Janeal passed on October 19, 2005 surrounded by her family, from complications from a stroke she had valiantly fought to come back from for 10 months. She was born April 18, 1931 in Nibley, Utah to Arvilla Olson and Edgar LeRoy Daines. She attended Davis High School. A proud Dart, she was a member of Pro Schola and was the yearbook artist for her senior yearbook. She graduated in 1949. She worked for the Forest Service and Hill Air Force Base, December 29,1956 she married Harry Phillip Lambert in Elko, Nevada. They were proud parents of five children. They divorced in 1977 but remained friends for the rest of their lives. In 1991, she retired from Hill Air Force Base and moved to Elko, Nevada to pursue a life long love of art. She was a member of the Elko County Art Club where she made many life long friends and many happy memories. She returned to Utah in 2003 to be closer to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her laugh, her generosity, her pride in her children, her art, and for her popcorn balls at Christmas. She is survived by her son, Mark, who she was proud of because he was the best Dad to his kids. His wife, Jackie, who always made her laugh. Her son Mike, who she prided on his intelligence and love for his daughter. Her daughter, Lisa, who knew her better than she knew herself. Her son-in-law, Philip, who cared for her with patience and love. Her granddaughter, Shay, who she was proud of for her being true to herself. Shays partner, Dixie, who she marveled at for her spirit and humor. Her grandson, Tom, who she prided on his quiet strength and strong character. His wife, Tashia, for her beauty and grace. Her granddaughter, Kelly, whom she was proud of for her courage and optimism. Her buddy and roommate, Lance, who was like a third son to her for always listening and making her laugh. She is survived by her great-grandchildren, Kayla, Kessley, Jaden, Morgan, and Wyatt. She is also survived by two sisters, Lois (Odell) Wood, Evelyn (Cecil) Chugg and one brother, Merlin Daines and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two beloved sons, John and Brett, her sister and best friend, Karen, her sisters, Laverne and Lavona and one brother, Myron. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Lifepath Hospice. Especially to Susan, AnaBeth, and Carlene. Also to the staff of Washington Terrace Health Services, especially Rachel and all of the amazing CNAs and nurses. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 24, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Myers Mortuary in Roy, 5865 South 1900 West. Estella Thatcher Stimpson Saturday, October 22, 2005 RIVERDALE - Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, Estella Thatcher Stimpson, 85, died Wednesday, October 19, 2005 from causes incident to age. She was born September 17, 1920 in Idaho Falls, the daughter of John B. Thatcher III and Clara E. Long. She married Don W. Schofield on August 2, 1939. He passed away September 3, 1944. She married Lawrence W. Stimpson on January 21, 1946. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple. They would have been married 60 years in January. She dedicated her life to serving her family, friends and her God. She was a faithful member of the Washington Terrace 7th Ward where she served in the Relief Society and M.I.A. presidencies and held numerous other callings. She served an LDS mission with her husband in the Florida, Tallahassee Mission, 1980-1982. She enjoyed traveling with the Good Sam Club and spending winters with family and friends in the southwest. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, knitting, crocheting and tole painting. She was employed at the Ogden Arsenal during World War II, and later at D.D.O. and I.R.S. She is survived by her husband Lawrence; children, Dale (Sondra) Schofield of Macomb, IL; Sandra (Larry) Jones of Roy, UT; Jeff (Becky) Stimpson of Riverdale, UT; and Wendy (Charles) Ashburn of Roy, UT; two sisters, Beth DeYoung and Ellen Young; 15 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and two sisters. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Washington Terrace 7th Ward building located at 4855 South 300 West, Washington Terrace. Interment, Washington Heights Memorial Park. David Winston James Saturday, October 22, 2005 David Winston James passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at Rocky Mountain Care Center, Clearfield, UT. He was born April 10, 1929 in Logan, UT to David Wilmer and Irva Price James. David was raised in Paradise, UT, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. He served in the Northern California Mission and married Norma Peck in the Logan Temple April 24, 1952. He served in the Army during the Korean War.He graduated from Utah State University in Agriculture, receiving his PhD at Oregon State University. He worked at the Washington State University Extension Center in Prosser, Washington in research in crop yields and soil fertility. David retired as a professor of Soils and Biometeorology at Utah State University. His work was his hobby as he traveled to many parts of the world helping many countries with farm management and growing better crops. David held many church callings, including Branch President of the Prosser Branch. He is survived by his loving wife, Norma and children; Laura (Jay) Cammack of Kalamazoo, MI; Elaine (Steve) Smith of Layton, UT, Teresa (Mike) Preston of Rexburg, ID; Margret Cottle of Layton, UT; Wes (Jana) of North Logan, UT, Robert (Stephanie) of Sandy, UT. He is also survived by his sisters and brother; Irene Maughan of North Logan, UT; Marion Smith of West Jordan, UT; Carol (Dan) Bowen of St. George, UT; and Gordon (Nancy) James of St. George, UT. David has 26 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 24, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Layton Hills Stake Center, 3250 No. 1050 E., Layton, Utah. Mabel Bouchard Nix Saturday, October 22, 2005 SOUTH WEBER - Mabel Bouchard Nix, 95, died Thursday, October 20, 2005 at Manor Care Center in Utah. She was born December 15, 1909 in Ogden, a daughter of Henry and Harriett Rochon Bouchard. Mabel married Bingham H. Nix on September 22, 1934 in Paris, Idaho. Bingham passed away June 22, 1994. Mabel worked for 20 years for the Swift Company. She loved her family and was always involved in their lives especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mabel also enjoyed gardening, watching NFL each week-end and riding a motorcycle with her son Claude (even into her nineties). She is survived by her son, Claude (Barbara) Nix, Ogden; a daughter, Carol (Wim) Pluim, So. Weber; six grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; Also surviving are two sisters, Eva Arnold, Redlands, CA and Margie Sharpels, Gig harbor, WA. She is preceded in death by sons, Kay and Lee; one brother and five sisters. Keith L. Dillree Saturday, October 22, 2005 BRIGHAM CITY- Keith LeRoy Dillree, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2005. He was born December 19, 1930 in American Fork, Utah and was the eldest son of Willard LeRoy Dillree and Elaine Duboise Dillree. Keith grew up in Fairfield, Utah and lived in the Stage Coach Inn with his Aunt Minnie Carson Tegan and Uncle Warren Carson, who raised him and who he loved dearly. He attended Schools in Fairfield (a one room school house), Cedar Fort and Lehi. Keith served in the Korean War with the U.S. Army 25th Infantry Division. He was a hod carrier for Henry L. Ashton & Sons. He retired from Thiokol Corp. after 32 years. Keith married Jonene Fullmer in 1957. They had three children, they later divorced. He married June M. Altop in 1976. Surviving are his loving wife, June, sons, Kenneth, David and daughter, Cindy Scott, stepson, Mark Altop, stepdaughter, Christine King, nine grandchildren, a brother, Smokey Dillree, Morgan, UT, and a sister, Leah Judd, Echo, UT. Funeral Services will be Monday, October 24, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Myers Mortuary Chapel, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City, UT. Friends may call on Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Monday from 8:40 to 9:40 a.m. at the Mortuary. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery. Stanley S. Hopper Saturday, October 22, 2005 2 Cor. 5:8 Absent from the body - present with the Lord. OGDEN - Stan Hopper went to sleep on Wednesday, October 19, 2005 and woke up in the arms of the Savior. He had been recovering at home from leukemia. He was born December 15, 1936 in Coweda, Oklahoma to Floyd and Viola Hopper. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 - 1958. He married Edna May George in 1959. They were blessed with three children, Janet, Steven, and Robert. Stan and family lived in Oklahoma, California, Utah, North Dakota, and Minnesota before moving to Ogden, UT where Stan retired from the U.S. Government. Edna May passed away in 2001. Stan was devoted to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and served as a deacon in the Baptist Church for 40 years. On March 30, 2005 he married Patty and they shared seven months together. Stan is survived by his wife, Patty; Children, Janet (Ken) Miller, Steve (Kari) Hopper, Robert (Melissa) Hopper, two sisters and three brothers, four grandchildren, Taylor, Kaden, Tiana and Ethan. Many Nieces and Nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. Ford and the many wonderful nurses and care givers at LDS Hospital Eighth Floor Bone Marrow Clinic in S.L.C. We were grateful for the IHC Hospice, Dr. Wood and especially his nurses, Tammy and Debbie. We appreciate the loving care of his friends, pastor, and Washington Heights Baptist Church Family during his illness. He was a Godly man and was able to face death unafraid because of his faith in Jesus Christ. A celebration of Stan's life will be held on Monday, October 24, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Washington Heights Baptist Church, 1770 East 6200 South, South Ogden. Viewing will be held one hour prior to services. Interment will be Leavitt's Aultorest Memorial Park at a later date. Gregory Joseph Meister Saturday, October 22, 2005 LAYTON - Gregory Joseph Meister was born on March 18, 1945 and went home to be with the Lord on October 19, 2005. He will be missed by his Mom and Dad, wife (Jean), son (Tim), daughter (Andrea), and lots of grandkids.
