Pate Cemetery Location: 1.3 miles southwest of Keswick, Virginia, on Route #22, .3 of mile on private road. Albemarle County In the old family burying ground just in the rear of the Belmont building, the following markers were observed and copied. Dr. Everett, in 1817 became the private secretary of President Monroe, and afterwards a representative in the State Legislature from the county of Albemarle. On a raised hand holding a scroll, on the top of the flat slab, is written: Dr. Chas. Everett Who departed this life Oct. 4th 1848 Age 81 Alice Kate Everett Born Dec. 16th, 1852 Died Aug. 12th, 1871 Dr. Chas. D. Everett 1806 – 1877 Mary K. Coleman 1831 - 1900
