She was born August 7, 1916 in Paul, Idaho, the daughter of Samuel James and Luella Simpson Moore. She married Harold Jesse Byington on October 12, 1939 in Ogden, Utah. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Hooper 10th Ward. Harold and Vonda were raised in Hooper, where they raised their children. They had been married 65 years. Vonda loved to crochet and made hundreds of afghans, baby shawls, hot pads and pillows for friends and family. Her family adored her and she loved them. She is survived by her husband Harold, children: Dennis H. (Fran) Byington, Bonnie L. (Stanley) Kiphart, both of Hooper, UT; Yvonne (Jack) Stakebake, Richmond, UT; 13 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving brothers and sisters Josephine Lloyd, Ogden, UT; Margaret Byington, Hooper, UT; Vern W. Moore; Hooper, UT; Lue Colter, Clinton, UT; sisters-in-law Melva Moore, Hooper, UT; and Cleone Moore, Roy, UT. She was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers Charles Moore, George Moore and Henry Moore. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 27, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Hooper 10th Ward, 4675 West 5500 South. Friends and family may call on Thursday at Myers Mortuary in Roy, 5865 South 1900 West from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Friday at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Clukey, Robert Paul Robert (Bob) Clukey Robert Paul Clukey, loving husband, father and grandfather, 73, died Saturday, May 21st. He was born Feb. 22, 1933 in Bangor, Maine, the son of George Francis and Francis Ethel LeClair Clukey. He married Katherine Petersen on Dec. 30th, 1988 in Ogden, UT. Bob lived in Boston, Mass. and Ogden, UT. He was a member of the Catholic church. He served 28 years as a marine in the military, and retired from Ogden Defense Depot. He worked part time at Weber County Human Services. Bob enjoyed cookouts with his family and raising his two pugs, Pepe and Emmett. He loved his family unconditionally and will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife Katherine, three sons and seven daughters, Mike (Tammy) Stark, Larry (Louella) Stark, Terry (Dale) Petersen, Diane (Brent) Hadley, Jeanie (Mike) Straight, Sandy Gillespie, Kathy (Bill) Storey, Karen Stevenson and Sharon Bracken, Susie (Richard) Cottrell. Wanda was born September 11, 1918 to William and Janet Watson Oliverson. Wanda Oliverson married Donald C. Jones on January 9, 1937; their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple. Wanda had many jobs in her life, she drove a taxi during World War II, worked at Hill Field, Defense Depot Ogden, and a doctor's office, but the job she loved most was waitressing, she loved to talk and always had a joke. She taught a waitressing class for many years. She went to Yuma, AZ with Dad for 18 years and she loved to golf and travel. Wanda leaves three children, Dorothy Christiansen, Roger Donald (Diane) Jones, Shanna Dean (George) Fink, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband Donald C. Jones; a son-in-law; two brothers, two sisters-in-law; and three grandchildren. Mother lived at Emeritus Estates for two years a nd made many friends there. Olsen, Barbara Wood Barbara Wood Olsen OGDEN, UTAH - Barbara Wood Olsen, wife, mother, grandma, great-grandmother, and partner for 63 years died Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at her home at 11:05 a.m. She was 82 years old. Barbara was born in Smithfield, Utah and enjoyed doing geneology work for her and her family over the many years. She was born to Milton and Zelda Wood who preceded her in death. Surviving is her husband Warren L. Olsen, her sons Roger W. And Jeffrey W. Olsen, six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Graveside services are at noon on Saturday, May 28, at Smithfield City Cemetery, 400 East Center St., Smithfield. Parker, Ralph Ralph "Tex" Parker A Real Cowboy Tex Parker, age 82, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2005, due to complications incident to age, in Sandy, Utah. Tex was born in Holbrook, Idaho to his parents, Ralph and Tressa Reeser Parker. Married Faye Price of Samaria, Idaho, April 18, 1941. Tex lived in Holbrook, Idaho until the age of II. At that time, Tex, his brother Bud, and their Dad rode horseback for 10 days, to Erda, Utah, driving a herd of horses and pulling a wagon with the family belongings. The Parkers lived in the Tooele Valley, until, their family moved to the Granite area in 1938, where he and many family members have since resided. He is survived by his children, Clark (Annie) Logan; Zane (Marion), Vancouver, Washington; Tonya (Doug) Thorpe, Malad, Idaho; Penny (Louis) Hepworth, Centerville; Tim (Lana), Wendell, Idaho; Larry, Naples, Florida; Jilleen (Grant) Marchant, Sandy. 33 grandchildren, 41 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Bud, Zane, Smith; sisters, Audrey and Zepha. Also many other extended family members and friends. Preceded in death, by his wife, Faye, parents, Sister Ivy, and brothers, Marriot, Cody, and grandson, Shane. Tex was an accomplished Farrier, Musician, Brick Mason and Ballroom dancer. Dad's sense of humor, infectious laugh, beautiful voice, and his many "stories" will be missed. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of his family. The family is grateful to the friends and staff at Bountiful house for their love and care this past year and so many other friends and neighbors who have cared for Dad. Shields, 58, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2005 after a 4-plus year battle with cancer. He was born on September 18, 1946 in Ogden to Rudolph Vernon Shields and Fern Poulsen Shields. Jeff graduated from Weber High School and attended Weber State College. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force as a photographer in January 1966 and served in Vietnam. After his enlistment, he worked at the FBI Headquarters Laboratory in Washington, D.C. where he was also assigned to the FBI Director's office as official photographer to J. Edgar Hoover and his successors. While in the position as the FBI director's official photographer, he photographed the President of the United States, the Attorney General and members of Congress. Later, he transferred to the FBI Academy in Quantico, VA and started a Photographic Department in support of the new academy complex when it was finished in 1974. He taught photographic theory and the use of surveillance equipment to new agent training classes. He was the cinematographer on two FBI films and worked on the final editing and production for them at Warner Brothers Studios in Burbank, CA. In 1977, Jeff transferred to the Naval Training Center in Orlando, FL and was assigned as a Contracting Officers Technical Representative to several developmental and media production contractors around the United States while being based in Salt Lake City. In 1981, he transferred to the Air Force and managed media production activities at Hill AFB, UT; Robins AFB, GA; the Air Force Intelligence Command at Kelly AFB, TX; and at Randolph AFB, TX. Jeff was a member of technology advisory boards for military and intelligence activities. In August 1973, Jeff married Carolyn Hoffman, who also worked at FBI Headquarters. They divorced after 20 years of marriage and remarried again in 2004. Jeff is survived by his wife, Carolyn, of Valmeyer, IL; their daughters, Kathryn Shields of San Marcos, TX and Karen Shields of Austin, TX; a grandson, C.J. Eichenlaub; a brother, Rick (Jenny) Shields of Aloha, OR; and several nieces and nephews. Jeff was a member of the Plain City 2nd LDS Ward where he was a High Priest. Besides the deep love he had for his family, he sincerely loved and appreciated all of his approximately 200 relatives and felt like each one was a special friend. Many of them gave him much help and support during the last days of his life. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 26th, at 11 a.m. at the Plain City 2nd Ward Chapel at 2952 No. 4200 West, Plain City. Wallace OGDEN - Maxine Jeanette Lange Wallace, 85, died Saturday, May 21, 2005 in Ogden. She was born October 30, 1919 in Genessee, Idaho, a daughter of Sam and Clara Hanson Lange. Maxine met Austin Wallace in Twin Falls, Idaho where they were both school teachers. They were married June 15, 1942 in Genessee, Idaho. Following their marriage they lived in Burley, Idaho for 18 years. They moved to Ogden where they lived the remainder of their lives. Austin preceded her in death on May 19, 2002. She was a very active member of the Presbyterian Church in Burley, Idaho and Ogden, and served as Deacon. She was the Christian Education Coordinator and an Officer of the Presbyterian Women. She was also a member of the P.E.O. She loved her involvement with her Bridge Club and Book Club. Maxine also loved working in her garden and supporting the Arts. She enjoyed hiking, golfing and many other outdoor activities. Surviving are two sons, James (Chris) Wallace, Indio, CA; Kurt (Joha nna) Wallace, Ogden; three grandchildren, Jeanne Wojciechowski, Leigh Ann Wallace, Ann Maxine Wallace, and three great-grandchildren, Ande, Trevor and Sophie.
