He was born December 1, 1923 in Goshen, Utah, the son of Leonard Deloy and Hazel Sorensen Cook. He married Pauline Virginia Winstead on December 16, 1947 in Canyon, Texas. Stanford served in the Marines during WW II and completed a career of 20 years, retiring in 1963. Following his military service he began employment with DDO and retired after 23 years. He was a charter member of Good Sam's Club and Utah Trailblazers. Stanford loved to hunt, fish, loved his dogs and cars. Surviving are his wife Polly Cook of Roy; children Todd A. (Sandra) Cook of Roy and Galynn Jacobs of Englewood, Colorado; seven grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren, also surviving is a brother Rex (Lillian) Cook of Meeker, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Eunice Jolley, and son-in-law Michael Jacobs. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Myers Mortuary in Roy, 5865 South 1900 West. Friends may call on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Staton Thursday, October 20, 2005 OGDEN - George R. Staton, 82, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 17, 2005 at South Davis Community Hospital in Bountiful. He was born February 27, 1923 in Hollis, Oklahoma, a son of Gillem A. and Alice F. Fairchild Staton On October 5, 1942, George married Redonda M. Martin in Wichita, Kansas. He was raised and educated in Hollis Oklahoma where he attended public schools. He worked in Wichita, Kansas for 15 years and moved to Ogden in 1957 where he resided until his death. George was ordained a Deacon in the Baptist Church in 1966 and taught Sunday School for many years. He was currently a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Layton. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Army Air Corps and was a recipient of the Purple Heart and Air Medal. George worked for Marquardt Corporation until they closed, followed by employment with ESystems. He eventually retired from Williams International as a manufacturing engineer. George was an avid golfer. He loved to hunt big and small game. He was an excellent marksman and won several awards and trophies in archery as well. He loved to exercise - walking four miles everyday for many years. Surviving are his wife, Redonda, Ogden; one son, Terry L. Staton, Ogden; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Rhonda K. Dietrich and son Gary D. Staton, and four sisters. She was born June 30, 1934 in Ogden, Utah to Joseph Burton and Leah Hazel Peterson Firth. She married Eugene A. Garner on November 21, 1962 in the Logan LDS Temple. She was very active in the Mound Fort ward of the LDS Church. Renae enjoyed making beautiful macrame. When she was young, she loved horses and rode in the 24th of July Rodeo and Parade for several years. She worked as an usher at the Egyptian Theatre and was a wonderful cook. Renae was a member of the Chester Street Gang. Surviving are her husband, Gene; children, Genice Garner, Keri Lee Fullmer, Cindy Bailey, Gena Garner, Phillip Garner, Joe Garner; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Stanley and Rex; and a sister Marjorie. He was born March 10, 1961, in Ogden, Utah to Klaas T. and Martha Lilleguard VanDer- Woude On March 6, 1989, Keven married Gina Montoya in Ely, Nevada. He was an avid horse lover and has trained horses for 25 years. He loved race cars, which he built and drove himself. Keven is survived by his wife, Gina, Ogden; his mother, Martha, Hooper; five children, Justin Van- DerWoude, Hooper; Autumn, Garret, Jacob, Lacey VanDer- Woude, all of Ogden; a brother, Kurt VanDerWoude, Grants Pass, OR; a sister, Danice (Mikel) Kilfoyle, Roy; and two grandchildren, Evan Johnson and Elizabeth VanDerWoude. He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents. Linda was born April 8, 1948 in Ogden, a daughter of Wendell and Delene Baugh Littlefield. She married Norman P. Mead on November 8, 1969 in Ogden. They moved to the city of North Ogden and had two children, Aaron (Thelissa) Mead of Ogden; and Meagan (Brandon) Sandall of Fort Worth, Texas. Linda enjoyed working at North Ogden Elementary School, Weber High School and Fremont High School, and loved all the students she met. Some of Linda's favorite things to do were read, knit and shop with her daughter Meagan. Her grandchildren, Lilly, Laura, Luke and Elizabeth, were the apple of her eye. Being a Grandma was her greatest accomplishment. We will all deeply miss her. We love you Linda. Surviving are her husband, children, grandchildren, her mother, Delene Littlefield. She was preceded in death by her father and brother, Greg James Littlefield. Edwin Dopp Roundy Thursday, October 20, 2005 OGDEN - Edwin Dopp Roundy left this earth October 14, 2005 in his home. He was born April 29, 1941 in Cache Junction, UT. He graduated from Juab H.S. in Nephi and retired from D.D.O., Utah. His interests were motorcycles, cars, hunting, fishing and garage sales. He is survived by three brothers, Sharol (Bountiful) Jay (Ogden) and Gary (Ogden); four sisters, Joan De- Berry (Barbourville, KY), Mary Sparks (Clearfield), Lana Gale (Layton) and Debra Eckert (Ogden) as well as a special friend, Donna Penhorwood. He was preceded in death by his father, Wallace; his mother, Sylvia and a sister, Sheila. A rrangement under the direction of Aaron's Mortuary & Crematory, 1600 Washington Blvd. Christina Van Hulten Thursday, October 20, 2005 PLAIN CITY - Christina Cornelia Van Hulten, 92, passed away Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005 at her home. She was born Nov. 25, 1912 in Dordrecht, South Holland, The Netherlands to Christiaan C. and Willemina Van Den Bosch-Van Eijnsbergen. She married Pete Van Hulten July 1, 1937 in The Netherlands, later solemnizing their vows in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on Oct 22, 1994. Christina and her husband immigrated to the United States in November 1947 with their children. They served a labor mission to Germany and later a mission to Belgium/Holland. They also served at the Family History Center in Ogden for over 20 years. She was a member of the Plain City LDS 7th Ward. She served in various callings in her church. Surviving are her children, Bill and Carole Van Hulten, Plain City; and Minnie and Steve Whitaker, Roy; eight grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 21, 2005 at 1 p.m. at the Plain City 7th Ward Chapel, 2952 North 4200 West, with Bishop Steve Olsen officiating. Thomas Winfield Titus Thursday, October 20, 2005 1923 - 2005 SOUTH WEBER, Utah - Thomas Winfield Titus, age 82, born February 13, 1923 in Bonesteel, South Dakota died October 10, 2005, in West Haven, UT from complications of Alzheimers. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Francis Gott, and son Scott Raymond Titus. Tom and Dorothy were married in Kearney, Nebraska on January 31, 1945 and sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on November 9, 1959. He is survived by sons, Gerald and Ronald Titus and their families including 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He retired as a Lt. Colonel from the U.S. Air Force having served 21 years active duty including service in the Pacific in WWII as bombardier on the B-29. He faithfully served in many church callings including home teacher where he achieved close to 100% home teaching every month for 45 yrs. He also served as a temple worker in Oakland, CA, and served LDS missions with his wife in Scotland, N. Ireland, and Mesa, AZ. He will be remembered for his keen sense of humor, intriguing stories, practical approach to life, and life long service to others. Memorial service will be held Friday, October 21, at 11 am at the Pioneer Ward, 6660 S. 1775E., Uintah. Interment, Belton Cemetery, Belton, MO. Helen A. Brown Thursday, October 20, 2005 OGDEN - Helen Mary Adams Brown, 87, died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005, at the McKay-Dee Hospital. She was born Sept. 12, 1918, in Layton, Utah, a daughter of Daniel H. and Mary K. Fraiser Adams. She graduated from Davis High School in 1936 and attended Utah State University from 1936 to 1939. She married Lewis V. Brown on Jan. 15, 1944, in Glendale, Calif. He died Sept. 2, 1965. She was a life long resident of Davis and Weber Counties. She had been employed as a job classifications analyst at the Ogden Arsenal. She was homemaker and later a medical/admitting clerk at the McKay-Dee Hospital. Helen was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday- Saints and had served in the Mt. Ogden Ward as junior Sunday School coordinator. She was a volunteer for the McKay-Dee Hospital Auxiliary from 1965 to 2002 and served as president for three years. Surviving are two daughters, Valerie (Arne) Brown Marsh Meeker, Portland, Oregon, and Carolyn Brown Olsen, Eden; three grandchildren, Natalie Marsh, New Orleans, Louisiana; Michael Olsen, Logan, and Jesse Olsen, Eden, Utah; one brother, Beecher Dan Adams, Salt Lake City; and one sister, Virginia (Wayne) Adams Winegar, Layton. Jack Wayne Tooley Thursday, October 20, 2005 Jack Wayne Tooley, 67, passed away suddenly at home on Thursday, October 13, 2005 in Pahrump, NV. He was born to James H. and Althea Whipple Tooley on Jan. 14, 1938 in Elko, NV. He moved to Ogden, UT, where he graduated from Ogden High School in 1956 and then from Weber State. He joined the Army in 1956; there he was on the rifle team and was a master marksman. He married Linda Sweitzer in 1968; they were later divorced. He moved to Pahrump, NV in 1988, where he met the love of his life and best friend Evelyn. They were married on June 21, 1989. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, The Elks Lodge, The Eagles, The Masonic Lodge, and V.F.W. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; daughter, Traci (Steve) Barrow; son, Michael (Jocelyn) Tooley; stepdaughter, Kimberly (Karl) Loenhart; sisters, Janell Poole, JoAnne (Ray) Bryant; brother, Jim (Marilyn) Tooley; father, Jim Tooley, seven grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and his dog Buster. A memorial service and luncheon will be held for family and friends at 12:00 (noon) on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005 at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 140 N. Tyler Ave., Ogden. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to Shriner's Hospital. Richard "Bert" Johnson Thursday, October 20, 2005 OGDEN - Richard Burt Johnson passed away October 18, 2005 at home. He was born January 1, 1936 in Elsinore, Utah to Quintin Keith Johnson and Ruby Jeppson. He married Sylvia Jane Hunt on November 12, 1958 in Richfield, Utah. They were together until she passed away on November 9, 1980. Richard served in the U.S. Air Force and fought in the Korean War. He retired from Hill Air Force Base as a sheetmetal worker. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Richard was a devoted husband, father, brother and grandfather. He loved to cook for his family and especially enjoyed outdoor barbeques. Some of his hobbies were fishing, hunting, woodworking, trips to the family cabin at Fishlake, photography and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. He was dearly loved and his presence in this life will be greatly missed. He is survived by his son, Rick (Tammi) Johnson, daughters Elaine (Craig) Marsden, Karen (Adam) Allred, Julie (Brad) Hawks, and Nancy (Jon) Andersen, brother J.C. Johnson, sister Judy Murdock, and two special sisters-in-law, Linda Anton and Carole Hanson; 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sylvia, brother Ronald and sister Ana Dee. Interment at Washington Heights Memorial Park. Scott Taylor Thursday, October 20, 2005 "Devoted Husband & Father" Scott Taylor went home to be with the Lord on October 17, 2005 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was born August 30, 1967 in Murray, Utah to Larry B. and Kathy Hawkins Taylor. He married the love of his life, Nikki (Jill) Carlson, on December 6, 1986 in Sandy, Utah. Scott graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1986. He was on the wrestling team for three years and in his senior year took 4th place in the state. He graduated from Montana State University with honors in 2000. Scott was commissioned in the U.S. Air Force and served his country for 14 years. In 2003, he served as Deployment Officer in Operation Enduring Freedom and received numerous awards. He loved hunting, water skiing, and snowboarding with his family. Scott lived a happy and fulfilling life, always finding the best in everyone. Survived by his wife, Nikki; son, Bryce; son, Nick; daughter, Brooke; parents, Larry and Kathy; sister, Marci (David) Whitney; brother, Zach; sister, Robyn; sister, Shanna (Shane) Adams; brother, Jace; sister, Rachel; mother-in-law, Colleen Tavakoli; father-in-law and motherin- law, Leif and Dawn Carlson; grandmother, Ethel Hawkins; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Interment will be at the Malad City Cemetery, Malad, Idaho at 3:30 p.m. Lynn Brigham Peacock Thursday, October 20, 2005 HOOPER- Lynn Brigham Peacock died Tuesday, October 18, 2005, at the University of Utah Hospital of complications from removal of a benign brain tumor. He was born November 11, 1934, in Brigham City, Utah, a son of Wilbur E. and Helen Larsen Peacock. On September 21, 1968, Lynn married Nan Kay Christensen. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from Civil Service at Hill Air Force Base in 1990. Lynn is survived by his wife, Nan; two sons, Lyle W. of Hooper; Alen (Wendy) and grandchildren, Audrey, Colin and Ainsleigh, all of Orem; two brothers, Don (Jean) Peacock and Kay (Wanda/ Mimi) Peacock, all of Salt Lake City. Graveside services will be held Friday, October 21st at 12:00 noon at the Hooper City Cemetery, 5290 South 6300 West, with Bishop Steven Geisler, officiating.
