First and principally I recommend my soul into the hands of my Creator and redeemer which gave it me and my worldly Estate as followeth. ITEM I give and bequeath to my well beloved wife Priscilla Burton two Negro men named Jack and Jimmy ~ and four Negro women named Billis and Moll and Hagar and Phillius and one Negro man called Peter during her widow hood and after to be equally divided among my children. ITEM I give and bequeath unto my son John Burton my plantation down all Magette Bay in Northampton County called Golden Quarter containing five Hundred & Thirty four acres, to him & his heirs forever & Ten head of young cattle, ten head of young sheep, one bed with furniture suitable to the said bed, one two year old horse, four Negroes, Betty, Grace, Geminic East & Peter Sarah, Jude, Frank and a boy called Frank. These others are the increase of the four first names Negroes. ITEM I give and bequeath unto my son Samuel Burton my plantation whereon I now live containing two hundred and sixteen acres; to him & his heirs forever. ITEM I give and bequeath to my son Eligals (maybe Elijah ccb) one hundred of land laying in the woods near Gingoteague & and my Negro boys Tom, Harry, and Solomon; to him & his heirs forever. As also the land to him and his heirs forever. ITEM I give unto my son Samuel Burton one Negro boy called Daniel; to him and his heirs forever, also one girl called Rose forever. ITEM I give and bequeath to my daughter Ann Burton one Negro girl called Jane; to her and her heirs forever. Also one Negro girl named Dinah to her and her heirs forever. ITEM I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Burton one Negro girl named Patience and another girl named Comfort; to her and her heirs forever. ITEM I give unto my son John Burton one dozen silver spoons, one tale tells, & a silver cup, one brass candlestick. All my personal estate is to be equally divided between my wife and four of my children named Samuel, Eligals, Ann and Mary Burton. ITEM I do leave the care of my son John Burton to my brother Stratton Burton with all his estate both real and personal until he shall arrive at the age of 21 years and if the said John Burton should not live to the age of twenty one years, then his estate to return to his two brothers Samuel & Eligals Burton. ITEM I do constitute and appoint my loving wife Pricilla Burton my whole & sole Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament.
