Steven L. MarshST. GEORGE - Steven L. Marsh, 57, returned home to his Heavenly Father on May 19, 2005 in St. George, Utah after a courageous fight from complications due to surgery. He was born in Brigham City, Utah to Loris (Tebe) Marsh and Joyce Poulsen on February 23, 1948. His family moved to Washington Terrace, Utah in 1953 where he attended elementary, junior high, and Bonneville High. He enlisted in the Army where he received his GED and numerous other certifications in small engine repairs. He served in Vietnam from 1965 to 1968. He was discharged in 1971. Steve married Allyson Giesler and they were later divorced. Paths crossed with the love of his life in 1976 when he stopped to assist her with car repairs. Lauri Helms Barrow and Steve were married on November 12, 1978. He worked in the family construction business for ten years. He always said he liked playing in sand pile 1 and 2. Over the next 25 years he worked for various excavating and truck driving companies. His l ove was driving the Backhoe. He was last employed with Quality Excavation in St. George, Utah. He was this generation's Grizzly Adams. Fishing was his stress reliever and he loved camping and hunting. His love of the outdoors has been passed down to his children and grandchildren. His greatest accomplishment in life was to raise his family and love his grandchildren with all his heart. He will be missed very much. He is survived by his wife Lauri of St. George, UT. Seven children, Lori (Evan) Hill of Stansbury Park, UT, Shane (Jeannie) Marsh and Brady (Heather) Marsh of Fielding, UT, Raenee (Rodney) Schurtz of Hurricane, UT, Justin (Brandy) Marsh of Redmond, UT, Heather (Cody) Nielsen and Cody Marsh of St. George, UT. He is also survived by his mother Joyce P. Marsh of Washington Terrace, UT. Six brothers and sisters, Michael (Linda) Marsh of North Ogden, UT, Marcia (Robert/Bob) Wanner of Great Falls, MT, Kenneth Marsh of Ogden, UT, Barbara (Larry Newland) Marsh of Roy, UT, Patricia Ch ristensen of Washington Terrace, UT, and Kathleen (Dennis/DJ) Streeval of Farr West, UT. 20 precious grandchildren, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, and mother-in-law. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 24 in St. George at the Snow Canyon LDS 7th Ward Chapel. Interment was at the Tonaquint Veterans Memorial Cemetery in St. George with full Military honors. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.metcalfmortuary.com. Olsen, Barbara Wood Barbara Wood Olsen OGDEN, UTAH - Barbara Wood Olsen, wife, mother, grandma, great-grandmother, and partner for 63 years died Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at her home at 11:05 a.m. She was 82 years old. Barbara was born in Smithfield, Utah and enjoyed doing geneology work for her and her family over the many years. She was born to Milton and Zelda Wood who preceded her in death. Surviving is her husband Warren L. Olsen, her sons Roger W. And Jeffrey W. Olsen, six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Graveside services are at noon on Saturday, May 28, at Smithfield City Cemetery, 400 East Center St., Smithfield. A viewing will be held at 10:30 to 11:30 prior to services at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center St., Logan. Condolences may be extended to the family at the guest book at www.allenmortuaries.net. Wood WALLA WALLA, Washington - Patricia Cummins Wood, 76, former Ogden, Utah, resident died Wednesday May 25, 2005, at her home. She was born Dec. 31, 1928, in Davenport, Iowa, a daughter of George M. and Edna Eckstein Cummins. She graduated from Villa de Chantel High School, Rock Island, Illinois, and came to Ogden in 1961. She had lived in Walla Walla, Washington for the past 4 years. Pat married John A. Wood on April 14, 1956, in Rock Island, Ill. He died in November 1974. She had been a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Ogden. Surviving are one son and one daughter, David H. Wood, Salt Lake City, and Christine A. (Cliff) Tarvin, Waitsburg, Wash.; seven grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Funeral mass will be held Saturday, May 28, 2005, at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
