All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Alice Warner http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00015.html#0003503 December 24, 2008, 11:47 am Source: Widow's Pension Application Written: December 20, 1795 In the name of God Amen I William Richard- -son of Accomack County and State of Virginia being sick in body but of sound mind & memoriy thanks be to Al- -mighty God for the same & calling to mind the uncertain- -ty of life & knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make constitute and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament in manner and form as follows viz Item I give and bequeath unto my son William twenty five acres of Land at that end of my Land binding on perry Leatherbury orphan & Severus East's lines but to let it be longer on Perry Leatherbury than on Severus East's and I give and bequeath unto my eldest Son Major all the rest of my said lands more or less to him and his heirs forever. Item I give and bequeath unto my beloved Wife Elizabeth one bed & bolster and my chest and all the rest of my whole estate to be sold off and the money equally divided between my two Sons Major & William and now acknowledging this to be my last Will and Testament I do hereunto set my hand and fix my seal this twenty day of December one thousand Seven hundred and ninety five. I also leave my friends Wm Gibb & Stephen Warrington Extrs to this my Will.- his In presence of us William x Richardson {seal} Wm Leatherbury mark his her Thos X Phillips Susanna X White mark mark At a court held in Accomack County December 29th 1795 The said last will and testament of William Richardson decd was proved by the Oaths of Susanna White and William Leatherbury Witnesses thereto and ordered to be Recorded. On the motion of William Gibb taking Oath and giving John Custis (B S) for Security who en- -tered into and acknowledged a Bond for that purpose Certificate is granted him for obtaining a probate thereof in due form.- ---------------------------- Teste Litt Savage C L K State of Virginia Accomack County, Sc: I, Jno W Gillot, Clerk of the County Court of the County aforesaid, in the state aforesaid, certify, that the foregoing is a true transcript from the records of the said court.
