Paul was born on February 11, 1934, in Ogden, Utah. He attended Quincy Elementary, St. Joseph Elementary, and Lewis Junior High School. He graduated from Ogden High School in 1953 and Weber State College in 1955, where he led the Weber State Students in game rallies and in parades as a toller on the Victory Bell. He also attended Utah State University. He married Sherrill Pierson on August 31, 1957. Paul was a member of the Masonic Order of Free and Accepted Masons Unity Lodge #18, and the York Rite of Freemasonry, Ogden Chapter. His military service included both the U.S. Army as a medical supply specialist from 1957 to 1959, and the U. S. Air Force Reserve as a Logistics Specialist for eight years. Paul's careers included serving as the manager of the Leven's Men's Clothing store in Logan from 1959 to 1961, logistics buyer for White Motor Truck Company in Ogden, materials procurer for Morton Thiokol Air Bag Division in Ogden, owner/operator of Sportsman's Chevron Service in Ogden, and the owner/operator of PBM Marine in his retirement years. Paul was an avid drummer who participated in both the Ogden High School and Weber State College bands. In later years, he enjoyed playing in a small dance band. He enjoyed boating with his family and friends at Lake Powell and working on boats and car engines in his shop. He also loved his dogs that shared time with him over the years. He is survived by his wife, Sherrill Pierson Bingham; his mother, Irene Hill Bingham; his children, Terrilyn Bingham Morgan (Bill) and Bradley Paul Bingham (Bryann Stringham) his grandchildren, Jeremy Jason Needham, Joshua Needham (Shasta), William Chase Morgan, Denver Riley Bingham, and Logan Bradley Bingham; and his great-grandchildren, Caleb Jess Needham, Taylor Paige Needham, and Dylan Tate Needham. He was preceded in death by his father, Julius Bingham. Graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. at Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd., Ogden. Service will be conducted by the members of the Unity Lodge #18, Gregory Rives, Worshipful Master. Family and friends may call at Paul and Sherill's home after the service. Carrera Friday, September 23, 2005 RIVERDALE - Shawn Cameron Carrera, 42, died Monday, September 19, 2005 at his home He was born September 9, 1963 in Fayetteville, North Carolina, a son of Paul Sr and Elma Ruybal Carrera. On February 14, 1982, Shawn married Nikki Pappas in Reno, Nevada. Shawn was a Christian person who would do what he could to help someone in need He worked as a meat cutter in the retail grocery business for over 20 years. Shawn enjoyed bodybuilding and wrestling in his younger years, cooking and drawing in his free time. He also greatly enjoyed spending time at home with his dogs. The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses who cared for Shawn throughout the years. Many thanks go out to all Shawn's co-workers who worked with him over the years and all of Costco employees - their care and concern was much appreciated. He was very fortunate and thankful to have such kind and understanding friends that stood by his side throughout the years. Shawn will be missed by all who loved him. He was born on February 14, 1925 in Henefer, Utah to Joseph William and Retta Fowler Ovard. On August 28, 1944, he married Kathleen Durrant in the Salt Lake Temple. Carl graduated from North Summit High School and attended the University of Utah. He worked for Browns Dairy Tank Company and was the founder of Dairy Tank Company and Grumps Gas and Grocery in Henefer, Utah. He also worked for Wardley Real Estate and the State Road. He was known for his wisdom, love, smile and humor. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints, Henefer 1st Ward, where he held many positions; he and his wife served a mission in Columbus, Ohio and he was also a temple worker. Carl served as a Summit County Commissioner. Surviving are his wife of Henefer, three sons and two daughters: Randy C. (Becky) Ovard, Henefer; Elaine (Lane) Fawcett, Bountiful; Jeffrey D. (Susan) Ovard, Henefer; Wendy (Dean) Bates, St. George; Chris Thomas (Katrina) Ovard, Mansfield, Texas; 20 grandchildren and 35 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brother and three sisters: Doug Ovard, Henefer; Doris Murdock, Henefer; JoAnn Bowen, Hoytsville; Fawn Stephens, Henefer; and Brent Ovard, Henefer. Lucille Williams Friday, September 23, 2005 CLEARFIELD - Lucille Williams, 78, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2005 in Ogden. She leaves behind six of her seven children. One passed before her, Terri DeAnne Williams. Her surviving children are Barbara J. Wallace (McQuary), Judy D. Profaizer (McQuary), Michael S. McDill, Frank Kenneth Williams, Debra A. Izatt (Williams), Larry P. Williams. Also surviving is her oldest sister, Clara Long (Campbell). She was preceded in death by her three siblings, Mae Moss, Vernal Campbell and Jean Leslie. Lucille was born November 1, 1926 in Ogden to Harlow and Lavina Mae (Norman) Campbell. She was the fourth of five children. She lived most of her life in Ogden and Layton. She was married to Richard M. McQuary with whom she had two children. They were later divorced and Lucille then married Frank N. Williams who preceded her in death in January. Lucille was very loved. She was known for her generosity, creamy skin and home made fudge. At her death she was surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Mary P. Fisher; his children, Todd, Dawn, Lyle, Amy, James and Mary; his step-children, Frank, Mary Lou, Mindy, Holly, Chris, James and Bill; 30 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Merle served active duty in the Air Force for four years as an aircraft repairman. He retired from civil service after 38 years at Hill Air force Base. He enjoyed hunting and had a passion for cars, especially rebuilding his '67 Chevy trucks. He was a proud member of the NRA. Merle joined the LDS Church as a young man. He and Mary prepared themselves faithfully to serve a mission in Berlin, Germany, and did so valiantly. Merle believed in and always lived the gospel to its fullest. The testimony and example that he set for his children will live through them for eternity. He was born April 2, 1970 in Ogden to Joseph D'Agnillo and Nancee Draney. He graduated on May 1987 from Bonneville High School. He enjoyed camping, golfing, hiking and his computer. He was loving, kind, sensitive and extremely tender. Perhaps too tender for this world. He had an abundant love and compassion for animals and nature. His passing will forever leave a huge void for those who knew and loved him and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his two beautiful children, Heather and Joshua whom he loved with all his heart. A day never went by that he didn't talk about them and longed for the day when they could all be together. Adriana Van Batenburg Butters Reiss Friday, September 23, 2005 SUNSET - Adriana Van Batenburg Reiss, 91, beloved mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother and great-greatgrandmother, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2005, at the home of her son, Bruce, in Syracuse, Utah, surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 2, 1914 in Ogden, Utah to Oscar D. Van Batenburg and Adriana DeHeer. She was the fifth child of ten children. She spent most of her life in Ogden and the Sunset area. In 1933, Adriana married Carl Ernest Butters, Sr., in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were parents to three children. They were later divorced. On April 25, 1961, Adrianna married Malcolm Reiss. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. Adriana was a past officer of the Lady Elks. She was known as the cookie lady of Sunset for more than 30 years. She was always concerned for all of the children in her neighborhood. She loved to crochet, knit and sew, making beautiful items for her home and for others. She loved to travel and was able to see all of the United States in a motor home with her son, Ernie and Betty. She enjoyed spending time at her favorite place, the cabin in Island Park, Idaho. Adriana is survived by her husband, Malcolm; two sons, Carl Ernest (Betty) Butters, North Ogden; A. Bruce (Claudine) Butters, Syracuse; one daughter, Adriana (Jim) Gonnuscio, North Salt Lake; 13 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; two greatgreat- grandchildren; and a sister, Thelma (Bud) McIntire, Centerville. She is survived by her daughter, Carla Dunlap Beitler and husband Rick; son, Carl Stuart Dunlap and Debbie Reynolds, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Taralyn Beitler Amen and husband Darrel of Dallas; Becca Beitler and Brad Beitler of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Luke, Lawson and Lynlee Amen of Dallas; sister Lizette Hansen of Utah; brothers-in-law Clyde Dunlap and wife Doris and Roy Dunlap, Albuquerque. Marjorie was born January 25, 1924 in Ogden, Utah to David C. and Emily Mumford Stuart. She was the youngest of eight children. After WW II Marjorie met Carl on a blind date. Three months later they were married and she moved to Albuquerque to raise their family. Together, in 1946, Marjorie and Carl established The Man's Hat Shop in downtown Albuquerque, where their son Stuart is still carrying on the family tradition. Marjorie was a gifted pianist and organist and played for many years at her wards at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Perry Friday, September 23, 2005 OGDEN - Beloved and cherished husband, father and grandfather, Floyd James Perry, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2005 at McKay-Dee Hospital at the age of 80. He was born January 30, 1925 in Ogden, to Floyd Edwin and Florence Perry. He attended Ogden City Schools through Ogden High School where he met and later married his high school sweetheart, Donna Butters, on her birthday, May 8, 1943. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on May 8, 1951. For 62 years they enjoyed a rich, full life together. Floyd retired from Hill Air Force Base after 37 years of service. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints and served in many callings including Ward and Stake Clerk, Sunday School Teacher, Librarian and Building Coordinator. He was also a Scout Master and Scout Commissioner and received the Silver Beaver Award for his 55 years of scouting service. Floyd enjoyed hunting and camping with his family. Surviving are his wife of Ogden; four sons, Dennis (Helen) Perry, Boise, ID; Ronald (Connie) Perry, Vernal, UT; Douglas (Joan) Perry, West Point, VA; Kevin (Candice) Perry, Clearfield, UT; 25 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Evelyn Panunzio, Plain City, UT. Floyd was preceded in death by one son, Jeffery Jay Perry.
