunteer fireman for the Good Will Hose House in Frackville, PA. He was a life-long member of that organization. Tom married Ann Patrick in Frackville, PA at the Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church on July 16, 1950. Tom worked at Olmstead Air Force Base in Middletown, Pennsylvania until he was transferred to Hill Air Force Base in 1965. He completed a 42-year career as an aircraft mechanic. He never used even one day of sick leave in all of that time. As a young man, Tom loved to play sports. He especially loved baseball, football and basketball. He passed this love on to his three grandsons; Nathan, Justin, and Drew as well as his left-handedness. He loved to travel, enjoyed all types of woodworking, especially creating beautiful wooden clocks. His nickname was Chick because of his striking blonde hair he had as a young man. Tom was impeccably honest and had such a tender heart. No matter where he went, he knew how to make people laugh and always cared about every person he met. Tom knew how to love and was loved by everyone. He was the best husband, father, and grandfather anyone could ever hope for and always put the needs and cares of his family above his own. Tom is survived by his wife and loving companion of 55 years, Ann; his daughter Ann (Rusty) Bayles, Green River, WY; three grandchildren, Nathan, Justin and Drew Bayles. Also surviving is one sister, Esther Slojsorsky of Florida. Tom was preceded in death b y his infant son, Thomas, parents Theodore and Mary Brosius Wagner and his brothers and sisters; Theodore (Ted), George, Lill, Wilbur Wagner, Mag Mulligan and Bill Wagner. Williams, Darhl Darhl Williams MALAD - Darhl Don Williams, 73, passed away at home Saturday, May 7, 2005 after a long battle with diabetes. He was born January 22, 1932 in Malad, Idaho to Robert Elwin and Annie Charlotte Jenkins Williams. He lived in Malad most of his life and was educated in the Oneida County public schools. On May 14, 1958 he married Juanita B. Prock in Fairfield, Idaho. They had four wonderful children. He was an elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had served as a Sunday School counselor and was a home teacher for many years. Darhl was an operating engineer. He worked for Hess Construction for 10 years and Fife Construction for seven years building roads in Utah and Idaho. He then went to work for Dravo in the Soda Springs mine for 19 years when his health forced him into retirement. He loved to fish, hunt and camping, especially with his grandsons. He also liked to travel and just look at the scenery. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Darin (Rhon da) Williams, Caldwell, Idaho and Douglas (Nacona) of Malad. Two daughters, Patricia Christensen and Ava (Todd) Hurlbert of Brigham City, Utah. Two daughters from a previous marriage, Donnette and Gayln; 15 grandchildren and 7 1/2 great-grandchildren. One brother, Robert (Fae) Williams of Jerome, Idaho; one sister, Joyce Scott of Ogden, Utah; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Williams and Lorraine Williams of Ogden, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, Errol, Leon, Clyde, Ray, Ed and Gene and two sisters, Arthel and Ella Mae. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at 12 noon in the Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N. Malad. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday prior to service from 10:00 to 11:45 a.m. Burial will follow in the Malad City Cemetery. Published in the Standard-Examiner on 5/10/2005.
