Carl was born on May 22, 1919, to Norman and Gretta Anderson in Uintah. He was raised and educated in Weber County and attended both Weber College and USU where he studied auto and airplane mechanics. However, his studies were interrupted in 1942 when he answered the call of his country to serve in the Army Air Corp in WWII, which he did honorably. After the war he served a mission to both the Norwegian and New England missions. Upon returning home he was sealed to Ruth Viola Fullmer, directly following they moved to Tucson, AZ, where he worked as a flight instructor for the Air Corp. In addition, to his service in the Air Corp he has successfully owned and operated two custom body truck businesses and ended hi s professional career working for UDOT. Throughout his professional experiences Carl has made numerous friends all over the country which have been touched by his constant desire to serve others. Carl was an active and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served dutifully in all the callings and assignments given to him. Carl will be remembered for his diligence in always giving service to those of his community, including the boy scouts; also for the love that his father instilled in him of the outdoors, hard work, and farming. Carl had much success in his life from his love of designing and building things and has left his unique mark in the hearts of all those of whom he has come in contact. He is survived by his two sons Carl Norman Jr. (Penny) and Clyde, his daughter Jean, and his adopted son Tony Tsosie. Also surviving, are his two sisters Phyllis Dolin and Inez Fife, his six grandchildren Destinee, Carl III (Ericka), Casey, Brandon, Jared, and E llie, and two great-grandchildren Carl IV and Emma Ruth. Funeral services will be held on Monday at noon at the Uintah 1st Ward Chapel, 6650 S. 1775 E., Uintah. Family and friends may call on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Aarons Mortuary, 1600 Washington Blvd. or at 11:00 on Monday at the Uintah 1st Ward Chapel. Astle, Hazel Benson Hazel Benson Astle Brigham City - Hazel Benson slipped away peacefully at her home on Friday, May 13, 2005 surrounded by her family. She was born July 7, 1912 to Isaac Benson and Mary Elizabeth Tingey in Brigham City, Utah. She attended Lincoln Elementary, Box Elder High School, and Weber Academy. She married Clarence James Astle on November 28, 1933 in Ogden, Utah. He preceded her in death on November 10, 1975. They were blessed with one son, Bill. They were later sealed in the Logan Temple. She was a lifelong resident of Brigham City. She had the opportunity of being born, living her entire life, and dying in her family red brick adobe home that was built the same year that she was born. This home and yard were truly the center of her life. She was very proud of her mormon heritage and worked for many years in the church nursery and other various callings. Hazel was a homemaker and was a unique individual and ran on her own track. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, and older sister Ruth, her husband Clarence, and granddaughter-in-law BambiLe Walker Astle, and great-grandson Ike Benson Astle. She is survived by her only son Bill (DonNell), grandson Benson (Peggy), great-grandchildren Amy (Jason) Larkin, Nik, Rhet, and Kole Astle. She is also survived by twin great-granddaughters Lindsey and Kelsen Larkin. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Brigham City Cemetery. Barnum, Ella Rogers Ella Rogers Barnum MILTON, Morgan County - Ella Rogers Barnum, 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 12, 2005. She was born December 14, 1914, in Hyrum, Utah, a daughter of Orson and Lizzie Rogers. She was the first of seven children. Her family moved to Harrisville when she was seven years old. Ella attended school in Weber County and graduated from Weber High School. She married Milton Barnum on April 7, 1937, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died April 23, 1980. Ella lived in Morgan County for 68 years. Ella was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in the Relief Society, Sunday School, Primary and enjoyed temple work. Ella also taught many young girls how to sew in the 4-H program and at the high school. She was always willing to judge sewing at county and state fairs. She enjoyed being a homemaker and her interests included crocheting, cooking, baking bread and rolls as well as traveling. Ella had an exceptional talent for piec ing and quilting quilts. She made many quilts and blankets for family and friends and gave of this service until the time of her passing. Ella especially enjoyed spending time with her daughters and grandchildren. She is survived by daughters Phyllis (LaMoyne) Jensen, Roy; Ramona (Bruce) Widdison, Centerville; grandson Roger (Annette) Prescott, Morgan; son-in-law Pete Prescott, Uintah; 11 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. Also survived by a brother, Melvin (Ellen) Rogers; and sisters, Irene Kingsford, Lillian Johnson, and Marilou Sorensen and a sister-in-law, Ruth Charlton. Ella was proceeded in death by a daughter, Cheril Prescott; grandson, John B. Widdison; and brothers, Dr. LaMar Rogers and Harold Rogers. He was born March 25, 1953 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of William Thomas and Almetta James Bundy. He served in the U.S. Army from 1972 to 1975. He was employed as a carpet layer. Castaneda, Carmella Carmella Castaneda OGDEN - Carmella Niccoli Castaneda, 84, passed away peacefully May 13, 2005, at Crestwood Care Center in Ogden, Utah. Carmen was born November 7, 1921 in Hastings, Colorado. She was the youngest of 12 children born to MaryAnn and Joseph Anthony Niccoli. Carmen attended Trinidad High School in Colorado and from there went on to graduate from Trinidad Beauty College. In early 1940, she met and married Frelen Wright, and together the couple had six children. Following the death of two husbands, she moved to Pueblo, Colorado where she rebuilt her life and resided for over 40 years. She was active in a sewing circle; she loved doing crossword puzzles, crocheting, ceramics, and helping her neighbors. Carmen moved to Ogden, in November 2002. She was baptized into the LDS Church in March of the following year. She was preceded in death by her parents, 10 brothers and sisters, two husbands, and one son, Gary Wright. She is survived by three daughters and spouse s, Mamie Gleaves, Ogden; and Don Gleaves, Sharon Gallas, Pittsburg; Judy and Mark Morrow, Oregon; two sons, Robert and Joetta Wright, Florida; Jake Wright, California; five grandchildren, Kevin and Wendi Gleaves, Ogden; Heather and Greg Warren, Laramie; Jeremy Mosure, Florida; Jolene Mosure, Oregon; Robbi Wright, California; Celeste Wright, California; Tammy Taylor, Tennessee; Robert Wright, Jr., Florida; and nine great-grandchildren. Scott was born in Ogden on August 26, 1974 and graduated from Weber H.S. in 1993. He was an Elder in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Scott took great pride in his occupation and loved his work. He was a gentle, caring person with a delightful sense of humor. He leaves behind his parents, his brothers and sisters, Darin, Michelle, Nikole (David) Bonnell and Sean; his special little buddy, Jourden; another nephew, Tyler; and many caring relatives and his co-workers at Shopko. Doughten, Margie Dallin Margie Dallin Doughten OGDEN - Margie passed away on Friday, May 13, 2005 after a long and painful bone disease. She was born December 5, 1923 in Whitepine County, McGill, Nevada. Margie was the daughter of LaVon Iverson and Stephen Arnold Dallin. She married Reginald L. Doughten. After his death she married Thomas Harsha, no name change. Margie was reared and educated in Bear River City, Utah. She graduated from Box Elder High School in Brigham City, Utah. After graduating, she was immediately employed at Defense Depot Ogden. She worked 38 years beginning in 1942 and retiring in 1980. During her service, she received numerous awards and decorations for following through on assignments and always doing a task extremely well. She enjoyed music and was blessed with a beautiful voice. Throughout her high school days and later she played the guitar, sang, and yodeled. She helped organize the chorus at Defense Depot Ogden, they were called The Depoaires. They sang at many church, civic and m ilitary functions. After retirement she joined the South Ogden Senior Singing Group, they sang at many retirement and assisted living organizations. Margie loved playing bridge with her South Ogden senior friends. Tom volunteered at the center for many years. Tom and Margie spent many happy hours at their trailer house at the Ogden Eagles Park. They loved traveling. She especially loved going to Las Vegas and Wendover, Nevada. She told her family and friends it was because she was born in Nevada. Margie was known for her cheerful nature and her incredible sense of humor. She often said friends, family and memories are what make life so special. Each day of our lives is truly a gift. That's why it's called the present. She loved life, living every moment to the fullest. She was happiest when involved with her family. She was a member of the L.D.S. 3rd Canyon View Ward. She was a member of the American Business Women's Association and American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by her husband Tom; two sisters and three brothers, Arva (Bob) Archibald and Roger (Bette) Dallin, both from Bear River City; Velma (Floyd) Graves, Sandy, Utah; Dennis (Collene) Dallin, Salt Lake City, Utah; and Terry (Cathy) Dallin, Coalville, Utah. She is also survived by one brother-in-law, Lee (Elaine) Johnson. Margie was a special aunt to eight nieces and 11 nephews who she loved very much. Willa married her high school sweetheart Connell (Con) S. Eskelson on Aug. 1, 1956 in the Logan Temple. Willa worked at ZCMI for many years. She loved all those who she came in contact with, and treasured the precious memories she had there. Mother enjoyed homemaking, knitting, quilting, and most of all being with her family. She knew how to throw a family party. Her smile is a ray of sunshine and would make everyone happy. She is survived by, and will be greatly missed by her husband, Con; her children Sandy (Richard) Cooper, Rusty (Allyson) Eskelson, Mike Eskelson, and Marcy (Lee) Potts. Fillmore passed away May 13, 2005. Miles was born July 18, 1915 in Leon, Kansas to Thomas and Ethel Burbank Fillmore. He married the love of his life Patricia Jean Keith on May 22, 1948 they would of been married 57 years this month. Miles worked at Consolidated Freightways for 39 1/2 years. Member of the Multi Million Miler Club. Gilson, Grace Price Grace Price Gilson Our loving mother and grandmother, Grace Emma Trease Price Gilson, age 88, peacefully passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2005 in Payson, Utah. She was born January 4, 1917 in Blackpine, Idaho to John Wesley and Jessie Showalter Trease, one of 14 children. She married A.G. Price on November 28, 1932 in Ogden, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on May 11, 1955. He died May 25, 1969. She later married Robert Gilson. He also preceded her in death. Grace was a longtime resident of Spanish Fork, Utah. She enjoyed sewing and taking care of her family. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Grace is survived by her three sons: Carl O. (Carol) Price of North Ogden, Dennis Gary Price of Grantsville, Ronald L. (Donna) Price of Payson; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers: John Trease of Hooper, Utah, and Floyd Trease of Buel, Idaho. Krichbaum, Robert Wayne Robert Wayne Krichbaum 1940 - 2005 LAYTON - Robert Wayne Krichbaum loving Husband and Father and Grandfather left this earth after a valiant fight with cancer. He was born December 14, 1940 in Bucyrus, Ohio the son of Cecil and Mary Krichbaum. He married Linda Lou Mills on February 23, 1961 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio and they had three wonderful children. Robert was a 21 year veteran of the Air Force during Vietnam as a Master Sergeant. He was a member of V.F.W., American Legion, Gold Wing Motorcycle Club, and Wasatch Aero Mopelers. He loved to fish, camp, ride motor cycles, restore cars, and fly model airplanes. He was always there to fix things for his family, friends and neighbors. Bob could fix anything. He always found a way. He lived the past 29 years in Utah and was a member of the Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Linda, son, Jeffrey, and two daughters, Bonnie Krichbaum and Connie Robertson, all from Layton, three grand daughters, Sarah and Shellie Robertson of Ogden, and Amber Cotter of Layton, his sister Meriam Krichbaum of Miamisberg, OH, brothers, David (Sue) Miamisberg, OH, Tom (Ada) of Pataskala, OH, Franklin (Phyliss) of Forrest, OH. Kuta, Herta Hermine Cervinka Herta Hermine Anna Cervinka Kuta ROY - Herta Hermine Cervinka Kuta, 88, passed away Monday, May 9, 2005, at her home. She was born September 27, 1916, in Warnsdorf, Germany, the daughter of Antonin Cervinka and Anna Wenxelova. Herta was raised in Germany and lived there until 1945 when it became Czechoslovakia. She lived in Czechoslovakia until 1968 when she moved to West Germany. In 1988 she lived in the Czech Republic and Germany until 2000. Since 2000 she has resided in Roy, Utah. On September 25, 1943 Herta married Adolf Kuta, in Praha. Adolf preceded her in death in April 24, 1992. She enjoyed shopping and singing and loved her dog "Deanna". Herta is survived by her daughter, Eva (Edward) Bundy, five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, and a brother, Ladislav Cervinka. Paula was born March 13, 1948 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Thomas and Arlene Hooper Stevenson. She married Joseph Lipski on January 6, 1968 in Collingdale, Pennsylvania. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd and belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary. She held a Masters of Education degree and taught at the Clearfield Job Corp. She loved her husband, family, grandchildren and friends. She lived for her students and the love of teaching. Nothing brought her greater joy than gaining and sharing knowledge. If you met her, you loved her. When she loved you, your life was changed forever. He served with the U.S. Air Force for four years. Don retired from Hill Air Force Base after 35 years of service in data operations. He served as a Scout Leader and enjoyed coaching athletics. Don also enjoyed hunting, fishing, genealogy, and coin collecting. He served as President of the Ogden Chapter of the NRA. Surviving are his wife, Mary, of Layton; two sons and three daughters, Travis L. (Tonya) McDonald, and Trent C. (Melanie) McDonald, both of Layton; Teresa McDonald Frecker, Ogden; Tiffany A. McDonald, Layton; Kaye Ellen McDonald Slack, Henderson, NV; and 11 grandchildren. Also surviving are four brothers, Jack (Bonnie) McDonald, Ogden; Kent (Lynelle) McDonald, Sandy; Steve (Linda) McDonald, Springfield, OH; Kelly (Beverly) McDonald, Provo. McKay, Norma Jane Vowles Norma Jane Vowles McKay Norma Jane Vowles McKay, 74, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2005 at the Rocky Mountain Care Center in Clearfield, Utah. She was born November 8, 1930 in Tooele, Utah to Albert Orval and Amy Orme Vowles. She married Bryant Paul McKay on April 30, 1953 in the Salt Lake Temple. After moving with her family to Ogden, she attended Madison, Central and Ogden High schools. She received a full scholarship to the Thomas D. Dee Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and also furthered her nursing studies at Weber State College and the University of Utah. She worked at the Dee Hospital, several nursing homes and was also a private duty nurse. After marriage, she moved with her husband to Huntsville, Utah. She was a member of the LDS Church, where she held many positions. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, the Blue Quill Poetry-writing group and the Weber County Sheriff's Mounted Posse Wives. She volunteered with many school and charitable organizatio ns. She is survived by her sons: Paul David (Nancy) McKay, Plain City; John Albert (Judy) Parks, Roy and Alan Bruce (Ida Mae) McKay of Huntsville. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, her sister Marjorie (Harold) Strand, Pleasant View, her brothers Robert O. (Thella) Vowles, St. George; Dr. Keith O. Vowles, Reno, Nevada; many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at the Huntsville 2nd Ward, 277 South 7400 East in Huntsville. Miller, 84, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2005 in Ogden following a courageous battle with cancer. Peggy was born June 30, 1920 in Los Angeles, California, to Lee and Matilda Mylander Marsh. She married Jack L. Finder. They were later divorced. She married Robert L. Miller. He preceded her in death. Peggy was reared and educated in California moving to Utah in 1952. She returned to California in 1959 and moved back to Utah in 1972. She worked as an accountant for many years at various companies. Peggy was a fantastic mother and grandmother. She was an avid walker and loved her animals, birds and trips to Wendover. She was the best cook in the world - especially her spaghetti sauce. She loved the outdoors, fishing, camping, and in her younger years, she played competitive volleyball. Surviving are two sons and one daughter, Jack (Shelley) Finder, and Bob (Pam) Finder, both of Liberty; Karen (Artie) Longfellow, Ogden; nine grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are two sisters, Alice Babel, California; Kay Robson, Ogden; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, and one sister. She was born May 25, 1981 to Craig L and Connie Brashier Pesek in Prosser Washington. She spent her childhood in Idaho and Utah. She graduated from Northridge High Class of 1999. Ashley had many obstacles to overcome and she burst through them like a champ. She had such an energy and loveable personality that she had made a large circle of friends throughout her short life. She worked at various places, Ogden Golf and Country Club, Trendwest, Vacation Connection, and most recently A.O.L. Ashley had alot of love for her very special sister Katie, Life, Frogs, sunflowers and yellow V.W. bugs. She recently acquired her own yellow Bug. She leaves behind her 2 loveable cats and a special dog friend. He was born December 1, 1935 to Errol and Eulalia Widmeyer. He married Eva Dillree and was later divorced; he married Marlene Buchanan; they later divorced. Ted attended school in Ogden, Utah. He served in the U.S. Army. Survivors include sons, Spencer and Teddy Jr. and daughter, Tammy; three grandchildren, one brother and four sisters. Services were held in Washington.
