She was born May 17, 1916, in Wellsville, Utah, to Joseph and Mabel Williams Green. She attended Cache Valley Schools. She married Evan G. Allen on September 20, 1940 and their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Evan preceded her in death. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in the Primary, as a Temple Worker and a visiting teacher. She had a great love for Cache Valley, mountains, flowers and her grandchildren. Surviving are three children, Sherlene (Arvid) Swift, Ogden; Linda Morgan, Ogden; Curt (Colleen) Allen, North Ogden; one brother, Roger Green, Wellsville; and one sister, Ethel Green, Ogden. She was preceded in death by eight beloved family members. Brueckner, Allen Herman Allen Herman BruecknerOGDEN - Allen Herman Brueckner was called home after 92 years and reunited with his sweetheart of 42 years on May 20, 2005. Allen Herman Brueckner was born March 13, 1913 in Hoskins, Wayne County, NE, and was raised and educated in Hoskins, Wayne County and in Clover Valley and Foster, Pierce County, NE, and was the 7th of 13 children of Herman and Hattie Miller Brueckner (formerly of Hoskins and Winside, Wayne County and Clover Valley and Foster, Pierce County, and Stanton County, NE.) Mr. Brueckner farmed and played baseball as a young man with his Brueckner and Miller relatives in Wayne and Pierce Counties, NE prior to serving in the CCC's in Oregon to help support his family during the depression of the 1930's. He then returned to NE to play minor league baseball and work for the railroad in NE, ID, WY, and UT. He gave up his Railroad deferment and joined the Army in 1943 leaving his newlywed wife Genett Tingey to serve his Country in the European Theatre with his four brothers. Mr. Brueckner served as both a paratrooper and later played a key role as SFCNCO with his unit that landed on Utah beach in Normandy on D4-Day. After WWII ended, he returned to his wife Genett Tingey Brueckner in Ogden, UT where they had and raised their family. He retired after a 45 year career working as a switchman for the UP & OUR&D Railroads where he also served as a lobbyist for the OUR&D Railroad Brotherhood. He celebrated his 43rd wedding anniversary on Sept. 18, 1985 with the former Genett Tingey Brueckner of Woodruff, UT prior to her death on Nov. 21, 1985. Mr. Brueckner lived life to the fullest after retirement by volunteering for a local kidney dialysis center, The Liberty Lobby, serving as a High Priest in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and supporting many worthy causes which included leading a Brueckner & Miller Family history project to honor and recognize the unmarked grave sites of his Grandparents and Siblings in CA & NE and identify all of his Grandparents descendants in the USA. Allen is survived by son, Robert (Bonnie) T. Brueckner of North Ogden, UT; daughter, Annette Brueckner of Pittsburgh, PA; son, Kevin T. Brueckner of Lakeside, CA; daughter, Jodi Lee (Earl R.) Bennett of San Antonio, TX; Son, Richard T. Brueckner of Ogden, UT; and eight grandchildren, sister, Dorothy Young of Norfolk, NE. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Genett, his parents, and 11 brothers and sisters. Day, Erik Kenneth Erik Kenneth Day PLEASANT VIEW - Erik Kenneth Day, 20, passed away at home on Wednesday, May 18, 2005 Erik was born February 20, 1985 and adopted by David and Cynthia (Johnson) Day. He attended Weber High School and graduated from the Weber Basin Job Corps. He enjoyed music, poetry and basketball. He was a computer whiz and had a knack for making his sisters laugh. Erik is survived by his parents; a brother, Andy Day; three sisters, Mariah, Olivia and Carolyn Day all of Pleasant View.; and his grandparents, Ken (Ruth) Johnson of Castle Valley, UT and Norma Day of Moab, UT. Also surviving is a special friend, Elizabeth Teters of Ogden and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Max Day. Our loving son, brother, father and friend was born August 17, 1959 in Ogden, Utah, the son of Neil C. and Joanne F. Swift Dodge. Ronnie graduated from Bonneville High School in 1978 and attended Weber State College, earning an Associates Degree in auto mechanics. He joined the Army in June 1978 to serve his Country. He received an Honorable Discharge in 1982. Ronnie was a friend to everyone he met. He was an avid mechanic. He loved to fix old cars, hunt, fish, trap shoot and camping. He loved spending time with his son. Ronnie had a true faith in God and always kept him in his heart. He leaves behind his parents Neil and Joanne Dodge, West Haven; one son Daniel Dodge, Ogden; one brother Keith Dodge, Ogden; two sisters Dawnette Rust (Shane) Hooper; Shelley Cowperthwaite (Rob) West Haven; nine nieces and nephews. Griffiths, Suzanne Tucker Suzanne Tucker Griffiths KAYSVILLE - Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend, Suzanne Tucker Griffiths, age 58, passed away May 19, 2005 in Kaysville, Utah after a brave and determined battle with colon cancer. She was born May 7, 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the third child of Cleon D. and Betty Jensen Tucker. She lived in many different parts of Utah including Bountiful, Hyrum, and Kaysville. She graduated from Skyview High School in the first graduating class. She married Brent H. Griffiths on May 20, 1966 in the Salt Lake Temple. Suzanne loved serving others and being with her family. She enjoyed cooking, reading and traveling with her husband and family. Some of her favorite places included Hawaii and the family cabin in Wyoming. She made the best hand dipped chocolates with her mother and she made any family party an event. She was a wonderful, caring wife and mother and a super grandmother. She was always concerned about her family and she loved them all very much. As a faithful, lifelong member of the LDS Church, she served in various callings including Relief Society President, Young Womens President and Primary President. She also served for many years as a docent at the Church Museum of History and Art where she was able to share her love of art and the gospel with others. Suzanne is survived by her husband Brent; four children, Julie (Alan) Clark, Alan (Heidi) Griffiths, Brian (Renee) Griffiths, Carrie Griffiths and her ten grandchildren, Jordan, McKenna, Tyson, Zachary, Alexa, Ryan, Tyler, Justin, Brianne and Allison. Higginson, Elda Mary Kley Elda Mary Kley Higginson Elda Mary Kley Higginson was called back to our Heavenly Father on May 19, 2005 after a lengthy and courageous battle with breast cancer. Elda was born July 25, 1924 in Charlo, Montana. Elda was the daughter of Louis William Kley and Mary Susan Howard. Elda was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She attended Weber High School and graduated in 1942. She worked at D.D.O. during World War II, and later married James G. Higginson on January 15, 1947 in Ogden, Utah. She spent the next 29 years as a devoted Navy wife in support of her husband. She was a loving and giving soul and made the sunshine for all people everywhere she went. She exemplified the very essence of charity and the pure love of Christ. She was everyones favorite. She is survived by her husband James, daughter Mary E. (Terry L.) Johnson. Also survived by her brother Dr. Jerry L. Shaw (Jana Rae) and children, sisters-in-law Beverly (Udy) and Josephine Kley. She was precede d in death by her parents, brothers Arthur L. Kley, Howard J. Kley, Paul L. Kley and sisters Verla A. Wilson and Ruth D. Waugh. She loved to travel and spend time with her family in Ogden. Howard, Eva Lorraine Marshall Eva Lorraine Marshall Howard MORGAN - On May 18, 2005 our mom made her final journey home. She was born July 19, 1927, a daughter of Virgil and Verda Sumpter Marshall. She is survived by her daughters, Rebecca (Richard) Lynch, Judy (Norris) Kippen, Dixie L. (Kenneth) Gagon, Terrie L. (Donald) Carlson and her son, Amasa Ray (Patty) Howard. Also surviving are 36 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Eva was a homemaker and had worked at K-Mart in Bountiful. Keener, Orville Floyd Orville Floyd KeenerSOUTH OGDEN - Orville Floyd Keener, 80, has returned home to a grand reunion this day due to complications of Alzheimer's. He was born April 22, 1925 in Yukon, Oklahoma, the 2nd son of Lawrence E. Keener and Alta Leota Shrum. Orville grew up in Oklahoma, served in the Navy in WWII. Upon his return he married Susie Jean Cary; together they had three children; they were later divorced. In 1954 he married Lois Sherry Goulding and together they raised his three children. This year they celebrated their 51st anniversary. He worked in the mines in Nevada; for Civil service at NAD Hawthorne, Nevada; SLC Parks Dept., and retired from Hill Air Force Base in 1987. Orville joined the LDS Church in 1964; he and Sherry were sealed in the Korean Temple in 1991. They loved to dance and had belonged to the Red Hot Square Dance Club. They spent four years in Okinawa, Japan, made lots of friends there, and enjoyed the Orient. He was a good husband and father. He loved to spend time with family and friends; he enjoyed bowling, camping, fishing and hunting. The one thing people noticed about him was his smile and generous heart; he loved to tease and had a good sense of humor. He will be forever missed by family and friends. Orville leaves behind his wife, Sherry; children, Debbie (Rolin) Phillips, Dwayne (Linda) Kenner and Dennis (Rhonda) Keener; brothers, Larry, Cecil (Christy) Keener, his sisters, Dee (Wayne) Weaver, Christina Keener and Marcella (Edward) Williams; a brother-in-law Don Donaca; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Phillips, Hugo Walter Hugo Walter PhillipsROY - Hugo Walter Phillips passed away at his home, Friday, May 20, 2005. He was born February 11, 1934 in Camden, New Jersey, the son of Andrew and Justine Phillips. Hugo attended Catholic schools in Camden prior to joining the Air Force in 1951. He served in Korea; was honorably discharged in 1955. Hugo married Rheta Paul in Great Falls, Montana on October 15, 1955. They lived in New Jersey and Montana prior to moving to Utah in 1965. Hugo worked as an aircraft mechanic at HAFB, retiring in 1983. He was a substitute teacher at the woodshop at Roy High School. He also worked for Northern Regal Homes Construction. He enjoyed camping, traveling, and all kinds of wood work. Hugo was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He was very proud of his family. Surviving are his wife, Rheta; children: Vickie Lee Jorgensen of Roy, Richard (Barbara) Phillips, West Weber, Ed (Lori) Phillips, Clinton, and Toby Phillips of Clarkston, UT; grandchildren: Cather ine J. Jorgensen (currently of Ft. Bliss, TX), Paul Jorgensen, Cliff (Bubba) Phillips, Trevor, Carly, Jonathan Phillips, Jessie Russell, and Marshall Russell, USMC; a brother, Robert (Kathy) Phillips, and two sisters, Marie Erdenski and Linda Gruber, and many nieces and nephews all of New Jersey. Stanger, Kaden Jackson Kaden Jackson Stanger SOUTH WEBER - Kaden Jackson Stanger, our hero, our perfect angel, returned to his Heavenly Father, May 19, 2005 after a six year battle with brain cancer. It was such a blessing to have him home in the arms of his parents, surrounded by many who loved him when he left behind his earthly struggles and ascended into the arms of his Heavenly Father. Kaden was born on Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 1993, to his devoted parents Cody and Denette Stanger. During his 11 years with us he was a shining example of faith, courage and love. He is adored by his three little brother's and best friends, Colton, Jaxon and Mason. The bond between these four sweet boys is unbreakable. Kaden will be so deeply missed by everyone, especially his many cousins, aunts, uncles, and his loving grandparents, Fred and Joanne Stanger and Kathie Merrill. Our Little Tater Bug loved many things in this life, especially Nintendo, Pokeman and Harry Potter. He enjoyed fishing, going to the cabin, sc outing and Primary. Kaden loves his Savior and was looking forward to becoming a Deacon and going to the Temple. Kaden has many friends at his school, South Weber Elementary, where he was in the 5th grade. Kaden was so proud to have taken hunter safety classes with his Dad, where he earned his blue card. No words can do justice to the extraordinary life Kaden lived. He is the perfect son, brother, cousin, grandson, nephew and friend. He touched so many lives. You will never leave us sweetheart. You will live on in our hearts and memories forever. We love you so deeply sweet, Kade, and are privileged to be your eternal family. We cannot wait to be with you again. Joyce had fought pulmonary fibrosis for nearly five years. The disease made it progressively more difficult for her to breath. She lost her husband, Leonard, after 59 years of marriage just three years ago. Joyce is survived by her three sons, William (Kathy West), Paul (Pam Walters) and James (Eve West), all with families of their own that will dearly miss their mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Joyce and her family had resided in Roy, Utah since 1957. She recently moved to an apartment in Salt Lake City to be closer to family. Joyce was born in Tooele, Utah on January 11, 1925. She grew up there with her mother, brothers and sister, without a father, who had passed away when Joyce was a little girl. She met the love of her life, Leonard, while attending Tooele High School. They married while Leonard was serving in the Army Air Corps during World War Two. The ir life together before family in the Army, involved traveling extensively throughout the United States as Leonard was transferred from base to base. After a short time in Pioche, Nevada in the early 1950's, where Leonard worked as an engineer for a mining operation, they returned to their old hometown of Tooele in 1953. Adding the last two boys to her family in Tooele, her family moved to the Ogden area for a year and eventually to Roy in 1957. Joyce took on extra jobs to help with finances while living in Roy. In addition to her job as mother, homemaker and spouse, she worked at a canning factory and for the IRS. Her energy was never ending. She put forth this energy for the love of her family. Joyce's family will forever remember her as one who always sacrificed for the benefit of her husband and her sons. They will miss her. Leonard referred to Joyce as "Petunia". To her sons, she was just Mom. Mom, we love you. Yoshimura ROY - Sumiye Miya Yoshimura, 76, passed away Friday, May 20, 2005, of congestive heart failure, at the Country Garden Home surrounded by her loving family, brothers, sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews and friends. Sumi was born January 18, 1929 in Ogden, Utah, a daughter of Gensaku and Tsugi Miya. She was educated in Ogden and graduated from Weber High where she met Daiiche "Dai", and attended Weber State College. On November 22, 1953, she married "Dai" Yoshimura in Ogden, and lived in Roy. She was an active member of the Ogden Buddhist Church and Buddhist Women's Association (Fujinkai). Besides working the farm, Sumi worked at IRS before working at Hill Air Force Base, where she retired after 28 years. Sumi was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she especially adored her grandchildren, whom she loved and very, VERY much spoiled. She loved gardening, raising vegetables for their produce stand, bowling, trips to Wendover, sewing and especially cook ing for her family, relatives and dear friends. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her. Sumi is survived by her husband; son, Blaine (Suzan) Yoshimura, Kaysville; daughters, Patsy (Ron) Shintani, California; Debbie Yoshimura, Roy; Robyn (Bart) Hirabayashi, Syracuse; six grandchildren, Justin, Kristin, Melissa, Daley, Bryson and Colton. Also surviving are her sister Miyoko (George) Shibata, California; and brother, Masami (Kyoko) Miya, Roy. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Uji and Buster Miya.
