She was born December 7, 1930 in Victor, Idaho, to Glen Josiah Barker and Ila Elizabeth Fisher Barker. Remola was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served tirelessly in taking care of her aging mother, Ila. She loved to crochet and do all kinds of hand work. She also enjoyed reading, cooking and spending time with her family and friends. Remola was constantly keeping in touch with those she loved. She had a soft spot in her heart for animals and cared for countless dogs and cats in her lifetime. Remola is survived by a nephew Calvin (Diana) Jones, Lehi; nieces Jean (Gene) Rolfe, Vernal; Kendra Jones, Kamiah, Idaho; Cayrol Ann Barker, Madras, Oregon; Kelli (Shawn) Whitesides, Syracuse. As well as many great nieces and nephews who adored her. Her parents, sister, and two brothers preceded her in death. Richard Jackson Brown Sunday, September 4, 2005 OGDEN - Richard Jackson Brown, 60, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home, as he wished, after a nine month battle with lung cancer. He was born July 15, 1945 in North Hollywood, Calif., to Jackson Hoyle Brown and Madeline Irene Barrot Brown. Richard married the love of his life, Kim Jackson on May 24, 1994 in Elko, Nevada and inherited a daughter, Sarah. He served in the U.S. Army. Richard enjoyed four-wheeling and gold prospecting. He enjoyed his job at Advanced Paving and the many friends he made there. He also loved his many animals - especially his bud, Wishbone. He is survived by his wife, Kim Jackson Brown; daughter, Sarah Richins (Shawn) Sawyer, and his four grandchildren; Shay, Segan, Shavis, and Salem, Clearfield, UT; mother, Madeline; two sisters; two brothers; four nephews; and father-in-law, Peter G. Spendlove. Richard was preceded in death by his father, Jackson Hoyle Brown and his son, Alexander (Alex) Brown. June Burgess Gibbons Jamison Sunday, September 4, 2005 OGDEN June Burgess Gibbons Jamison departed this earth on September 3, 2005 surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 4, 1917 in Hyde Park, Utah, a daughter of Samuel George and Iva Gheen Burgess. She married Louis Vaden Gibbons in Worland, Wyoming and from this union came five daughters and one son. Their marriage was later solemnized in the L.D.S. Temple. He preceded her in death. She then married Donald Jamison in Elko, Nevada. He preceded her in death. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and during her years she served in numerous callings in Young Womens and Relief Society. She owned and operated a dance studio where many of her students went on to successful careers in entertainment. In her early years she worked with the youth in dance, theater, music and recreation. She was active in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and giving numerous book reviews throughout the valley for the Literary Club. She is survived by five daughters and one son, Sue G. (Gary) Bowden, Iva Lou (Charles) Burns, Cathy L. (Michael) Baird, Christine J. (Robert) Close, Mary F. (David) Lund, Stephen L. (Ilene) Gibbons. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and one sister, Georgeann Burgess. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Virginia Burgess Anderson, one grandson, one great-granddaughter and one great-grandson. Kyle C Okey Sunday, September 4, 2005 MARRIOTT-SLATERVILLE Kyle C Okey, 48, passed peacefully away surrounded by his loved ones on Friday, September 2, 2005, after a courageous two-year battle with melanoma cancer. Kyle was born April 6, 1957 in American Fork, Utah to Shirl K. and Arlene Carson Okey. They later moved to Roy where Kyle graduated from Roy High School in 1975. He played the tuba in the Roy High band and was awarded a music scholarship to Weber State College. He was the Seminary President at Roy High LDS Seminary. His interests and hobbies included all outdoor activities, including camping with his family, fishing with his children and hunting with his Dad and brothers. Kyle enjoyed the freedom he found while riding his Harley-Davidson. He loved the fall season, early mornings, and sharing them with his sweetheart, Paula. Kyle was very artistic and enjoyed working with wood, painting and drawing, and his home reflects his wonderful handiwork. His yard was a prime interest and his garden was always beautiful. Over the years, Kyle's many friends and neighbors were the recipients of his generosity. Kyle was an Eagle Scout and his life reflected the many traits associated with that award: trustworthy, helpful, friendly, kind, brave and many others. He was employed with Utah Power and Light for 26 years, where he worked as a Journeyman Lineman and later as a Safety Administrator. He had a very high regard for his coworkers and they all shared a mutual respect for each other. He married his sweetheart and best friend, Paula Hansen in the Salt Lake Temple on July 10, 1979. They are the parents of six beautiful children, Erin (Joel) Cluff of Logan, Utah; Jenifer, Spencer, (currently serving an LDS mission in New Jersey), Summer Mae, Evan and McKay, all of Marriott-Slaterville, Utah. His two grandchildren, Easton and Talia, loved him dearly and will miss his love, songs and kisses. He is survived by his parents and his siblings, Kay (Becky) of Roy; Brian (Jan) of Riverdale; Allyson Matheson of Roy; Kevin (Denice) of North Ogden; and Krystn (Jason) Hinojosa of Roy. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Pat Hansen (Jay) Hunt. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his father-in-law, Harry Lee Hansen and a brother, Bradford Kenneth. Kyle's great love and devotion to the Lord led him to serve in many capacities in the LDS Church, including: Scout Master, Stake and Ward Young Mens Presidencies, Elders Quorum, High Priest Group and Bishop of the Marriott Ward. He served an honorable mission to Birmingham, England from 1976-78. He loved working with the youth and they in turn loved him. The world is a better place because of Bishop Kyle Okey. Linda Lee Johnson Sunday, September 4, 2005 PLEASANT VIEW - Our loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend Linda Lee Clapper Johnson 75, passed away August 31, 2005, in her home in Pleasant View. She was born September 4, 1929 in Union City, Indiana, the daughter of Raymond and Sylvia Hoover Clapper. She worked part time as a Telephone Operator while going to High School. After graduating she joined her sister in Indianapolis, Indiana and worked at Indiana Bell. In 1952 she met the love of her life and best friend at a church dance, Gerald (Jerry) Johnson. Jerry was in the Army at that time and stationed at Camp Atterbury. They were married on June 14, 1953, 4 months later, after Jerry was discharged. They drove back to Ogden and began their life together. Linda worked at Mountain Bell while raising their three children and retired from U.S. West in 1983. She stayed home for a few months but got bored. She went to work as Office Manager at her husband's business, Johnson Ornamental Iron and Tefco Security Doors. In 1996 she retired again to enjoy their new home in Pleasant view. Although she enjoyed spending winters in her Las Vegas home, Linda enjoyed reading, fishing, traveling in their 5th wheel and playing pool on Friday nights with Jerry in their game room. They were married 52 wonderful years. Surviving are her husband Jerry, two children, Kerry Johnson of Topeka Kansas, Jana Johnson of Pleasant View, sisters, Pat Pudderbaugh and Gerry Clapper of Union City Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Raymond Reed (Ray) Johnson of Ogden. Interment at Leavitt's Aultorest Memorial Park. Salvador Ludwig Marchese Sunday, September 4, 2005 Salvador Ludwig Marchese was born on May 13, 1931, in Bugaloosa, Louisiana. He fought and survived the Korean War and was a proud veteran. He was one of the "Chosin Few" and received the Purple Heart. He was married to Phyllis Marchese for 44 years and was the best husband and father. Sal was preceded in death by his loving daughter, Julie Anne, sister, Helen, and brother, Harold. He is survived by his two daughters, Arlene (Brian) Corey, and Linda (Danny) Ellis, and four loving grandkids, Gray, Lydia, Jacey, and Gavin. We love you Papa. Potter Sunday, September 4, 2005 10/24/20 - 09/01/05 Our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend Dorothy Louise Foote Potter passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2005 at the age of 84. She was born October 24, 1920 in Pontiac, Michigan to Donald Mar and Alice Welborne Foote. The family moved to Jerome, Idaho when she was a child. She moved from Idaho to Salt Lake City to attend business college. While employed by Young Electric Sign Company she met and married her husband, Alfred J. Potter in 1940. They moved to Bountiful in 1948. She was employed by Phillips Petroleum Company from 1958 until her retirement in 1985. In her retirement years she enjoyed her hobby as a porcelain artist sharing with her children the beauty of her outstanding talent. She received many awards for her excellence. She is survived by her children, Dorothy A. "Dottie" (Russ) Earl, Evelyn (LeRoy) Gallegos and Jay L. (Barbara) Potter; grandchildren, Stephanie, Kris, Jeffrey, Elizabeth, Jason and Lisa; and serven great-grandchildren. Mary Lou Farr Lloyd Sunday, September 4, 2005 1929 - 2005 Mary Lou Farr Lloyd, of Kaysville, Utah, passed away on September 1, 2005. She was born March 1, 1929 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Willard Ballantyne and Jane Lucretia Brown Farr. She spent many of her growing up years in Salt Lake City and Richfield, UT. She graduated from East High in 1947. Our angel haired mother was eternally 29 years old. She married Grant S. Lloyd on May 26, 1949 in the Salt Lake Temple. In 1954, Mary Lou and Grant moved to Just-A-Mere Farm in Kaysville and began attending the Old North Farmington ward. Mary Lou served in many positions in all the auxiliaries of the church, including Stake Relief Society President. One of her longest callings in the church was that of ward organist. She held that position for nearly 40 years. Music became one of her great loves and brought great joy into her life. In 1996, Mary Lou and Grant served an LDS mission at the Visitors Center in Sharon, Vermont, the birthplace of Joseph Smith. Mary Lou worked side by side with her dear husband in creating and establishing Cherry Hill Resort. Together for over 30 years, she and Grant helped greet people to their little farm from all over the world. Mary Lou is survived by Grant, her husband of 56 years, her five children: Kathleen (Kent) Gauchay, Idaho Falls, ID; Scott (Marilyn), Kaysville, UT; Bruce (Debbie), Kaysville, UT; Keith (Tammy), Kaysville, UT; Carol (Blair) Barton, Kaysville, UT; 22 grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren; sister, Louise McAllister, Vancouver, WA. Alta Marie (Brown) Healey Sunday, September 4, 2005 OGDEN - Alta Marie (Brown) Healey, 91, succumbed to declining health and died Thursday, September 1, 2005 in Bountiful, surrounded by close and loving family members. She was born July 17, 1914, a daughter of Claude and Hazel Brown in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Alta married Mervin Healey in Richmond, California. Mom always rallied for the underdog and protected those she loved. She leaves a heritage of hard work, love, wit and laughter for her family. Alta is survived by her children, Alan Healey, Washington; Marie Jefferson, Ogden; seven grandchildren, Margaret Goehring, Helen Bergeson, Tara, Loren, Brent, Shauna (Dotter), Troy Jefferson; and six greatgrandchildren. Also surviving are her eldest brother, Frank Brown of California; her brother, Ray Brown of Boise; and a sister, Beth Baird of California. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and one sister, Francis Healey. Monty Wright Romano Sunday, September 4, 2005 Monty Wright Romano, 63, passed away of cancer September 1, 2005 at Davis North Medical Center in Layton surrounded by his family and friends. He was born June 19, 1942 in Ogden, Utah. He was the son of Mary Floriene Romano and Donald Mitchell Romano. After graduating from Davis High School, he served in the U.S. Air Force from 1960-1962. He married Jan Lefevre July 13, 1975 and were later divorced in August of 1990 but remained good friends. He worked for H.A.F.B. retiring after 35 years of service. He is survived by his children, Shantelle Romano of Layton, Che Romano of S.L.C. and Jeremy Smith of Montana. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents. Monty loved fishing, camping, walking and taking his grandchildren to breakfast and the movies. He was a very caring, loving man who would put everyone before himself. James Franklin Anglesey Sunday, September 4, 2005 EDEN - James Franklin Anglesey, 58, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2005 surrounded by his loving family at home after a long battle with leukemia. Jim was born April 18, 1947 in Birmingham, Alabama to Walter Merle and Mary Frances Estey Anglesey and was raised in Idaho and graduated from Blackfoot High School; educated at University of Utah and BYU. He married professional violinist Theresa Ellis on March 14, 1992, solemnized in the Jordan River LDS Temple. Also known as Jimmy Franklin, he played keyboards with Ellis & Franklin. He was a composer, an arranger, and a recording engineer. He was known and sought after for his expertise and knowledge by the worldwide music community. Jim was on faculty at BYU School of Music for 20 years and taught sound recording technology. He was director of the a cappella group Vocal Point. He was owner and CEO of Lodestar Productions. His greatest joy was performing music with his wife. Jim was honored to volunteer for the 2002 Winter Olympics. He served his country honorably in the U.S .Navy. He was an Elder and active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is survived by his wife, sons, Joshua and Joseph, mother, brother Don (Carolee) Anglesey, Magna; two sisters Jane (Scott) Johnson, West. Virginia; Gayann (Jim) Norton, Price. Kenneth Combe of Sparks, NV, formerly of Ogden, passed away August 29, 2005. Ken worked as an electrical engineer for Sierra Pacific Power Co. for 25 years as the System Control Superintendent retiring in 1966. Ken was born in Morgan and raised in S. Ogden, UT. He graduated from Weber High School. Ken is survived by his beloved wife Aldene (Turner) also formerly of Ogden, to whom he was married for nearly 50 years, daughter Lori A. (Ivan) Zamyslicky, son Kurt Combe, son Gary (Marcy) Combe, all of Reno and daughter Cheryl L., (Scott) Ellis, Oregon and six grandchildren. Also survived by two sisters, Carol (William) Fessler of Ogden; Marydale Jones of Bountiful; two brothers Wade (Eudalia) Combe of Ogden and Clark (Pat) Combe of Roy. We so enjoyed being in each other's company. I look forward to that eternal companionship again someday. I can see him now! That dark, curly hair when we were first married. Except he won't be wearing glasses, and he always had such nice eyes. And he'll be strong again. Perhaps he'll pick me up and carry me over the threshold of Heaven!" Also there to greet her were Betsy, Jerry, Joy, Melanie, Kiersten, Sarah, Jackie, and Jace - children, grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, all gone on before; her parents, siblings and others. Cora Betsy Anderson Petersen was born November 18, 1911 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and passed away of causes incident to age, September 2, 2005 in Washington Terrace. Born to Cora and Merrill were 10 children: Ronald (Charlene), Denis (Taunya), Marjorie (Val) Fisher, Keith (Pat), Jay (Lois), Betsy-deceased (Jim) Snyder, Roger (Susan), Gerald-deceased (Kathy), Robert (Rozann), Marsha (Gregory) Porter. Also given her are 52 grandchildren (Two deceased), 110 great-grandchildren (Four deceased) (two expected shortly), and seven greatgreat-grandchildren (three expected shortly). Merrill, her husband, passed away May 29, 1981, three weeks shy of their 50th Anniversary. Always active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Cora was a supreme mother. She especially enjoyed teaching in the Farr West Ward Relief Society: Theology, Spiritual Living, Genealogical Research (4 years). She also served as Relief Society President, worked in the Genealogical Library (9 years), and in Spanish name extraction (8 years). Besides her family -near-and far-Mother loved her home. She loved her friends. She delighted many with her gardens. In fact, she won the prize for Best Flower Garden in Farr West for the year 1998. Her home was always attractive, comfortable, and spotless as was her yard. She loved traveling, visiting with Dad over his old mission field in the Northwest and camping in Yellowstone and the beautiful Parks and Canyons of Utah where she loved to fish; Church History Spots in Missouri, Illinois, Ohio, New York and Pennsylvania. After Dad passed away, the Pyramids of Mexico, China (the Great Wall and communes), Japan, Israel, the Panama Canal and Carribean Islands. She even gloried in a famous hot-air balloon ride when she was 80. The family would like to express special thanks to The Gardens Assisted Living Center, Bonnie Young, IHC Hospice, and the Washington Terrace Health Services for compassionate and splendid service during Mother's declining years. Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery. Westley Wilford Woodruff Sunday, September 4, 2005 PLEASANT VIEW Westley Wilford Woodruff passed away on Friday, September 2, 2005 with his family by his side. He was born May 2, 1937 in Tremonton, Utah, a son of Vernon Jensen and Millie Roseta Kay Woodruff. In October 1954 he married Mary Louise Wilson, they were later divorced. On March 13, 1971 he married Patricia Ann Reed, who preceded him in death on September 6, 2001. Westley was the owner and operator of Woodruff Auto Service, Inc. in Pleasant View for 22 years. He was a dedicated member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. He loved model car collecting, airplanes, driving truck and flying. He was an honest and kind man. He was the Grand Marshall of the Pleasant View Founders Day in 2000. He played the piano and loved music. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed having them drop by. His home was always open to anyone. Diana Whiteley, his fiance, was his life and they were to be married in January. He is survived by four sons and two daughters, Wesley (Lorrie) Woodruff, Larry (Geri) Woodruff, Charles Hanline, David Hanline, Sarah (Mike) Nigh and Teena (Dan) Williamsen, 22 grandchildren and 20 greatgrandchildren. He is also survived by his fiance, Diana Whiteley, three brothers and three sisters, Melvin (Grace) Woodruff, Vergil (Alyce) Woodruff, Joel (Joyce) Woodruff, Mary (Junior) Fischer, Ruth (Don) Maddy and Alice (Alvin) Marsh. Violet Cottam Sunday, September 4, 2005 FARR WEST - Violet Beck Cottam, 80, died on September 1, 2005 at Crestwood Care Center in Ogden of renal failure. She was born March 13, 1925, the only child of Jacob and Elizabeth Ann Egginton Beck in Los Angeles, California. On May 31, 1942 she married the love of her life Norman LeRoy Cottam, the marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on May 31, 1962. She was active in her church callings. She was retired from IRS and spent many hours crocheting, always willing to tackle a new project. She is survived by her husband; children Bonnie and Mike Beal, Guy Cottam, Twyla and Tony Bruno, Theron and Cami Cottam, all of Farr West, UT; stepdaughter Shirley and Frank Downing, Allen, TX; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and 11 step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Charles H. Buck, and a son N. Dwight Cottam. The family wishes to thank Crestwood Care Center and Applegate Homecare and Hospice for the care of their mother. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Myers Mortuary Chapel in Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd., where friends may call on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch.
