Gene died Friday, October 14, 2005 following surgery at the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City. He is a graduate of Grand Junction High School in Colorado, he briefly attended Mesa Junior College before enlisting in the Navy in 1951. He completed Dental Training and spent four years attached to the USMCRD in San Diego. After an honorable discharge he came to Ogden, Utah and owned and operated the Mt. Lomond Cafe with his family. He briefly attended Weber State College where he was hired by the Coca- Cola Company as a Fountain Territory Manager. He filled assignments in Boise, Idaho and Ogden, Utah. Gene married Phyliss Wheelwright Smalley on June 14, 1958. Shortly thereafter he was transferred to Albuquerque, New Mexico. In 1965 he transferred to Bottler Sales in San Antonio and then returned to Albuquerque as General Manager of Albuquerque Coca-Cola Bottle Company. In 1967 he returned to the Coca-Cola Company in Atlanta, Georgia, in the New Products and Packaging Department. After numerous assignments he was named National Merchandising Manager where he initiated the Market Impact and Space Execution Teams and the Sales Management Institute. He was named a Vice-President in 1976 and the VP of New Business Development worldwide in 1978 for the Coca- Cola Company. After extensive world wide assignments he returned to his real love of Operations and in 1979 was named President and Vice Chairman of the Board of 18 Coca- Cola Operations in Washington, Oregon, and Northern California. In 1988 he took early retirement from Coca- Cola and went into ranching for a brief period before forming a consulting company contracted to Coca-Cola for numerous assignments in Japan and Latin America. In 1995 health concerns ended his career. M r. Richardson is survived by his wife, Phyliss; two stepsons, John Smalley, Atlanta, GA; Jerry Smalley, Orlando, FL ; five grandchildren; three sisters, Shirley Rizley, Carol Bingham, and Sharon Richardson, all of Ogden; a brother, Glen Richardson, Sacramento; and 15 nieces and nephews. The family wishes in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the Huntsman Cancer Institute. Graveside services will be held Monday, October 17th at 1 p.m. at Ogden City Cemetery, Ogden, Utah. Cremation under the direction of Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary. Geraldine Buckley Kelly Monday, October 17, 2005 NORTH OGDEN Geraldine Geri Kelly, 79, died Thursday, October 13, 2005 at her home after a long battle with cancer. She was born June 15, 1926 in Salt Lake City, Utah, a daughter of Harry and Marietta Buckley. On December 20, 1945 she married Edward F. Kelly in Brigham City. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Edward preceded her in death on September 17, 1978. Geri was a member of the North Ogden 9th Ward. She held many positions in the LDS church. She served a temple mission in Australia, and as a guide on Temple Square. Geri was a professional artist, a board member for Senior Citizen, and member of The Palette Club. She enjoyed golf and was an author and illustrator for the childrens book, Goose Fables. Geri was a seeker of truth. Her greatest challenge was to answer the questions, Who am I? and, Where am I going? Her answers have led her to a simple belief of living the scripture, Man is that he might have joy. This kind of joy comes from unconditional love. She wanted the best for everyone, better than they could ever imagine. Surviving are three sons, Scott Kelly, North Ogden; Kirk Kelley, Layton; Brad B. Kelley, Eden; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Betty Buckley of Aspen, CO. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward F. Kelly; her parents Harry and Marietta Buckley; sister, Barbara Lambson; brother Jack Buckley; and son Robert Kelly. The family expresses their thanks to special neighbors and friends, Valora Parry, Charlotte Bromley, Gloria and Richard Myers, Billie Gifford, Heidi Gunderson, and Applegate Hospice. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2005 at 1 p.m. at Myers Mortuary Chapel in Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd. Friends may call on Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the mortuary. Elsie Barnard Heusser Monday, October 17, 2005 Elsie Barnard Heusser, 84, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2005 at the Bear River Valley Hospital in Tremonton. She was born July 24, 1921 in Deweyville, Utah, the daughter of John Porter and Lavinia Orme Barnard. She married Raymond Heusser on September 4, 1940 in the Salt Lake LDS temple. Raymond passed away January 25, 2000. Elsie graduated from Bear River High School. She also attended Utah State University. She lived in Deweyville except for a short time in Bear River City and the last 5 months at Peachtree Assisted Living in Tremonton. She was employed at Sego Milk, Mayfair Market and Smiths and retired from IRS. She treasured her friendships made at IRS. Elsie was a beautiful seamstress and loved to crochet and quilt. She was always game for a trip to Wendover. Elsie enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. Christmas was a special time at the Heusser house. Elsie was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints Deweyville Ward. She enjoyed working with her friend Norma Haycock as Work Day Leader and with Beverly Norr on the ward bulletin. She is survived by her children, Porter Ray (Linda) Heusser, Kaysville; Val Joseph (Cathy) Heusser, North Logan; Diane (Chuck) Christensen, Tremonton; grandchildren, Lisa (Jeff), Shawn (Paula), Rebecca (Mike), Scott (Stephanie), Jeff (Angie), Jennifer (Brandon), Valerie Jo (Jared), Jenny, Jimmy, Bryan, Caleb, Jared (Amber), Heather (Rich), Stacy (Scott), Zachary, Darcie; great-grandchildren, Brock, Kiley, Hunter, Brady, Emma, Jaynie, Jaxon, Hayden, Tate, Hannah, Makaya, Deven, Gracie, Julian, Elise Rae, and two more on the way; sister-inlaw, Louise Lorig; brother-in-law, Maurice Fowers; daughter-in-law Carol Ann; numerous nieces and nephews. Interment in the Deweyville Cemetery. Burton Reed Webb Monday, October 17, 2005 KAYSVILLE - Burton Reed Webb, 89, passed away Friday, October 14, 2005, at Davis North Medical Center. Just last month he was diagnosed with cancer, which took him much sooner than anyone expected. He was born December 2, 1915, in Lehi, Utah, to Eli J. and Daisy Austin Webb. He was raised and educated in Lincoln/Idaho Falls, Idaho, graduating from Idaho Falls High school. He graduated from Utah State University with a degree in Business and an emphasis in Statistics. On November 14, 1970, Burton married Jane Hooper. They would have celebrated 35 years together next month. He worked for U & I Sugar for over 30 years and as the finance clerk for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for 22 years. He spent his retirement years working in his yard and garden and watching his two grandchildren, Dakota Criswell and Brielle Webb, whom they fondly called Poppy. Burton is survived by his wife, Jane; a son, Brian (Michele) Webb, two daughters, Cindy Criswell, Tammy Oliver; and step-children, Sherrie (Lance) Hunting, Bob (Sharon) Ross, Kevin (Ann) Ross, Shawnee Ross; 24 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, more than you can count on fingers and toes. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Helen Kingery, Marjorie Hatch, and two brothers, Earl and Morris Stanley Webb. Edward J. Dean Monday, October 17, 2005 Together Again OGDEN - Good Morning! Being of sound mind and shaky body I have chosen to accept the offer that cannot be refused. Therefore, I invite all to rejoice in my life. A life that began on Jan. 5, 1928, in Ely, Nevada, because I wanted to be close to my parents, Raymond R. Dean & Anna M. Green. I was given one great gift, to be given to our eight children, that gift is that through the Lord, I loved their mother. Ed married Mary J. Muehe on June 21, 1952, in Seattle, Washington. She died Jan. 10, 2002 . He had lived in Ogden for 70 years and had been employed as an industrial photographer for the Boeing Co. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, where he was active in numerous and various positions in the church. He was a US Navy veteran. Surviving are six sons and two daughters, Bart (Kathy) Dean, Tulsa, Oklahoma; Dennis Dean, Ogden; James (Mary) Dean, Everett, Washington; Patrick (Jina) Dean, Ogden; Timothy (Deana) Dean, Arlington, Washington; John Paul (Elaina) Dean, Shoreline, Washington; Rayanna M. Dean, Ogden; Nannette T. Dean, Vashon Island, Washington; 21 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; one brother, Gerald L. Dean, Salt Lake City. Cody Dan Carver Monday, October 17, 2005 PEORIA, Arizona - Cody Dan Carver, 24, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2005. He was born on September 28, 1981, in Ogden , Utah a beautiful fall day, the son of Dan and Cindy Clark Carver. Cody graduated from Roy High school in 2000 and was currently attending Arizona State University. He was employed as an accountant. Cody wanted to be a CPA after he graduated from ASU. Cody was the happiest when he was with his family fishing, hunting and camping. He loved being outdoors, football and baseball. He was smart, athletic and kind to everyone, and especially protective of his sister. He loved all of his friends and family with all of his heart, they were what mattered most in his life. He always had a hug for everyone. He is survived by his parents; a sister, Amanda Carver; his grandparents, George and June Carver, Kenneth and Deloris Halling, Billy and Norma Clark; his aunts and uncles, Johnny Clark, Connie Beard, Angie (Matthew) Hansen, Judy (Boyd) Bambrough, Allan (Jackie) Carver, Val (Becky) Carver, Terry (Denice) Carver, Bruce (Diane) Carver; and many cousins. DeOna Miner Rasmussen Monday, October 17, 2005 OGDEN - DeOna Miner Rasmussen, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2005 in her home. She was born August 24, 1941 in Payson, Utah, a daughter of Charles D. and Elmina Johnson Miner. She married Ervin Hal Rasmussen on June 11, 1994 in Roy, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Bountiful LDS Temple. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints, where she served in many church callings. She especially enjoyed the sharing of her knowledge. Her greatest joy is time spent with her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. DeOna is survived by her husband Ervin of Ogden; sons and daughters, Ray Hardy; Monique Duncan; Travis Hardy; Lutia Barber; Becki Palmer; Wanda Patterson; step-children: Brenda Hamilton; Jon Johnson; Jeff Johnson; Charles Peavy; Tracey Peavey; Terri Harrington; Tami Carnahan and Toni Jonas. Also surviving are one brother and five sisters; 34 grandchildren and 20 greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Susan Baldwin, one step-daughter Tina Wayman, two brothers and two sisters. Graduate of Davis High School class of 1942. Served in the U.S. Army in WWII. Co-owner and partner of France Service Garage. Married Leona Louise Hogan, July 31, 1949. Later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Member of the National Rifle Association, Utah Poultry Association, Boy Scouts of America, Centerville Small Arms Association, President of Centerville Lions Club. Longtime farmer and rancher. Decendent of Centerville Utah pioneers. Longtime member of the Centerville LDS First Ward. Member of the Lyman Wyoming LDS Third Ward. Current member of the Clinton LDS Sixth Ward. Survived by his wife of 56 years, Leona Hogan France, Clinton, UT; two sons, Richard H. France (Annette), Lyman, WY. and Michael H. France, Cedar City, UT; two daughters, Rosemary Beynon (Kert), SLC, UT, and LuAnn France Morris, Bountiful, UT; 15 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marleen Dansie (Jay), Layton, UT. and Ethlyn Harker (Keith), Eugene, OR; and many nieces and nephews.
