Refugio was born July 4, 1912 in Tlahualilo, Durango, Mexico to Jose and Antonia Rivera. He is survived by his loving wife, Carmen Rivera of Ogden; three sons, Gilberto, Tomas and Jose angel Rivera; three daughters, Eugenia, Margarita, and Reyna; 20 grandchildren, Raul, Lorenzo, Maria, Hilda, Angelica, Mayra, Gilberto, Carlos, Luis, Angel, Lorenzo, Francisca, Eduardo, Deny, Luis, Eduardo, Alfredo, Liliana, Rosa and Patricia as well as numerous close great-grandchildren. Roskelley Friday, October 7, 2005 July 22, 1918 - Sept. 27, 2005 After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Dean passed away peacefully at his home with family by his side. He was born and raised in Brigham City, Utah to Ella and Charles Roskelley. Dean was the adored husband of Joyce, loving father to Barbara Langford of New Orleans and Scot Roskelley of Chicago; stepfather to Jeri Opalk, Mike Noble, Pamela Nicholson and the late Linda Sandoval. Grandfather to 11, great-grandfather to 14 and great-great-grandfather to two. He was survived by his brother Lowell Roskelley and his sister Mary Caruth of Ogden, Utah. He was preceded in death by his first wife Joy, his parents, his brothers, Rigby and Edward Roskelley and his sister Eunice Carn. Dean married Joy Sorenson in 1938. Joy preceded him in death in 1982. He married Joyce Noble in July, 1983. He was a volunteer at the Help- 4-People Food Bank in Paradise for many years, an active member of the Paradise Ridge Lions Club, and a member of the Paradise Elks Lodge. Family and friends gathered at his home to honor his memory on Thursday, September 29,2005. At his request, no other services will be held. Dean was respected for his kindness, personal integrity and work ethic. He cherished his family and friends and was devoted to his dogs. Dean was much loved, and will always be in hour hearts. Geraldine Ann Fasig Friday, October 7, 2005 Geraldine Ann Fasig, age 69, passed away on October 2, 2005. She was born on October 28, 1935 to Ruby and Steven Macekyo in Cardington, Ohio. She married Paul Fasig and resided in Pennsylvania where the first three of their six children were born. Paul Fasig of Brigham City, Robert Fasig (Deceased) and Donald Fasig (Debbie) of Kentucky. They moved to Utah in 1965 where the girls were born. Mary Fasig of Clearfield, Sue Leon (Danny) and Cindy Lowder (Jeff) of Roy. Her husband Paul died in1972, leaving Jeri to raise the six children by herself. She was employed at Hill Air Force Base for 38 years. She gained a group of wonderful and loving friends throughout her career. She retired in October 1990. After retiring she volunteered at Ogden Regional Medical Center. And in her words "I love volunteering, there is a lot of self satisfaction out of helping others". In 2002 Jeri was awarded the Governor's Point of Light Award for her many years of service. She enjoyed spending time with her volunteer friends, comforting patients, decorating the hospital for the holidays and working in the gift shop. Jeri was a devoted lifetime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Jeri's dedication to her family was one that can not be explained. She was a sideline cheerleader at all of the boys little league football games. The mom that always said you did a great job when the girls played softball and LOST. She supported her children by being a member of the PTA, Room Mother and St. Joseph's Booster Club. If there is one thing we can say about our mother is that she NEVER missed one of our games. She was our biggest fan. If you knew Jeri you loved her. She had a heart of pure gold and she was a walking angel. She loved her 12 grandchildren. They were the light of her eye. She bragged about them to her friends. So much so they knew them without even meeting them. She enjoyed their sporting events, school programs, playing school with them or just watching cartoons. The grandchildren have not lost their grandmother; they have gained a wonderful guardian angel. Jeri enjoyed watching the Utah Jazz and Notre Dame Football. Say Hello to Knute Rockne She will be great missed by her family and many friends, but she will never be forgotten. A rrangement under the direction of Aaron's Mortuary & Crematory, 1600 Washington Blvd. Raymond Lamar Bean Friday, October 7, 2005 LAGUNA HILLS, CALIFORNIA - Raymond Lamar Bean, 85, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2005 of natural causes. Ray was born May 17, 1920 in Evanston, Wyoming, the son of Frances Armstrong Bean and Nellie Wilkinson Bean. He was raised in Evanston with two brothers and three sisters. Following high school graduation, Ray joined the Army Air Corps and served as a bomber and glider pilot during World War II. Ray married Edythe Elizabeth Bean July 5, 1945 in Cleveland, Ohio. Ray and his family were stationed in France during the Korean War. Following active military service Ray and his family settled in Sunset and Roy, Utah where he worked as a civilian at Hill Air Force Reserve for 21 years. With declining health, Ray moved to Laguna Hills, California in 1999, where he continued to be an active member of the Lutheran church. He also continued his enjoyment of traveling with friends at the Leisure World Community. Surviving are Ray's daughter, Barbara Heitz, son-in-law Jim Heitz and granddaughter Nicole Heitz of Laguna Niguel, California. Also surviving is Ray's sister, Miriam Albrecht of Evanston, Wyoming. Ray was preceded in death by his wife Edythe, brothers Charles Bean and George Bean and sisters Francis Turner and Beth Bean. The interment will be held at Lindquist's Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. A family memorial will be held following interment. Grace Alberta Adkins Gregory Friday, October 7, 2005 WEST POINT - Grace Alberta Adkins Gregory, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2005, at her granddaughter's home in West Point, surrounded by her family. She was born January 6, 1910 in Cabool, Missouri, a daughter of John Harrison and Lula Sarah Abbott Adkins. Her father passed away before she was born and she was given to friends of her parents, John and Sarah Hamby to raise and to love as their own. On August 25, 1927, Grace married Harlan C. Gregory. They started their married life in Missouri and then moved to Osborne, Kansas in 1942. Grace devoted her life and love to caring for her four children. When the children were old enough to be in school she went to work along side her husband who was a meat cutter. She wrapped meat for several years before joining the cooking staff at a local hospital, a job she loved as she was a wonderful cook. Upon retiring in 1972, she and Harley moved to West Point, Utah to be near their son and daughter and their families. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed her calling as Librarian and served in that position for several years. She also was a devoted and faithful visiting teacher. However, her greatest pleasure was the Genealogical Library in Salt Lake doing research and as a result many family names have been found. During this time she made many friends and met relatives she never dreamed of having. Grace enjoyed needlework, making clothing for her family and crocheting beautiful memories for all of her family. In the last years of her life she hand made quilts for all of her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her three daughters, Betty Ruth Hanks, Poplar Bluff, Missouri; Norma Jean (Don) Pesnell, West Point; and Velma June (Dale) Kelling, Satanta, Kansas; her daughter-in-law, Donna Gregory, Clinton, Utah; 23 grandchildren; 70 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marjory Taylor, Holton, Kansas. She is preceded in death by her husband, a son, William Harlan Gregory and a son-in-law, Bill Hanks, six sisters and one brother. The family would like to express our love and appreciation for the care our Mother received at the Heritage Park Care Center following her hip fracture. Upon discharge she received care and support from Legacy Hospice. With Special thanks and appreciation going to Rhonda CNA, Robyn RN, Joey CNA, Alora RN and all the others of the supporting staff who showed us much love through out this difficult time. Funeral services will be held Monday October 10th at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist's Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. Betty June Mazza Friday, October 7, 2005 Betty June Mazza, 83, pazzed away September 25, 2005 in Ogden, Utah. She was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on June 27, 1922 to Loyette Densmore Hattan. She married Mike Sam Mazza August 27, 1942 in Los Angeles, California. Mike Passed away March 13, 1990. She retired from Hewlett Packard of Escondidio, California. Betty is survived by sons Alex (Gail) of Grand Terrace, CA, Tony (Claudia) of Ogden, Rick (Esther) of Reno, and daughter Maralyn of Ogden, eleven grandchildren 14 great grandchildren and one on the way, and also, close friend and part of the family Marilyn Mazza. She was preceded in death by son, Peter. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2005 at St. Joseph's Church, 514 24th Street, Ogden, Ut. Lee (Bob) Strong, age 81, passed peacefully away Oct. 4 ; surrounded by his wife of fifty-seven years, Carolyn C. Petty, and all of his eight children. Born March 4, 1924, the first child of Ervin G. Strong and Vera Kenner. Bob grew up in Logan and later Ogden, before over forty years in Springville. Funeral services will be held at the Hobble Creek West Stake Center in Springville at 1:00 pm on Friday, Oct. 7. The service will be preceded by a viewing from 10:00 am to 12 noon. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery. Wanda Cordes Friday, October 7, 2005 Layton - Wanda Louise White Cordes was born July 22, 1944. She passed away October 5, 2005 at the young age of 61. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jesse Mae White and a daughter, Teri Jane Cordes. Survivors include her husband, Charles Cordes of Layton; 2 brothers, Terry White of Mesa, AZ., and Wayne White of Oklahoma; 4 sisters, Georgie Lindee, Margie Pena, and Wilma Smith, all of Arizona, and Hazel White of Iowa. She had four sons, Danny, Nick, James Butters, all of Salt Lake City, and Rico Cordes of Latyon; 2 daughters, Mary Butters and Cindy Jablonsky, both of Las Vegas; 18 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
